This was a cozy mystery that did a good job at keeping my attention! I normally don’t feel too engaged with cozy mysteries but I enjoyed this one. Will be on the look out for more books by this debut author.

This one was okay. It just didn't grab me like I'd been hoping.

• Cosy
• One of those likeable female MCs who gets a bit annoying over time - didn't hate her though
(meddling in police affairs, mostly)
• A detective who allows it
(along with questionable police work)
• Suspension of disbelief (see above points)
• Duke 🐶
• Everyone's a suspect
• Satisfying whodunnit
• Best characters: Britt & the twins.. they added a bit of zing that the main three (Jess, Kat and Nate) didn't have

An innkeepers opening weekend is disturbed by a murder! Fast paced thriller, charming and fizzy. An entertaining mystery.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC in exchange for this review.

The premise of this story sounded amazing, and I was excited to see what came of the mystery aspect, but that was about the only thing that held my interest. The characters fell flat and felt very one note (like they were half finished), and the plot/mystery wasn’t exciting enough to make the book interesting - as a reader, I didn’t really even want to pick it up.

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
I wanted to love this book, but unfortunately it just was not for me.
I think this was aimed more so at a younger audience and I just did not mesh with the story.

What a fun different twist that I haven't read before of a cozy mystery. This one is very millennial in its focus and ideal client and caters to those who want to have an "Insta Worthy" experience. Full of a vibrant and quirky cast of characters, I was speeding through to find out "who dun it"!

Content Note: Death (Murder), Physical Abuse, Infidelity, Grief

Thanks to Crooked Lane Books and Dreamscape Media for the gifted book. I received a complimentary copy of this books but was not required to leave reviews. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Peril in pink

This is a cosy mystery which was really well written.

The plot has some twists and turns and that keep you guessing who the killer was right to the end. Having the story set in a B&B was a very clever plot device.

It is such an entertaining book with quirky characters and a fun plot.

Jess Byrne has prepared everything for an Instagram-worthy grand opening of her new B&B including a live performance from her ex-boyfriend-reality singing sensation, Lars Armstrong. When Lar's arrives to the B&B, he brings his stepdad turned manager, Bob. Everything seems to be going well until Bob is found dead and Lars is quickly named the prime suspect. In order to save the weekend and her B&B, Jess must work with the gorgeous detective, James to find the true killer.

This was a fun mystery. I enjoyed the concept of a trendy B&B. The descriptions of The Pearl had me dreaming of a vacation. The investigation with Jess and Detective James was intriguing and filled with quirky characters that all had their own motives for murder. Every time I thought I had the killer figured out a new twist would occur, and I was left guessing until the end. I am interested to see where the story goes since Peril in Pink seems to be the start of a series but would love to see more of Jess and Detective James.

Thank you to NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for the opportunity to review Peril in Pink. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Cute little cozy mystery that will have your wheels spinning right until the very end. I haven't read a mystery in a while that kept me on my toes like this one did. Every character had a motive to kill the victim, and they all had an alibi? And throw a second murder in the mix and now I'm all confused. I'm proud to say I figured out the first killer, but the second one threw me for a loop. Didn't see that one coming from a mile away. I may need to brush up on my detective skills.

Peril in Pink was a fun cozy mystery. I listened to the audiobook version of this book. I enjoyed the story, the writing, and the narrator. I don’t read many cozy mysteries, but this was an enjoyable read. I loved the setting and the main character. There were some predictable moments, but overall, I had a fun time reading this one. I would continue on in this series.

A fun, pink mystery with lots of red herrings and a good, believable female friendship at the heart.

Pink doors and unlimited rosé? I’m in. Coincidentally, my nails are painted pink as we speak 💅🏼.

This book took me a hot minute to get into, but once I was back to reading it, I was hooked. Everything from the setting, the world-building, and characters were simple to understand but they were well-developed. Jess was such a fun character and it was cool to see her try to solve a mystery that she has a deep personal connection to, which is something I don’t see a lot of in cozy mystery books.

I usually have a distaste for pop culture references, but I quite enjoyed them here (probably cause they were pop culture things I liked).

I’m still giving Canadian points for this one. Iykyk.

Overall, I enjoyed this cozy mystery a lot and would definitely continue the series as it gets published.

Thank you, Netgalley, for the ARC!
