This was the perfect book for our rainy homeschooling story time today! My two youngest kids have had a tough time with being kind to one another lately, so a story in kindness was just what we needed-and the fact that it began to rain in the story just as it began to storm here, was just a nice little added touch. This story is about a little girl named Mya, who starts a kindness booth to make a gloomy day a bit brighter. The pictures are beautiful and my kids-especially my daughter (4 years old) loved them! She keeps telling me that she wants to "be kind like Mya!" This will be a story that we revisit often in our home!
I loved this children's book, which is about a girl called Mya, who tries to make a gloomy day brighter by setting up a kindness booth, in order to help others. Along with her brother and friend, she helps a lot of her neighbours with different duties, and she practices a lot of kindness. Unfortunately, it starts raining. Will she have to close the kindness booth, or will someone be able to help keep it up and running?
This is a really gorgeously illustrated book, with easy to read text, which all children will love. I especially liked the illustrations and the areas at the end of the book which showed ways we can be kind to others. Highly recommended!
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.
Mya and her friends figure out a way to brighten their own gloomy day by brightening the day for their friends and neighbors. They decided that they could create their own joy by stepping in and helping their friends with whatever they needed. This is a sweet little book FULL of gorgeous full color illustrations and a beautiful life lesson. Tremendous thanks to NetGalley and Laura K Murray for a digital advanced readers copy of The Kindness Booth in exchange for an honest review. I can’t wait to purchase this book and read it to my sweet little Grandmuffin.
What a delightful little book! I absolutely loved it!
A gloomy day turns into a great one with kindness. A perfect book for a library story time. It teaches kids about what kindness can do to make everyone’s day brighter.
The writing and the illustrations are lovely. Perfect for the age group!
I found the story cute and heart-warming because it tells us a story of how kindness can brightens one's day.
I think the illustrations are like creme de la creme, on top of having simple yet easy to understand storyline. Would be a good reading material for younger childrens.
This story follows Mya, Adie and Oliver who wish to brighten the gloomy weather by providing free kindness service and look, they got a lot of cutomers!
However as business going well, an obstacle came to drag them down, what's should they do? What gonna happen next? You need to read it yourself ♥️
WOW this was soooo cute! I involved my 4 year old while reading this and he loved it so much. we had a great discussion on what it meant to be kind and how we can spread kindness to people everywhere. This will be a book we can reflect on and I can use to remind him how to be kind. VERY CUTE! 5 stars!
This was lovely! Read it with my little one. The beautiful cover caught our eye as did the illustrations inside. We also enjoyed 5e story, a great message encouraging kindness with actionable steps and prompts to discuss ways we can be kind.
"Kindness spread." These two straightforward phrases can be used to teach anyone- including our children- that what we give, we receive back. When we are helpful to others, whether it be by a small gesture like washing their dog or helping them clean, we can brighten their gloomy day a little. What a wonderful way to educate our children that being kind is free, using a beautifully designed book to grab their interest.
Plus points for the questions at the end of the book that will inspire your kids to think about how acts of kindness affect others.
Is there a better way to enhance a gloomy day than offering kindness to those around you? This book is full of wonderful illustrations and a great lesson on the impact acts of kindness can have on those around you. This book is great for teaching children the joy and happiness that comes with being kind.
Thank you to Capstone Editions and to NetGalley for an ARC of this book.
This was a sweet little book about kindness for others. It was a cute little book.
I received an advanced copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
It's a gloomy day for Mya, a young kid who wants to do something productive on this gray day. When her grandpa asks how she can make the day brighter, she sets into motion a whirlwind kind of day filled with kindness for those around her. With the help of her brother and friend Addie, all three begin to help the local neighbors with small acts of kindness. Mya is a creative kid, and I liked how she turned a blustery day into something magical. From washing a dog to helping with a headlight, reading about these three makes my dull day into something fun. With creative designs of all the different characters, this picture book can brighten anyone's day.
This is an amazing book! It is a great book to read on the first few weeks of class as an introduction to treat your friends in the classroom. I loved the addition in the back of ideas as ways to be kind. It was a great conversation starter to ask the kiddos ways THEY can be nice in our classroom! The illustration was beautiful! All the kiddos loved!
This is a quick read with gorgeous illustrations. It has a wonderful message of kindness. There are questions at the end to get your kids thinking about how kindness affects others. Five and eight year old approved!
I want to start off by saying how amazing the illustrations of this book are. I love this book's colors and whimsical nature, and they are sure to capture any reader's attention. The story of this book follows Mya as she wants to create a bright day for her neighborhood even though the sun is out. So after gathering two friends, Mya and her friends open a kindness booth where they help their neighbors with various tasks like bathing a dog and finishing an art project.
This book encourages kindness, for even though it will feel good in the moment, it can also come back to you positively when the neighborhood comes back to the kindness booth to shield the three friends from the rain.
With reflection activities in the back accompanying this story, this would be a great book to add to any child's library to encourage acts of kindness no matter how big or small.
What a sweet lesson for kids. Teaching them the importance of being kind to one another & how one nice thing can spread to others.
When you are kind, it spreads. On a rainy day three friends show love and kindness to others in their neighborhood. When the rain returns, the neighbors show love and kindness in return. A lovingly illustrated book that teaches kindness if free and given back in return.
