First of all, this was amazing! I never expected to love this SO much! To be honest it felt kinda rushed, I wish we had some throwbacks and more detailed...
I loved the closed door romance!
I was HOOKED from the beginning to the end. I literally read it in one sitting when I should be sleeping (oops i guess). This book is the first one in a series (Sweater Weather) where a lot of different writers write a different book, but all set in the same town, Harvest Hollow.
Parker is a strong woman and is respected by the man in the hockey team. Logan is a pro hockey player who "ghosted" his best friend and Parker (sister of Logan's best friend), but gets back to town to play in the local team as a "punishment".
I loved how powerful Parker is and how grumpy Logan was at the start.
And I never expected I would love the "never been kissed" trope this much, it was truly amazing.
The teammates were all so cute and I loved how they treated Parker, it was SO SO SO CUTE.
The writing was really good and the book was told by a dual pov of both of the MC (which I love).
If you want a fast paced hockey romance with a LOT of tension, well, you found it.
I will definitely read more books by this author!!

Just Don’t Fall is a Brother’s ex best friend, hockey romance!
It is spice free and incredibly swoony! It has one of the sweetest mmc’s ever and the epilogue ends the book perfectly!
It also features some really fun side characters!

The hallmark hockey romance of our sweater weather loving dreams!!! Part childhood friends to estranged to work place fake dating romance. The grand gestures were top notch, the feelings were all too real, and the pining was just this side of will they won't they. Cannot wait to dive into the rest of this series!!! No spooky season for me, just all around cozy season instead 🥰🫠🥰

REVIEW

I was so happy when my request was approved by @netgalley. I was literally jumping for joy.

The writing is super great! Super interesting 1st chapter to get you hooked 😄. I loved the main characters and how awkward they both are 🧡 . And I loved how there are so many great quotes to choose from! I don't have any listed because I could not choose just a few. (Otherwise, we'd be here all day. 😁)

I know the main characters are supposed to be my favorite (and they are both amazing), but I absolutely loved Felix. Every single time he appears, you know it is going to be a great scene.

This book was just great! I had so many parts that I marked and kept going back to.

It was such a fun book! I laughed in so many spots and just enjoyed it. I will definitely read it again.

Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 Stars

Thank you to Emma St. Clair for the book to review. All opinions are my own.

Parker is the social media manager for the Appies, a minor league hockey team. And she enjoys planning trendy tik tok videos to get the team in the public eye. But when a major player, Logan Barnes, is bumped down to this team, he says in his first meeting: "I signed a contract to play hockey. Not dance." And Parker knows she's in trouble. Not just because of his dancing resistance, but because he was her brother's best friend growing up and she's had a crush for years. The catch is, he ghosted them when he left town. Too bad her crush didn't leave with him.

What a way to kick off this Sweater Weather series! Emma St Clair excels at not only fleshing out her main characters but giving us just absolute gems of side characters. This book is no different. All the hockey players were so fun and their dynamic felt so true to the personalities that make up a good team.

I also love a protective male lead and Logan does not disappoint. He goes out of his way to care for Parker, even when he doesn't recognize his own feelings.

A bonus in this one is Parker has never been kissed. I was that trope (I just realized I never added that to my trope post about myself and my husband, but you get it here now!) and so I am sensitive to how this is portrayed. And I think she nailed it!

Somehow this author takes tropes and delivers them in a much less formulaic way than other books I read. I believe her character's motivations and can justify their behavior. She will always be a auto-read for me!

this book was really cute and a really easy read! It offers
- dual POV
- hockey romance
- brother's best friend
- fake dating
- closed door romance

A little cheesy at times, but Logan and Parker's relationship was adorable. Logan gets bumped down from an NHL team to an AHL team who Parker happens to be the social media manager for. After ten years since he left, they rekindle their friendship and begin fake dating as a mutual favor for both of them.

Such a good book! I don't really like the falling in love with my brother's best friend cliche (probably, because I don't have an older brother), but I enjoyed reading this one a lot. I really enjoyed how their relationship evolves. I love how you write and I will be happy to read more of your books!

Emma St. Clair is in my top 5 authors. I love her books, they are sweet and fun. Beautifully written with characters that you want to be best friends with. Just Don't Fall is maybe my favorite book of hers which is funny, because every book is my favorite of hers.

If you're a fan of Hallmark you'll love this sweet and classic brothers best friend story! I'm a sucker for sports romances and this cute small town read was definitely worth picking up! I would have liked just a little spice and a little less cliche moments but overall a cute read.

Just Don't Fall is the first in a series of 7 interconnected books all are stand-alone but I love that I get to read another 6 books and continue to get glimpses of these characters. I adored Parker and Logan, their chemistry was undeniable and while these books are all sweet romance aka no-spice you could feel the sparks fly between them whenever they were together. Parker is strong and independent, Logan is so thoughtful and romantic, these characters are really special.

This book was a fun Never Been Kissed, brothers ex-best friend, forced proximity, and hockey romance all rolled into one, I flew through it in just a couple of days. I love love love sports romances, there is just something about seeing the soft and tender sides to these male characters who are put on a pedestal and seem out of reach for the girl next door. It was a fun twist that Parker and Logan had somewhat grown up together and getting to know more about what made them lose touch. It was obvious they were meant to be and I loved the pining and tension between them while they each worked out their feelings.

Emma St. Clair has a real talent for writing lovable characters and captivating storylines while keeping it clean, I cannot wait to read more by this author and I absolutely loved the nod to the Savannah Bananas. The only thing I got a little hung up on was how Logan made it pro, to begin with. Admittedly there are many ways a player can make it to the big leagues but more often than not players will play a lot of organized hockey which is both costly and a big time commitment for both the player and the family. The way his upbringing and relationship with his parents was described I had a hard time understanding how he was able to achieve this goal with seemingly little help and support from them.

As always, Emma St. Clair brings all the comedy to her romance stories. Thanks to authors like her, the fake dating trope is starting to grow on me. Shoutout to #netgalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of the book. I'm definitely signing up for more books in the #sweaterweather series.
