Livy Hart is quickly becoming one of my fave authors! Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC of Some Kind of Blunderful. This story is super cute & shows how overcoming one's past is not easy, but worth it to have the kind of relationship Alex & Mia work towards in this great story. Lots of wonderful side characters as well as fantastically written main characters make this story hard to put down.
I plowed through this story in two days cause it's so good & I look forward to reading more from Livy Hart real soon!
This story is cute, poignant, and hot! I think it's inspired to tell the story in two viewpoints, his and hers. Alex is handsome, very good at his job, but is missing out in his social life. Or lack of. Mia loves her teaching job, has a loving family, but is ducking out of a social life ever since she got dumped right before her wedding. Alex and Mia have a dating app arranged date that is disastrous. But fate keeps putting them together. I loved this story!
I knew from the dedication that I would love this one, as the author dedicated the book to The Office Ladies, and The Office is one of my favorite shows. Like The Office, this is a love story that takes place in a mundane setting, over cute dates and activities that may not scream 'romantic' but are in fact romantic for these characters. The pace was a bit slow for me at times, the story dragged a tiny bit, but overall it was good and swoony. Worth a read!
Thank you @netgalley and @entangled_publishing for a copy of this book in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.
With dazzling characters and a heartwarming plot, Livy Hart has written a true masterclass. With delightful lighthearted humor and smart banter it makes it very clear the main characters have chemistry. The spice is very refreshing in this rom-com and as a whole I absolutely devoured this novel with no regrets.
When Mia finds herself on a date profile for Alex, she decides to go for it disregarding her horrible luck. While mixed signals and miscommunication taint this date, the trouble begins when he sees her at work, fully realizing who she is. Richard’s daughter.
They can’t seem to avoid each other, as if they are drawn to one another. The question is how long can they repress their feelings when they keep running into each other?
This book was so good! Absolutely loved it!
It had everything I want in a book. Romance, hilarious banter, spice, emotions, and dogs! Mia and Alex are perfect for each other. I love the growth that each character goes through, not only with each other but as individuals. I thought it was hilarious how they kept being thrown together unexpectedly and it made the slow burn worth it!
These two are so cute that it hurts! This book is spicy and the spice is fantastic. That hot tub scene...
Not only are the two main characters fantastic, but so are the side characters. Joise and Ezra are also super cute together and I'm glad they were in support of Mia and Alex and helped them realize their feelings.
I loved all of The Office callbacks! The company picnic, basketball, booze cruise....my favorite moments!
I am very grateful to have received an ARC of this book. Everyone needs to read it when it is released on September 25th!
Enemies-to-lovers, lots (and lots) of tension that pays off with plenty of spice, interesting family dynamics, and a FMC/MMC I couldn't help but adore together and apart. Some Kind of Blunderful was a great read, I definitely recommend!
After one disastrous date, Mia thinks she will never see Alex again. These two couldn't be more different, but fate has other plans. Mia learns that not only is Alex her dad's new boss (that his dad doesn't like) and her bestie's new boyfriend's friend (whom they want to set her up with).
Alex knows that it is going to be tricky navigating waters with Mia, but from the first date he knew he was drawn to her. She is exactly what he wanted and their connection is something that doesn't come along everyday.
As they spend more and more time together, the thin line of restraint snaps. Let me tell you, before that point the tension was so thick it could have been cut through with a knife.
Alex and Mia come from such different backgrounds and he has never put roots down anywhere, while she is firmly planted. Alex has never felt at home, never had a family that was worth anything, but with Mia it's different. He wants to prove to her that he is all in, and getting her dad on board will be the hardest part.
I will say it every book (hopefully), Livy's heroes are exactly what I am looking for. They are real and show these girls nothing but love, respect and keep life mostly drama free. Everyone has a past, but it isn't flaunted around and that is exatly what I live for. I have read all of Livy's books now, and I can safely say, she is a favorite.
Thank you to Livy Hart, Entangled and Netgalley for an early copy.
I just... can't even think of words. Heart eyes emoji, sweating emoji, smirky face emoji, etc. I read this in one sitting (I swear I've liked all of Livy's books but they just keep getting better with each one!) and loved the progression from meet disaster after disaster after disaster, to realizing wait maybe this person isn't so bad, to oh crap I am super attracted to this person, to wait maybe I also like this person, and so on. I chose it to be my "last book of the summer" as a palate cleanser after a previous not so great read and it more than lived up to the hype and did its job. As always, laugh out loud moments, excellent banter, and plenty of heated moments.
Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled for the ARC! Pub day is Sept 25/23.
Have you ever seen an author get exponentially better with every book ever. Though you didn’t think it was possible because all of her books are THAT good? Well, that’s Livy Hart to me. This book blew me away. I was expecting a light hearted rom com with some tension, but I never expected to relate so intensely to a FMC. Her struggles with her long term relationship and re-entering the dating scene after? THEEEEE worst. Meddling and overly involved family? Heard that. Family head over heels in love with the first person you seriously date after said long term relationship even though you really REALLY don’t want to? Yeah…. I get it. Mia’s internal monologue will have you dying laughing. And Alex is all of us millennials at the dog adoption event, truly. That’s how I ended up with my dog. Overall, I just think this book hit so different for me because of how much I related to Mia, but it really is her best work yet.
4.5 stars rounded up! If you're looking for a romcom with the perfect balance of sweetness and steam and likable, well-developed characters, (plus an adorable dog!), look no further—Some Kind of Blunderful is the book for you. The story follows Mia and Alex, who meet on a disastrous online date. They both want nothing more than for the night to be over, and to never see each other again. Only their paths keep crossing, since Alex is the accomplished new boss Mia's dad is always complaining about, and even worse, their respective best friends are dating, and want to set them up. Soon, the two realize that the chemistry between them is undeniable—but will their budding romance become a comedy of errors instead?
This was such a cute read! It was my first Livy Hart book, but now I will definitely be on the search for more. Dual POV in romances tends to be hit-or-miss for me, but I thought it was so well done here! Both Mia and Alex are given so much depth and growth, both in terms of their relationship and as individual characters. I loved their chemistry and banter—I can never resist a good enemies-to-lovers romance, and Mia and Alex's journey from dislike at first sight, to merely pretending to get along, to genuinely being in love, was such a blast to read about. I also appreciated how there was no third-act breakup or heavy reliance on the miscommunication trope—the conflict between Mia and Alex feels very real and understandable, and is ultimately handled in a mature way that makes sense for the plot and feels earned. Beyond the romance, I enjoyed how much attention Hart gives to the story's other important relationships, like Mia's relationship with her dad and sisters, and her friendship with Josie. I'd love to read a book about Josie and Ezra, too! Overall, Some Kind of Blunderful was a super enjoyable read, and I can't wait to read some of Livy Hart's other books. Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book, and all opinions are my own.
Some Kind of Blunderful was just such a fun rom com! Mia Madden wants to find the whole package, only online dating has turned out to be a dead end, especially with her cringe-worthy date with Alex Conroy, a handsome, cocky businessman—only, to her surprise, Alex isn’t just a bad date; he’s her dad’s new boss, but as fate throws them together, these two enemies can’t help but fall for each other. Mia and Alex’s first date was beyond cringy, and I loved the immediate impression you get of these two in this he-falls-first enemies to lovers, forbidden romance story. Alex is a gem, I mean really one of my top book boyfriends after this. His heart is so big and his past makes it so he can’t even realize how much love he deserves. He’s so charming and sexy. And I loved the banter and steam of him and Mia, they are just so fun! I loved Mia and Alex’s friends Josie and Ezra; they were adorable and just the friends you want in your corner. This book is funny and sexy and just a great rom com. Livy Hart is officially an auto-buy author for me!
4.5/5 (rounded to 5)
Mia and Alex are so perfectly imperfect, it made me love them even more.
This book is so honest and real and I loved every second of it. I was giggling and gasping from the beginning. I love love, love, the dry humor and could not stop laughing. The subtle TV sitcom references - yes, please.
and OMG who knew a hug could be so freaking STEAMY!!?!?
I love that they had their mishaps and didn't just brush over them and forget about them. These two are couple goals 🙌.
Highly recommend if you are looking for a small town, forbidden, relatable romance!!!
Mia matches with Alex on an online dating site, but their date ends up being one big disconnect. As their paths keep crossing, they discover Alex is Mia’s dad’s new boss and nemesis. When Mia and Alex stop fighting their intense attraction, they must keep their relationship a secret from Mia’s family.
This steamy rom-com made for a super fun read. Alex’s sad backstory nicely informed many of his choices, while Mia’s strong familiar bonds fueled the conflict. Mia and Alex’s besties, Josie and Ezra, and Mia’s sisters were a hoot.
I would have liked to have seen more conflict in the form of Alex’s cousin Derek and Mia’s awful ex-fiancé, as well as a few less pop culture references. I loved the way Alex interacted with Mia’s students and the shelter dogs. The couples various dates and encounters were fun to read, and the epilogue was wonderful. I enjoyed this book so much, I bought Livy Hart’s backlist.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I'm a huge Livy fan and this one was just as good as her other books. It was a little extra cozy and a little less drama but I'm here for it.
Mia is putting herself out there after being left at the alter a year and a half ago. She's supposed to be meeting Alex for their date but he shows up 30 minutes late and overhears Mia telling her best friend how bad Alex's dating profile is. Their awkward and stilted date ensues and they go their separate ways never to see each other again. Or so they think. Alex is Mia's dad's new boss and their best friends are dating making it impossible for them to avoid each other. Maybe they just started off on the wrong foot and this could be something wonderful.
• forbidden romance
• enemies to lovers
• slowburn
• dual pov
Livy always knocks it out of the park with the side characters and family dynamics. Mia is super close with her family and Alex has no family. Alex being at odds with Mia's dad really throws a wrench in their potential relationship, forcing them to sneak around. Mia was such a little ray of sunshine brightening everyone's day, I adored her. Alex is misunderstood and just trying to do his best as the new guy at the office while also trying to keep his feelings for his employees' daughter in check. This book was a delight and I loved it.
If there's one thing I learned about Livy Hart's books is that I cannot read them without a permanent smile on my face. They are funny, steamy, and heartwarming all at once. This one is no different.
So Alex and Mia meet on a dating app. On their first date–that started off on the wrong foot to begin with–he figures out that she is the daughter of the man who wanted his (new) job and therefore hates him.
Mia's best friend decides, then, to set her up with her (new) boyfriend's best friend, who is none other than Alex.
Seems like the universe keeps conspiring to bring these two together. All the forced proximity gives Mia and Alex the chance to slowly get to know each other better. And we all know what happens after 😏
I enjoyed reading this so much. The writing was engaging–I read it in less than 24 hours. I couldn't put it down! I really liked the strong family and found family aspects. The banter, the spice, the chemistry: delicious and fun.
Another stunner by Livy Hart. She has definitely become and auto-read author for me.
Thank you, Entangled Publishing, for the ARC!

Honestly, all you need to know for this review is I stayed up until 3 a.m. reading it. It was super cute, fun, heart-warming, spicy, and made me want to read more by Livy. Mia and Alex meet through a dating app and their date is very much a meh situation. Both think they'll probably never see the other person again... little do they know fate has other plans. Alex happens to work with her dad, and their best friends are dating each other. Though they may think they would never work, they keep crossing each other's paths until they find that they may enjoy the other's company. There's also puppies.
10/10 recommend and expect to not want to put it down.
I had a lot of fun reading this book. It brings the humor and it brings the spice, but there’s also an undercurrent of emotion that keeps the story grounded.
Mia and Alex match on an app, and their first date is a meet-disaster. They’re both shocked a week or so later when they walk into a blind double-date set up their best friends, who are dating each other. Mia and Alex don’t like each other at all, having gotten off on the wrong foot on their first date. But as their paths continue to cross, they realize they actually enjoy each other’s company. There’s one huge problem, though: Alex is Mia’s dad’s new boss. And her dad can’t stand him.
They have to keep their relationship — and their hookups — a secret. Speaking of those hookups, this is Livy’s spiciest book yet. All I’ll say is “hot tub scene” and leave it at that.
When things inevitably blow up in Mia and Alex’s faces, they don’t break up — they just step back to reassess. I’m a fan of third-act breakups, but the lack of one worked for me here. I don’t think it would have felt authentic to the characters and where they were at in their lives to have them break up.
Livy Hart has become an auto-buy author for me. I know that no matter what she writes, I’m in for a good time.
Thank you to Entangled and NetGalley for the ARC!
After the world's worst first date with an online match, Mia really wants to take a break from dating. But her best friend is newly in love and wants Mia to go on a blind date with her boyfriends best friend. Unfortunately for both Mia and Alex, they arrive at the blind date only to realize that they already went on the world's worst first date. And equally as blunderful - he's her dad's new boss. After they keep finding themselves pushed together in situation after situation, they allow their chemistry to take hold despite all the consequences that may come.
This book is definitely Livy's spiciest yet! Though it is a bit of a slow burn to start - once it gets spicy it STAYS SPICY!! There were quite a few scenes that I would say are rare for traditionally published romance, which I always really like to see! I loved Mia and Alex's banter and relationship.
I also loved that there wasn't a dramatic third act breakup! Mia tells Alex she needs a little time to think, which in turn gives him some time to think in how he overreacted to a difficult conversation with her dad. This felt super realistic and came from a place of caring and communication which I truly LOVE to see.
Thank you to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for the eARC - and #joyfulchaosbookclub for arranging the widgets! All thoughts and opinions are my own and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
It's hot, steamy, and funny. What else could you want? In typical Livy Hart fashion, there is a LOT going on - between the Magic School Bus preschool play, her beau and father's bitter work rivalry, and all of the accidental meet cutes, you definitely won't get bored. Mia and Alex are magnetic opposites that can't keep their hands off each other, so long as Alex can get away from work for long enough. As usual, there are SO many subplots going on too! I want to know what happens with Derek and if the remote worker finally picks up Richard's calls. And I'd love to see a prequel about Josie and Ezra too!
Want a romance that punches you in the face on the kiss cam and then steams up the windows after? Here you go.
*Thank you to Entangled and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review*
This is my first Livy Hart book but it will not be my last. This story manages to be both touching and funny while also giving glimpses into grief. The attraction between Alex and Mia is not completely instant but develops quickly into something very intense. The reader can feel the chemistry between them as well as Mia’s anguish about what her father will think of her relationship with Alex. Alex does his best not to pressure Mia and his struggle to adapt to his new desire for permanency is lovely. The secondary characters here are great and the steamy scenes quite sexy.
5 stars. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a complimentary ARC of this book. The opinions herein are my own.
