Who doesn’t love (and deeply miss) Steve Irwin? I love his story, his passion and getting his family involved with his passion. This book is the same story we have all heard but told to kids. You can still sea the passion Steve had for wilderness and his family but some basic educational facts included for the kids to learn. My girl loved this book and now wants to go see crocodiles!

As a huge fan of "The Crocodile Hunter" and of the "Little People, Big Dreams" books, I was very excited to read this book to my daughter. This is a great biographical story about Steve Irwin that is easy for children to understand. The illustrations are fun and unique, and I enjoyed the extra facts at the end of the book, which included a biographical timeline, photos, and a detailed profile. They also included some additional resources on the last page if you want to learn more. Such a fun book that also shines a light on the importance of loving and protecting wildlife.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group - Frances Lincoln Children's Books for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Another great book in this series! This one highlights Steve Irwin and everything he did to champion animal recue. The drawings here are so cute as always and this is a great introduction for kids to animal conservation!

A beautifully illustrated picture book that does well to extend the message of wildlife conservation to a younger audience.

What a good addition to this very simple biography series for young children! Steve Irwin had a lifelong love of wild animals, reptiles and dangerous creatures in general. I’m happy that through this little biography more people will get to know his work to save wildlife.

I grew up on Steve Erwin and was devastated when he died. This book was such a sweet and beautiful credit to his life.

Awe... This one will touch your heart! Steve Irwin was beloved by children and adults alike. His vision and passion for saving animals and bringing awareness to their plates lives on through his foundations and his family. Beautiful illustrated, filled with fun facts, and don't worry, - Steve's death is referenced only as his "tragic death," so no need to censor for the littles. Love this series and this. Will go down as one of my favorites!

I love these books and have read many with my grandchildren and for myself.

I have found no fault with any title yet; they bring to the forefront incredible people who have life stories that need telling, who have achievements worth sharing, to inspire others, young and old.

Steve Irwin became a wildlife hero in my home with my young daughters growing up. How fitting then that he has a place in this wonderful series.

His message and legacy live on and the measure of the man is that he took his inspiration from his own parents and his family now continue his work and share his love for own world.

Beautifully illustrated with a colour palette that captures the themes and the enthusiasm of this man. The writing is clear and informative. With a summary at the end to assist adults and young people, with photos that show the humanity of the person around whom this book is written.

I also like the additional reading suggestions and encouragement to learn more beyond the pages of the book.

This is a great children's book, from the Little People, BIG DREAMS series, where we are shown the life of Steve Irwin, who was a great animal lover and a wildlife conservationist, who was famous for saving and helping animals. We are shown his life from when he was a little boy helping his parents to save crocodiles, until his death. He helped a lot of wildlife animals in his time, and he raised a lot of money for them too. Now his legacy lives on through his precious children.

The illustrations in the book are very nice and colourful, and the text is easy to read. I enjoyed reading this book, and I recommend it highly.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

I LOVE Steve Irwin and I think this is an excellent resource for keeping his memory alive. He was such an inspiration to me as a kid, and I can't wait for kids to read this and learn about him too!

This was a great summary of Steve Irwin's life without dwelling on the darker side of things. The illustrations were great and it showed some personal life, but mostly how he got started, his TV show, and the good he and his family did for the animal kingdom. There is also a timeline in the back that goes into further detail of his life. This is a great way to teach the new generations about him and keep his memory alive.

This was an adorable children's book! It told enough information, where your child.can learn about the character, but also leave them wanting to know more.
Added this to my wish list for a physical copy, I can't wait to get more in the series!

Another great addition to the Little People, Big Dreams series.

Again I absolutely loved this one. So much packed information in simple sentences for younger audiences to understand and cherish. The illustration were absolutely beautiful. I loved the messages regarding how we need to look after animals and the planet which I are such important messages in educating younger audiences.

One problem but possibly an error to be corrected is the timeline with photographs at the end. The timeline starts at 1938 however Steve wasn’t born until 1962. I understand this will be corrected in the published version of the book.

Thanks NetGalley for this lovely little book. I’ve loved Steve Irwin since childhood and was so happy to see a Little People, Big Dreams book about his life. The illustrations were colorful and age appropriate. My child loved the book. I can’t wait to buy a hard copy. Highly recommend!

I loved this book perfect for any little one to be introduced to Steve and the amazing work he did with his short time on this planet.

Nicely balances Irwin's life with an inspiring ecological message.

While I understand the need to be age appropriate, it did seem that the general circumstances of Irwin's death might have been alluded to in the biography at the end. Nature kills even its most passionate conservationists.

3.5 Stars

This is my first book in the Little People, Big Dreams Series, so I didn’t know what to expect. I got the book only for Steve Irwin, someone I considered a hero since I was a child.
The illustrations are vibrant and cute. They get the details right, be it Terri’s hairstyle or little Robert’s bald head. The book also has the iconic scene of Steve feeding the crocs (as a part of the weekly program for the audiences) at the Australia Zoo.
Apart from that, the content is bare minimum, or maybe it feels that way since I’ve watched countless episodes over the years (including the latest ones with Bindi and family). I also follow them on Instagram, so what I found in this book feels like a highly glossed version.
While I appreciate the care taken to avoid death in kiddo books, I think it should have been mentioned. This is nonfiction, after all. The teeny text (two paragraphs of summary) at the end doesn’t count. However, I do appreciate the pictures included with it.

To summarize, the book would work as the first step to introduce Steve Irwin to children. It doesn’t have much to say, though. I usually enjoy the publisher’s books, but maybe my expectations didn’t align with the series format.
Thank you, NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books, for the eARC. This review is voluntary and contains my honest opinion about the book.

This book is another fine addition to a series for young readers about popular folks. This is about Steve Irwin, the crocodile guy, and the book is well illustrated and clearly written. Another winner, quick and captivating reads for the young amongst us.

A cute, succinct biography on Steve Irwin for kids! It did a great job at telling the life story of a man who captured the world's attention and gained its love. I'm not sure if it was intentional that they skipped over the nature of his death but the authors made sure to end it on a strong thematic note of his legacy.
