A very cute and easy breezy little romance for the days when you just want a little respite from life for a moment. There was nothing wild or heart wrenching here, just a story about a hockey player who found light in a girl he grew up with after leaving his hometown to play in the NHL. Parker runs social media for a small hockey team and has helped boost their viewership significantly. She is content with her life until in walks Logan Barnes, childhood crush, and former hockey star who was kicked off his team for poor conduct. Of course he gets signed to the same team Parker works for. How will the two reconnect after so many years apart? Parker is harboring a major crush still, and Logan can’t believe this woman is the same kid he grew up with. This book was very simple; a lighthearted, feel good romance. While there was not a lot of depth in the characters, nor much storyline development, I still think it was adorable and accessible to all kinds of readers. It was advertised as no smut which I believe has a bigger audience than some might think. It’s a pretty short book as well, which makes it a great book for when you don’t want to think too much, and just want to read a cute story. Overall I would give it a 3.5. I wish there was more character development rather than just a snapshot of their lives. I never felt totally immersed in the story to where I couldn’t put it down in anticipation for what was next, however I don’t think that was the intent. Very cute. Very easy to read. I enjoyed it!

Love, love, loved! This author is one of the best in the closed door rom-com genre. She infuses so much humour into her books. I love it…and a hockey romance from her? A match made in heaven! This book was a joy to read from start to finish. I couldn’t put it down. Logan gets sent down from the NHL to the AHL team in his hometown, the Appies. Parker, the younger sister of his former best friend works as the social media manager for the team. Unbeknownst to Logan, Parker had a huge crush on him, and maybe still does. Okay, not maybe. Definitely. Definitely still does. “I am the hottest of hot messes. Ghost pepper level hot. Landfill level mess.” And Parker has never been kissed, which adds a lot of weight to several moments. As they spend more time together feelings grow on both sides. They get tangled up in a fake dating arrangement and things, and especially feelings, get complicated. As they do.
This story was so much fun. Such great and entertaining interactions between all the characters, but especially the teammates. The secondary characters added so much to the story. And great banter all-around. Parker and Logan were fantastic main characters. I really enjoyed them and all their funny, sweet, and swoony interactions. Who knew that office chairs (I will never forget Fancy Chair), chopsticks, skating, and verbally describing kissing could be so swoony? Given the extra importance to a kiss for Parker, the burn is slow and the wait is long, but it is totally worth it. That epilogue. THAT EPILOGUE. Seriously, one of my favourites ever.
This book is the first in a multi-author series (Sweater Weather) set in the same town. As I understand it, the books will only be loosely related, but I’m super excited to have been introduced to a few characters from the other books, and especially that Felix, one of the other Appies, gets a book. I’d love to see the author write some stories for other players from the team and even Brandon, Parker’s brother. There are some lightly touched on themes of anxiety, parental neglect, and abandonment. This is a closed door story with very mild innuendo and no harsh language.
P.S. I promise to do my part to make fetch happen.
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for a complimentary copy of the book. This review was written and shared voluntarily, and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a quick and light-hearted hockey romance read effortlessly combines beloved romance tropes – from the enchanting brother's best friend and workplace romance dynamics to the endearing small-town setting and captivating forced proximity scenario. The story's dual point of view brings depth to the characters, while their playful banter adds a delightful touch.
The low spice in the form of a closed-door romance which i think was absolutely fine for the story.
The inclusion of pop culture references lends a contemporary flair to the story. An extra epilogue offers a satisfying glimpse into life beyond the main plotline.
Thank you, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This book .... I stayed up until 4am to finish this book because once I started, I couldn't stop! It is sooooo good! It has some of my favorite tropes -
Hockey player
Brothers best friend
Never been kissed
Fake Dating
If those are some of your favorites, then read this book! The writing was amazing and I felt like you knew Logan and Parker because of it. There isn't any spice in this book but you don't even miss it. You can feel the heat and anticipation of the kiss just by the writing and that was HOT. And this is from a gal who won't turn down a smut book too.
Seriously, if you love romance books or any of the tropes above READ THIS BOOK!

I love a good sweet romcom and that’s exactly what Just Don’t Fall by Emma St. Clair was.
Parker and Logans’s love story made me smile and laugh a few times and I found the side characters, especially Felix, to be ones I wanted to read more about.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a sweet, closed door romance.

Fake dating meets hockey rom-com? SAY LESS!
Parker, a social media strategist for a minor league hockey team (think Savannah Bananas meets The Hockey Guys), reconnects with her childhood crush, Logan, a flashy NHL player who's landed in the minor leagues after an injury and a major PR mishap. Sparks fly as they navigate their fake dating agreement. Will Parker overcome the 'little sister' label and win her brother's (ex) best friend's heart? Dive into this closed-door romance where the guy falls first. If only there were a tad less miscommunication trope, it would be a perfect 5-star read for me!
Thanks to NetGalley, the Publisher, and Emma St. Clair for allowing me access to this book. All opinions are my own.

Parker is the social media manager for a local minor league hockey team. Logan is back playing in his hometown after a minor injury. Logan can’t help but notice his best friend’s sister Parker while Parker hopes her childhood crush on Logan fizzles out.
Just Don’t Fall is a sweet, contemporary romance. This is the first book in the much anticipated Sweater Weather series. It can be read as a stand-alone. The swoony moments and sassy banter are overflowing throughout the storyline. There is no spice in this book.
I have read several books from this author in the past and her work is always top tier. Her character development is excellent. I appreciate that we get not only the MCs history but also information about the town organically throughout the book. The flow of the MCs relationship comes across realistically. Since they knew each other previously they didn’t have to start their friendship-turned-more from the ground up.
What a phenomenal start to the series! I can’t wait to read the rest of the books and see how they all piece together.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love Bookstagram. I love finding new authors. This is my first book by Emma St. Clair and I will be eagerly reading more of hers. I think I read this whole book with a smile on my face. Just Don’t Fall has the perfect fall vibes. Oh and plus it’s the perfect romcom you’re looking for. Logan and Parker are fabulous! Parker is absolutely adorable and is so funny and beloved by her Appies. (She manages their social media.) Logan is her brother’s best friend from her past that has moved down the NHL to the AHL Appies. I loved their history and their nicknames for each other are priceless. The scene with the pink sticky notes was one of my favorites. As was their time on the ice. The hockey players are great guys, especially Felix. And I totally read certain scenes (kissing may have been involved) more than once.
Thank you to the author, her PA and publisher for the Netgalley approval! Already posted on Goodreads and BookBub. Insta and FB post on release day.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

I absolutely loved this book! It’s a hockey romance that involves brothers best friend, fake dating, and childhood crush second chance!
I absolutely loved the banter of this book because it seemed so relatable. This book does involve lots of talk of social media since Parker is does social media for the hockey team that Logan gets transferred too. So if you don’t enjoy talk of social media in books this may not be your cup of tea but I absolutely ate it up.
Emma St. Clair mentions the Savannah Bananas from TikTok and I see them all the time along with hockey teams, so I absolutely loved this story line! It made the story super relatable to what I see on my timeline in daily life.
I binged this book in one sitting on my sick day from work with absolutely no regrets. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys hockey romances and rom coms!
.

Just Don’t Fall by Emma St. Clair is the first book in the Sweater Weather Series. It is a collaboration between seven authors and couldn’t be off to a better start. I love each and every one of the covers and can’t wait to read them.
Just Don’t Fall is like being wrapped up in a cozy blanket on a crisp autumn day. It just makes me smile. The characters are witty and engaging with great banter. I loved the dynamics of the fake relationship, the depths of Logan’s sweetness, and the spunk of Parker. It’s the best kickoff book to the fall season I can think of.

Just Don't Fall by Emma St. Clair is such a wonderful rom-com. I’m freaking obsessed with Emma’s writing style!
This adorable small town, hockey rom-com with some fake dating, brother's best friend trope was an absolute blast to devour!
Our characters were on point and I just loved both of them.
The story was entertaining and the romance was perfect.
This is a really fun and sweet story that pulled me in right away.
It was honestly perfection!
"I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."
Thank You NetGalley and Victory Editing for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

Hockey romance, childhood friends, brother’s best friend, fake dating. Lots of good tropes in this one!
I love a good hockey romance! In this story, we read about Parker and Logan as they reconnect years after high school, when Logan joins the hockey team Parker does social media for.
Great storyline and loved the secondary characters too. Which reminds me, it’s also a bit of a found family trope for Logan with his new team.
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Watch for Just Don’t Fall to come out August 31, 2023.

Amazingggg! I love Emma's books but her writing hockey romance makes me love them even more. Parker and Logan's chemistry was off the charts and as a Marvel fan, I was hooked. Can't wait to read the other books in the Sweater Weather series.

Just Don't Fall is laugh-out-loud hilarious and insanely sweet!!
This is a closed door, rom-com and a charming breath of fresh fall air that will make you want to break all the rules. Parker and Logan have so much chemistry and their banter is top tier from the very beginning!
It felt like I was watching a movie the entire time I was reading this book! The setting of Harvest Hollow and it's immaculate fall vibes mixed with the natural flow of conversations and growing relationship between Parker and Logan gave me butterflies and had me smiling from ear to ear all the way.

I am in love with Harvest Hollow and this first book in the Sweater Weather series. This first book is about Logan, an NHL hockey player that’s been sent to a small AHL team in his hometown and he is not happy about it. But then there’s Parker, Logan’s childhood best friend’s little sister, who works for the team and who has harbored a major crush on him despite not having seen him in 10 years.
I love hockey romance and the thing that makes this one unique is that it’s closed door, which is kind of rare for a hockey romance. But don’t worry you get all the chemistry, lots of steamy moments, and some very swoony kisses. Seriously, the chemistry between Logan and Parker is off the charts.
All the best tropes show up in this one: grumpy/sunshine, small town romance, fake dating, workplace romance, brothers best friend, a little bit of second chance/one who got away feels… and more.
I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series this fall! Thanks to netgalley and the author for my advanced reader copy of Just Don’t Fall.

giddy as hell!!! rtc but thank you NetGalley for providing an arc. highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a no spice/closed door romance
tropes:
-sports romance (hockey)
-fake dating
-closed door/virtually no spice/fluffy light romance
-never been kissed FMC
-brother's best friend
-childhood crush

I am very happy that I had the priviledge to read the new fall series Sweater Weather . I love everything Emma St.Clair writes , and Just Don't Fall is a pink diamond . Parker and Logan were friends when they where teenagers , he was her brother best friend and 4 years older . She had a crush on him which never stopped . When Logan been sent from his NFL team to an AFL team to his hometown in Harvest Hollow one of the teams employees is Parker . When she has to go to her father's birthday gala she tells him that she has a date and so she asks Logan to be her fake boyfriend . When the press discover about their relationship his manager telss them to keep been together for his career . But what happens when they both want a real relationship but are afraid ? Oh my perfect warm and fuzzy fall sweetness! This book has packed quite a punch that I’m not sure I can comment on everything I loved about it! It’s just so good.
First off, this is the most tension filled closed door romance I’ve read, with a main character who’s never been kissed. There is a non-kissing scene, yes I said non-kissing, that the heat is just flying off of the pages! It’s steamy in the sweetest, loveliest way possible.
Logan and Parker are two adorable main characters, that have such fun banter and nicknames for each other. They really just genuinely like each other and it’s such a well written chemistry between these two. And Parker is a super sweet, strong lady with the funniest thoughts that go through her head.
The references that go through parts of the book are like - yes!!! Something from The Office! Thank you for that.. it was a nice touch (sorry no spoilers)! I loved it!
If you want to read a book that makes you feel warm and gooey like a sweet apple pie (from a store in Harvest Hollow of course), pick this one up! It’s a fabulous start to the fall season and this cute Sweater Weather series
🍁This book is the 1st book releasing in the Sweater Weather series, with a group of 7 authors writing interconnected stand-alone stories based in the town of Harvest Hollow. They will be releasing from August 31st to October 12th and will be on Kindle Unlimited!
🍂 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙞𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚:
🍁 Closed door romance
🍁 Hockey sports romance
🍁 Friends to lovers
🍁 Fake Dating

Who doesn’t love a good hockey romance?! Sports romances are my jam and this one didn’t disappoint! You instantly love the characters! Quick and easy read. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because for me, I always look for an element of surprise! But that doesn’t take away from how great this book was!

Parker, the social media manager for a minor league team in Harvest Hallow, diligently fulfills her responsibility of encouraging hockey players to create popular TikToks and trending videos.
However, her world takes an unexpected turn when Logan Barnes, a new player, arrives and she realizes he is her brother's former best friend who mysteriously disappeared from their lives during their teenage years.
Despite the past, Parker discovers that her childhood crush on Logan has resurfaced. As fate would have it, Parker and Logan reunite and she inadvertently convinces him to pose as her fake boyfriend.
While Parker's feelings for Logan intensify, she is aware that his presence in Harvest Hallow is temporary. Will she be willing to accept his departure once again?
This closed-door romance, intertwined with hockey, fake dating, and the brothers' best friend tropes, captivated me.
I found this book to be an incredibly heartwarming read. I eagerly anticipate delving into the rest of the series.
