Mary Kubica is a star! I loved this book! This was a wonderful, thrilling read. Very quick paced and utterly surprising how everything fit together. The conclusion of this book gave me the chills. If you like Lucy Foley, you will love this book.

I received an ARC…A disappointment from the author. The solo character perspective was bland and unlikeable. So many issues with the storylines.

I knew this wasn’t my first Mary Kubica book, but I didn’t remember the other books that I had read. After checking my Goodreads log, it appears that I read two of the author’s books, giving both a two-star rating.

Unfortunately, She’s Not Sorry is another two-star book. There is so much that is going on in the book it’s hard to keep all the crises straight. At about the halfway point, things do come together a bit. But then the book goes off the rails again with the most outlandish ending. As a matter a fact, the whole book is based on a unrealistic premise. I can’t go into it without spoilers, but let’s just say that the main character needs a really good pair of glasses.

WOW THIS WAS PHENOMENAL! I cannot stop thinking about this one. Kubica has such a way of making you think one thing and then throwing a total curveball. The addictive writing and twists had my jaw on the floor at the end.

Mary Kubica is the Master of Surprises! Meghan is a divorced, mother of one teenage girl, and an ICU nurse. She is currently taking care of a comatose patient who may or may not have tried to commit suicide when she jumped or fell off of a bridge. Meghan becomes a little too close and involved with the patient’s family. She is also very worried about a possible serial killer who has been attacking women in the city. There’s also, Nat, an old friend from school who appears at the divorce support group Meghan attends, who may or may not be physically abused by her husband. Once again Meghan becomes a little too attached to the situation. When her own teenage daughter becomes a target Meghan must look at those new and old relationships in order to save her. Shocking surprises ensue! A must read for all Mary Kubica fans!

This book follows Meghan, a somewhat recently divorced mom who is an ICU nurse. It starts off kind of slow as it builds the many different storylines. It is well written and keeps your interest until it starts throwing twists that keep you on the edge of your seat.

Or, at least, that’s what it’s supposed to do. I don’t know how she did it, but I had figured out the *who* part of the book right off the bat. However, the author kept me wondering why, or how, and had me questioning who the hell Meghan could trust.

It had almost too many different parts of the story, but it was those different parts that kept me hooked to try and figure out how it all tied in together. I will say, the ending felt rushed and was slightly disappointing because I feel like I just needed… more. It felt like there were so many different parts and plot twists or additions that there were some loose ends hanging. However, overall, I really enjoyed this one. If you like suspense/thriller/mysteries, this is a good one to pick up next!

Thanks to NetGalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing, and Mary Kubica for an advance copy of this book. This review is my honest opinion.

BOOK REVIEW🏥🩺💊🤯🫨🚕🚔🚊🌃

She’s Not Sorry - @marykubica
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I flew through this one on my kindle in just about 2 days! I see a lot of people calling it a slow burn, but honestly the pace was pretty fast for me from the very start, and definitely kept my interest even in the beginning, before all the “excitement”. (Trust me, I have read some very agonizing SLOW burns, and this was nowhere near that😅)
🩺This book had so many great elements/tropes mixed into it: Psychological, domestic, unreliable narrator (one of my favorite tropes😍), multi-layered plots— but I think what I enjoyed most were the relatable aspects of it. Sure, there were a lot of far-fetched things going on, which is common in most thrillers— but it also had several real-life “this could happen to me” situations, and I loved how relatable Meghan was as a main character. Sometimes I was annoyed with her decisions.. ok maybe even saying out loud “WTF are you doing?!” 🙄🤣.. but other times I really felt for her & connected with her, especially as a woman and a mother. And I feel like that’s what makes a perfect main character. You’re not going to love them the whole time. You might even hate them at certain points. But it just made her that much more “human”.
💜Overall this was extremely enjoyable. Probably one of the best thrillers I’ve read this year. There were multiple plots going on, which would make you think it’d be hard to keep track of everything, but I was never confused or put off by it. And, the plot twists…. OMG.. they were dropping like 💣. One right after the other. I did predict *one* of them, but with that being said, it did not make it any less enjoyable. AND, as soon as I figured it out— there were plenty more twists to come.

🏥This was an edge-of-your-seat ride from start to finish! Fast-paced, creepy, “look over your shoulder, who to trust, who’s lying, not everything is as it seems”. All the ingredients of books that I love to read🫶🏼
Well done, @marykubica! I can absolutely see why this one is getting so much praise!

This is the second book that I have read by Mary Kubica. It was such a great read! This book had plenty of twists and turns, and will keep you guessing until the end. I love a good thriller, and this was definitely a good one! I would highly reccomend this book to others. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book. I will absolutely be reading more by this author.

It's been a few years since I've read a Mary Kubica book, and I'd forgotten how much I enjoy her writing! This was such a page turner, especially the closer I got to the end! There were a few different things happening, and I was curious to see if and how everything connected. I was able to guess two of the twists, although one of them still took me by surprise because I had started thinking I was wrong. There were some really tense moments, suspicious characters, and twists in this one, and I really enjoyed it!

Thank you, @netgalley and @htpbooks, for the #gifted e-arc of this book!

This book caused me so much anxiety but in a good way if that's possible.

Between Meghan's recent divorce, high stress job of being an ICU nurse, taking care of a young suicide patient that survives a jump from a bridge, becoming a bit to close to her patient's parents who seem a bit off, reconnecting with an old high school friend in the middle of a divorce that is clearly making excuses to hide awful bruises on her face, to being constantly aware that there is a man lurking in the shadows preying on single young woman at night. SHEESH it's a lot to take in.

This was one I couldn't put down after I started & I finished it in a little over 24 hours.

Let's just say Mary Kubica did not let me down. I'm still going over the details of this book in my head.

If I could give one critique, it felt like the end came a bit too quickly. Everything started to piece together & I feel like I still had some questions. That's my reason for 4.5 star rounded up instead of a full 5. I wanted a little bit more.

I know when I want to read a good mystery thriller I can usually depend on Mary Kubica to come through on all fronts. She did that and more for me in She’s Not Sorry, Mary Kubica’s latest suspense thriller. She’s Not Sorry started off a little slow but the slow pace was soon quickly replaced with an edge of your seat, page turning frenzy as the plot thickened. There were several twists and turns that toally surprised me and those that were so cleverly executed that a proper guess was not possible. I enjoyed the characters in She’s Not Sorry but found it hard to distinguish between the ones that were actually trustworthy and the ones that had to be avoided at all counts. In my opinion, She’s Not Sorry was one of the better books that Mary Kubica has written in a while.

Meghan Michael’s was living in Chicago with her teenage daughter in a third floor walk up apartment that was very close to the L train. The neighborhood wasn’t the safest but it also wasn’t the most dangerous either. Meghan and her daughter’s father had recently gotten divorced and Meghan was still getting used to her new life as a single mom with a demanding career as an ICU nurse.

One night, on her way home from a long and taxing day at the hospital, Meghan made her way into a church for a meeting with her divorce support group. To Meghan’s surprise, a woman approached her and told her that she was Natalie, a girl she knew from high school. Natalie appeared skittish and afraid. Was Natalie also divorced or going through a divorce? Was Natalie there for the support group’s meeting? What a coincidence to meet up with Natalie after all these years and here of all places! Meghan tried to encourage Natalie to join the group. As time went on, Meghan felt compelled to help Natalie. It was pretty obvious that Natalie was in an abusive relationship since there were plenty of bruises on her body to testify to that. Meghan decided that she would offer Natalie a safe place to stay until she was able to leave her husband and find a place of her own. Was inviting Natalie into her home that she shared with her teenage daughter a good idea, though?

Shortly before going to the meeting of her divorce support group, a comatose female patient named Caitlin Beckett had been admitted to the ICU. Caitlin Beckett had been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury. Supposedly, Caitlin had tried to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge that was met with train tracks below. Meghan’s coworker was assigned to Caitlin’s care but when the coworker was off the next day, Meghan was assigned to her care. This case dredged up old memories of Meghan’s own Sister’s suicide all those years ago. Usually Meghan had no difficulty remaining neutral and not becoming emotionally involved in her cases. There was something about Caitlin’s parents that made it hard for Meghan to stay detached. They seemed so distraught and over the next several days they shared their fears with Meghan and disclosed secrets to her. Then everything changed when a witness materialized and claimed that Caitlin had been pushed off the bridge. Who could have committed such a heinous crime? What would the police uncover in their investigation?

During this time, women all over Chicago were afraid for their lives. There was a serial killer that was targeting women who were walking home alone. The killer followed the women home and brutally murdered them before the victim had a chance to enter her home. Some of the women were raped as well. Meghan was in constant fear for both herself and her teenage daughter. When would the police catch this killer that was terrifying all the women in Chicago?

She’s Not Sorry by Mary Kubica was absolutely riveting and had me guessing for a good part of the book. The conclusion left me hanging but in a way that I didn’t mind. This was truly a well executed mystery thriller. Some focus was placed on the act of deception, rape, abusive behavior, suicide, divorce, parenting and scams. Once the plot thickened, I couldn’t turn the pages quickly enough to find out what was going to happen. I highly recommend She’s Not Sorry by Mary Kubica.

This book was okay but not one of my top
Thriller reads as it didn’t grab me in the way I like a book to. I’ve read several books by Kubica and this one was an average for me.

Thanks to NetGalley and Park Row for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Wow. The storyline is convoluted. It was believable until it wasn't. I love the first 3/4 of the novel, but the conclusion was too over the top for me.

3.5 ⭐️

Megan is a recently divorced single mom who works as an ICU nurse in Chicago. We meet her right after she’s assigned to care for a young woman who seemingly attempted suicide and an old high school friend who’s in trouble returns to her life.

I had mixed feelings about this one. It almost felt like two separate stories that eventually did come together, but I wasn’t very compelled to find out how. There were a lot of random things that made sense later, but in the moment were just confusing.

The twists at the end were shocking and I didn’t see them coming, so definite points for that. The storytelling was unique and the timeline wasn’t what I expected, but that turned out to annoy me more than intrigue me. Because of the way it was told, it didn’t even feel like a thriller until the last couple of chapters.

The book was fine, but it didn’t grab me in the way that many thrillers do. I’ve read several books by Mary Kubica, but this was probably my least favorite so far.

Thanks to NetGalley and Park Row for an early copy, which was free in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Netgalley and HarperCollins for an eARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

I personally think the best part of this book was the middle. There was a lot of action happening, an awesome plot twist, etc. The beginning was a little slow, and there were slow moments throughout the book as well which is standard for this author. There was a lot of repetition that could've been cut out. In terms of the ending, the main villain was very predictable and seemed to downplay and take attention away from something you think would be a major plot point in the book, but ends up getting no resolution. There's characters introduced that just don't come back. In general, there's just too much going on with multiple plots, and none of the characters are really likeable. Like I said, the one thing that made me like this was the plot twist in the middle. It's not Kubica's worst, but also not the best.

Mary Kubica never disappoints! I have read all her books and they have all been amazing and intriguing thrillers. Kubicas newest thriller She's Not Sorry was no different and an easy 5 star read. I was hooked from the first chapter and could not stop reading until I had figured out the plot. The twists were jaw dropping and unpredictable, the setting was dark and errie! 100% recommend

Mary Kubica is one of my favorite authors whom I have not had the chance to meet, but every time she releases a book, I need it right away. This is why She's Not Sorry came out on April 2nd and I listened to it on April 9 😁 This was a very twisty tale that kept surprising me even though I knew something was up the entire time. I may have had my suspicions, but a few things shocked me completely, and I loved the quick pacing and slow unraveling of secrets and lies. Meghan was not a particularly likable character for me, and honestly, I didn't really care what happened to her. I am not saying this because it made me not like the book, not at all and it isn't a negative, but it definitely made me feel this recklessness that fueled my desire to find out what would happen next.

The audiobook is narrated by one of my favorites, and I loved Andi Arndt as our MC Meghan. Her narration as a whole was flawless and she's got one of those voices that I could listen to 24/7 and never get tired of it. She brought the emotion in the book alive, and I could feel it in her words. I loved how the title of She's Not Sorry played into the overall theme of the story, and while there was no big ah-ha moment for me, I got it completely. The ending itself is a bit open-ended which I thought fit perfectly for the storyline, and I will be over here hoping certain things... IYKYK. I will admit it got off to a slow start, but I thought the majority was excellently paced and it kept me curious in a way only Kubica's writing can do.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of "She's Not Sorry" by Mary Kubica.

"She's Not Sorry" by Mary Kubica is a total nail-biter! It's a psychological thriller that grabs you from the get-go and doesn't let up until the very end. The story kicks off with Mia Dennett disappearing after a night out with a guy she met at a bar. But as the investigation unfolds, you realize there's way more to the story than meets the eye.

What makes this book so addictive is how Kubica crafts these characters who are just dripping with secrets. You're constantly trying to figure out who's telling the truth and who's hiding something. And with each chapter ending in a jaw-dropping twist, you can't help but keep reading.

But beyond the suspense, Kubica dives deep into themes like identity and the consequences of our choices. It's like a rollercoaster ride through the dark corners of the human mind.

Bottom line? "She's Not Sorry" is a wild ride that'll have you guessing until the very end. Kubica knows how to keep you hooked, and this book is proof of that.

Mary Kubica never lets me down! This one gave me whiplash! The twists just kept coming! Now, it did start off a little slow, but once it picks up........ sit down and hold on! Meghan is an ICU nurse and single Mom. An attempted suicide patient is brought in, and the trouble begins. Now one does need to pay attention as there to be several different plotlines going on but stay with it! It's best to go into this one blind so I'm just going this leave it at this. I highly recommend this book and all of her others.
