If you are looking for something to binge, obsess over or keep you in one spot for a few hours-look no further. Its no shocker I am a HUGE Kubica fan. She’s the QUEEN of thrillers in my opinion. Every single one of her books takes me by surprise and I love the unique differences.
This one was executed so well that I was shocked by the end! The twists kept coming, the major one completely caught me off guard. I do not want to say much about it and will remain vague on purpose for those who have not read it. Just know, once you start you won’t stop. This is probably my favorite of her books to date!

Thank you @netgalley for my advance copy!

Thanks so much to @htp_hive & @htpbooks for sending me an ARC of this beaut! What a twisty, clever thriller! This is my fourth book from Mary Kubica, I have also read The Good Girl, Pretty Baby and The Other Mrs. Her books never miss & never fail to keep me up at night both turning pages and scared of every little sound 😱😱

She’s Not Sorry begins with our protagonist, an ER Nurse named Meghan who arrives to work to one day to a woman in a coma. It looks like she has jumped from a pedestrian bridge to take her own life. In the coming weeks, as Meghan is caring for the patient, she speaks with her parents & becomes emotionally invested in Caitlin’s story. Dark things come to light and a witness who saw someone on the bridge with Caitlin that day…was she pushed?

I can’t go into more detail without spoilers but so much happens, you guys! It’s a wild ride full of terror! Kubica keeps you on the edge of your seat with Meghan constantly walking to and from the hospital in the dark. Is she being followed? I have to admit I thought I had this one all figured out and then Mary with her plot twists!

Go read this one immediately 😱🤯

She’s Not Sorry is my first Mary Kubica book and I have mixed feelings about it. The Prologue sucked me in right away but then the pace slowed way down. I kept reading because I was curious and the twist was an unexpected surprise. This book reminded me a lot of another big thriller that recently came out and I kept feeling like I’d already read this book before. She’s Not Sorry is a solid thriller and fans of Kubica will enjoy it.

“Being alone and lonely was better than feeling neglected and ignored.”

4.5 stars rounded up! Well Mary Kubica, that’s one way to draw the reader into the story in the first few pages. Holy hell!

I very much enjoyed this story, which I think you should go into as blind as you can to get the full effect. I will say I worked in a Neuro/Surgical ICU and this book is spot on. Spot. On. Especially for what happens in an intensive care unit when there is a patient with any type of crazy story. And also, as a Respiratory Therapist, THANK YOU for the accurate shout out. We appreciate it! But I digress..

The twists have twists in this one and I was sucked right in! And the end?! THAT is what I am looking for in a mystery. Yep. Nicely done.

PSA: “A code blue is not a gentle process. CPR is violent. It’s an assault. Bad things happen to patients in an often vain attempt to save lives. Of the people who go into cardiac arrest in the hospital, most don’t live and of those who do, many have a permanent neurologic disability and few live meaningful.” Accurate. 👏🏻🙌🏻👏🏻🙌🏻

Thank you to Netgalley, @htpbooks, and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. I will be cross posting to Instagram, Amazon, Goodreads, and Barnes & Noble

Haunting.

In 2022, I started reading Mary Kubica's works. I should've known that she'd become one of my favorite thriller authors. I had read two of her books before starting this one. I didn't think the twists in her books could get any more unexpected, but she astonished me again. I was excited to see that she was releasing a new book and requested it as soon as I saw it on NetGalley. I didn’t have time to read it right away, but once I did, I couldn’t get enough of the story, and the characters. There’s much more to say about the story, but I don’t want to give too much away.

The title:She’s Not Sorry makes you curious, even if you never read the book by the author; there is the mystery behind the title. Even though I adored Local Woman Missing, & Just the Nicest Couple , this was my favorite one. I initially found the story to be slow-moving at the beginning, but it quickly became fascinating and difficult to put down. Just when I believed I had figured out what happened and who was behind it, another twist made me reconsider everything. I’ve never read a book with so many surprising turns.

I liked Meghan, despite some of her decisions that I didn’t agree with. I loved the lengths that she would go, to protect her daughter. However, I wonder what Sienna would think of her mother if she knew the truth about what she had done. Caitlin, I liked her at first and wondered what made her jump. The feeling lasted until I discovered what Caitlin was truly like. I had so many questions about what happened. She’s Not Sorry is a book you won’t forget.

This story hasn’t left my mind. I would strongly recommend this book to any thriller fans. Be prepared for a exhilarating ride.

She did not disappoint! I devoured this in one day! With so many moving parts, it is hard to sum this novel up. Meghan is working as a full time nurse as well as supporting her teenage daughter and figuring out life after divorce. New to Meghan's nurse duties is Caitlin, a young woman who jumped from a bridge and is now in critical condition in the ICU. Meghan has a history with suicide, and tries to avoid attending to the woman, but gets assigned and starts to build relationships with her family. Then the investigation leads detectives to think that maybe this was not a suicide attempt. The more time Meghan spends tending to the woman and her family, the more she gets sucked into the dangers that may end up linking them together.

This was such a fast paced thriller! I was not able to predict what was going to happen or how the various storylines would come together in the end. I think this one makes its way to the top of my list of reads so far this year!

Meghan is recently divorced from her husband Ben and is raising their daughter Sienna in a tiny apartment in an area where a man is going around attacking women. Meghan is a nurse that works late and constantly worrying about her daughter being home alone after school. Meghan stops after work to attend a divorce support group where she runs into an old friend from high school. But is this the person she remembers? She opens her heart and home to her but something feels off.

The twist in the book had my jaw drop! I absolutely loved this book. Thank you NetGalley, the publisher and the author for my arc!

A huge thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing, HTP Hive, and Park Row Books for the ARC of She's Not Sorry by Mary Kubica. You have to love a book that leaves you wondering what will happen next until the very last page -- that is precisely what happens here! This is a binge-able book that will leave you wanting more again and again. There were several a-ha moments where everything came together, some twists that I called and others that I was floored by. This is a twisty, on-the-edge-of-your-seat thriller and one that I definitely recommend! I loved the ARC so much that I ordered my own physical copy to add to my library; this is one I will reread (and lend to friends/make others read)!

A suspense filled novel that got me out of my mystery/thriller slump!!
I had no idea that there were going to be so many twists. I really thought I knew where it was going to go and as soon as I was sure, there was a twist to throw me off course.

This is a really fun, exciting thriller! The author does a great job of keeping the pace moving and there are twists and turns throughout that really keep the reader engaged. There are quite a few storylines going at once and some were more interesting to me than others. That did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the book but it was something I was aware of while reading. I was racing to finish the story and I was surprised although not totally excited by the ending. I think I'm in the minority with that though! I do recommend this book and I am excited to read more by Mary Kubica in the future. Thank you to Mark Kubica, Harlequin Trade Publishing | Park Row, and NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I am a fan of Mary Kubica because she seems to nail the plot twists every time and She's Not Sorry is no exception. I flew through this book, barely putting it down. There were some things that I suspected, but the twist definitely took me a little off guard because of the way things were written, I didn't even put it together. However, after that reveal, the ending fell a little flat for me. Really enjoyed it regardless and will be recommending!

I received this ebook from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion and review. The twists in this book were top notch, like we even get a huge twist like halfway through and you really don’t see it coming. It’s such a layered story, one that I so enjoyed reading!

It’s been a minute since I’ve read a Mary Kubica novel, but I’ve been a longtime fan of the way she’s able to craft the perfect twist. And she 100% manages to keep her streak of jaw-dropping twists with her latest, She’s Not Sorry.

She’s Not Sorry follows Meghan, an ICU nurse caring for a patient, Caitlin, who is in a coma. Meghan is drawn closer to her Caitlin when a witness comes forward with shocking information about Caitlin’s fall from a bridge and from there things get wild.

It’s hard to talk about why I enjoyed this book without giving anything away (and seriously, this is a book you don’t want spoiled) but I will say that Kubica nails the pacing and plotting of the story. She drops little bombshells leading up the major “WHAT?!” moment and I had a hard time putting down the book because of this.

But, there were a couple of things that bumped this down to a 3-star read. First, there are a few different plot lines focused on Meghan’s work and family, and I tended to find the family storyline kind of boring and it felt like filler for a portion of the novel. I also wasn’t impressed with the ending, as I felt like it was a bit of let down after such a strong start.

Regardless, this is a great choice for anyone looking to get caught up in a thriller that is captivating, but not at all scary or gruesome. It’s a great book to discuss, and if you’ve read it, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

She’s Not Sorry is out now. Thanks to Park Row and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!

2.5 stars ⭐️

I hate to say it, but this one underwhelmed me. I think I might be in the minority here, but She’s Not Sorry did not thrill me. 😅

The premise sounded SO intriguing, but the story was way too much “telling” and not enough “showing” for my liking. It dragged; the narrator repeated herself constantly, and there was an abundance of descriptions of the setting and not a lot of action to fill the pages. At the same time, it felt like there were four or five different plot lines going on, and I wish she would’ve just focused on one.

No one in this book felt trustworthy - and not in the suspenseful way, but in the uneasy anxious way.

OMG! I loved this book!! It started weird for me and took me a little time to get into the story. I was wondering why there were so many story lines and was hoping they would all tie in together. They absolutely did! At one point I was completely speechless, jaw hanging open, thinking, did I just read that right? SO GOOD! I love a twist that I didn’t see coming. When I say Meghan the main character has a lot going on in her life, I mean A LOT, but it all comes together in a great story. Meghan is an ICU nurse caring for a patient (and her family) who apparently jumped from a bridge. She’s a divorced mom dealing with a teenage daughter and an ex husband. She has friends with their own problems that she is trying to help, an old high school friend who is trying to escape an abusive husband and a co-worker who has a bedridden pregnant wife. Oh and did I mention there is someone attacking girls around the city? In the end, everything is wrapped up in an exciting, can’t put this book down type thriller!! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this arc! GO READ THIS BOOK!!

Super bingeable with a good twist- not a complete surprise but I don’t need that- though others do. It didn’t blow my mind but it was entertaining and had me hooked. And man. So many of the men were just icky.

I always love a thriller, even more so when it is by Mary Kubica. This one did the job & kept me guessing the entire time. With twists and turns at every corner & feeling like you couldn’t put it down - I would love to see this made into a movie. I thoroughly expect this to be one of my favorite thrillers of the year. Very unique plot/storyline & I loved the characters! Thank you NetGalley & Harlequin Trade publishing for the ARC copy of this book.

This one kept me one the edge of my seat the whole time! There was so many twists and turns, every time I thought I knew what was going to happen there was another twist. The characters were so well developed and believable it made this story even more interesting and constantly second guessing what was to come. The author really does take you on quite the ride! This was the first I read by her and it won’t be my last! This is sure to be a big hit! Highly recommend!
