Ok so I definitely enjoyed this book more than the first. Since I was already familiar with the character it was easier to get into the story and this one kept me guessing until the end! I still love the main character Greta. And we the readers get to see her friendship (potential relationship?!?) with Detective McHenry grow in this book.
Was this still a cheesy cozy mystery…100% and that’s what I enjoyed the most about it.
This book was a great addition to the series and I really hope to continues!
Thank you to the publisher & NetGalley for the digital copy!
I received a digital copy in exchange for an honest review
Book 2 in the Larkspur Library Mystery series - I really enjoyed book one, which felt fresh for a cozy mystery. Book two wasn’t quite as fresh or gripping for me, but still a nice installment in a cute, small town mystery series. I wish the action had picked up earlier in the book and that the characters had been a little more fleshed out in book two. Enjoyed the further development between Greta, our MC, and the detective!
The potential premise for a third book sounds promising (a library conference in larkspur), so I’d probably pick up it up for a low stakes, cozy read.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a digital arc for review. All opinions are my own.
I did not know this was the second book in a series when I picked it up, but I still enjoyed my time reading this and it was an easy and quick read. The vibes in the book were perfect for fall and I really enjoyed the characters in this one. I will definitely pick up the first book in the series even though I'm reading out of order, and I'm excited for more books in this series.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for granting me free access to the advanced digital copy of this book.
This book was great, it felt fresh and not like anything else I've read lately. It kept me intrigued all the way through, I didn't want to put it down.
I love cozy mysteries. And Finding a cozy mystery in which the heroine and the one solving the mystery being a librarian at that is one of my favorite types of cozies. Because there' s just something about a mystery taking place in a library is chef's kiss. And lets face it Librarians' are cool.
Thank you to Netgally, the publishers, and Leah Dobrinska
When I requested this book I was unaware that it was apart of a series, one that requires you to read the previous books for this one to make sense. I am unable to read all the previous books along with this one before the publish date. Therefore, I will rate this a fair 3/5 stars and will adjust the rating and review when I am able to read all the books in the series along with this one.
This book was cool. It had everything I expected. The characters were nice. I liked Greta's friendships. I also liked the path the sequel it will take. My only problem with the book was that it wasn't cozy/mysterious enough. It felt a bit bland. I like books with just a little something extra.
If you're in the mood for a cutesy, cozy autumn mystery, this book provides you that in just the right size dose. I requested this ARC based on thee blurb and the cover, and while they correspond well to the book, I wanted more from the story. That's on me more that the author though.
A cute cozy mystery and a quick read, but not for me.
There were times when the writing felt stilted and awkward in some spots and there wasn't as much character development as l'd hoped.
I loved this cover - and was so looking forward to reading based on the description! Started a little slow but then I couldn't put it down. I wish it touched a bit more on romance between the main characters but was still a great read overall. Thank you for the ARC!
a delightful rollercoaster of a read! From the first page, I was hooked on the quirky characters and the unexpected twists in the storyline. Dobrinska has a knack for blending humor with a touch of mystery, creating a captivating narrative that kept me entertained throughout. The small-town charm and the witty dialogue made this book a quick and enjoyable escape. If you're in the mood for a lighthearted romp with a dose of mayhem, this is the perfect pick! I received a complimentary copy of this book from Level Best Books through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you so much!
A perfectly cozy dramady perfect for fall/winter. I love a good story that features characters with bookish jobs. This was such a fun read.
Thank you Net Galley for this ACR, A cozy mystery full of Fall vibes. I just wish I knew it was book 2 before reading.
Absolutely head over heels for this series and this author. I love the cozy little town, the main character, and all of the other characters. So many fun twists and turns. Not to mention the hunky detective. Haha. Can’t wait for the next one!
Thank you to Netgalley and Level Best Books for this ARC!
I had a lot of fun ready this cozy mystery, and will definitely be reading more books by Leah Dobrinska
All of the characters are so lovable and the blooming romance between Greta and McHenry is to die for!
My only gripe with this book was that it wasn't quite as intense as I'd hoped it would be. Which does make sense for a cozy mystery, but I still wish they'd spent a bit more time on every exciting event that happens, instead of moving on as quickly as they did
All in all, I seriously enjoyed this book and I definitely recommend it
I am very thankful to have received and eARC of this book. It is an easy-read cozy mystery. It is entertaining, and also unrealistic and at some moments a little bit over the top, but I think people that read cozy mysteries are used to that. I am looking forward to see what happens in Larkspur next!
Mayhem in Circulation is the second book in the Larkspur Library Mysteries series. After discovering this was the second book, I read the first one called Death Checked Out.
This is a cozy mystery that is perfect to cuddle up with in the fall and winter months with a blanket and warm cup of coffee or tea!
It was a quick, easy read and I don't feel readers absolutely had to read the first one to enjoy this one. While there were certain characters and events from Death Checked Out that were mentioned, readers would get enough information to not feel lost in Mayhem in Circulation.
Anytime a librarian collides with a cozy mystery, I'm all in!
This was certainly a four out of five star read for me. I'd definitely read additional books in the series.
Thank you NetGalley, Leah Dobrinska, and Level Best Books for the opportunity to enjoy this novel. It was released in December so readers can go grab this now!
This one might be a cozy mystery complete with a murder investigation, but I’m rooting for all the main characters to get their happily ever afters.
This was a cute cozy mystery and a quick read. It is the second in the series, I didn’t realize that upon request. I got through this just fine though. I would like to go back and read the first.
The town Fall festival is in a few days and Greta and her friends are helping to make it a success. A reporter for a travel magazine will be covering the festival and most of the town is hoping it will bring a little boom to their tourism economy. One morning some graffiti and destruction is found. The next, a body. Greta makes a small attempt to stay out of the investigation and fails miserably. There is mystery, a potential romance and a murder.
Thank you to Level Best Books, Leah Dobrinska and Netgalley for a digital copy of Mayhem in Circulation.
