Well, I needed a little bit more. lol. I love Fable so much and jump right back into this world at every opportunity. Drift was an easy reading YES for me. Its a short story based on what's next for Willa and Koy. Their adventures and their goals and dreams are working together, but they haven't fully recognized that they are meant to BE together at the start of the book. Atmospheric adventure and a little bit of a cliffhanger left me satisfied but always wanting more.
🤍 Thank you @netgalley for the audiobook of this lovely novella! 🤍
I have been dying to return to the world of the Narrows and this book was the perfect visit.
Adrienne Young is such a fantastic writer and she instantly pulled me back into this world and made me fall even more in love with Willa and Koy.
I will forever read anything that she writes and I hope we see more of these two in the future!

A super quick and enjoyable novella that fully immersed you back into the world of the Narrows. Willa and Koy are trying to make their port out of nothing while paving a way for each of their futures. They run into all sorts of troubles (personal and professional) that force them to test their loyalties and force their feelings to the surface. I loved the audio version of this story and it satisfied the part of my brain that has been craving more of this incredible seafaring world!
I’m so excited to be back in this world. It’s what first made me fall in love with Adrienne’s writing and made her a must-read author for me. The story brought back fantastic memories of feelings past and I was fully wrapped up in everything unfolding before me. The narrator was fantastic and fit the character perfectly.
I’ll be leaving my review on goodreads.
I am a fan of the Narrows series, and when I saw an advance copy of the audiobook for this novella was available, I decided to jump on it. It took my about half way into the very short audiobook to get into it, but once I did I really enjoyed it. I liked the direction Young is taking with Willa and Koy establishing themselves as powerhouses in Javal. The one big downside is that I think this really should have been a complete novel. Too many big events occurred with zero resolution to work well as a novella for me personally. I will still read anything set in this world, but this one left me wanting a bit more.
Adrienne Young does it again! She masterfully illustrates the world of the Narrows so that reading transports the reader of this immersive novella to the ramshackle port Willa and Koy call home. Willa is a compelling protagonist who is “tethered” to Koy on a deep level and has taken on an assistant. This short book is packed with ship repairs for copper, pickpocketing and larger deception, death and near death, strong bonds/powerful connections and survival. This book left me wanting more.
Another incredible instalment in the the world of The Narrows. 🖤 Drift gives you another side of Koy that you don’t get to see in Fable. It’s also really neat to see how Jeval evolves over time.
Of course Adrienne Young ends it on a total cliff hanger and leaves you wanting more!
I suspect our time in The Narrows is not over yet. 😉
This novella is only 100 pages and I devoured it in two sittings! It is recommended that you read The Fable trilogy first.
Loved this novella! Adrienne Young's World of the Narrows series is such a great world. This novella gives a glimpse into Willa and Koy as they work at a port in Jeval. I only wish this weren't a novella but a longer story! I'm sure there's more to come from Adrienne Young in the Narrows world! I liked this narrator and think she did a great job.
Immediately downloaded and listened…
It felt right to be back in the Narrows. A short treat getting to see Willa and Koys relationship… filled with suspense, romance that will leave you eager for more… a cliffhanger that has you begging Adrienne to continue writing this world!
This was a really fun bite sized story about Willa and Koy.
It is about how Willa left the Marigold and started a Port on Juval. They have spent the last year building the port from the ground up, but still don't have a great reputation.
It is indicated that there is something going on between Willa and Koy, but there is not enough time to really feel that chemistry.
As a very short novella, it leaves a kind of cliffhanger ending that leaves us hopeful for more books in this world. I'm super hopeful that we get some news soon!
The narrator was great, I loved her voice and she did a very good job.
First off let me say if you haven’t read Adrienne’s other books- Fable, Namesake and The Last Legacy, I HIGHLY recommend that you do before reading this Novella.
Drift was short, full of drama and suspense leaving me wanting more! I’m hoping this is an opening for another Novella or book from how it ended. If not, it seemed to have left the book open to interpretation of what’s to happen next.
I would have loved to see more of a connection building between Willa and Koy, seeing as we know there’s chemistry there but it it’s just on the surface of what could be.
I received this ARC via NetGalley and MacMillan in exchange for an honest review.

I stumbled across this one on Netgalley and immediately knew I had to read it. I’m a HUGE fan of Fable and the world Adrienne Young created. I listened to the audiobook for this one and didn’t care for the narrator. They were just okay but the book was less than 2 hours so luckily it didn’t bother me. While I did enjoy this novella, I must say it was too short and didn’t really have any time to go anywhere. For example, Willa & Koy are now a thing but there is zero development between the characters on page, everything is talked about happening before. That really disappointed me. It also ended on a cliffhanger so I assume there will be another novella? I just wish it was a full length book instead of multiple novellas. Overall, I of course loved being back with these characters and in this world but I did hope for more.
Thank you so much for my gifted copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was such a great novella! I absolutely loved reading Fable and Namesake so I was really excited to give Drift a try. I was not disappointed because the author delivered exactly what I wanted from this story and so much more. I don't want to spoil any of the plot but I will say I was absolutely terrified for Willa in this. I was actually pacing back and forth with anxiety (in the best way) as I listened to the audio. Adrienne Young is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors and I can't wait to read what she writes next.
Thank you to the author, publishers, and netgalley for this audiobook in exchange for an honest review
