This was definitely a suspenseful enough read for me. The author did a good job creating a pretty good sense of weariness on multiple levels against multiple characters so I didn't really know who I could trust. The most obvious person or the person I felt like the suspect was being set up to be, was not the person it ended up being. At one point, I did guess the suspect, but the author kept me unsure of multiple other characters that I never stuck to that guess. A relatively unique story-line that I had not heard yet, so that was refreshing. I'd say 3.5 stars! It was good but won't stick with me as being unforgettable.

Many thanks to netgalley and the publishers for an early advanced copy!

Meghan Michaels is trying to find balance between being a single mom to a teenage daughter and working as a full time nurse. While on duty at the hospital one day, a patient named Caitlin arrives in a coma with a traumatic brain injury, having jumped from a bridge and plunging over twenty feet to the train tracks below.

But when a witness comes forward with shocking details about the fall, it calls everything they know into question. Was Caitlin pushed and if so, by whom and why?

Honestly can’t remember the last time I read a thriller in less than 24 hours and this was 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 wellllll done!

A few things I loved -
👏🏼 TWISTS!!! I am telling you that I audibly gasped at the end of part 1 and other times too
👏🏼 I physically could not put this book down, I’m talking reading in less than 24 hours, reading every spare moment I had, annnnd the chapters aren’t exactly short but didn’t bother me one single bit.
👏🏼 the suspense was next level
👏🏼 there are many different side plots throughout and I actually LOVED how they come together in a way you don’t see coming (have I mentioned the TWISTS!!!!)

This one came out April 2nd so snag it now! Promise you won’t regret it.

Mary Kubica is an auto read author for me. This book instills that preference for me. Her ability to gradually build suspense into her plot while pushing great character development makes this thriller unputdownable. It’ll have the hair standing on the back of your neck. I found myself thinking about the characters even when I wasn’t reading.

My only issues with the story is although she did a good job of weaving the two story lines together at the climax, one story line wrap up seems to be neglected a bit and had me wondering what happened to the MC’s relationship with them. Not a deal breaker by any means. Move this one to the top of your TBR. Already can’t wait for her next!

I really enjoyed the weaving of medical elements into this thriller, which is something that I don't always see but if I do it isn't always done well. The multiple story lines and mysteries that were concurrently happening definitely kept me intrigued and I loved the few twists that Kubica threw in there at the end. I have now read a handful of Kubica's books and each have kept me interested and hooked until the end, happy to say that She's Not Sorry definitely continued the trend. Looking forward to discussing this one with my bookclub!

Thank you to Netgalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for my review copy! Definitely went to pick up a hardcover to have on my shelves after finishing.

Meghan Michaels is a full time ICU nurse with a sixteen year old daughter. Recently divorced, Meghan is trying to juggle everything. When Caitlin is brought into the ICU with a traumatic brain injury after jumping off a bridge, Meghan becomes her primary caregiver. It’s later discovered that perhaps she didn’t jump after all, she might have been pushed. Meghan starts her own investigation hoping for answers. That’s not the only thing on Meghan’s plate … when she runs into an old classmate at a divorce support group, she’s immediately sucked into the drama as she’s sure Natalie is in an abusive relationship. Natalie gives Meghan a run for her money and leaves Meghan fearing for Natalie’s life. Several woman have also been attacked in the vicinity of the hospital. Women that have been stalked, leaving Meghan fearful for both her daughter and herself, but are they in even more danger than they even imagined? The twists are quite good in this one and will have you on the edge of your seat as you hurtle through the pages to find out the final outcome! Thank you to Harlequin and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

This one was twisty! It had me guessing right until the end. It was fun reading from the POV of two characters in two different timelines. But, I didn’t love the characters and had a hard time getting through some of the chapters having to do with gaslighting and arguing due to a messy divorce. Not something I really enjoy reading.

Overall, it was a book that hooked me and kept me reading until the last page.

Thanks to NetGalley for the early reviewer copy.

The amount of times I audibly {gasped} at this book….my husband kept asking me what was wrong! There were a few different story lines / mysteries / villains and they each had me guessing. A real page turner for me! Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I have her other books mainly because it felt extremely slow to me. It was a slow burn thriller until about 70% in and I’m not used to that when it comes to this author. Normally her books grip me from the very beginning with plenty of great twists throughout. I will say the slow burn did help set the tone for the book and kept me engaged throughout the entire story. The unlikable characters kept me intrigued as I always love unlikeable characters but other than that I wasn’t a huge fan of this one. It won’t keep me from reading her future works I just hope they’re more fast paced than this one.

This was so good! I enjoy a good thrilled, and as a nurse, the medical twist made this one even better!

My only prickly spot - someone would notice if she poked a patient three times with an insulin pen!

Other than that, I couldn't put this one down and was excited to see how it was going to come together!

I have not read a book that has given me such sudden literary whiplash in a long time! Just when I was settling in to the mystery, I had to think back and question everything I'd just read. I highly recommend starting this novel knowing very little of the plot. Classic Kubica!

I loved this book so much! I haven’t read a good thriller in a while and this one blew me away. This was my first book by Mary Kubica also and I am obsessed now. This book is told from Meghan’s POV as a ICU nurse. Everything about this book was great. I am usually not a fan of a thriller with too many side problems and twists but Mary executed them so beautifully and with such seamlessness. I was sooo surprised by all the twist (except one that was pretty obvious). Probably my favorite thriller this year.

This was such a twisty mystery! I am still trying to wrap my mind around all of it. I really love how she plotted it, and some of the twists really surprised me. I do wish that I knew more about the ending! It was super good, but left a little too open-ended, and the ending felt a bit rushed. I would have loved some more details and more of the mystery fleshed out.

Another fast-paced nail-biter from Kubica. Chicago ICU nurse Meghan Michaels is trying to find her footing as a single mom of a teen after her recent divorce when a new patient arrives in her unit and upends her world, despite being in a coma. Going back and forth in time, with twists I didn't see coming and a relatable yet unreliable narrator, I loved the complex yet easy to follow narrative and the characters being allowed to be morally grey. Maybe dark grey. Read this if you don't need your fiction tied up in a neat bow but still want something compulsively readable.

Mary Kubica’s books are always very thrilling and deeply character-driven, and She’s Not Sorry is no exception. When a critically injured patient is brought into the ICU where nurse Meghan works to support herself and her teenage daughter after a divorce, it's apparent that something really bad happened and she is overly concerned about the young woman… but why? Is it because there’s a series of assaults on women happening throughout the city? Or because of an incident that happened with her daughter, which is the opening scene of the book? How do all these things tie together? As the book jumps in time, chapter by chapter, all the connections slowly start to draw together until the big reveal in the middle of the book. Then it becomes a heartpounding race to the conclusion, where it all comes together.

I received Shes Not Sorry as an ARC book about 8-10 days before release date and I devoured it.
OMG! Sitting on the edge of my seat with heart racing, stomach in knots and asking “whhhhhatttt? Everything I love about thriller books and M. Kubica checked off all the boxes in her latest novel.
This is three plot storyline being told in one read. It kept my full attention trying to figure out how they will tie in together.
Caitlin is brought into the hospital and is in critical condition after a suicide attempt or is it attempted homicide? Hmmmm
Meghan is an experienced ICU nurse with her own family issues. She is recently divorced and sharing custody of her 16 year old daughter, Sienna. Meghan finds herself bonding with Caitlin’s family because there’s a common thread of suicide in her life too. Hmmmm
Lastly, there is a mad man on the loose that is hurting women. The incidences are taking place to close to home for Meghan’s comfort zone.
I gave this a four star rating because I have few questions with the time line. It was not adding up and moved a little slow. Maybe I was overthinking…
Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the ARC read in exchange for my review.

I was very pleasantly surprised at how much I loved this book. It was my first Mary Kubica book and I loved it. There were twists and turns I didn't see coming and even the ones I did, I was happy with the way things turned out.

I've seen a lot of rave reviews posted for this one so it's possible this was just a case of not for me. It sucked me in at the beginning and the premise was good. Meghan Michaels is an ICU nurse and one day a young female patient arrives who allegedly jumped from a bridge. Then a witness comes forward and calls everything into question and Meghan starts doing some investigating. I wish the focus had stayed there but instead there's a whole different side plot and a lot of Meghan walking around Chicago. I did feel like the characters were well developed, I just felt like there was too much going on with the plot. But again, I've seen a lot of people loving this one so I recommend trying it yourself.
