I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.

This is a graphic novel about two aliens that are making hummus. Zips takes charge of things but it's really clear that Eeloo is the real brains of that operation. Because Zips has taken charge but Eeloo is the one who actually knows what's going on and what they should be doing, several accidents happen in the process of making the hummus, to hilarious effect. But eventually they get it.

While I typically don't like graphic novels, this one worked for me. Probably because it's targeted toward a younger crowd, so it's more in line with the comics that I grew up reading and loving in the newspaper. The illustrations were bold, bright, colorful, and so fun. They showed the issues with making hummus that Zips and Eeloo encountered to great effect. I would be okay reading this book more than once. Overall I give Zips and Eeloo Make Hummus 4.2975 out of 5 stars.

Very cute and fun concept to show children how to make hummus. Plus the character design is really good and adding the recipe at the back is a great touch for encouraging children to try making it at home with their parents.

You might not think that making a batch of hummus would make an interesting topic for a book but this one works surprisingly well. It's pretty basic - the characters stand at a counter and make hummus, detailing each step. There's a heavy dose of humor and the illustrations are quite expressive. It's a book that will be appealing for kids just starting to read independently.

I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This funny graphic novel also contains hummus receipe so young kids can try in the kitchen with the help of parents of course.

Who knew spending time in the kitchen could be so exciting? Join two cute aliens who have been on this planet SIX WHOLE DAYS as they embark on the greatest adventure ever . . . making hummus! With bright bold graphics and witty dialogue, this is a pleasure to read, AND, YES, there's a recipe for hummus. A fun time is guaranteed for all.

I can't wait to see what these two cook up next.

This was too cute! As an adult who wanted to only read it to my niece, I loved it myself! It was humorous, original and aliens?? What more could a kid ask for?! I loved it. There aren't many alien or space-like graphic novels so this is an automatic buy for me. Thank you Netgalley and to the publishers for early release and access to this title. It made my night.

A graphic novel for younger readers following two aliens that have recently landed on Earth and are using their newfound knowledge to explain how to make hummus.

The illustrations were good and I enjoyed the process of following the recipe with some funny mishaps along the way. I didn't like Zips who was constantly overshadowing Eeloo and playing a know-it-all when he honestly didn't have much of a clue about what he was supposed to be doing and I ended up rooting for Eeloo instead who was quirky and got the job done.

Hummus, like pizza, is a universal food. No wonder it is an immediate interest to Zips and Eeloo, a pair of aliens from the planet Zooglebeep. After spending a millennia on earth (six days altogether), Zips and Eeloo have Certified Human credentials and a hummus recipe to prove their knowledge. The text relishes in word play, discovery, and friendship dynamics. Zips is the overconfident, under-performing leader while Eeloo is the knowledgeable, skillful follower. Together, they prepare a great batch of hummus. Perfect to enjoy with carrots, cucumbers, and Zingerblitz.

Hmm, Zingerblitz? Do I mean fingers? No, Zips calls those "bendy noodles."

Always nice when a kid's book leaves something to the imagination. Zingerblitz could be anything, and hummus can be enjoyed with practically everything.

Colourful, comic illustrations add to the fun and enjoyment of this graphic novel for beginning readers.

Thanks, Netgalley, for the advanced reading copy.

So funny. Love the simple and direct way the comic presents the entire recipe and ingredients step by step with lots of humor. I love these two aliens. An easy-to-make hummus to impress anyone that kids can make on their own and a fun adventure of two human experts (who have been only six days on Earth) ahah. Love the artwork and the character design. I wish all recipe books were presented by these two aliens. Boop!
Thank you publisher and Netgalley for this eARC.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for letting me read an advanced copy of this title!

Zips and Eeloo are two aliens who are experts at all things human. In fact, to prove they're experts, they're going to show us how to make hummus! Zips takes the charge because he's been here FOR-EVER (five seconds longer than Eeloo), but quickly finds that teamwork helps things move faster. The illustrations in this graphic novel are very cute and detailed, and the humor is perfect for elementary students. Zips and Eeloo were even kind enough to share their hummus recipe at the end of the book, so we humans can make our own! The story does drag a bit towards the end, but overall I think early graphic novel readers and kids who enjoy cooking will appreciate this title.

Who knew that two aliens making hummus could be so cute and funny? I enjoyed the quippy dialogue between Zips and Eeloo and was delighted to find their hummus recipe at the conclusion of the book - I just might try making hummus for myself!
