Jill Shalvis does it again with The Bright Spot. This was such a fun read, and I loved all the characters. It is definitely a great addition to the Sunrise Cove series - maybe the best one yet.
I received this ARC in exchange for a voluntary honest review from the author and NetGalley.

Jill Shalvis does it again as she brings us back to Sunrise Cove. This is a well written feel good novel that makes you want to devour it in one sitting.
Luna is working at a farm and learns that a new owner is coming to take over the farm. When Luna meets the new owner she has to work together with him in order to save the thing she loves most. Jameson is used to coming in and solving problems. He is not used to the way the farm is run and how everyone pitches in to work together. Can these two work together to save the farm?
Highly recommend. Jill Shalvis is always an instant add to my TBR.

In this addicting heartwarming story that is about choices we make, the love we let into our lives, and found families we find Luna Wright in the midst of her crazy life on charming Apple Ridge Farm. Luna's day to day is crazy, she is always finding ways to charm people into doing what she needs, keeping her rescued animals happy, and keeping the farm running. When the owner of Apple Ridge Farms dies, she is shocked to learn that Silas was her biological grandfather and she is now part owner.

The other owner is Jameson Hayes, who is an investment banker. Jameson was taken in by Silas and given a home and a job after his mom died. He feels like he owes Silas everything including him keeping a secret and promise that he made to Silas about the farm and Luna. Only, he wasn't counting on meeting her and finding a whole new world and something so much better than the life he was living before coming back to Sunrise Cove.

I really loved the side story as well that includes Willow and her husband. I thought that it was really sweet and I loved seeing a couple go through ups and downs but being able to work out their issues and coming out stronger on the other side of it all. Luna's found family are all individuals that help each other and build each other up, and are always there for each other even when they need to hear the hard truths. I don't know how but Jill Shalvis always manages to write the most heartwarming, addicting, and makes you want to crawl into the story. With this authors books, you feel drawn into the story in the first couple of chapters and not let out until you are reading the last sentence with a tear running down your cheek and a smile on your face.

Each book in the Sunrise Cove series is about a new set of characters and the books can be read out of order. I highly recommend this book and series.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review-thank you NetGalley. This is a 4.5 for me. I am a long time Jill Shalvis fan and was really excited to read this book. It was fun to see her write a very different type of male character-this moves away from the tough alphas she usually writes which made for a fun change. The animals in this story are so much fun-perfect for animal lovers and her strength at showing the importance of found family shines through in this story.

THE BRIGHT SPOT was a delight to read. I liked the characters and thought many parts of the story were not only sweet but funny too. I would highly recommend this book to customers.

An endearing story about learning to trust and being a family of friends. The ways in which everyone interacts is priceless. So much tension is thoughtfully dealt with in the writing so that you can understand the root of it.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I adore all books by Jill Shalvis. Each couple is wonderful, the side characters are all fantastic, and the worlds built (in this case Sunrise Cove) are places I would love to live in. The spicy parts as always are fun and the romance is enjoyable.

Luna Wright runs a Apple Ridge Farm with a group of misfits and friends. The owner dies and Luna finds she is his granddaughter and 50% owner of the farm. She that Jameson Hayes is the other owner. He was actually raised by her grandfather. Luna was adopted but always felt like she did not fit into the mold her parents wanted.
There is money problems on the farm and Jameson and Luna work to get the money needed to save the farm. This is a great story on making your own family and working together.
Can't wait for the next book.

Luna has a soft spot for underdogs and hard-luck stories. Adopted with little knowledge of her origins, she’s created her own family, running Apple Ridge Farm with its rescued animals and charming farm-to-table café. When the farm’s ornery owner passes, control falls to Luna and enigmatic investment manager Jameson. As the attraction between them builds, can he convince her to let down her walls?

This book is completely adorable. It has the unique mix of found family, emotionally wary characters, and a small-town setting typical of Jill Shalvis novels. It’s heartwarming, uplifting, and a pleasure to read.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Thanks to Avon for my advanced copy of The Bright Spot by Jill Shalvis.

The Bright Spot is book 5 in the Sunrise Cove series but it can be read as a standalone. The only thing that's the same is the town of Sunrise Cove, you rarely see characters from the earlier books.

Apple Ridge Farm seems like such a fun place and I really liked Luna and all of the characters who work at the fam. The animals had me laughing so much! They all had the best names.

This was a fun contemporary romance and I always enjoy a Jill Shalvis book

This is book number 5 in her Sunrise Cove series, they are all stand alones and do not need to be read in order. This is a cute country meets city story. It has the best band of characters, human and furry friends alike. You’ve got meddling ex boyfriends, friends, and a grandma that doesn’t know how to mind her own business. There's some adorable animals that you just want to pick up and take home with you. They also take their poker nights very seriously. Another heartfelt book by Jill, ends with a HEA,

This is a fun quirky novel set by Lake Tahoe. Luna has managed a farm/animal sanctuary for the last five years for the recently deceased Silas and is worried about what is going to happen to it. After learning that she now owns 50% of the property along with a guy named Jameson and that there is a balloon payment due on a loan in two months, she is afraid that she will lose her friends due to being a boss and her home. The characters in the story are well written and I love the details of the farm. It sounds like a wonderful place to visit with DZ and the other animals. I did not want to put it down and was sad when I reached the end.

The farm is such a nice place to visit, and the people, I could relate to. Sometimes, I too am a screw-up, But you keep moving forward, and you learn things, and change some, and then you might get things figured out, and you have made progress. The animals are very entertaining, and they made me laugh, As I read the book, I kept thinking, don't take life so serious. I had a great time here on the farm and I will remember it always.
I received an ARC from Avon through NetGalley.

The Bright Spot by Jill Shalvis

This is the first novel I’ve read by the author and it was such a cute, cozy read. It seemed a little slow-paced and predictable. But the love, the love is what made that book. Not Jameson and Luna’s love, but the love of the farm. That was something special.

Also, Ms. Stella, can you be my grandma?! Love her.

This is the book for you when you’re in the mood for an easy, charming read.

There weren’t monumental moments, but still gives you that smile that appears out of nowhere moments.

Thank you NetGalley for this copy!

This was an enjoyable cute story. Luna finds out that she is now half owner of the farm she has been working at and Jameson, her almost hook up, owns the other half. They are polar opposites, but have an instant attraction. They have to work together to save the farm since the farm is in debt. There is also a secondary romance story of Willow and Shayne, who are married but kind of estranged. This was an easy read with low angst and low to medium spice.

Luna, adopted at a young age by parents who were loving but didn't really understand her, has found a place she fits. Apple Ridge Farm is part farm, part rescue, and part cute little shops. Luna manages everything and thinks she's doing a darn good job - until the owner, Silas, passes away and leaves half of the farm to Luna and half of the farm to an investment manager named Jameson Hayes. Jameson Hayes is a numbers guy, and the numbers at Apple Ridge Farm don't look good, and the loan for renovations is due soon. With the lenders breathing down their necks, and secrets coming to light, things aren't looking good.

The farm setting was a fun departure from the other books in the Sunrise Cove series, and it can definitely be read as a stand-alone. Jameson and Luna are very cute together and their attraction was believable. I don't love the second act breakup, but they got over themselves pretty quickly..

Willow, however, was annoying and I didn't really feel much sympathy for her. Instead of talking to Shayne about why she was angry and how they could fix their marriage, she froze him out but also continued to string him along?? She's not really a great friend or spouse 🤷‍♀️

All in all, I had a great time reading this book - Jill Shalvis always hits the spot.

Another great book in this series!

Luna, having been adopted as a baby, knows nothing about her biological family, but is very close to her grandmother Stella. Luna manages Apple Ridge Farm, a rescue and farm center that is loved by local residents. She has established a kind of family made up of her friends and employees (and friends who became employees). All is well until Silas, the owner, dies and leaves 50% of the farm to Luna, and half to a “suit” named Jameson.

I loved that despite Luna’s past, and her insecurities, she runs that farm like no one else can. She loves it almost more than life itself, and when the truth is revealed and she stands to lose everything she’s built, she is able to stand tall and do what needs to be done.

Jameson is a true gentleman and a great match for Luna, if the two of them would just admit it, just ask Stella and the rest of the crew!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

This book was very good, the setting was described so well I felt a real part of the story. I enjoyed Luna and Jameson and their story, and the secondary characters added a lot to the novel. It was sweet, entertaining, and just the right amount of angst to further the plot. Plus baby goats and crazy critters...fun read!

Luna Wright is a nurturer at heart who works on a Community Farm owned by Silas Wittman. Jameson Hayes is Silas Wittman’s protégé in the business world. Luna is a rescuer. Jameson is a pragmatist. They are destined to meet when Silas suddenly dies and leaves each of them half of this Community farm that is in dire straits financially. Throughout the story we are immersed in the contrasts and the similarities between Luna and Jameson and we watch as what might bring them together might also tear them apart.
There is attraction, frustration, and there are many surprises in this forced partnership, and Jill Shalvis has masterfully managed to bring it all together in a wonderful story.

Another entertaining story in the Sunrise Cove series. These books can stand alone. All center around a theme of family - not always blood relatives but more the people that you're closest to as is the case with Luna and her work family. Luna is faced with an enormous challenge of saving the business she inherited. She is half owner and the other owner is Jameson, a numbers guy who doesn't think they'll be able to save it. This is a story about learning to trust - a lesson both Luna and Jameson need to learn. Fans of sweet and spicy contemporary romance filled with humorous secondary characters will enjoy.
