Just Don't Fall was one of the cutest hockey romances i've read, and i've read a lot of them.

We follow Logan Barnes, an NHL player who was demoted following an injury and an incident with a fan to a minor league hockey team where Parker Douglas is the social media manager. Turns out Logan is Parker's brother's former best friend.

The chemistry between Logan and Parker was so undeniable. I could feel the warmth between the two from just reading the words. As closed door romance goes, this book did well to fill in the space where spice would usually go in other romance book with just more tension between the characters, as well as taking more time with the details in the plot.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. Having it be a closed door romance was quite the fresh air for me as a reader, as a lot of romance tend to include some level of spice, if not too much, which can in turn make the relationship between the characters feel surface-level. Whereas in Just Don't Fall, the lack of spice actually worked out better for understanding the characters and their relationship dynamic together.

Just Don’t Fall by Emma St. Clair is book 1 in the new Sweater Weather series. Do yourself a huge favor and read this book! It’s fabulous – just the best series opener! This is a closed-door romance – just some smooching only. I usually prefer spicier stories but this one is perfect. The hockey talk is very light if you aren’t into that.

We read about Parker and Logan getting to know each other again, this time as adults fake dating. Parker and Logan are the cutest couple and give you all the feels. There is a ton of chemistry and swoon worthy gestures. The other authors have a high standard to live up to and I can’t wait to read the next book.

A big “Thank You” to NetGalley and Emma St. Clair for allowing me to read an advance copy in return for an independent, honest review.

I absolutely loved this book! Set in the small town Harvest Hollow and part of the Sweater Weather series by multiple authors it tells the story of hockey player Logan and Parker, the little sister of his childhood best friend. I loved the two main characters, they felt relatable, funny and like real people. The story is entertaining and so very sweet and I liked it so much that I will definitely go on reading the rest of the series (and I hope they are as good as this book).
If you like sweet sports romances this book should be on your TBR-list.

This was my first ever ARC from NetGalley and I was so excited to get a copy. This was a super cute PG romance. It was the perfect feel good HEA. Parker and Logan were both so cute together and I loved every minute of this. Even with no spice this story was very engaging. I’ll read more by this author.. Thank you for the opportunity to read your book!

First of all , Thank You, Netgalley fr the ARC granted to this humble reader. And to start this review, say that this books has the kind of content I usaully like to read: Professional Athlete and best friend's sister who has had a crushing for him in early years, who got reunited in the adult season, second chance and a lot of delightful moments between the pages. It's the best of clichês welll executed! I liked a lot the development of the main characters, Parker and Logan are a perfect match and so are the other secundary players of Logan's team as well. I hope that they could get their own story too and turn this one into the first of a book series. Well done!

Oh my heart, this book is just the sweetest!! Logan and Parker have me SWOONING! A hockey romance that would melt the ice, even without the spice.

Childhood friends who had a somewhat falling out when Logan left their hometown to join the NHL. Now he’s back in town and his best friend’s little sister is working for his new hockey team. She’s a spitfire he can’t resist, the sunshine to his grumpy, stoic self. They agree to one fake date for her family commitments, only to keep things up to grow his approval ratings the way their feelings grow 😍 The grand gesture is EVERYTHING, y’all!

Check this one out if you are looking for:
🏒 Hockey romance
🏒 Fake dating
🏒 Brother’s best friend
🏒 Forced proximity / workplace romance
🏒 Closed door / no spice
🏒 Grumpy sunshine
🏒 A cat named Evil Demon Spawn 🤣

Just Don’t Fall is on shelves now!

Y’ALL THIS WAS SO CUTE!!! I knew going into it there was low spice, but I love hockey romances and honestly low spice is an amazing thing every now and then. This did not disappoint!!

Parker and Logan were so cute. Second chance and brothers best friend are some of my favorite tropes so I loved seeing them in this! Logan turned into such a softy for Parker when he realized she was in his meeting and worked for the Appies.

One fake date turns into a fake boyfriend but the lines have blurred from the start. It was so fun to see their relationship blossom. I totally understood why Parker was hesitant to trust him in having a real relationship but man he is such a softie for her🥹

This was a much needed cute, fun romantic comedy and I can’t wait to read the other books in this series!!

A swoon-worthy rom-com set in a small hockey town that will make you want to grab a pumpkin spice latte and curl up in a blanket! I loved all the aspects of this romance nove𝗅, which included a grumpy + sunshine couple, first kiss love match, team camaraderie, and enough cute date moments to make you want to drop hints to your S.O.

Professional hockey player, Logan Barnes, comes back to his fall-loving hometown and finds the team’s social media manager, Parker, has grown up from the teenage girl he once knew. They quickly rekindle their old friendship. With her dad nosing into her personal life, Parker proposes a fake dating relationship with rules and a sticky note contract. Parker tries to protect her heart from her former crush, but finds it more difficult than she originally planned.

The characters were funny, warm-hearted, and genuine. Heart eye emoji moments that made me drop hints to my own husband for date ideas. This novel is perfect for rom-com lovers who want that low level spice but all the makings of an ideal romance. An easy, enjoyable read for a new fall favorite!

Thank you to NetGalley and Create If Writing LLC for the opportunity to read and review this book with my own honest opinions!

100,000% purely OBSESSED with this adorable book. I chose it specifically for the hockey romance and I have melted into a puddle too many times to count. Logan freaking Barnes is an absolute dream and Parker is a firecracker. This incredible couple and the wonderful author who brought them to life have created very high expectations.

I received this book as an advanced review copy and offer my honest opinion voluntarily.

Diving into Emma St. Clair's "Just Don't Fall" feels like unwrapping a heartwarming gift for romance enthusiasts. I was instantly drawn into the world of Parker, the clever mind behind the local hockey team's social media. The closed-door hockey romcom skillfully weaves the magic of fake dating and brother's best friend tropes. As Parker navigates an accidental faux relationship with Logan, her childhood crush and a hockey player , their chemistry crackles and sparks, creating a slow-bur connection that tugs at my emotions.
With Emma St. Clair's trademark humor leading the way, the story dances through witty exchanges and electric chemistry. Hilarious and heartwarming moments intertwine, painting a picture of hope and genuine emotion. The journey of Parker and Logan is a captivating one, offering an escape into a world of playful banter and undeniable attraction. "Just Don't Fall" is a must-read for anyone seeking a romance that warms the heart and leaves a lasting smile. Through its charming narrative, relatable characters, and a promise of more to come, this book captures the essence of a delightful romcom that lingers long after the final page.

Logan Barnes disappeared from Parker's life when she was still in her teens. He was her brother's best friend and teammate and her secret crush for years but one day he was just gone without a word. She's been following his NHL career so she's not surprised when he gets kicked down to the Appies after an injury and an altercation with a fan. When Parker needs a date for a party without being used a a pawn for her father's plans, she claims Logan is her boyfriend... without even asking him. But when the fake relationship lines become blurred, she'll have to work hard not to fall for him again.
This is a closed door hockey romance with all the chemistry and hilarious banter, just no steamy scenes. I love how Logan falls first even though Parker's had her crush for years and he shows it with his actions and gifts but she's completely oblivious. Logan is so great in this book, but Felix was definitely my favorite. I'm so hoping that he gets his own story... pretty please?!!

I adored this story! I've read a few books by this author before, but not a lot. Since this was a hockey book, I didn't hesitate, I love a good sports romance. I had a smile on my face thru practically the whole book. It was so cute and sweet and honestly I almost didn't notice that it was clean. There was plenty of chemistry, and I swear, the buildup to the first kiss was so memorable and so different than other books. I enjoyed this one a lot, so cute and fun and a perfect light, happy read.

I finished this book in one day. I cannot express the amount of feelings I had while reading. Just wow.

Just Don't Fall by Emma St Clair is the first book in the loosely interconnected Sweater Wether series with other authors following the theme of Fall and the same location, Harvest Hollow.

The very first book that I read that written by Emma was her Royally Re-arranged duology, and let me tell you I fell in love with her writing style and immediately went into her others books once I finished those and realised that there I had wait for the second book. Safe to say that I have now read the majority of her books and I want more.

Emma certainly knows how to write the sweetest books with so much chemistry and emotion between each character and she has become an auto-buy author for me.

Parker is an amazing female main character, I love how she stands her ground with her family, and is no nonsense while she is working with the Hockey team, and let me just say I loved the romance between Parker and Logan and THE NICKNAMES, OMG THE NICKNAMES, they are so cute. the romance between them is adorable, in all honesty I loved that they didn't end up kissing until almost the end of the book because it focused on the tension and emotion. You guys, THERE WAS SO MUCH TENSION. This books is so amazing, just like all of Emma's other books you guys need to read it RN.

I know this book is a standalone but I need books on Felix and Nathan ASAP. Also, I will be reading the other book in the Sweater Wether series.

Thank you NetGalley and Emma for giving me the opportunity to read the ARC of this book!

On that note, here are some things to know before reading the book
Closed Door Contemporary romance
Language: None
Romance: Make-out

Trigger Warnings: Parents being neglectful and parental abandonment (in the past), controlling/overbearing parents.

Spoiler Alert: You will fall in love with all the characters in the book

Parker Douglas has spent ten years trying to get over Logan Barnes—her older brother’s best friend who left Harvest Hollow and never looked back. She’s also spent a decade trying to separate herself from her overbearing father. Parker loves her job working as a social media manager for the local AHL hockey team, the Appies.

Although her job doesn’t pay much, Parker loves interacting with the team and doing her part to support a sport she’s always wished she could take part in. When Logan Barnes gets sent down to the Appies from the NHL, Parker wonders how she’ll handle spending time with him. Surely, after all these years, her crush has fizzled out.

When Logan Barnes finds out his new contract with the Appies includes participating in social media stunts, he has no idea how he’ll survive. Then he realizes the social media manager is little Parker Douglas. However, she’s morphed into a beautiful woman full of sass and spirit.

Despite his conflicted feelings about playing for the Appies, Logan somehow feels more at home than he’s ever felt. Maybe it's because he gets to see Parker every day, perhaps because the team and community welcome him in ways he’s never been welcomed before.

When a stubborn door catapults Parker and Logan into each other’s arms, Parker realizes her crush hasn’t shrunk a centimeter. Logan realizes he no longer has older-brother’s-best-friend feelings for Parker.

What I Loved About This Book

You'll love Parker and Logan's story if you love sweet romance with plenty of laugh-out-loud scenes. Even better, St. Clair has mastered the art of chaste but steamy romance scenes. Yes. That’s a thing. If you’re looking for a bodice ripper, spend your money elsewhere. But if you love rom-coms, you’ll fall in love with Just Don’t Fall!

I look forward to reading other books in the Sweater Weather series in the fictional town of Harvest Hollow.

So much fun! I loved this story - what a fantastic start to the new Sweater Weather series, a multi-author collection coming out this fall - by a bunch of my favorite sweet & swoony (clean/closed door) romance authors! This one is a great 4.5-star read.

I adore Emma St. Clair. I enjoy her writing and she’s a joy to follow on social media (Kikimojo).

Just Don’t Fall has so many fantastic tropes and St. Clair’s brilliant writing and storytelling so you know you’re in for a fantastic adventure. Hockey romance? Check! Brother’s best friend? Check! Workplace romance? Check! Fake relationship and my fave trope? Check and check!! So add to the great tropes a girl who’s never been kissed, an NHL player who has been knocked back to the minors (injury and some bad press), and ends up in his hometown but winds up falling in love with the teammates, the town he used to hate and the formerly off-limits girl, while reflecting on his entire outlook on life. Having to be her fake date to a family party turns out to be the perfect thing for everybody.

Loved it and so will you - go grab your copy in KU today!! You will thank me for the recommendation! If you’ve never read Emma St. Clair before, what are you waiting for? Start here!! I’m super excited for the rest of this series!

I received an advance copy from NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op, and this is my honest feedback.

This is my first read by Emma St. Clair but she has gained a fan! What a cute fall, sweater weather story. I loved this book! So cute! It's funny and the fact that it's not "spicy" is even better!

Thank you for the opportunity to read this arc!

Thank you to Netgalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
This was such an adorable hockey brother's best friend romance. I loved how comforting and fall like this book felt and i'm such a sucker for the "it's always been you" trope. It's a nice adorable light read!

I was lucky enough to get an ARC for this book. I have read this author before so I knew I was probably going to enjoy this. Let me tell you I didn’t know how much I was going to enjoy this. Logan, and Pete's chemistry was off the charts. This book has no spice. Which was fine because the banter between these two MC, is just so good.. I can’t even explain it. Also can we talk about the elevator scenes?!?!? I feel like I need to re-read the last one because it was that good! I enjoyed the family dynamics, and that Parker had never been kissed. The way that Emma did it felt real. I gave this all the star’s, and I am so thankful for my eARC. I would honestly read @ grocery’s list if you gave it to me at this point. Her books always leave me feeling good, and wanting more. It comes out today Aug 31st, so go get a copy of this feel good romance.

I left a five star review on my Goodreads Chuck Touchet, and on my book review instagram Chuckreadsbooks
