The Kindness Booth is a sweet and simple storybook about finding a creative way to foster joy during a gloomy day. The adorable illustrations were delightful and the positive moral/message was uplifting.

This was a great read aloud option for story time and it sparked lots of discussion about the acts of kindness we can all do for one another!

Perfect for children aged 3-8.

Thank you Netgalley and Capstone for the e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

A beautifully illustrated story about the power of kindness and community. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the illustrations and the story which follows a Mya, her brother Oliver and her friend Addie as they open a kindness booth in their community. The examples of acts of kindness that they perform can be done by kids so it's realistic, with plenty of representation of minorities and those with mobility issues.

I received an electronic ARC from Capstone through the SLJ Day of Dialogue.
Mya was feeling blah as the day was gloomy. Her grandfather challenged her to think about how to make the day better. Together with her brother and friend, they create a Kindness Booth to help others. Readers see all the ways they support friends and neighbors. When the rain starts, they discover others want to be kind to them too. Lovely illustrations capture the events and characters to support the story. Don't miss the informative text included at the end.
Families can read this together and talk about creating their own Kindness Booths. Teachers and librarians can also adapt this for classes and schools.

A charming book about a little group of friends hoping to brighten everyone's day by opening a "Kindness Booth."
Murray creates the story to show that a caring heart can brighten up a gloomy day. In addition,  the illustrator's ,  Ms. Boatta, presentation of her artwork, uplifts the story with a touch of delight and charm.
A wonderful story that teaches readers to find ways to show kindness.
The book also includes tips on how to show kindness and a few questions to ask ourselves about the topic.

What a way to show children how to be kind. Two friends and a younger brother make a booth that helps neighbors ask them for help. This would be a great read, a loud classroom book, or one to have in an at home library.

What an adorable story for our little ones to enjoy. I love the message of this story and was happy to share it with my little ones. After waking up to a day that seemed so gloomy Mya decides she will find a way to make the day better for everyone. So Mya opens a Kindness Booth where her and her friends can share kindness in their apartments. Even when rain threatens to stop their sharing they work together and they find a way to share. I love how many different ways the book shows us to share kindness. The books also gave suggestions in the back to help further the story into our lives by giving ideas of ways to be kind and questions to get kids talking about kindness. You will love the colorful and full of life illustrations that complete this heartwarming story. We received it as an ARC but will be adding it to our home collection. I highly recommend this book for families of little ones and to use in Early Childhood and elementary classrooms. It has so much potential for exploring kindness in our communities and get children thinking.

What a beautiful story of friendship and community supporting one another!

I am always on a hunt for literature that welcomes conversations around love, kindness and what it means to support someone!

The main character Mya feels sad on a gloomy, rainy day and her Grandfather asks her how they could make the day “brighter”. They can’t stop the weather but they decide to build a kindness both! Kindness can come in many forms and the children decide to support their community members around the neighborhood.

When the rain threatens to shut down the kindness booth, the community does something that surprises Mya and her support crew!

This would be an excellent read in the classroom and a fantastic writing prompt!

This is an adorable book about the power of kindness in a community. It’s a great way to show little kids how to be kind to others and why it is so important. At the end of the book is a list of ways to be kind and questions to ask to get kids thinking about how they too can be kind to neighbors, friends and family. Great resource for preschoolers who are learning to express their feelings.

The Kindness Booth is a great story about the power of acts of kindness. I loved how the story focused on the acts of kindness and the way the kids were able to brighten other people's days. It showed how helping people can be emotionally rewarding, which I liked. I also loved how it was the kids who needed help in the end. It was very poetic, and a great lesson about the power of kindness. Boatta's illustrations were vibrant additions to the story, contrasting the gloomy sky with the bright scenes of kind acts.

Overall, a great read for anyone looking for a picture book about the power of kindness!
