Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the copy in exchange for a review! Livy Hart is the queen of rom-coms! I loved Planes, Trains, and All the Feels when I read it earlier this year, and I was so excited when I saw that Livy Hart was coming out with another book. I absolutely loved watching Alex and Mia realize that they were the one for each other, and I loved watching their banter with each other. I also loved the family dynamics of Mia's family and how her entire family reacted to her relationship with Alex. Some Kind of Blunderful laugh-out-loud story that you will not want to put down. (Also, Alex adopting a dog was the cutest thing ever!)

This was SO much fun, with tons of banter and such a playful feel. These two instant enemies have some crazy chemistry from the moment they meet, whether they realize it or not. Their feuding was actually foreplay, and I loved that the concept felt so fresh. I've never read a romance with a setup quite like this one. I adored that they slowly, begrudgingly found their way together, The first hookup scene was absolutely phenomenal, with heat dripping from the page. It's sexy and intimate one moment and completely hysterical the next, which made it such an engaging, entertaining read. I loved it!

The story follows Mia and Alex, two people who met on a dating app and had one brief, disastrous date. When Alex discovers that he is Mia's dad's boss, he can't get out of there fast enough - and Mia isn't exactly heartbroken that things didn't work out with the infuriating workaholic. That would've been the end of it if their best friends hadn't started dating and then proceeded to set them up on a blind date. Between hangouts with their friends and work events where they pretend not to know each other, Alex and Mia find themselves spending a lot of time together against their will. As they get to know each other better, the two soon discover that they're more compatible than either realized, but there's absolutely no way that crossing any lines is a good idea. Not only does Mia's dad hate Alex, but she does too... right?

Alex and Mia are electric together, with the kind of banter and chemistry that leaps off the page. I loved how their initial feuding set the tone for the story, and yet it didn't take long for those feelings to morph into something else entirely. Very few books have the kind of palpable chemistry and tension that these characters have in nearly every scene, and the spicy scenes were particularly memorable. Hart does a fantastic job bringing those moments to life. And I also loved the characters themselves; not only did Mia feel one-of-a-kind and was such a firecracker, but I loved Alex more with every page. He reveals a side of himself that was devastatingly addictive, and the book transitions into "he falls first" or at the very least "he pursues relentlessly" vibes. Which I adored, by the way. Honestly, I adored a whole lot about this. It was exceedingly easy to binge and will likely leave me with quite the book hangover, but it was such a playful, sexy, swoony ride

I was hooked from the first sentence. This book was fantastic! The characters are so well written and you feel like you're right in the dating trenches with them. I really appreciate the overall story and slight deviation from the typical rom-com formula. And if you like sexual tension in your love scenes without veering into dom/sub vibes, this is totally for you. I can't wait to see what other works the author publishes.

Thank you to Entangled for this EXCELLENT romance - I received an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion. I feel like I was reading this one for a long time, but I have enjoyed it the whole time! I read the majority of it while I spent last weekend in NYC with my parents. My mom and I both read a ton and share book recommendations, so even though we were seeing Broadway shows and walking all around the city, we definitely had a lot of chill reading time at the hotel. Some of the steamy scenes in this book were a bit awkward to read while hanging out with my parents…
This was my first book by Livy Hart and I will definitely look for more of her books - it had a great premise, and the enemies to lovers was done so well. I also liked that the miscommunication conflict was fully understandable and not formulaic. The female main character is a teacher, which can be hit or miss for me considering it’s what I do, too - but this was a hit! It came out last month, so this book is available now and I definitely recommend it.

I loved Livy's first two books, and this third one is no exception - 10/10, no notes. She has secured a place on my auto-buy list. She has this way of writing amazing sexual tension that pays off fabulously by the end of the book. This book was a joy from the first meet-awkward to the end. If you love enemies to lovers, bad first dates and wonderful relationship development, you definitely need to check out this book.

Livy Hart is one of my fave romance authors and is writing some of the wittiest romances today. Filled with banter, sexual tension, conflict that moves the plot forward, characters to root for, and just all out fun.

(full disclosure: I am friends with the author; we became friends after I read her first two books and fell in love with them and then I decided I needed to know Livy better and she is absolutely amazing.)

Blunderful is no exception to this and I'm so glad that Livy published it! We have a grumpyXsunshine, small-town, kinda enemies to lovers, a puppy (!!!), and so much more.

From the first time Mia and Alex meet, it's blunder after blunder. Alex is late to their date (met online dating) and overhears Mia trash talking him a bit because she's annoyed. They are then pushed together again because their best friends are dating each other. Then Mia learns that Alex is her dad's new boss that she has heard a lot about (and not great things!). The two are constantly forced into each other's lives, forced to get to know each other better which also means a growing attraction between them.

I love how Livy brings Mia and Alex together, building the sexual tension (and then delivering on it!) but also exploring the character growth each goes through. Mia and Alex each have their own frustrations and hangups to work through and eventually come to realize and understand how they can help and support one another through them.

I can't wait for more books from Livy!

Thanks to Livy, Entangled, and NetGalley for an eARC of the book. All thoughts are my own.

I adore Livy Hart y'all. My Fairy Bookmother at Entangled introduced me to this author and I haven't missed a book since.

"Dating feels like a boxing match, and I’m one hit away from tapping out."

Mia and Alex are two opposites colliding in a dating disaster. When their paths keep crossing after an embarrassing date, they can't help but notice they're growing on each other.

Alex comes from a lonely, abusive childhood. He worked hard to get where he is and has kept his heart focused on goals. Mia is an elementary teacher, frugal, bright, bubbly and with a large and loving family. Left by her ex-fiance, she's just looking for one guy that doesn't suck. Two different walks of life coming together in the cutest chemistry bursting relationship.

Hart has a way of making her characters come to life with relatable personas, flaws and situations. I'm not one for adults that let parental figures influence their decisions and typically stop reading most books with this character trope. However,  it's Hart and honestly I shouldn't have been so shocked at how well this played out for our MC, Mia. It fits the narrative well. I also liked that the relationship "break-up to make-up" wasn't ridiculously outlandish. Thats what I love about this author, down to earth novels that have me coming back for more. And lets not forget the schmexy! Hallelujah for the down and dirty folks....

            “Go right ahead and beg.”

If you haven't read a Livy Hart novel and you love a fun romcom, I highly recommend checking out this author! Huge thank you to Entangledpublishing for the opportunity to enjoy an early copy!

This book is a 3.99 star rating. We had a ton of really good stuff but not quite enough to push it into the next level.

What I enjoyed:
I really enjoyed this level of “forbidden romance”. Usually this trope is employed and it’s written really cheesy or it’s in a way that’s been done a million different times. This was actually a fresh take on it, and I enjoyed the it immensely.

The characters were a riot to read about. Their first few interactions were hilarious and realistic enough to believe it could have happen 100%. I absolutely could see people minding their own business and having a similar situation happen to them. It was just over the top enough to incite laughter but not so over the top that it takes you out of the experience of reading.

What I didn’t enjoy:
The ending felt like it was really rushed and everything ending really neatly. I wanted more open dialogue between all the characters as they discussed what the relationship was going to look like between them all instead of slapping a bow on it and calling it a happy ending.

The father. The ending with him so really ambiguous and I wanted to know more about what he’s doing. He was such an integral part of the story that I feel like the author did him a disservice by not giving him the time to decide on his career going forward and whether or not he fully allows Conroy into his life. I wanted more from him in the end.

I could have used a second epilogue from 3 years later when she opens up her own Montessori style school where she gets to keep being a teacher the way she enjoys and he runs the business side of it for her. I really felt that I would added to the story, because they were both headed toward burnout faster than you could say “millennial”.

This is a unique and quirky romance that I found myself enjoying overall. This author has historically been a win for me and I am excited by the prospects of her labor. Definitely a solid choice and someone I will continue to read as more books get published.

I really liked this book! Alex and Mia have pretty much an awful first date. Unfortunately for them, they both have mutual friends, so they end up seeing each other a lot. I like that this was somewhat of an enemies to lovers romance. Both Mia and Alex slowly start to get to know one another, and soon they’re falling for each other. What made this book really interesting is the fact that Alex works with Mia’s dad and Mia‘s dad hates Alex. It’s sort of added this forbidden romance aspect to the book! I loved all the longing glances Alex would give Mia. I also loved how giving he was to her. The things that this man did for her had my heart melting! In one scene, he comes to the school where Mia works and helps paint some scenery for Mia’s school play! Ahhhh so sweet! But speaking of sweet, this book had some amazing spicy moments! I liked reading how Mia tried to resist Alex at first, but of course that doesn’t happen for too long. The characters have to deal with the issue of Mia‘s father, and I really liked how that was written. And of course the ending is perfect!

Disclaimer: I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Publication date: September 25, 2023

This was my second book by Livy Hart and it was just as wonderful as the first one!

Mia Madden has just started getting back into the dating scene. 18 months after her childhood sweetheart heart left her on the day of her wedding.

Alex Conroy is new in town. Hired by a large company to clean it up and bring new life into the business, Alex knows he’s going to have a tough time getting some of the more senior executives on board with his new ideas.

After some miscommunication and almost missing their first blind date, Alex and Mia just don’t seem to click. After calling an early night and expecting never to see each other again they both feel like they dodged a bullet.

After their first date, Mia realized Alex is the new guy at her dads office. Not just the new guy but his boss. This could never work between them but for some reason they keep getting thrown together.

Eventually they stop denying their attraction to each other but it doesn’t solve the issue of Mia’s dad. Trying to keep them apart and trying to manage a new relationship is more than either of them can handle.

Will Mia’s dad forgive her for falling in love with his new boss? Can Mia give up what she thinks is the love of her life to save her dads feelings and their relationship?

This was a really good enemies (a strong word) to lovers story. I really enjoyed Mia and Alex’s story and their relationship was wonderful. There was a bit of spice to add to the story which I loved but the character dynamics were great as well. This is a 4 star read for me!

Some Kind of Blunderful was so cute and adorable. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it from the beginning but both characters grew on me before we even hit the half way mark! The pacing was good and it was just a very sweet story. I can't wait to read more from Livy Hart in the future!

I love Livy Hart. I still love PTAATF the most but honestly this was such a fun, sweet and sexy quick read.

Some Kind of Blunderful" by Livy Hart is a delightful romantic comedy that had me hooked from the very beginning. The story revolves around Mia Madden, who finds herself navigating the treacherous world of online dating, only to end up on a date with Alex Conroy, a man who epitomizes everything she despises about corporate hustle culture. Hart's clever writing immediately draws you into Mia's world of humorous misadventures.

One of the highlights of this book is the witty banter and undeniable chemistry between Mia and Alex. Their interactions, whether it's during corporate volunteer hours at an animal rescue or while attempting to escape an escape room, are filled with humor and tension. Hart masterfully portrays the awkwardness and charm of their burgeoning relationship, making it easy to root for them.

I really enjoyed this book and was glad to see that despite not loving PTAATF this hooked me back into Livy’s writing. I loved Alex and wanted nothing but the best from
him and wanted Richard to understand that he was just looking for acceptance. Also watching these two collide week after week until they combusted was so soft and sweet

After a horrible first date, Alex & Mia decide to never see each other again. Unfortunately for them, the universe has other plans and continuously throws them in each other's paths in unexpected and often hilarious ways.

I absolutely adored Planes, Trains, and All the Feels, but found this one did not captivate my attention in the same way. There were things I enjoyed--Mia's humor and family dynamic, the various awful meet-cutes--however, I think I could have done without the workplace drama that comes from Alex being her father's new, young, hotshot boss. That arc just did not make sense to me seeing as the kid is like 26 years old and is supposedly a business management wunderkind. That being said, I understand it added ~drama~ to the story. Still a fun romcom that I would recommend.

When Mia and Alex first meet, it's for a disastrous first date. Alex is all corporate and serious, whereas Mia is a school teacher who loves arts and crafts. Alex is also the new hotshot boss for Mia's dad who is cleaning house and took the job he wanted. Even worse, Mia and Alex's best friends are dating. Basically the two can't escape each other.

But the more time they end up spending together, from basketball games to company picnics and volunteering, Mia realizes there is a lot more to Alex that she thought. And Alex discovers that maybe there's more to life than climbing the corporate ladder on your own.

This book was so adorable! I loved Mia and Alex so much. Such great opposites, so much chemistry. It was fun and flirty. There was a little bit of forbidden love, some forced proximity, opposites attract. Definitely add this to your TBR!

I loved this! Mia and Alex have a terrible first meeting but keep being thrown together which makes it harder to fight their growing attraction. They had so many swoon worthy slow burn moments. I loved seeing their relationship develop. I loved their banter back and forth. Livy Hart really has a way with words! I can’t wait for more books from her!

Rating: 4.5 stars

This was such a FUN read! I loved Planes, Trains, and All the Feels, so when I saw this one was going to be released, I knew I needed to add it to my TBR. And I'm so glad that I did because this book was so fun. Livy Hart has such an amazing way of writing stories that she makes even sometimes serious topics/situations fun to read about. This book was a bad blind date and then find out it was with your dad's new boss, whom he hates. I loved the dynamic of Alex and Mia. I loved their characters and how they came together and fit into each others lives. I definitely recommend this one, especially if you loved Planes, Trains, and All the Feels!

This was so cute!

Mia and Alex go on a horrific blind date, after matching online. Mia thought she would never cross path's with Alex again, until she realizes that Alex is her dad's young new boss, who stole her dad's promotion. But luck has a way of keeping them in each others paths, when Mia and Alex's best friends start dating and they are forced to run in the same circles. Between accidently falling for one another, they try to keep it a secret, from everyone but especially Mia's dad.

I love accidental forced proximity, and this book kept giving it to me. It was so cute, and I actually GUSHED when Alex wore the football shirt to the dad's birthday. In general, Alex made me gush. The family dynamics were really interesting, and I would 100% read the sisters books, or Josie and Ezra's book. The enemies-to-lovers is not always well done in romance books (I tend to prefer this in fantasy), but it really worked here. The spice was good, the story was sweet and fantastic characters!

Read this if you are into
- Enemies to lovers
- Forced Proximity
- Forbidden Romance
- Great Banter
- Dual POV
