While I did throughly enjoy this book it was a pretty unbelievable. Also why the cliff hanger?! Is there going to be a second book?

Gideon was a real piece of work. Didn't like him at all. Also a few random. Religious parts throughout the book.

Oh, dear, this book was a struggle. It had a good premise, but the delivery of the narrative was disappointing. SHAY is a stay at home mother who has paused her news, reading career in order to look after the couples child. Her husband is a popular prime time newsreader in the town with an ambitious dream of becoming a national broadcaster. Her husband is a philanderer, and the book provides everyone’s point of view as we go through the story. The problem is, is that the pros is so poorly written that it almost comes across as being a juveniles attempt at a thriller. If AI had written this book, it probably would’ve flowed a lot better than it did. It’s repetitive, cringey and all around just really predictable.

Shay, wife of Boston anchor Gideon, is volunteering at a soup kitchen and has a strnage enounter with a visitor. As she is leaving, Shay is attacked and left with no memory of the incident. While Shay struggles to recover from her attack, they hire a maid to help around the house. Once the maid arrives, things quickly take a turn and awaken the past.

I thought the beginning of this book pulled me in and then was a bit slow. Although I didn't see the twists coming, I felt the reveals were a little short and I wished I was given more information. Overall, it was good read and story, but felt I had some unanswered questions at the end.

Thank you so much to the publisher Level Best Books and the Author for a copy of this ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book reminded me of the soap operas I watched when I was a little girl, a very long time ago. So, nothing new here. It’s the story of a woman who was assaulted and seemingly underwent radical personality changes. Not to be a spoiler, I won’t reveal the underlying reasons for this change.

It’s a readable book, well written around the trite plot lines. I know this author is talented and can certainly come up with a different central plot.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC.

Crazy good story of a woman married to a TV anchorman is attacked while leaving her volunteer job. She hires a maid to help while she recovers, but then the real story begins.

Thanks to NetGalley and Level Best Books. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I'm clearly in the minority after having read good reviews. I figured out the "mystery" in the first 10% of the book, then read enough to see if I was correct. Nothing about this pulled me in. I disliked every character. And while I realize this is an uncorrected proof, I hope it gets the editing it needs before it goes to print. I found myself rolling my eyes and skimming parts way too often. Not for me, I guess.

This book is a master class in the unreliable narrator and red herring distractions.

I love a good twisty thriller with likable but untrustworthy characters.

Add in PTSD, depression, and trauma, as well as narcissistic and empathic characters. Oh, and mean girls & twin identities, just for fun. This book is a wild ride.

Fame is a tricky thing. And being upper middle class has its own privileges- and downfalls.

The perfect romantic thriller romance for autumn.

Shay appears to have the perfect marriage to Gideon Wells, Boston’s most popular news anchor. But their lives are ripped apart when she is attacked outside the soup kitchen where she volunteers.

This was interesting. I'm still processing how I feel about it, but I think I liked it?

Shay is a doting mom and wife who is attacked while volunteering and her life is never the same after that. This book started off slower than I would have liked but picked up about halfway through and wow was it a good read to the end. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs a suspenseful book to keep you up at night!

Shay Wells...wife of popular news anchor Gideon Wells, and mother to Quinn, has been brutally attacked after leaving the soup kitchen where she volunteers. Trying her best to recover from her injury, her mind is muddled, causing her to commit actions she never would have otherwise. Her perfect marriage is strained by this violent attack, and worst of all, Shay can't remember who assaulted her.

To assist in her recovery, Shay hires a new maid to help around the house but this new maid is not what she seems and things go from bad to worse, causing Shay to revist her painful childhood.

This book was slow moving in the beginning. A lot of repetion regarding how people are feeling. That seems to be a pet peeve of mine lately while reading. However, I was pleasantly surprised as the story picked up pace and didn't stop until the very end. Great character development, lots of twists and turns, and an all around great read.

"The Anchorman's Wife" by Joseph Souza promises a gripping and suspenseful narrative that delves into the dark complexities of marriage, trauma, and buried secrets. The book's description sets the stage for a story that immediately captivates the reader's attention.

The premise of Shay's seemingly perfect marriage being shattered by a traumatic incident creates a compelling backdrop for exploring the depths of her character and the dynamics of her relationship with Gideon Wells. The attack she endures and her subsequent struggle with memory loss add layers of mystery and intrigue to the plot, keeping readers on the edge of their seats.

The introduction of a new maid into Shay's life, who harbors secrets of her own, hints at a suspenseful and unpredictable storyline. The narrative promises to explore themes of trust, deception, and the unsettling feeling of not truly knowing the people around us, even those we are closest to.

Additionally, the mention of Shay revisiting a painful childhood past adds an element of psychological depth to the story. Readers can expect a narrative that delves into the complexities of trauma and its lingering effects on one's life and relationships.

Overall, "The Anchorman's Wife" appears to be a thrilling and emotionally charged novel that combines elements of psychological suspense and domestic drama. It has all the ingredients for a compelling and thought-provoking read, making it a promising addition to the genre. I was stunned by all the twists and turns in this intense psychological thriller. The Anchotmsn’s Wife is Shay. The well-developed characters revolve around Shay.
The plot is original and delivered by the characters in alternating chapters.

Shay, a dedicated mom and wife, is attacked, resulting in head trauma. The first half of this book is all about Shay and what is going on with her. The second part takes the reader on a journey into Shay’s life. Shocking and complex events that affect Shay and everyone around her have been set in motion. It’s a living nightmare for Shay.

The author makes this complex thriller easy to follow. The characters tell their part of the story in alternating chapters. The book starts with Shay. A few chapters later, the anchorman, Shay’s husband Gideon, takes over. And so on.

This is the first book I've read by Joseph Souza, whom I would like to thank for my advanced copy of The Anchorman’s Wife. My head is spinning from this book. I will be reading more of his books. I enjoy this style. Each character tells their own story. I got to know and care about these characters.
My best description is I feel this book is one I got to dig my teeth into. It’s more than a page-turner.

Shay’s night changes in an instant when she is attacked on her way home from volunteering at a homeless shelter. She has no recollection of what happens so she struggles with her memory. I enjoyed the story even though her husband, Gideon was a jerk! There was a huge twist in part 2 that I did not see coming and that kept me on the edge of my seat! So many twists and turns along the way in parts 2 and 3, they just blew me away! You’ll have to read it to find out what happens. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this early release in exchange for my honest review. Highly recommend this one! I went into this book with 0 expectations and I was pleasantly surprised!!!

Really enjoyable. Granted some of the twists are a bit far fetched but that's what I loved about it. Its cleverly written, engaging, funny and I couldnt put it down. I was so keen to see how it all played out that I just had to try for one more chapter. The plot itsself was original and the writing just flowed so well that it was easy to just get completely lost in the plot and lose hours of the day before I even knew it lol. I'd definitely recommend

This is a great story that will hook you in the first chapter. This is a well written and very suspenseful and entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

This was quite the in depth and interesting story. I find that if a story is told from too many points of view, that it can get muddled. However, this author did a fantastic job at keeping everyone straight and I found the different points of view quite memorable. The story was interesting, and I was engaged throughout. I loved getting to know the characters and seeing just exactly how far they would go to get what they wanted even though I disliked so many of them. Quinn’s point of view was my favorite and really reminded me that children are more than we give them credit to. This was my first book by this author, but it won’t be the last.

If you are looking for a fun and engaging thriller, then check this one out.
