This was a cute little rom com that was quick and easy to read. The main characters, Mia and Alex, have great chemistry which made it easy to fall in love with both of them.
This is labeled as an enemies to lovers but the enemies element was lacking for me personally. What it seemed like was more of a push and pull or a will they, won’t they. I loved how they kept getting pushed together in awkward circumstances. The small town setting was perfection and I loved how entangled everyone was. Mia’s family and Josie and Ezra were such fun side characters and I really enjoyed the simple moments everyone shared together.
My main complaint for this book was that there were some loose ends that I kept thinking about. The main conflict in the book revolves around Alex and Mia’s dad but we never actually see the two of them resolve it. There’s also an issue with Alex’s cousin that never gets resolved. Other than those two issues, I really enjoyed the book!
this is such a fun, sweet, spicy story! Mia & Alex do have a blunder of a first-meet that only gets worse as they realize who each other is in their lives. I loved seeing them fight their attraction to one another and ultimately come together so fiery. I especially loved reading this from Mia's point of view because she also has to work through some self-imposed guilt and responsibility to her family and take what she wants from someone she thinks she can be happy with. Alex is also an unexpected sweetheart. I could tell as I was reading that he didn't love being the one to hurt Mia or her father, but he is only doing his job and can't make business decisions based on how his potential girlfriend would feel about it. Ultimately, I loved how open and honest Alex was with his feelings once they became clear to hime. And I loved seeing Mia work through what her priorities are and healthy ways to enforce them, ultimately finding her happily ever after with Alex.
another amazing Livy Hart romance, she is becoming a favorite of mine very quickly :)
I really enjoyed this book! I honestly read it in a day! It was funny and romantic and everything I needed from a romantic comedy. The relationship between Mia and her family was everything to me, and I loved the family bond featured. All three sisters (plus Josie of course!) have such an amazing bond and continuously support one another and it’s beautiful.
I love the development of her romance with Alex, in the first chapter I couldn’t believe how different they were, but as the book progressed, they both compromised, and discovered they were more alike then they initially thought. The chemistry was amazing, and I really cannot recommend this enough to anyone looking for a cute and slightly spicy romance!
Some Kind of Blunderful is a bit of an enemy to lovers romance/forbidden romance that is inevitable to happen. Their first date starts off horribly and seems to go nowhere even though they are both hoping to make it work. The more that Mia and Alex are accidentally forced to interact, the more you can tell they misjudged their first impressions. Thankfully they don't let the obstacle of Alex being Mia's dad's new boss prevent them from dating and more. This book was so fun to read and even the conflict parts were worked through quickly with Mia and Alex communicating. Every character in the book was a delight!
Thank you NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the chance to review the ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you to Entangled and NetGalley for providing a DRC of this title for review.
I had so much fun reading Some Kind of Wonderful, which had top-notch banter, swoon-worthy chemistry, and characters that you wanted to root for. I also loved that Hart pointed out in the acknowledgements that she wanted to write a love story between two ordinary characters just going about their lives to show that love can happen in the everyday moments. After reading and enjoying Planes, Trains, and All the Feels, I'm so glad this one was also a win and confirms for me that Livy Hart is an author to look out for. 5 stars!
I got this book as an ARC.
I enjoyed this book. It was super cute and fluffy.
This book follows Mia who is pretty much over dating app's. She is convinced that they are paved with hot profiles but when she goes on the dates they are just lame men. When she goes on a date with Alex, her point is proven when she believes her date is lousy even though he is super hot. But things take a turn when she finds out that Alex is her dads new hot-shot boss that her dad can not stop complaining about.
But what happens when they are constantly thrown together in dating situations? After going on double dates, having to mingle at picnics and being trapped on a cruise, Mia is starting to fall for Alex.
This book is funny. It's a Rom-Com Romance book. If you are looking for your next fluffy yet funny read this one is it.
Laugh out loud and full on Cringe moments in this book - Livy definitely has an awesome writing style.
Mia is dating, single after her failed engagement tore her apart, and put a rift between life long family friends. Not only is Mia dating, she is online dating. She has swiped right on Alex, who looks hot and has an online profile that interested her, in her small town, there aren't many new people to date.
To begin with Alex is late, so imagine her surprise while when talking to her best friend on the phone, he walks up behind her and gets the most cringeworthy part of the conversation before introducing himself, cue the most awkward date in existence, on both parts. Mia is messy and creative and a teacher of small children. Alex is put together and smart and doesn't really like kids. They are two very polar opposites, that keep getting thrown together, and they try to hate each other, sworn enemies. Until they aren't.
This book is hilarious, there are some really big cringe moments, some great lives and Alex and Mia keep being thrown together regardless of their attempts to avoid each other. Livy Hart never disappoints, this is my second LH ARC and I hope it wont be the last because she is fantastic.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc.
Mia Madden's dating life is not it. But things take a turn when her disastrous first date with Alex Conroy, who is very hot but totally the opposite of what she's after, ends up being her dad's new hot shot boss who he despises.
Torn between her loyalty for her father, the ever growing chemistry between her and Alex, and the fact that they keep meeting each other because their best friends are dating, Mia is feeling the pressure.
This was honestly so much fun. Livy Hart is a good author, I've read her previous novel, Talk Flirty to Me, and this one was definitely much more fun. It's a perfect mix between sexy and funny and cute and I loved reading everything. Mia and Alex were both very well-written and even the side characters, like Josie and Ezra were fun. The whole premise was interesting, the plot was well paced and it was just a very enjoyable read.

Mia and Alex meet on a terrible blind date, where they have very little chemistry and everything seems to go wrong. Then the book moves into a new take on workplace romance - Alex is Mia's dad's new boss, and her dad hates him.
Over time, and lots of interactions including their dating best friends, Mia and Alex develop feelings for each other and end up exploring them.
It was a cute book with lots of interesting side characters. It was inevitable that her dad would find out and throw a wrench in things. There were also a few loose ends plot points that I would have liked to see resolved a little more.
What a fun read this was!
I loved how there wasn't an instant attraction between Mia and Alex. There was a great build in their relationship and many obstacles in their story.
I laughed several times in this as well which is always a fun time!
I just overall really enjoyed this story and I will definitely having a look at the authors other works because I really liked the style of writing.
Livy Hart, once again, wrote a knockout, hilarious, heartfelt romcom. This book was fantastic and I 10/10 recommend this!!

Livy perfectly nailed the transition from laugh-out-loud funny to deeply emotional. Mia and Alex were such a great couple and watching every disastrous encounter between them as they discovered how deeply they felt about each other was so rewarding as a reader. It was unputdownable.
If you enjoyed Planes, Trains, and All the Feels, you’re going to love Some Kind of Blunderful which comes out in 1 week!! Please don’t ask me to pick which book is my favorite because it’s impossible.
Thank you to Livy, Entangled Publishing, Netgalley and the #joyfulchaos bookclub for the ARC!
I am a huge fan of Livy Hart. Her books are just so fun and entertaining, and this one is no different. And I truly think her writing just keeps getting better.
Some Kind of Blunderful has some amazing, trope-y romance full of fun banter and witty characters. Alex and Mia have amazing chemistry, and I love their attraction that just won’t go away.
Trope wise, we have a forbidden romance, forced proximity, “bang it out of our system” (kind of, they get addicted pretty quickly), and plenty of steam! I highly recommend this book for rom com lovers looking for a quick and fun read!
Now what are the chances Josie and Ezra can get a book? :)
Some Kind of Blunderful takes your typical mold of “boy meets girl, boy and girl don’t jive, boy and girl are constantly running into each other, boy falls in love with girl” and gives it a new breath of love. This formula of writing is almost guaranteed for a knock out story but Livy Hart creates characters that are so lovely and easy to connect with in a way that feels different from other novels with the same formula. Some Kind of Blunderful has a truly amazing portrayal of family values, especially that of the father daughter relationship. Mia and Alex’s relationship is a result of many trials and tribulations that eventually end in a way that wraps up the story but still leaves you wanting to know how the rest of their lives pan out. There are some character development points I felt could have been explored, like the full extent of Mia’s heartbreak form her last relationship, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
SKoB was fantastic and so much fun!
This was my first book by Livy Hart and definitely won't be my last.
I loved everything about this - the tension, the drama, the banter - everything was *chef's kiss*.
Alex and Mia's story had me hooked from the first chapter and I couldn't stop reading. LH absolutely nailed the transition from laugh-out-loud comedy to deeply emotional romance.
The characters felt so real and relatable and watching their relationship develop, from their first disastrous encounter, which was hilariously awkward, to the connection they form from getting to know each other being forced together into all of these situations unable to deny or avoid their scorching attraction, was so emotionally fulfilling.
The side characters and family dynamics were also great, I loved Mia's best friend and her relationship with Ezra.
One of the things i absolutely love and it was included here was "we shouldn't do this" trope and let me tell you.... it almost killed me. The tension it created, the angst, it was soooooooo, soo good!
I literally have nothing to complain about - from the dual POV to the pacing everything was perfect.
I certainly cannot wait for LH's next book!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
Some Kind Of Blunderful is a very solid, well-developed novel, both with the romance and the characters, but unfortunately it didn't really win me over, I couldn't feel very connected with the story itself, I think I would like it more if the book had a different pace and the romance took a little longer to start, but maybe that's just something a little more personal. The book doesn't have any major problems and I think many readers will like it! Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an arc in exchange for an honest review!
I LOVED this book. Livy Hart does it again- writing a romcom that I can't bear to put down and makes my face hurt from smiling so hard. This book is just so darn cute.
Alex and Mia are pretty electric from the get go but also both so painfully awkward at people-ing that their missed moments and their "almost" dates are both hilarious, frustrating, and 100% relatable. There were definitely moments where I wanted to hide in a hole rather than watch these two characters misread each other, their situation, and their own growing feelings. But it was all worth it for those spicy scenes. My goodness does Hart know how to write them!
I honestly have nothing to complain about or pick apart with this book. Every novel Livy writes gets better and better and I love watching her writing and her career grow. 10/10 if you love a romcom enemies to lovers- this is your book.
In hindsight, reading this on the plane ride to my sister's wedding probably wasn't the best idea. There were so many laugh out loud and swoony moments that I couldn't contain myself. I loved Mia's chaos and the way Alex embraced everything about her. At first, I wasn't sure where the tension was going to come from after their failed date, but I was pleasantly surprised to find he was her dad's boss. That storyline was perfectly done! Aging out of something you love or being passed up for promotion is something everyone deals with at some point, and I loved her dad and his grumpiness about it. The romance was believable, fun, and heart-warming, and the steam was perfect. I love everything Livy Hart has written thus far and can't wait to see what she comes up with next!~

"I don't want you to leave, you don't want to go...Can we stop pretending this isn't real?"
Some King of Blunderful is an standalone adult contemporary romance following Mia and Alex, two very different people who have a rough start when their date goes awry, only to find themselves confronted with each other time and time again through friends and family. Yet, despite what made them walk away from each other the first time, they find themselves drawn to each...if only Alex didn't happen to be Mia's father's hated boss AND their best friends are dating... Not too complicated right?
This is a sweet and fun rom-com that is perfect to dive into when you need something light and quick. I love Mia's sweetness and optimism as it works so well with Alex's charisma. Everything about them doesn't appear to fit but as they find each other time and time again and peel back their stories we see how well they actually work.
The spice in this book is about a 2.5 spicy pepper out of 5 spicy pepper. It is a slow burn as we start seeing spice around the 50% mark but once it starts we get this push and pull of Mia and Alex trying figure out what they are. Their romance is the core of this book and once they started to acknowledge something was there I was hooked. Their teasing banter, ability to be vulnerable with each other, and the slow realization what was happening had me grinning from ear to ear.
"You do not hug fair."
"Neither do you...Would a kiss be safer?"
The world building is quite light but you get enough to understand the crux of the conflict at play with Mia's father' company and how Alex ends up there to Mia's career. It is by no means a deep dive but the gist is present. The story itself is a bit slow to begin as with each new interaction and confrontation the story does pick up - I would say around slow down is around the 30-45% mark before the delicious tension arrives and I adored it. There is an element of forbidden romance, dislike to love, and coziness that just makes this an effortless read. The ending is the perfect cherry on top for the sweet treat this book is.
If you want a sweet contemporary romance with good spice, a bad date turned forbidden romance, and all the banter you could want then this book is right up your alley. I now realize I have been missing out on Livy Hart books and need to read more ASAP.
Thank you Entangled for the e-ARC!

“When she moves close to me after not being close to me, I have to recalibrate.”
What a fun and delightful rom com!
Alex and Mia are pseudo enemies to lovers who just can’t stop bumping into each other after a disastrous blind date. With every interaction you can see how they’re slowly falling for each other, while they try desperately to fight the attraction.
The elephant in the room? He’s her dads new corporate hot shot boss, who dad complains about constantly. Newsflash - Alex isn’t a bad guy at all, he’s just trying to do his job. Mia is his employees preschool teacher daughter whose relationship shy after a painful wedding day breakup.
A great cast of characters rounds out the story with supporting players of friends, family, and co-workers. Mia has an entire support system of friends and family, while Alex has a painful past with zero roots. They bring out the best in each other while learning to stand on their own and be their best selves. Livy Hart did an excellent job of fleshing out her characters. You truly understand them as both individuals and a pair of people falling hopelessly in love.
The story moves along at a nice pace. It has sexy moments, cheesy moments, and mundane moments of everyday life that truly add heart to the story. I loved seeing these characters having relationships, and day to day interactions with their loved ones. Reading Mia spending the day at Costco shopping with her sisters was super fun and relatable. The characters felt real and I was rooting for them and their HEA the entire time.
Loved these characters and their love story.
Thank you so much Entangled Publishing for the arc. And thank you NetGalley as well!
I enjoyed reading about Mia and Alex. The story moved a bit fast for me and I wished there was more conversation between the two main characters. The side characters were nice as well. Overall this story shows two different ways couples could fall in love. It was funny and kept me coming back to see what other situations could be cooked up.
