Do yourself a favor and read this book! This book was a wild ride, and kept me guessing the entire time. The prologue immediately drew me into the story. Part I is somewhat of a slower burn, as the story builds and you get introduced to the characters, but it still kept me interested the entire time. I thought the medical details and aspect of the story was really well done. I love medical thrillers, especially when they are executed well. The author also did a great job at making you suspicious of everyone. There were so many times that I thought to myself- I do not trust this person!

Once you get to part II, the story really picks up and doesn’t let up the entire time. Besides an absolutely jaw-dropping twist, there are so many twists and turns that it will make your head spin. I had to ignore all of my life responsibilities so I could keep reading to see how it would all end. I highly recommend this one- you will not be sorry.

Read if you enjoy:
✔️Medical thrillers
✔️Jaw dropping twists
✔️Single POV
✔️Page turner

Meghan is doing ok at this single working mom thing. She enjoys her job as a nurse and adores her daughter Sienna. When a patient arrives after an attempted suicide and ends up in her care in a coma, Meghan becomes invested in what happened to her. There is question that she could have been pushed off the bridge, not jumped, but by who?

Whew! This book was a doozy! There was so much happening and I was actually pretty proud of myself that I figured out some of the twists along the way. That didn’t take anything away from the book though, because the twists were aplenty! This book was fast paced and kept me on your toes! This was the excellent work I have come to expect from Kubica, and it didn’t disappoint!

Well… that was CRAZY!

The prologue hooked me instantly.

Then, the book becomes almost mundane. Not in a bad way at all. It just sets the scene. It’s like it’s about nothing, but also about so much, all at once. It’s just ordinary life playing out, but with hints at terror, sadness, grief, parenting, etc. Just normal day-to-day stuff in the life of a newly-divorced parent and nurse living in Chicago.

But then… BOOM!

Everything that seemed ordinary becomes EXTRAORDINARY! My goodness!

Like… how in the world did Kubica lure me into a false sense of security and then completely blow me away by making me realize that EVERYTHING I thought was true was not at all?!?

Geesh.

When I say I want a book to completely confuse and mess me up psychologically, this is exactly what I want.

More of this, please!!!

She’s one of my favorites for a reason. This may just be my new favorite of hers. 😳

An incredible thriller that is unlike anything I've read before.

I am a big fan of Mary Kubica's work and was so excited to receive this ARC. She's Not Sorry follows an ICU nurse, Megan who is currently caring for a patient who just barely survives a fall, or is it suicide? from a bridge.

Kubica created a few different plot lines, and carefully planted clues that you can't help but want to binge read this one and find out how everything is connected. As an avid thriller reader, it takes a lot to shock me but I was shocked in this one!

A bingeable, unputdownable, carefully constructed thriller that may give you whiplash. You need this one!

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read and review this one!

Meghan
The gripping prologue is a mother’s worst nightmare. Someone has her 16 year old daughter, Sienna.

Part 1 is really character driven with getting to know Meghan. I guess I’m more of a plot driven person because this was so slow moving for me. If you’d like to know her route to and from work day in and day out, how awful her ex husband is, what it’s like being an ICU nurse and listen to her try to help someone she hasn’t seen in over 20 years then maybe you’ll like this one more than me.

Part 2 starts off with a nice big whammy that I didn't see coming, so whoop for that. I was like finally this is going to get good after over 60% of nonsense, big negative. And then I started thinking about the timeline and either I'm confused because it was so repetitive and drawn out, or it didn't flow well at all. I'm not flipping the pages back to find out.

Overall, I was not thrilled to say the least and I'm not sorry about it. I don’t think I’ve been more let down by such a promising prologue ever. It took ages and ages and ages to get to that point and then it was super lame. There was too much going on. The identity of the rapist was not a surprise at all. On a positive note I'm much more familiar with Chicago now since the streets were named over and over and over again.
Be sure to read other reviews since I seem to have read a different book then most everyone else.

“I have nothing to lose,”the man says. “You’re the only one with something to lose, Ms. Michaels. Now you need to shut up and listen to me because I don’t care one way or the other if your daughter lives or dies. What happens to her is entirely up to you.”

Meghan Michaels is an ICU nurse who is assigned a patient, a young woman who tried to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge.. Meghan feels a connection to her and gets drawn into learning more about her life and connecting to her family. She notices a suspicious man always nearby her patient's room and starts to believe that her patient was pushed. This is a complicated plot with lots of moving parts and characters.

Overall I did enjoy it. It was a 3.5 star read. Thank you Harlequin Trade Publishing for giving me an advanced review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. (

This book was a highly anticipated read for me since 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 was my favorite thriller back in 2021. I remember loving it so much and took my breath away. So I was really excited to be picking up another book by her. Thank you Harlequin Trade Publishing for my gifted copy!

Megan is an ICU nurse and is caring for a mysterious patient Caitlin who is in a coma. She had jumped off the bridge but didnt appear so when evidence suggests she might have been pushed. Megan becomes too close to the case that seems to be putting her and her daughter in danger.

𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5. Here’s another thriller coming in strong with an epilogue that captivated me from the very first page. Soon as I read it, I was hooked. The author sets the tone perfectly as you get to know the main character and her mysterious background. There’s just something about her writing that makes my skin crawl with how she sets the creepy atmosphere. I truly didn’t know where this story was heading throughout the first part. There were alot of misdirections that kept me on my toes, but one thing’s for sure, i was so intrigued by the mystery that i couldnt turn the pages fast enough. When the twist was revealed, i audibly gasped! And as it went on, it was a heart pounding race to the end. I thought that there might be loose ends left unresolved, but it was. Don’t sleep on this one. Mary Kubica has definitely outdone herself on this dark and twisty read that left me on the edge of my seat!

I was on edge the entire time I read this one!! Mary Kubica's Last woman missing was my favorite thriller the year it came out and I'm pretty positive this is going to be another really hard one to top!! Twists galore, a ICU nurse with a dark secret and nothing left to lose, people you can't trust one after another, several red herrings, domestic abuse, infidelity, a con artist and a serial killer/rapist on the loose made this one unputdownable read set in the chilly Chicago winter. HIGHLY recommended if you want a book that will leave you guessing right to the end!! Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!!

This book took me a while to get into, it was really slow to start off with. While there were some things I enjoyed about this book, overall there was just too much going on. Plots and plots and subplots. Mysterious characters that are introduced kind of randomly and then we just never hear about them again? This one had potential but in the end it was just messy.

Mary Kubica is an author I can count on for a great suspense thriller, so I was more than happy to be able to grab a copy of [book:She's Not Sorry|140111148]. The book exceeded my expectations.

Description:
An ICU nurse accidentally uncovers a patient’s frightening past in this chilling thriller.

Meghan Michaels is trying to find balance between being a single mom to a teenage daughter and working as a full time nurse. While on duty at the hospital one day, a patient named Caitlin arrives in a coma with a traumatic brain injury, having jumped from a bridge and plunging over twenty feet to the train tracks below.

But when a witness comes forward with shocking details about the fall, it calls everything they know into question. Was Caitlin pushed and if so, by whom and why?

Meghan has always tried to stay emotionally detached from her patients, but this time, she mistakenly lets herself get too close until she’s deeply entangled in Caitlin’s and her family’s lives. Only when it’s too late, does she realize that she and her daughter could be the next victims.

My Thoughts:
This book is so twisty it left me reeling. So many surprise turns. I could not put the book down. It did start out a little slow but it built to a crescendo. Talk about characters that make bad choices, the ones in this book have some real problems. Well plotted and well written Mary Kubica! I highly recommend to anyone who likes a good thriller.

Thanks to Harlequin Trade Publishing through Netgalley for an advance copy. Expected publication on April 2, 2024.

She's Not Sorry had a slow start, but definitely picked up by the end. Added to my list of Kubica favs for sure. A lot of twists I did not see coming, so I felt it was a perfectly executed thriller!

Another twisty ride from a favourite author. This is a slow burn where we learn bit by bit how the characters are connected (or not), with an ending that will leave you feeling vindication for our protagonist.

I’m not sorry for reading this great book.

This was the perfect book for spring break. I could not put it down. I was a bundle of nerves waiting on the other shoe to drop. I didn’t know who to trust and I did not see the twist coming. I’m still kinda wondering how the ex husband didn’t see the news about his girlfriend falling off a bridge. Also felt the note writing from the daughter was bizarre. Having 3 teens, that just doesn’t sound like something they would do. Just my little nuggets.
I loved the book and enjoyed getting swept up in the drama. I will definitely be picking up more of her novels.
Thanks so much for the advanced copy!

I love this author. I just wasn't completely feeling this book. It starts out slow and then it gets twisty. I just wasn't in the right mindset for it.

I usually enjoy Kubica's books very much, but this one just aggravated me. I believe it was the main character because I had trouble feeling sympathy for her.
Megan Michaels is a lot. She is a critical care nurse who is recently divorced. She gets way too close to one of patients, a woman named Caitlin Beckett, who supposedly jumped from the train bridge. But did she jump or was she pushed? I thought the "villain" in this story was a bit too predictable but I will admit I didn't see the twist coming. So there is that. Solid 3.5 but I'm probably in the minority. It was, of course, well-written and the story flowed easily. I just wasn't into it.

Get ready for an adrenaline-fueled ride with Mary Kubica's latest page-turner, SHE'S NOT SORRY! After the mixed reception of her previous work, Kubica returns with a gripping tale that will keep you hooked from start to finish. Meet Meghan, a 40-year-old ICU nurse whose life becomes intertwined with that of her patient, Caitlin, who lies comatose after a harrowing fall. Unable to distance herself emotionally, Meghan finds herself drawn deeper into Caitlin's world, all while navigating her own challenges of divorce and single parenthood.

SHE'S NOT SORRY is a rollercoaster of suspense, with twists and turns that will leave you breathless. While some may label it a slow burn, I found it to be a relentless psychological thriller that never lets up on the tension. From the moment the police become involved in Caitlin's case, Meghan's existence is consumed by the mystery, leading to a riveting climax that will leave you reeling.

Without giving anything away, let me just say that the ending is as satisfying as it is unexpected. Mary Kubica once again proves her mastery of the genre, delivering a gripping narrative that will leave readers hungry for more. Brace yourself for a wild ride—SHE'S NOT SORRY is not to be missed!

Meghan is an ICU nurse and can't help finding herself wrapped up in the life of a new patient - a woman who jumped from a bridge and survived. But soon, the police are involved - did the patient jump or was she pushed? And why is Meghan allowing herself to become so involved with this patient?

I haven't read a book by Mary Kubica in quite some time, but this one pulled me in quickly and kept me turning the pages. I will say I was surprised by one of the twists, though I guessed another early on. I didn't always agree with Meghan's choices (there was a lot of "girl, WHAT are you DOING") but I definitely couldn't put this one down.

She’s Not Sorry by Mary Kubica is another suspenseful thriller by this extremely talented author. This is a slow burn but when it picks up, holy moly it picks up! This is an intense story that has multiple deep and very dark stories mixed together for one very well written book. You will be on a very wild ride with many twist and turns that will have your jaw dropping to the floor many times. Ms. Kubica’s plots are well thought and will not disappoint. There are a few triggers written into this one but they are well written and thought out well. The characters are so good and well developed. This author is a must read for me and she left me speechless! I highly recommend this one, it will not disappoint!!

3.5 stars.

This was the third (I believe) book I've read by Kubica and it was my favorite. That being said, I have mixed feelings about it. For starters, I had some trouble getting into the book. I would say it started off as more of a slow burn mystery. The book focuses on a single mother/ICU nurse who is caring for an unidentified female patient who is comatose after falling off of a bridge. Questions begin to arise about this patient, such as Who is she? and Did she jump, or was she pushed, off the bridge? A second layer of the story is that there is also a serial rapist on the loose in Chicago, where the novel is set.

I felt that these two story lines were too convoluted and unbelievable. It would have made more sense if the book focused on just one of them. Also, I predicted early on who the rapist would be. The pace definitely picked up during the second half of the book, so that was a bonus, but then the ending felt rushed.

Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing, NetGalley, and the author for an advanced copy of this book to review.
