Opposites attract in this fun Rom-Com where every date is packed full of….well, blunders! Some Kind of Blunderful had me in stitches the whole time - this book is SO funny! From the first date, with a whole bottle of purse wine, to the kiss cam at the basketball game (hint: she doesn’t kiss him), to the Baby Depot scene - this is comedy of epic proportions.

Seriously though, you DO NOT want to miss this book! I read it in one sitting, and I loved every minute of it. Livy Hart is officially my new favorite Rom-Com author - I will buy everything she writes. It is a slow burn, but when it gets spicy, it gets SPICY! The male main character, Alex, while a corporate hustler, is such a cinnamon roll character. The female main character is a teacher who loves her family. Problem is, her father and Alex DO NOT get along…

This book is SO fun, and you do NOT want to miss it! Seriously, go get it RIGHT NOW! You will be up giggling all night. :)

3 ⭐️ This is a cute story about how even though a first date can go horribly wrong, sometimes fate has other plan.

My Thoughts:

This was my second book by Livy Hart and while I enjoyed Planes, Trains, and All The Feels more, I thought it was cute.

- The MCs, Mia and Alex, are really well-developed and wonderful characters. I liked them both as individuals and as a couple. They also both have realistic 'issues' that they're able to work through by the end of the story.

- This is an open-door romance with very explicit spicy scenes. Some of these moments take place in a car, utility closet, and hot tub. Let me just say, that hot tub scene is seared into my brain forever. As a bonus, the tension and pining leading up is delicious!

- I think what I love most about Livy Hart's writing is how real the characters and the conflict feels. Their love isn't perfect - it's awkward at times and they make mistakes - but that's what makes it so real. Yeah, sure there are some silly rom-com elements to the story but I could easily seeing Mia and Alex existing in the real world and falling in love.

- Mia's friendship with Josie is so cute. They are so honest and supportive of each other - true friendship goals. I really appreciated when Josie tells Mia she needs to do what's best for herself and stop fighting her dad's battles.

So what didn't I enjoy?

- This is definitely a me thing, but I am not a big fan when the story centers on character's who are super close with their family and their parent's opinion of the love-interest is the main conflict of the story. Alex is Mia's dad's new boss, who he doesn't like because he's young and filled the job position he wanted. So the entire story, Mia feels guilty for liking Alex and they keep their relationship a secret because of him. Mind you, these adults are in their late twenties. I get this is a realistic and reasonable response for Mia considering her situation, however, I personally wouldn't let my father dictate my love life. Because this is basically the entire conflict of the story, I didn't really enjoy it as much and I couldn't connect with the characters like I wanted.

I- didn't feel like there was a satisfying resolution to the conflict between Alex and Mia's dad. Mia's dad is a huge dick to Alex and essentially says he doesn't want them together. Then, he has a fight with Mia and says the same thing. A few days later, Mia and her dad talk and he does a complete 180 by apologizing and says he won't stand in their way. But we never see him apologize to Alex for the rude things he said, nor do we see them have a heart to heart, which to me is necessary since this was the main conflict of the story.

I sometimes skimmed during some of the non-dialogue.The writing isn't bad. It's just sometimes a bit wordy and unnecessarily descriptive. I had this same issue in her other book, so it's got to just be a writing style preference.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.

Some Kind of Blunderful swooped in unexpectedly and has become one of my favorite contemporary romances I've read this year. Mia, the FMC, is a pre school teacher who was recently left at the altar and is currently trying out online dating with not great results. She matches with Alex, who just moved to her small town. Their first date doesn't go well when Alex finds out that she is the daughter of one of his coworkers who doesn't particularly like him. Things get more complicated when their best friends are dating in a pretty serious relationship and they continue to see each other socially.

I really enjoyed the pace of this book, the characters and their growth, and the romance. For me, it was a great mix of external and internal relationship angst and I really liked the author's writing style as well.

I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a contemporary small town romance with a little bit of a forbidden trope to it.

This book was so adorable, I’m obsessed with anything that she writes. The enemies to lovers and accidental forced proximity tropes of this book blended so well together. Plus, the banter between the main characters really keeps a smile on your face. And the way Alex acts over a puppy just makes my heart melt. If anyone is looking for a quick and easy read romance, this is it right here. It had just the right level of spice that made the book just feel complete. I would highly recommend this book to anyone because it’s one of the cutest romance books I’ve read so far this year.

This story was hilarious. Mia and Alex love story starts with a terrible first date which end with both hoping to never see each other again, but they live in a small town and that is just wishful thinking. Somehow their paths just keep crossing and there is so much they can resist.

I loved this couple, they are perfect for each other. this book is full of love and wit. Totally recommend it!

I'm older and not really into chick lit but this novel caught my interest, primarily because the main characters, Alex and Mia, are so obviously "wrong" for each other until they are so "right:!" Fate doesn't give them much of a chance to not fall in love as everywhere they go, they run into each other, whether it's a blind date on an app, a blind date with Mia's bestie and her beau, an office outing... You name it, they keep running into each other, and the more they see each other, the more fascinated each becomes with the other. It's another way to show that first impressions can be dead wrong. Well-written and fun to read, I heartily recommend this book to readers of all ages and genres as you may be pleasantly surprised. And, yes, there are some steamy scenes, but usually tasteful! I did received an ARC of this novel but my opinions are my own.

Such a cute and funny romcom! Mia and Alex had a terrible first date but the real problem is they can't stop running into each other! It's almost as though they are meant to be.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!

After Mia and Alex have an awkward first date, she expects to never see him again. Wrong. He’s the young new boss at her father’s work, who her father despises. Oh and when she agrees to go on a blind double date with her best friend Josie, Josie’s new boyfriend Ezra, and Ezra’s best friend… Alex is the best friend. He’s her date! This is Mia’s nightmare. They’re thrown together time and again through corporate events (hi hot guy holding volunteering with dogs) and their friends. Oh boy. The. Tension. So. Much. Tension. It’s so good!! Alex should be her enemy, right? Mia should be off limits to Alex, right? Wrong. Once again Livy Hart had me laughing and swooning. I had butterflies from the chemistry, the tension, the longing. Textbook romcom! Mia is so loyal to everyone in her life. Alex is so sweet and soft. I loved this so much!!

4.5 stars!!

After reading Plane, Trains, and All the Feels I wasn't sure how I felt about Livy Hart as an author, but as more people proclaimed their love for this read I decided to give her another chance. I'm happy to say I really enjoyed this book and many of the issues I had with the writing of her other book are nowhere to be seen in this one (my qualms were not enough dialogue and too much internal repetitive chatter.)

This isn't quite a hate on first sight meeting but it definitely is awkward and does NOT go well due to miscommunication and assumptions. The universe apparently isn't satisfied with that because these two keep getting paired together over and over again, forcing them to reluctantly get to know each other. When the lightbulb moment that Alex is Mia's dad's new boss happens, they try and force their blooming attraction back into a locked box never to be thought of again, but these feelings won't be contained and the two MC's find themselves unable to stop.

I LOVED the evolution of their attraction! The anticipation of their first kiss was done so well it had me waiting with baited breath myself. I'm here to tell you it did not disappoint as it was one of the best first kisses I've read in a while! Pair that with their down and dirty activities once they get there and they are definitely worth reading, no skimming the sex scenes here!! Alex and Mia are HOT together.

I need my characters to grow and I felt like each MC achieved that. Alex in a more obvious way with his desire to put down roots, create attachments, and do anything to help Mia achieve her goals. Mia's growth was more subtle, but when family is as important to someone as it is Mia, approval and acceptance is HUGE. Keeping her independence and not changing herself to fit a mold was also a top priority.

Overall I REALLY enjoyed this read. It had me smiling and sighing with it's cuteness, humorous moments, and sexy times. Highly recommend!

3.75 ⭐️ rounded to 4. When I first started reading, I was a bit skeptical. I felt like I was being sold on the profession of teaching rather than reading a romance book, but around the 50% mark I was 100% invested to the point where I’m BEGGING Livy to give us a sequel so we can see what happens next with Alex and Mia.

Mia, a school teacher extraordinaire, accidentally goes on a date with her dads new nemesis Alex. Somehow after that first disastrous meeting, they keep ending up in the same place at the same time.

One thing leads to another and sparks fly, but what’s going to happen when Mia’s dad finds out about them? Find out September 25th!!

This book was just the right amount of Forced Proximity along with a little dislike to love. I was so hooked I read through this book within 2 days. I loved loved loved our FMC and the MMC and their dynamic had me giggling and anxious to see where this book was going to take me and I was not disappointed at all. Livy Hart had me loving this story from the smallest character to the biggest, and every story point in between we really got a solid reluctant found family that just made this story work so well.

Blind dates are a pretty normal for single people today, and bad blind dates happen every day.

Well, Mia and Alex are a blind date getting worst when they find our that they have to repeat it again and again as their best friends are an item while Alex is Mia's dad's Nemesis.

This romance was cute and felt very real. Not too perfect. And a super final kiss cam that is worth the whole read.

Thank to Netgalley and Entangled for providing an eARC in exchange of a honest review.

"The situation isn't ideal." His hands land on my thighs. I hate that I relish their return to my body. He shakes his head as his rough palms slide higher. "But I can't help it. I won't apologize for wanting you.
And, fuck, do I want you, Mia."

So so good. Wow !!! I loved this!!!
I had such an amazing time reading this enemies to lovers story with kinda forbidden relationship, father’s boss romance and so much forced proximity and fun banter!!!!
And it was even spicy!!!! So I guess I can say it had them all!!!
Alex and Mia’s story starts with a blind date gone wrong and then another blind date with their friends gone even worse, up to the point when he realises that the attraction they share is quite undeniable. But, unfortunately for them both, they can’t act on it because he is her father’s new boss (we don’t have a big age gap though only a couple of years) so having any sort of romantic involvement is not possible at all!!!
But when the world seems to be keeping them in forced proximity, and maybe destiny wants them together, and the slow burn starts being unbearable… what to do if not indulge in each other? This romance book was so so good and it’s such fun! The romance between the main characters is wonderful - blunderful - to read and the side characters are even better, lightening up the whole experience. And Alex … well let’s just say he knows what he wants and he is not afraid to take it!!!

“A large man in possession of a tiny, feisty puppy should be illegal in all fifty states. It's so hot and precious I can't cope, so I mostly just try not to look at him.”

The story begins with a disastrous meet-cute between Mia and Alex. When they thought they would never meet each other again in the small town of Avondale, well, they are in for a treat.
The main characters were charming in their own way, but together their chemistry was great. The side characters didn't fall short. They each have strengths and were well-written to support the story entirely. Because of that, I think that the side characters had their own mini-stories in the book. Some of these didn't seem to have a proper ending. Maybe this could open the door to a new book focused on these characters. Although I love that the misunderstanding between Mia and Alex was not dragged out too much, the workplace drama/conflict between Alex and Richard took a little bit too long and didn't really have a proper conclusion to it. It could have been easily solved with proper communication, which I was looking forward to, but that didn't really happen. The pacing towards the end of the book was so fast that it ended abruptly. Overall, the book was amazing!

P.S. Was I the only one thinking Josie's mom and Mia's dad could be a thing? lmao.

Thank you Entangled Publishing and Netgalley for the digital arc in exchange for an honest review. Everything in this review has been written willing fully.

I love a good enemies-to-lovers romance and this one fits the bill perfectly. This story is funny and super sexy with a leading man who is just so nice and charming. It’s hard to believe that Mia would ever hesitate. However, he is technically the enemy.

Hart delivers a romantic comedy that gives us that age-old pull of good and bad in the romance category; “I want to, but I can’t; I want to like you, but I’m not supposed to; Okay, I really like you, but we have to hide it now.…”

The family dynamics and the good friend circle are alive and well in this story, and the interactive dynamics add a lot to that delicate growing romance.

Some Kind of Blunderful is a super addicting story that is sexy and smart; a delightful read that was impossible to put down! Hart has a winner with this sweet romp!! I hope there is plenty more on the horizon from Hart.

I loved this book from the very first scene, their first date at the food trucks. Right through every time they were unwillingly thrown together. Workplace romances usually aren't a favourite of mine, but this one added a twist in that they didn't work together, rather he worked with her dad and they were rivals.

And the spicy scenes were just right!!

This book truly was blunderful in every aspect, it truly loved it!!!

***BOOK REVIEW***
⭐️: 5

You guys aren’t even ready for this book. Honestly, I’m not sure how @entangled_publishing manages to always come out with the best books possible, but they never disappoint.

This is the 2nd @livyhartromance book I’ve read and I gotta tell you. She’s way up there in my top favorite romance authors. She writes witty and hilarious banter, sexual tension like no other and spice that could steam up your car windows.

Much like many of you, I rarely read the synopsis and just pick up books with cute cartoon covers. So in the beginning when we meet the MMC I thought he was just a throwaway character and didn’t really like him with the FMC. And I think this was done on purpose. Because watching Alex and Mia try and fight it but be brought together time and time again and have to fight their attraction, it was truly a masterpiece.

I love a book that has a fierce woman come into her own and ends with her having the confidence to go for what she wants. Mia is a silly, quirky teacher and she reminds me of so many people I know. She was so relatable and fun and I loved every second of this book.

Some Kind of Blunderful releases on 9/25 and you need it so bad. If only so we can fangirl over it together 💖

Thank you Entangled for the early copy!

Any book that could be perfectly made into a great rom com is a win for me!

It took me a little bit to like Mia's character but I loved Alex from the start. The way he describes her is *chef's kiss*. There was so much witty banter that felt very seamless and natural. The progression of their romance was the best in my opinion because I LOVE the build up.

GIVE ME ALL THE ANGST!!

I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun rom com...as a matter of fact, I've already told many people to read it!

𝘚𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘖𝘧 𝘉𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘶𝘭 opens up with Mia on a date with Alex and it's going terribly bad with no hope of any connection.
Only fate has a different plan, as the two are thrust into the other's life again and again, there begins a tentative bond and maybe if they can get over their differences... even love.

Mia is family oriented, to her, her father and sisters mean the world and when Alex turns out to be her father's biggest nemesis... it's obvious what's to happen. But it shouldn't be this heartbreaking, right?

That man is whipped! Well he wasn't initially but then somethings happen- oh it's enemies to lovers, you know the drill!

But yeah... it's a good storyline, though, I wish there were a few moments of Mia and Alex outside of the typical scenes, something to add a little extra flavour.
