I have so much to say about this wonderful story that got me smiling, laughing, crying, missing my sisters, and craving brigadeiro!
Thank you for sharing Mia and Alex with us, @livyhartromance ❤️ They are so perfect together! From their meet disaster to their delightful friendship to loving each other, they captivated me. And it was beautiful to see them falling in love and breaking through the barriers to be together.
The Brazilian Rep with Mia's best friend Josie was a treat. It's not always that we have Brazilian characters in romance, especially great, fun ones like Josie. Everyone needs a bestie like her. Get yourself a Brazilian bestie. You won't regret. 😉
And what a gift the close knit family and amazing sisterhood depicted in this book. It added a special layer of sweetness to my experience because I'm super close to my sisters and I love seeing healthy family dinamics in romance.
Also, prepare a fan because it gets HAWT in the room... among others places. lol Trust me, the chemistry is off the charts!
You won't want to miss this one! Seriously. Some Kind of Blunderful is out now and you should buy it!
Thank you @netgalley and @entangled_publishing for the gifted ARC!
After Mia goes on an awful first date with Alex, she’s at least thankful for the fact that she’ll never have to see him again. But that’s before Mia learns that Alex is her dad’s boss who beat him for a promotion and their best friends are dating. Plus, the two can’t seem to stop being forced into spending time with one another.
I really enjoyed Livy Hart’s Planes, Trains and All the Feels. While that one probably remains my favorite of the two, this one was equally as fun and sweet!
My favorite thing about this book was the absolutely lovable characters.
Mia is a devoted teacher who loves her family and would do anything for her best friend. Alex grew up without much familial love and support, but he is a successful businessman, great friend, and someone who’s learning to be a devoted partner.
Throughout the story, Mia grapples with feeling like she needs to take care of her dad who lost his wife and is feeling a bit lost in his career. Those feelings play a major role in her relationship with Alex, too. While Alex struggles with different family issues, he also has to deal with feeing the need to be a “fixer.”
I’d recommend this one for rom-com readers who would love:
-All of the pining and tension.
-Awkward kiss cam moment at a basketball game.
-Easter eggs from “The Office.” There’s a booze cruise in this book!
-A VERY healthy dose of spice. Livy said this is her spiciest book yet and it shows!
-A man with a golden retriever puppy. Need I say more?
-Lovable side characters, especially our love interests’ best friends.
This book was just wonderful (get it 😉)
The tension between these two was perfect for the slow burn build up, and the dual POV just made it even better. If this was a rom com movie, it would definitely be one I watched over and over. This is a perfect read if you love a meet cute gone wrong, forbidden love, banter that just builds the tension, and fate throwing these two together over and over again. There is spice but it’s not overwhelming to the plot.
Alex and Mia match on a dating app which leads into a disastrous first date, after they both think the other stood them up. To make matters worse, it comes to light that Mia is the daughter of the man at Alex’s job that’s making his job tougher, and Alex is the person who was hired for a position Mia’s dad really wanted. Mia’s dad doesn’t like him, which would make it rough if they ever started dating. The two try to avoid each other, but fate keeps throwing them back together, especially because their best friends are dating each other, and Alex and Mia start to warm up to each other the more time they spend together. Can they fight fate? Or should they just give in…
Thank you NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for an early copy of this book! I really enjoyed it!
Words cannot express how much I adored this book. I probably would have finished it in a day if I didn’t have to do things like go to work.
I love a book that can make me laugh, squeal in delight at the flirting, and also feel something for the characters. I was invested in Some Kind of Blunderful.
The basic premise is that Mia and Alex have a disastrous first date after matching on Tinder- then if that wasn’t bad enough, they keep getting thrown together after thinking they’d never see each other again. Oh, and Alex is Mia’s father’s boss who she’s heard nothing but horrible things about.
I loved the character of Mia- she’s independent, does things on her own and hates to ask for help. This icing on the cake and the reason I really connected with her is that we’re both pre-K teachers! Seeing her love for her job and children she teaches with just really struck a chord with me. I really connected with Mia because so much of our history is similar- it was hard not to see myself in her. Only for it to all work out and for her to find her most perfect match that she never would have seen coming
And don’t get me started on Alex. We get to watch as Mia realizes he’s not the hardass hot shot new boss like her father has painted him.
Oh, and the little dedication to The Office at the beginning of the book was just the icing on the cake for me- as someone who is a die hard Office fan, it was hard not to see all the parallels in the book.
I cannot say enough good things about Some Kind of Blunderful. I adored this book and can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a good romcom to read!
Mia Madden's life is a romantic comedy of errors. The hot-guy profile from her dating app sets her up with Alex Conroy, none other than her dad's worst work-enemy, and someone who represents the worst of corporate hustle culture in her mind.
But somehow, Alex constantly blunders and continuously runs into Mia. It's hilarious, and when the two are together, the chemistry between them is sizzling. 🌶️🌶️🌶️ The banter in this novel is incredible. Totally loved this fun read!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced digital reader's copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review!
Could it be fate? After a flawed first meeting, Mia and Alex can’t seem to avoid each other.
Some Kind of Blunderful is a stand-alone romcom. This sweet and spicy romance is open-door.
The MCs have so much chemistry from the very beginning. The banter between them is top tier. The book has such a fun, rollercoaster of a storyline that the spice is really just an added bonus. Disastrous meet-cutes will always be my favorite way to have characters introduced to one another.
I previously read one other book (Talk Flirty to Me) by this author. Her style is consistent and pacing is excellent. The plots move along at a steady clip but not so rushed as to be unbelievable. I look forward to reading whatever Livy Hart has for her readers next.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC (Entangled: Embrace)!
Gosh, this book was absolutely phenomenal! It kept me absolutely enthralled and giggling from beginning to end. Cannot recommend it enough, and if it doesn’t get turned into a movie, it will be a crime for sure!
Alex and Mia have a not-meet-cute first date, and inevitably keep running into each other as their best friends are now dating each other. On top of all of that, Alex is now Mia‘s dad’s boss, and is trying to establish himself at a new company in a very very tightknit small town. Their run-ins, banter, chemistry, and heartfelt moments made for a fabulous book that I think everyone should read!
I have been spreading the gospel of Livy Heart all month!! This book is perfect, the story is delightful, and it brought back all those 90s romcom movie feels!
Mia and Alex have the greatest not meet-cute first date. We have two people who are thinking they’ve been stood up, an overheard BFF bitch sesh, and purse wine. Literally a perfect disaster! Getting to be inside both of their heads for the first date was fantastic. You knew why they each felt a certain way and reacted accordingly. It was so awkward and adorable and funny.
It is a slow burn between these two, with lots of flirting, tension, and a comedy of errors throughout their encounters!
The personal and emotional growth was beautiful. I loved being on this journey with Mia and Alex. I was truly invested and emotionally committed to this story. Love love love! Highly recommend if you liked 90s romcoms, and find beauty in the simple and ordinary.
Mia and Alex have a less than auspicious first date. Then when they realise they are more acquainted then they thought, they give dating another go. They soon realise that a bad first date is the least of the obstacles they have to face.
Between parental disapproval, friends shipping them together, his job possibly harming her small town and her family, his lack of a close family - Mia and Alex have lots of impediments to love. But what I absolutely love is that there is no 3rd act break up! There are some utterly wonderful spicy scenes in a car, a cupboard, and a hot tub. The tension between them is delicious!
Josie has to be put forward as best friend of the year. She is supportive, caring and not afraid to tell Mia to quit fighting everyone else's battles and get over herself. It was a bit weird how much this professional, independent woman allowed her fathers approval/disapproval to weight on her love life. You'd think someone with such a great support network would be less needy for approval of her beaus. I'd have loved a scene of them man-to-man, hashing out worries/expectations and an apology from Rich to Alex at least!
Dual POV
This book was such a fun and great read! I truly enjoyed the characters. This is what you could consider an “enemies to lovers trope” due to the fact that Alex is Mia’s dad boss and since he is the new hot young boss that took over, you can imagine the distaste Mia is suppose to have. After a match on a dating app connected these two, they have tried everything to stay away but life has other plans! I give this book 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ because the scenes in this book got me blushing. I wanted to be Mia and taken by Alex! This book did NOT disappoint with all the MULTIPLE sex scenes… I love the background story for each character in the book and it’s very well written and character development is well done. This book is on my read again list.
Thanks Entangled Publishing for the ARC! All opinions are my own.
I Voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced copy of this book. All Thoughts and opinions are my own.
This book was such a fun read. The banter in this book was great. If you like enemies to lovers book read this book.

Some Kind of Blunderful is a fun twist on enemies-to-lovers in this low angst rom com filled with chance encounters.
Protagonists Mia and Alex start off on the worst foot possible, made worse when Mia discovers that Alex is her dad’s new boss. But circumstances (with a tiny side of fate) continue to throw them together.
This is a simmering slow burn of a book, with a mostly satisfying payoff. I didn’t love how archaic Mia’s dad came across, nor how conciliatory she was toward him. That felt surprisingly dated for a book written in 2023. And there were some narrative threads that were dropped but never really weaved into the story. But I did like the ways in which Mia and Alex had to grapple with their growing attraction to one another.
If you’re looking for a lower angst book with some funny moments, you should definitely give Some Kind of Blunderful a try.
Thank you to Entangled and NetGalley for the ARC.
Guys! You must read this one. The whole time I was reading this I had this nostalgic feeling. This story reads like all your favorite 90s romcom movies. I kept thinking “this NEEDS to be turned into a movie”
Alex and Mia have their meet NOT cute and think that’s that. At least they got a meal out of it. The universe laughed at them. Not only are their best friends dating each other now - but Alex is Mia’s dad’s (much younger) boss that he constantly bitches about. So naturally they just keep running into each other. 𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦, 𝘥𝘶𝘩.
Their banter was incredible, their chemistry was HOT, and the story was beyond funny and entertaining. There were some great heartfelt moments mixed in to round it out as well.
I sat and read this in ONE SITTING because I couldn’t stand to put it down.
Thank you so so much to the author and entangled publishing for an arc of this one in exchange for my honest review! I had a great time with this one.
POV: Dual
Spice: 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️
This book kept a smile on my face almost the entire time, and it was just the kind of feel good read I needed! I absolutely loved how Mia and Alex kept getting thrown together and how you could feel the tension between them even when they wanted nothing to do with each other. And when they can’t resist the pull anymore it is just fireworks between them!
Alex was my favorite part about this book. Sure, he had a bad childhood but for once we have a MMC who didn’t really let that close him off from love! I felt he was the one who was most open and was just really sweet! Mia is a fun character and I felt so proud that she got her HEA. Sometimes I felt like Mia’s dad was the real villain of this story, even though he was a good guy and a great dad.
I loved the friendships turned into family as well as Mia’s actual family (besides her dad at times 😂) and the relatable corporate drama. This book is light and funny overall and the author’s sense of humor is just right for me!
Thank you Entangled Publishing for an eARC of this book.
Thank you for the chance to read and review this title but after further consideration, I don’t think this is the right book for me and I don’t want to force myself to read/finish it, possibly making my rating even lower.
This is my first Livy Hart book and WOW.
This is a quick spicy read and I LOVE a slow burn! There's dual POV and amazing side characters! There is a blind date gone wrong that had me laughing out loud! I also loved the banter and the chemistry between Alex and Mia so much!
If you are a fan of enemies to lovers, found family, and witty banter, this one's for you!
I can't wait to read more from @livyhartromance

“I am Mufasa, and the men from Bumble-Tinder-Match-dot-com are my personal Scars.”
Some Kind of Blunderful gives you the PERFECT mix of spice and rom-com. Mia is an elementary teacher looking for love after her fiancé left her at the altar. Enter Alex, totally “boardroom in the streets, lumberjack in the sheets”. Despite almost missing their first date, he soon sweeps her off her feet! But when Mia realizes her new man is ALSO her dad’s new boss (who he hates), things get complicated. Her family is extremely close and this is a new kind of untouchable territory. Oh, and their best friends are dating, so there’s no avoiding each other. Hart takes the reader on a journey of Groundhog Day meets modern dating with a twist in this rom-com.
This book has wit, spice, and an overall cute story. Don’t be fooled by the cartoon cover, there’s plenty of steamy action. I gave this book 4 stars because I would recommend this for a rom-com reader, but there was a small lull in the book that I wasn’t a fan of. I didn’t think everything that was included NEEDED to be in there.
If you’re looking for a good rom-com to warm your heart and also speed it up, Some Kind of Blunderful fits the bill!
Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This is my first read from Livy Hart, and I wasn't really sure what to expect. I usually read more sci-fi/fantasy books, but this one had me staying up all night to read every last word! I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more of her books!
This book relates to anyone who has had that awkward, bad first date. The way Mia and Alex are continually thrust back into each other's path makes their growing chemistry hard to ignore. But that doesn't mean they won't try.. I mean, Alex is the heartless new boss who swept into her dad's workplace and stole the job he wanted and worked hard for; things between them have to be doomed from the start, right?
This book is beautifully written, a true masterpiece, and I wouldn't change anything about it. The light humor throughout the book and the enemies-to-lovers attraction made this book hard to put down. The developing romance between Mia and Alex was honest and down-to-earth, and I found myself invested and rooting for them.
This book was the perfect mix of opposites attract, enemies-to-lovers, and realistic romance. I am very thankful to Engtangled Publishing for allowing me the chance to read and review this book. It was something I may not have chosen to read on my own, but I am so glad that I did.
I love Livy Harts books and this one was no exception. From the first unfortunate date to the end I enjoyed this story. I love how they both kept meeting over and over and they were forced to just exist in the same place due to family and friends. While they were falling each other on accident they were so cute together. It was all the little interactions with each other really built their relationship. It was so cute and I also can't wait for whatever the author does next.

This book started off with one of the worst first dates ever! I didn’t even think Alex was going to be the MMC it was so bad. But this was definitely a trust the process story. The tension as they went from barely tolerating each other to not being able to keep their hands off of each other was amazing.
I liked the clandestine nature of their relationship at first but as their feeling for each other grew and they had to work harder and harder to keep from being seen with each other, it just felt like too much. It would have been so easy to explain that they were around each other because their best friends were dating.
Alex and Mia had fantastic chemistry that distracted them from a lot of important things when it came to their relationship. They were rarely on the same page which led to some pretty big conflicts. While indefinitely wouldn’t mind an Alex of my own, half the time I wasn’t sure if I was actually rooting for them. Though I was ultimately satisfied with how this story played out.
I was much more interested in Ezra and Josie’s relationship. Ezra completely stole the show for me and now I’m hoping they get their own book.
