What a fun read! I’ve seen so many great things about Livy Hart’s previous releases and have meant to read them (I’ve bought them so I will read them now!), and I’m really glad I was able to get my hands on her newest. It was such a great book!

I really enjoyed the bad first dating app meetup followed by being set up because their besties are together and think they would be perfectly matched. They play nicely together but know they are not going to be friends. Then they find out that Alex is Mia’s dad’s new boss - the one who was hired in the role he’d expected to be promoted into at the company he’d worked at forever… so now they’re not just not suited, but sort of enemies.

With all of the connections and Alex being new in town, they keep running into each other and having to spend time in each other’s company (because of their friends and work events), getting to know each other better and actually forming a friendship. There’s really a ton going on here and without giving it all away, the enemies to lovers is truly just the tip of the iceberg!

It’s super well written and such a great and unique storyline - hard to find these days! I definitely recommend this one to all!

I received an advance copy from NetGalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC (Entangled: Embrace), and this is my honest feedback.

Oh my gosh, this book was such a fun ride!! Being my first book from this author, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was immediately sucked right in.

Some Kind of Blunderful is a funny, steam-filled, rollercoaster of a love story between Mia and Alex. With an unconventional yet hilarious beginning, Mia and Alex’s lives kept colliding no matter how much they tried to stay apart. These characters ignored the OBVIOUS chemistry between them because of how they thought the outside world would see them. I absolutely loved the evolution of the relationship in this book and how the author continued to keep the main character’s friends in their lives. Mia and Alex faced very real relationship obstacles and it was so sweet to see them figure things out as they went.

Alex’s past just makes me want to give him the biggest hug and I think Mia is just what he needed in his life. He’s a very quick learner, though, when it comes to giving Mia whatever she needs, honestly a perfect man LOL. Mia is a bubbly school teacher who just wants to make everyone in her life happy. I love her drive, even if it’s to cut out thanksgiving turkey’s and do diy projects. I think the way she’s written is perfect for what Alex has needed his whole life 🥹

Some Kind of Blunderful made me laugh out loud (like I have multiple highlights on my kindle lol), blush, and swoon out of my mind!! I loved everything from Mia and Alex to the family and friends that made constant appearances and talked some sense into the main characters 🤣 Thank you so much to Entangled Publishing and the author for the gift of this ARC!! 💙🍷🐶

4.5 stars. In the case of boy meets girl from an online dating app, Alex Conroe and Mia Madden have a very awkward first date. Sparks weren’t even flying, but there was an attraction, yet they kept having near misses in conversation and body language. That felt so real to me when people are trying to feel each other out initially and not overstep or come off as too much in any particular way. It ended on a bit of a lackluster note with no promise of a repeat. Still, I found Alex to be endearing despite his ambitious, workaholic ways and Mia was simply looking for an opportunity to move on.

Mia grew up in a small town and is very close to her family so anyone she becomes involved with will also have to settle down and mingle with her relatives on a regular basis. Alex is not a prime candidate given that he’s been recently appointed as Mia’s father’s boss and has no designs on staying in one location or committing. Did I mention that Mia’s dad is not a fan of Alex at work?

So many reasons for Alex and Mia not to be together, but the universe is determined to keep them in the same circle as they continue to bump into each other. Despite the resistance, that chemistry begins to bloom as they get to know one another. I really enjoyed watching them slowly let down their walls and give each other the benefit of a doubt. The encounters are entertaining and the dialogue is engaging. The relationship development isn’t just about Mia’s dad as an obstacle, but for both of them to decide what they are willing to accept or give up for a significant other. Mia is hesitant due to being previously burned in a previous relationship whereas Alex isn’t sure where to begin with unconditional love and support having received none of it growing up. I was rooting for these two because I knew they’d find a way to make it work and to be worth all the sacrifices to get their deserved happy ending. I also really liked the secondary cast of characters, too. This book had a great blend of wit, conversation, steam and conflict.

This was super cute. I t this author and this book does not disappoint. Plus, who doesn't love a good enemies to lovers romance? I enjoyed a lot of laughs with this book. The banter between the hero and heroine is just plain fun. This author is sooooo good at it. This was well written and held my attention from start to finish. Mia and Alex had one date that didn't turn out well. However, they are constantly being thrown together for various reasons. I loved the spice and the great conflict. This one was a fun one. I can't wait to read another one from this author. Huge thanks to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for allowing me to read and review this book.

I loved Talk Flirty To Me and Planes, Trains, and All the Feels! To say her newest title had me over the moon excited….. it’s no lie!
Some Kind of Blunderful by Livy Hart is such a delightfully fun and cute romantic comedy. I was pulled into the story right from the beginning and completely engrossed till the end.
The characters were relatable and had great banter.
Hart writes the absolute best rom-coms and this is just one story that proves it.

Ugh this was such a sweet, cute read. Alex and Mia are top notch. I was laughing and dying from second hand embarrassment the entire book. Enemies to lovers has me in a chokehold and it’s one I never want to lose. Thank you Entangled for the eARC and for sharing Alex and Mia’s story with me.

Some Kind of Blunderful is the perfect example of why enemies to lovers is a timeless romance trope. This was fast paced and so well-written. I adored the forbidden attraction and that it was the story of bad dates between Alex and Mia. I loved the twist that made things a bit more difficult and complicated.
Really solid romantic comedy!

If you like romcoms with loveable characters and puppies, this one’s for you. Our leads, Alex and Mia’s, are a couple whose interactions really are full of wonderful blunders. Their story began when they matched on an app and tried to meet at a park full of food trucks but, at first, couldn’t find each other.  When they finally did, things went downhill fast as they accidentally said and did the wrong things. This scene and many more are really, really funny.

Mia’s dad has been complaining about his new young boss at work who is making his life miserable with lots of changes and when Mia stops by his office, she realizes Alex is her dad’s new boss. They don’t mention their date to her dad, thinking they’ll just forget about it. But they keep running into each other because their best friends, Ezra and Josie, are dating each other and they also see each other at her dad’s company events. There’s an employee night at an NBA game with a very funny scene with the Kiss Cam, and a sweet community project day at a dog shelter where they work in the playroom with puppies. When they are thrown together in an escape room with their best friends, we can see their attraction growing. They find they like each other and are looking forward to seeing each other and things get spicy hot when they go for a boat ride on Josie’s birthday booze cruise.

Mia is very sweet. She’s close to her family and teaches preschool. She’s really creative and likes to fix up furniture and old things she finds at thrift shops. But she is extra wary about starting a relationship after having her heart broken when she was stood up at the altar by her high school sweetheart. Alex’s mother was pregnant at fourteen and his aunt and uncle raised him but it wasn’t a loving family. His cousin calls him often needing money and Alex is trying to figure out how to cut him off. Work has always been his first priority and it’s wonderful to see happy things start to happen in his personal life as he spends time with Mia and their friends.

This story is clever, heartfelt and pretty steamy. There’s a forbidden love trope because Mia and Alex worry about how her dad will react if he finds out they're dating. I liked that there was no big misunderstanding or dramatic third act break up. It slowed down a little in the middle but their chemistry and witty banter were wonderful and I loved how they made each other laugh. The author dedicates the book to The Office Ladies and their podcast and said she was inspired for this story by The Office. This book was a sweet surprise and I highly recommend it.

This was just wunderful! 😉

I didn't want to put this down and binged it in one day. Told from each of their POVs, Mia meets Alex on a first date that doesn't go too well and she doesn't plan on seeing him again - but the universe conspires against her. He ends up being her father's new (and hated boss) and some hilarious scenes follow due to forced proximity.
I loved Mia's sense of humor and relatability. She was a bit vulnerable yet remained strong after having been hurt in her former relationship. Alex's character growth in this is great too, starting off from haughty corporate executive then proggressively transforming into a stellar cinnamon roll boyfriend who will do anything to care for and protect those he loves. Plus he likes to cook. Swoon!
I also loved, loved, loved the slow burn between these two because it happens how I would imagine it to go in real life. The author's descriptions and attention to small details in this regard were refreshing to read. The anticipation was killing me (in the best way) and I clapped when they finally have their first kiss! The eventual spicy scenes are just 🤌🌶️fantastic as well!
Aside from the humor and delicious romance, it was pleasantly surprising how well-written side characters were, with overall positive portrayals of family relationships, friendships, and loyalty. It made me wish I lived in their world.

As with most romances, there is a HEA that's also written in a realistic way.

This has many of the elements/tropes I enjoy in a rom-com while remaining true to life and not too cheesy:

✅ Relatable characters and situations
✅ Banter
✅ Meet Cute
✅ Enemies to Lovers
✅ Forced Proximity
✅ Forbidden Love
✅ Slow Burn
✅ Spice (open-door & 🔥🔥🔥 but not overwhelming to the plot)

Highly recommend!

Soooo, normally I’m not much of a rom-com type of girlie, but Livy Hart does rom-com right! I couldn’t help but fall in love with our MC’s Mia Madden and Alex Conroy, and I may have even giggled out loud a time or two.

Even if you’re not normally a rom-com type of person I highly recommend Some King of Blunderful if you’re looking for something cute and funny.

This was cute and fast paced. With lots of heat and forbidden attraction, this is the story of the bad dates between Alex and Mia. They have at least a couple of dates where they don't like each other, don't want to be together and keep getting put into situations they can't avoid. When she finds out that he is her dad's difficult boss, it gets even worse. Their attraction can't be denied and they secretly fall in love.

It was a little wordy and a little over complicated for a rom com, but was cute and easy to read while between softball games.

Where do I even start. This story hits all the targets.

Funny ✔️
Sweet ✔️
Relatable✔️
Spicy✔️
Swoon worthy moments ✔️✔️

Mia is the sweetest, family oriented girl next door. Alex is the guarded, career minded guy whose only focus in life has been his job.

When these two get put together, so much happens. The banter, the tension, the comedic conversations with totally realistic dialogue, and the relatability of dating and relationships that’s woven into this story was superb. Hands down one of my top favorite romcoms of the year.

Yes, yes, 100% yes!

I binged this book, I don’t know what was in it but I absolutely loved the authors writing style. I cant put my finger on it but it just felt fresh and not like another regurgitated rom com.

The meet disaster at the beginning had me laughing and I honestly thought we were going to meet Mr right at a different point in the book because I felt no chemistry at all between the two MC’s

Their relationship felt real and honestly relatable! I loved that there was no insta love and they really just developed feelings over time, it’s the slow burn lover in me.

Definitely pick this book up tomorrow (9/25) this is one you aren’t going to want to miss out on! A complimentary copy was provided.

Ladies there's a new book boyfriend in the world, meet Alex. He's successful, driven, and incredibly sweet and sexy.

Some Kind of Blunderful genuinely portrays my favorite genre, enemies to lovers. This book's leading man swoops in to revamp a company, and becomes enemy #1 for Mia whose father has given his whole life to his town and company. The push and pull of "I like you, but I shouldn't" to "ok but we have to hide it" has these two making a mess of their lives.

Mia's family is everything, including her sisters and Dad's happiness over her own. And, Alex's growth comes in learning he's not alone in life and love after his harsh upbringing.

Hart delivers a delightful ROMCOM in her follow-up to Planes, Trains and all the Feels.

Thank you Entangled Publishing for the complimentary copy.

I really, really liked this one!
Livy Hart was a new-to-me-author and I must say that after reading this book, I'm definitely going to read more of her work!
This book was so fun! I really enjoyed every single second spent reading this book and I absolutely was hooked to the story! I loved the characters, the banter, the will-they-won't-they and surprisingly, the enemies-to-lovers trope! I didn't expect to like it that much because it's a hard trope in romance for me to actually like. I definitely recommend this book!

This book was an absolute delight. I haven't ever read a book with two absolutely loveable characters. Mia is our heroine, she is so sweet and empathetic, an amazing teacher and she loves being close to her family. Alex is handsome, hardworking and successful businessman who is brought in to update a company's business practices. His biggest holdout turns out to be Mia's dad.

I could not put this book down. The chemistry between Mia and Alex is off the charts, plus the forbidden nature of their attraction just adds to fun. The book is also filled with wonderful side characters. I highly recommend this book, it's wonderful.

I voluntarily read and reviewed and advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for the arc.

NICUnurse’s Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭑

After reading and thoroughly enjoying Planes, Trains, and All the Feels, there was no way I would miss reading Livy Hart’s next book. I know the story is marketed as a rom-com, but I honestly didn’t feel like it was your typical one. It definitely had some solid rom-com moments and elements, but there was more emotion and character growth with the hero and heroine than what you read in most of them. And their relationship developed so organically that it felt more realistic than most rom-coms tend to lean toward. The slow burn was its own kind of foreplay, which led to some spicy scenes, but they didn’t overpower the developing relationship, either. Neither main character was more dominant, with both struggling with their pasts in what felt like equal measure. The supporting cast of characters wasn’t overwhelming, and all served an essential purpose in the story. And the plot ebbed and flowed like the soothing waves rolling in and out on the perfect sunny beach day. It was, simply put, a well-balanced story all around. Oh, and I’m from Georgia, so I was paying attention to the setting, and with some leeway given because this is fiction after all, the author did a great job incorporating actual places into the story without it feeling disingenuous. My only beef with the ending is the lack of a good scene between Alex and Mia’s dad, where they talk out their differences or whatever they would have done to come to the point where they understood each other better and fixed their relationship. Regardless, Livy Hart hit this one out of the park, and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s next from her.

Overall this book was not for me. Note this review contains spoilers.

What I did like:
The adoption scene was pretty cute and Alex’s devotion to Andi was sweet.

Alex’s character development as he came to realize what he wanted in his life.

What I didn’t like:
The theme of Mia and Alex sneaking around and hiding their relationship from Mia’s dad felt very juvenile for established adults.

Josie was the worst best friend. The dinner scene where Mia’s ex-fiancé’s parents joined the group was incredibly awkward and Josie completely ignored the situation she put Mia in because she so obsessed with her own boyfriend. Even Alex (still a stranger to Mia at this point) could see how distressed Mia was. This next part is minor but while reading I just thought, the audacity of Josie to order dessert and prolong this insufferable event longer!

Alex’s knee jerk proposal I can understand given his lack of experience and role models of what a relationship should look like. But Mia’s response to have her stuff “secretly” moved in while Alex is at work??? They had just barely started acknowledging that they were in a relationship. Boundaries. Communication. I was more baffled by her response and that Alex’s best friend would agree to her plan.

What I would have liked to see:
At one point Mia’s dad gave Alex advice, as he recognized that Alex was a lot like him when he was younger. Alex had the thought that no one ever cared enough to give him advice. I thought this hinted at potential that they could develop the father-son type of relationship that neither of them had (Alex coming from a neglectful home and Mia’s dad only having daughters). I thought that would have been really sweet to see develop.

I would have liked to see some type of closure with Alex’s family. His rocky relationship with his cousin is brought up a few times, we learn that his cousin owes a lot of money and a drug lord knows where he lives, and then poof. It’s never spoken of again. Did Alex ever talk to his cousin to stand up for himself and the way his cousin abuses their familial ties? Did the drug lord ever come for this cousin? Or was it all a lie to try and guilt more money out of Alex?

Lastly, I wish we saw more growth with Mia. She is consumed with taking care of others and not herself.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Netgalley, Entangled Teen and Livy Hart for providing me with the opportunity to read and review this advanced reader copy (ARC).

Entangled Teen consistently delivers enjoyable reads, and this book was no exception. I found myself thoroughly immersed in the story and captivated by the dynamics between the characters. The author's portrayal of the characters felt refreshingly realistic, which made the reading experience all the more engaging.

Mia, in particular, stood out to me as a character I truly admired. Her thoughtfulness and genuine care for her students as a teacher, as well as her devotion to her family, added depth to her personality. As her relationship with Alex developed, it was clear that her commitment to him would be unwavering. I appreciated how the author handled moments of angst, with Mia seeking counsel and making thoughtful decisions that contrasted with Alex's impulsive nature. This contrast made their love story feel all the more authentic.

The inclusion of an epilogue was a delightful touch, providing a satisfying conclusion to the narrative. It left me with a sense of closure and contentment.

If I could make one request, it would be for the author to explore the romance between best friends Ezra and Josie in a future work, as I've become invested in their story as well.

In summary, this book from Livy Hart was a thoroughly enjoyable read with realistic characters and a heartfelt storyline. I highly recommend it to fellow readers, and I look forward to more offerings from this author in the future.
