I received an ARC of this title for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Some Kind of Blunderful is all kinds of FUN-derful! The slowest of burns, but the fire is HOT when it finally catches and the flames are high.

This was one of those that is truly just a joy to read from start to finish. Great banter, top tier character growth simultaneously individually and as a pair, and LOTS of laughs to be had within these pages!

Big thanks to Entangled and NetGalley for the ARC.

This book was just all kinds of blunderful! A first date gone wrong to a little bit of tug-of-war to a father vs. Boyfriend issue to the happily ever after that this couple deserved. This book had all the feels and most times, I felt like both characters were so misunderstood. Very happy with how the book evolved and ended - especially between Alex & Richard.

Livy Hart is quickly becoming an auto-read author for me after I really enjoyed her book, Talk Flirty to Me, and now enjoyed Some Kind of Blunderful! Her books are so much fun, the banter between the characters is absolute perfection, and I love that the books also have a good amount of spice in them.

Mia and Alex have a disastrous first date and then when they keep getting thrown together since Alex is Mia’s father’s boss, the situations were so cute as you start to see them falling for each other. I liked that Mia made Alex question everything he thought he wanted out of life and softened his character throughout the story. I really enjoyed all the side characters as well, and would gladly read a story about Josie and Ezra!

From the second hand embarrassment to the fate of their relationship, Livy had me in a chokehold with Mia and Alex’s relationship. Despite their effort to stay away from each other, the universe kept bringing them together.

Livy Hart is now an auto buy author for me. This story was so wonderful. Not just the story of Mia and Alex but also with all of the secondary characters. Every part of this book was relatable and relative to the story.

Also, this book was steamy and the spice was so well written.

Thank you @livyhartromance for this amazing read! It is out 9/25!

Thank you to @netgalley for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Honestly, Livy just doesn't miss. Some Kind of Blunderful was smart, funny, tender, and incredibly hot. The journey from their disaster of a first date, to tolerance, to lust, and finally to real feelings was so effortless I barely saw the dynamics shifting. This book was partially inspired by an aspect of The Office--how regular, real-life things can be just as monumental as big plot points in other media. The trip to buy a baby shower gift, for example. It's so simple, but it was so memorable for the character journey. They go to Costco! Have a moment in William Sonoma and a big step forward at a backyard BBQ. These simple settings and life moments create so much room for the characters to just be, especially since Mia and Alex come from such different backgrounds. Their uphill battle was a joy to read and the secondary characters made things so much fun. I secretly hope Livy keeps writing bigger families because each member always charms me.

I swooned, I cried, I yelled (mostly "ALEX WHAT ARE YOU DOING"), and I laughed so hard. There were many moments / phrases in this book that made me set it down and sigh because Livy did NOT have to go that hard, but she did and my heart simply melted. I am now without a heart and it is her fault.

Ten out of five stars. I can't wait to see what she steals my heart with next.

Fun read! I read enjoyed this. There was a little more sex than I expected, but I loved the romance. The characters were well developed. I knew they’d end up together, but it was fun watching the story unfold.

Thank you Netgalley, entangled the author and @jsbookishnook for the #joyfulchaos bookclub book. I have read and loved Livy Hart first 2 books and this is my new top favorite book. The banter, the attraction the struggle and strength of the to MC was really good to see. The heat was perfection. I look forward to each and every Livy Hart release.

I would love to have a paperback for my forever shelves.

Some Kind of Blunderful includes:

-awkward dates
-oh no I hate you to oh no we’re in love
-opposites attract
-TENSION
-“we shouldn’t be doing this”

Some Kind of Blunderful is some kind of wonderful. (Ha. Sorry not sorry.) Mia is a bright, colorful teacher still living in her hometown, while Alex is a staid fixer for corporations who moves constantly. When they match on a dating app and their first date is a disaster, neither of them expects to see the other. Except their best friends are dating, so they keep getting stuck together.

This is filled with humor and tension and lots of colorful side characters and disastrous situations. (I particularly enjoyed the escape room.)

Thank you to Netgalley, Livy Hart, and Entangled Publishing for the ARC, this review is my own.

When Mia's awkwardly bad date winds up being her dad's boss, what's a girl to do? He's hot and he's just her type, but Alex represents the corporate world and that just won't do for Mia. Mia and Alex meet on an app, but they have a horribly awkward first date. After the date, they think they won't ever see each other again, but they keep running into each other. Their best friends, Josie and Ezra, are dating each other, and Alex is the boss to Mia's dad! They try to stay away from each other, but they just can't! Their relationship is so genuine, and I couldn't help but fall in love with both of them. I loved this book, and you will too!

Read if you like:
- Enemies to lovers
- opposites attract
- Awkward meet cutes
- Their best friends are dating!
- Hand holding
- A steamy hot tub scene!
- Sneaking around
- Steamy, open door
- Lovable characters

Thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for an ARC of this book.

5 STARS 5 STARS 5 STARS 5 STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am the number one member of the Livy Hart fanclub. "Some Kind of Bluderful" is AMAZING! It is BURSTING with smoldering chemistry, DRIPPING with tension, OVERFLOWING with heart, TEEMING with banter, and ABOUNDING with drama, fun, family, and growth. I was absolutely smitten with Alex and Mia. Alex is my new "book boyfriend," as the youths say. When I tell you I have not read chemistry like theirs in a long, long time, I MEAN IT. I was on the edge of my seat so, so many times waiting for them to just KISS! My Fitbit even told me it detected my heart rate as an EXERCISING HEART RATE while reading some scenes! FOR A KISS! WHO AM I?! HOW DARE YOU, LIVY (respectful)?! The slow-burning nature of the story made it THAT much more impactful. The tension is at an 11. And this book is SO funny. And this book is SO sweet. And this book showcases growth and maturity on the part of both of the main characters, as well as several of the secondary ones as well. Livy has created her own little lived-in, fully-fleshed-out world here. The attention to detail? The dogs? The way they keep running into each other? The comedy? The jobs? The friends? The family? The horrible first-date-gone-wrong? THE BABY DEPOT SCENE??? THE PARKING LOT SCENE?!?!? HELLOOOOOO!? Am I yelling at myself as I write this? Yes, yes I am. And all this is before we even put a baby toe into the spice. Dear. Lord. The. SPICE. Goodness gracious, this book delivers. God, I want to read it again. Perfect pacing. Perfect length. Perfect circle-backs. Perfect couple but willing to work on their faults. Perfect dog. Perfect setting. Perfection. No notes. I want to live in this world!

Livy Hart could write a phone book and I would read it. Her books keep getting better and better! I absolutely cannot wait for her next novel. I'll be there on publishing day with bells on to buy her book! Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease read this book! You won't be disappointed!!

Thank you to NetGalley, Entangled Publishing, LLC, Entangled: Embrace, and Livy Hart for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.

Livy Hart threw a surprise romance into our laps, so obviously, I dropped everything to read it! I flew through this STEAMY "In Good Company" meets "The Office" romcom. Livy's voice is just as funny and sharp as ever, and I always love spending time in her world of warm hearted, witty people finding their happy ever afters. Fans of Talk Flirty to Me and Planes, Trains and All the Feels will not be disappointed by Alex and Mia's story.

Well, excuse me while I laugh out loud about how excessively funny & awkward & weird the first date between Mia & Alex was.

When Mia goes on a blind date with Alex, little does she know that he's her dad's boss who might or might not have stolen her dad's promotion from him. And not only that, she also finds out that her Alex's best friends are dating each other.

Phew! What a small world. No, but seriously, the first date was extremely hilarious & awkward that go into records.

Loved the chemistry these two had throughout whether it be as enemies or lovers. I enjoyed how they were mature enough to handle some big situations. Livy's writing just takes you all in & you'll be entertained throughout.

This has all the nostalgia of the early 2000s RomComs! They just don't make movies like that anymore, and I would not be opposed to seeing this in a film adaptation.

It has the classic storyline: Her teenage past made her into who she is, and after healing from a bad relationship... enter THE good-looking, slightly damaged, successful man. She finds herself in a position she doesn't want to be in but definitely needs to be. With the universe always putting them together no matter how much they try to avoid each other, their relationship builds.

It is a sweet novel and has a tiny bit of spice.

"I wish I'd known the very first time I looked at her that it'd become a hard habit to break. Maybe I would've been smart enough not to start."

What a super fun, spicy contemporary romance, with a writing style infused with humor and characters that seem to communicate mostly through banter - except for the vulnerable moments. I loved the evolution of the romance plot in this one, going from an awkward first date where everything screams 'not a match!' to running into each other at events and slowly opening up to each other and finding love. The author's author note really says it all: the romance is very much in the mundane, everyday moments with characters that have a depth to them, making them feel very real and layered.

"I wasn't trying to imply you needed to strip for me."
"I've still got this shirt. Unless you want that too?"

What I marveled at a lot while reading is how masterfully the tension between the main characters was written - both sexual tension and other kinds, like the moments of stillness and gazing into each others eyes, the moments of indecision about what to do next... It was very well written!

"Don't sell yourself short, Mia. Look at you. your bar for men needs to be in fucking space."

I think I might've developed a teeny tiny crush on our dear Alex, our attentive, stargazing gentleman who knows how to compliment a woman. I loved his character, the depth to him. He crushed my heart multiple times with his need to be loved that he was telling himself he could do without.

However... As much as I liked the first 90% of the book, I had a very difficult time with the ending. Here's why:
- Overall, this book is very light thanks to all the banter. The last 5 chapters, though, are basically an angst fest, which I wasn't expecting (kind of?). I knew it was coming, but not like this. And maybe I wasn't in the mood for it to become so intensely heavy all of a sudden.
- Out of character(ish) behavior for both Alex and Richard. <SPOILER>Let me preface this bit with the fact that I'm internally still warring with myself over this, so I'll give both sides of my argument. On the one hand, the "big revelation" was very anticlimactic at first. The way Richard's character is portrayed as possibly throwing a major fit once he would know about the both of them, made me expect him to make a way bigger deal out of the conversation with Alex, so that left me confused. His reaction towards Mia hit hard, but that was more along the lines of what I'd expected. Then I felt utter whiplash at whatever the hell happened that Alex went and almost bought his house and was ready to propose to Mia. Listen, Alex is a very level headed guy, even in previous moments where his own childhood trauma was triggered (like seeing Mia at the picnic surrounded by family like he wished he could've had). So it seemed very irrational and out of character for him to be acting in this way. On the other hand, I understand the explanation that was given about Alex's behavior (that he was trying to prove he could commit and stay in one place), and I can also see that his attachment wound got triggered. But that scene still doesn't sit right by me and basically upended my enjoyment of the book. </SPOILER>
- I was very sad about how the ILY's were exchanged.
- The last few chapters felt very rushed. 5 chapters (including the epilogue) for a big show down, first fight and a big gesture are not enough for me. The anxiety I felt from the fight was not resolved by the cheesiness of the next few chapters. It all felt too easy and quickly wrapped up because we were running out of pages.

Another thing that didn't fit well for me was the age of the main characters. Mia is 24; Alex 26, making this a New Adult book. However, this did not feel like a new adult romance. Both characters are much more mature than their ages, and it really bothered me each time their ages were mentioned, because I kept picturing them as very late twenties (for Mia) to early thirties (Alex).

Overall, though, I really enjoyed reading this book, but the ending has put me back in my slump and has overshadowed my enjoyment of the book. Obviously, that's a me problem.

Would I recommend this book? 100%. The romance is so worth it.

I am also going to need the name of the stargazing app because maybe this stargazer has wanted to learn more about constellations for a while and has been too lazy to do proper research, but that app would solve all her problems. Just maybe... ;)

This book is so fun! I had a freakin’ blast reading this, in one day because I had to let the good times roll. A solid 4.5 for me, so I am rounding up to 5!

Our MMC Alex is down bad from his first POV chapter, even though our FMC Mia tries to hate him so much. So, so good.

Mia is just so fresh: she’s your bestie, your sister, she’s you. That’s what she felt like to me. It was so easy to fall into her POV and cheer her on.

While this is certifiably a cute, extremely fun and VERY HOT RomCom we are given a lot of backbone, especially through the character of Alex. The more we got to know him the more protective of him I felt. It was not saccharine, just an honest portrayal of a guy who works hard after coming up with no family, Mia’s perfect opposite. Mia has ALL the family, even after her horrible breakup. Mia and her family are also recovering from the loss of her mom as teens and that plays a key role in Mia’s motivation to keep her Dad close.

This handled their backstories with care but still felt hopeful. I did feel like I wanted more from Mia’s POV on her break-up and having moved on, plus a bit more closure in regards to her Dad - but overall I just wanted more because I loved it. I could have read 200 more pages of them just flirting! Sadly all good books must come to an end.

Dating your boss? FORGET THAT! How about your DAD’s BOSS?!!

I loooved this book! It was one disaster meeting after another for Mia and Alex. Disasterous dating stories speak to my soul. They met on dating app, and their date was awful. THEN THEY FIND OUT HE’S HER DADS NEW YOUNGER BOSS. Their best friends are also dating each other. Lots of sexual tension, banter and cuteness. Secret forbidden dating ensues. This was so cute and fun with well written sexy times. These two had built up a lot of sexually tension and the scenes didn’t dissapoint.

Also Mia has two sisters and I wish we could have gotten books for them too.

I had an absolute blast reading this book! Livy Hart nailed it with her signature banter and character dynamics. Mia and Alex's first date is hilariously cringe-worthy, but things get even more complicated when Mia realizes he's her dad's new boss. Their chemistry goes from dislike to awareness and ignites into a slow-burning romance. Seriously, the tension in this one will have you on the edge of your seat! This romcom is cozy and light-hearted. Overall, if you're into a forbidden romance, enemies-to-lovers, and slow burns with a dash of humor, you'll love this one!

After reading Planes, Trains and All the Feels, I was super excited to read this new novel by Livy Hart, and it surpassed my expectations! I loved it so much that I finished it and immediately started it again.

Mia and Alex get off on the wrong foot, catch some feelings and have to sneak around because he is her dad's boss. They bring the heat (and I mean 🔥) the entire book.

I really enjoyed how their push/pull felt natural and not drawn out. Their motivations and concerns remained consistent throughout the book which led me to really connect with them. And I especially liked that there were no stupid mistakes that made me scream during the 3rd act snafu. Just two people who navigating a tough dynamic.

I highly recommend this one! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I'll be honest, after the initial meet cute/meet HOT DISASTER, I was thinking, "There's no WAY Livy Hart made Alex the male main character." And when I flipped to the next chapter and saw Alex's name at the top, my heart sank, dread in the pit of my stomach, and I thought, "There's no WAY Alex can redeem himself." Here he was, half an hour late to their first date, then takes a 20 minute business call as soon as they sit down to eat, before proceeding to criticize her job, her hometown, and her favorite food. He has a condescending, matter-of-fact delivery to every word he says. But redeem himself he does. Actually, he probably doesn't redeem himself so much as we learn the reasons why he is the way he is, which is why I'm really glad it was dual-POV. Seeing Alex only through Mia's eyes wouldn't have been enough to convince me they were meant to be together.

As if the odds weren't already stacked against them, Alex is also Mia's dad's new boss, who took the job he believed was rightfully his (but she doesn't know this until they're introduced at her dad's office). She would have put the puzzle pieces together sooner, if she had known Alex's last name was "Conroy," which is how her dad refers to him. They had no plans to see each other again, until they're set up on a blind double date and learn that their best friends are dating. Side note, I LOVED Josie and Ezra (can we PLEASE get a prequel with their story???). After they run into each other again and again, they discover they have sizzling hot chemistry, so they start seeing each other in secret (since her dad would have a heart attack if he found out). They both don't anticipate falling for the other, and Alex is a much more willing participant than Mia. Mia definitely had more to lose (i.e., her relationship with her dad), so she was the resistant one in the relationship from the start.

I liked Mia and Alex's character growth from beginning to end. Alex learns that he doesn't have to be alone, and Mia learns that she can lean on other people, especially Alex (and that she doesn't have to cater to her dad's opinion). I loved the dog adoption scene, how endearing yet clueless Alex is with his unexpected new puppy, Andi (originally Dandelion, which he thinks is a dumb name). This scene brought out his vulnerable side, and there's nothing better than a gruff, grumpy man showing his emotions and vulnerability. It was so sweet how affected he was by Andi crying on the camera he set up to watch her while at work (very Alex of him). The kiss cam scene, the grand gestures, when Alex talks to the little boy in time out? Super cute! This book is classic romantic comedy goodness.

What would have made this a 5 star read? This was a delicious slow burn, but the ending felt abrupt. I would have liked for the conclusion to be more drawn out, but I did enjoy the epilogue. I would have liked to see when Mia's dad finally accepted Alex into the family, because beyond his apology to Mia the next day, there is no resolution to his issues with her relationship. Alex's backstory could have used more developing. The plotline with the cousin almost felt unnecessary since there was no resolution.

I felt like Mia's sisters, Hazel and Lucy, were a bit flat and two-dimensional. Josie was more three-dimensional than they were. It seemed like Mia doesn't see them a lot, even though she flaunts how family-oriented she is. It is a central part of her identity and what separates her from Alex, who has no family. I feel like all small town romances work best as interconnected standalones, so I would have liked to have Mia's sisters' stories, even if they were just prequels. It also would have been nice to see Alex interact, and stumble through his interaction, with her nieces and nephew. And what about her dad's relationship with Mia's ex's parents? The ex's dad came to his birthday, but we don't hear anything about their mending friendship beyond that.

Livy Hart always nails the opposites attract, enemies to lovers romances, so I'd like to see her branch out with the next book. She kind of reminds me of Ali Hazelwood, in that she knows what she's good at so sticks with the same tropes and the same character archetypes (Alex was a lot like Luke from Trains, Planes, and All the Feels). Not that I haven't eaten it up each time, but it would be nice for her to leave her comfort zone and mix things up a bit. But all in all, this book was a hit, and I know I'll be thinking about it for a long time!

Thank you SO much to the publisher for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest, voluntary review!

I’m not sure how it’s possible, but every new Livy Hart story I read I love even more! Her voice is so sharp and clever, her characters so genuine, that you can’t help but fall as deeply in love with them as they fall for each other! Im so excited NetGalley gave me early access to SOME KIND OF BLUNDERFUL in exchange for my honest review!

Mia Madden hasn’t been lucky in love, especially not her latest date. Alex may have been gorgeous, but they seem to disagree on everything except the fact that the date is a certified disaster. She leaves with every intention of wiping Alex—and their mortifying interaction—from her memory.

Except he’s everywhere in her small Georgia town. That corporate jerk boss her dad can’t stop complaining about? Check. The blind double date her best friend set her up on? Hi again. And while they are definitely, absolutely… probably not accidentally dating, Mia finds herself looking forward to the next inevitable run in.

MIA AND ALEX 😍😍 I love them so much! Livy does such an amazing job making their first few interactions genuinely terrible. They’re both so awkward and it really is the WORST first date, but their transition from antagonistic to friendly to romantic is so smooth and natural, in the end you believe wholeheartedly in their love! Their backgrounds and experiences are so different, and I loved watching them challenge each others world views! Like you’d expect from Livy Hart, it’s equal parts beautiful, sexy, and so damn hilarious your sides hurt!

If you haven’t already, make sure you preorder it so it hits your kindle first thing on September 25!!!
