The premise of this novel was both intriguing and promising. Sounded like my kind of book!
I was left wanting in the arena of characterization. There was so much more the author could have done. The characters were not flat, but they needed a bit more air to fully inflate, if that makes any sense.
Perhaps there was more "left on the editing room floor" so to speak, but I felt this novel left a lot of untapped potential on the table.
A good book that could have been so much more, had it only lived up to it's potential.

This book deals with some heavy subjects of abuse, grief, addiction, suicide, and xenophobia. And while it toes the line I didn't feel at any time like I was getting bogged down or overwhelmed by the subject matter.
This story revolves around Oriana, an angel/human hybrid, and Andy, a hunter, who are brought together when Andy's sister Faith tries to help heal Oriana. Andy reluctantly agrees to help since she's the only one that can actually speak that angel's language even though it goes against all the training her father had drilled into her head at an early age. After a truce is made between Oriana and Andy where in two weeks time if she still wants to die, Andy will take Oriana's life.
However the next two weeks finds these very two different women learning more about themselves and one another then they imagined. A misunderstanding separates them and they go on very different paths to defeat their own demons, but are brought together again with a large family that just wants to see them happy.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was a little slow to start up with and the initial power dynamic and agreement between Oriana and Andy had me a little sus, but Rabil does a good job of working things out in a way that didn't feel rushed or like a cop out. I really enjoyed seeing Oriana and Andy grow and overcome their own demons while at the same time learn more about one another and see each other (and their species) in a different light. The moment when Andy takes Oriana out into the truck was the moment I absolutely fell in love with these two and was rooting them on the entire way.
Thank you, NetGalley and Bella Books!
Paranormal sapphic angel/demon romance? Sign me up! This book offers romance, redemption, and fantasy creatures. I am a huge fan of Demon Angel stories, and this was no exception. My favorite part of the story was definitely the romance; the development of healing and love that happened was a perfect balance.
You can never go wrong with a story about love between angels and demons. Rabil does an excellent job of creating full characters in an ever twisting world. Thoroughly enjoyed!

Fallen is a paranormal sapphic romance set in a world filled with angels and demons.
I enjoyed the plot of this novel, I felt that it kept you intrigued. However I wasn't a fan if the writing style, personally it felt like it didn't flow however this didn't impact my enjoyment.
The characters are great, I loved Andy and the journey that she went on through the book. Her relationship with Oriana was very well written and made me want to read more about them.
I would definitely read more from this author in the future.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bella Books for providing me with this arc
Fallen by Alyssa Rabil is a novel that left me with mixed feelings.
The premise of this narrative is good. I’ve come to really like paranormal stories with Sapphic romance mixed in. I also like reading about characters that in some way are damaged, but find their way to healing and/or redemption, especially with the help of another in the tale. Fallen addresses both of those really well. I pretty much fell for the main characters, Oriana the half human, half angel, and Andy Black the trapper. Some of the secondary folks needed more work on their characters. They seemed a bit one dimensional.
The book needed to give the reader more backstory than was mentioned. I got a bit confused with the angels and demons in the story and how they were able to exist in our world. This might have been explained with more history.
The romance between Andy and Oriana is sweet, though I would have loved to see a bit further into their future. The novel has a bit of an open ending which does give the author the chance for future books with these characters in this world. I would be happy to read more of Andy and Oriana’s story if another one is written.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and Bella Books for an honest review.
Fallen by Alyssa Rabi was an interesting and and enjoyable story.
This was a very engaging read. The author had me engaged from the start to the end.
I was captivated by Rabi’s writing style and ability to create an interesting and unique world.
Andy and Oriana were very well written and their story really hooked m and kept me glued to the pages.
The writer has the ability to describe the story in such a way I can picture it as I get swept along.
A fun paranormal fiction that is a well-written, remarkable adventure.
A great read about demons, angels, with humans. It was a lot of fun.

Fantastic paranormal fiction about angels, demons, and humans that hunt those that are considered evil. There’s always more behind than what meets the eye as our two MCs find out, realizing they are not enemies after all. I would have love some more back history and information on the world building, but this novel was entertaining nonetheless.
Good book read it over a few days it's one of those where I want more of this book to know if they work together kind of thing
Wow, there’s a lot of story in such a short book! This book started with its foot on the gas and didn’t slowdown. Parts of it reminded me of the tv show Supernatural, but Fallen is very much its own story.
I really enjoyed the main characters and how their individual personalities were two parts of a bigger whole. Ana and Andy both had emotional and physical wounds that needed to heal. They cautiously started on that healing throughout the book and grew greatly as people by the end of the book.
The only thing I didn’t particularly like was some of the human side characters felt two dimensional to me. I would’ve liked to know a bit more of their backstories. They weren’t the point of the book, however.
I’m not sure if/what the author plans to do with the story in future, but it would make one heck of a series!
This book was just “ok” for me. The story had a lot of potential but I was left feeling like “that’s it?” when it ended. It does have a cute romantic storyline with some good character progression and the story was complete. I just wish a bit more happened as there wasn’t much action.
Thank you NetGalley and Alyssa Raybil for the ARC.
