This book is a mess. It reads like starting a maze at the end and working your way backwards to finish but not in a cool way, like Memento. I'm sure the "twist" is meant to be shocking but instead feels discombobulating, as it throws the entire book and timeline into question. The chapters to me felt like they were written out of order, so some reveals felt unearned. Not a book I'd recommend. Also the Kindle formatting is a mess. Hopefully that will be cleaned up before final publishing.

This was a wild ride and one that I'm truly sad is over. I devoured this book!!!! the creepy hospital setting was one I could visualize perfectly it was done so well. If you are looking for an outstanding thriller this is one book to pick up. You have no idea who to trust throughout the entire book and that just made it so much better. Right when you would think you had it figured out, boom another turn and change in mindset. Thank you NetGalley for this amazing ARC.

Can you really keep a secret or does someone else always know it too?
A divorced woman, an abused woman, and a woman in a coma.
Which one of those three will be the one saying that she’s not sorry?
We meet Meghan, a nurse in the ICU and divorced, Nat who is abused and who meets Morgan at a divorce support group, and we meet Caitlin, who was pushed off of a bridge and is now in a coma.
We get very detailed information about each character, but nothing that makes a connection to the three characters and nothing that is earth shattering about the storyline until fifty percent into the book.
But, once the fifty percent mark hits, the tension is heightened and you will be biting your nails.
Who could be behind all of the things happening, and how did Meghan get herself in the middle of it all?
Another good, but slow burn by Mary Kubica with an oh my goodness, unbelievable surprise. 4/5
Thank you to the publisher for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Meghan Michaels is a nurse in the ICU in Chicago. She's just been assigned a woman who jumped off a pedestrian bridge in an attempt to end her life. Doing everything she can for her patient, Meghan gives her the best quality of care she can provide while also doing everything she can for her grieving parents. But the longer she cares for her, the more she learns of her disturbing past. Why does she have such a strained relationship with her parents? Why was she on the run? And who is that mysterious man she saw in her patient's room?
I'm a big fan of Mary Kubica, but honestly this wasn't her best. There were so many different storylines in this book it felt like I was reading three different thrillers at times, and while that's not always a bad thing, they came together in such random ways that it wasn't a believeable plot. There were so many holes in the plot at the end that I was left with more questions than satisfaction. I'm still a fan of Kubica, but not of this book.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of this book.

Meghan is an ICU nurse and one day she is faced with patient that she felt she had to know more about. Meghan digs deep into Caitlin's story and becomes very attached to this patient. So goes so far that she put her and her daughter's life at risk.

I could not get into this one. I normally love Mary Kubica but this one felt very rushed and in a different, amateur voice than seemed unlike Kubica.

Wonderful read! Mary Kubica books have always been great for me, I'm so happy I got to read this one early. It was quite suspenseful, twists and turns you wont see coming. I suspected 1 thing to happen, and it did. But SEVERAL other things also happened back to back that I didn't expect. I love how Mary Kubica always keeps you on your toes while you're reading! A fantastic "who done it" that'll keep you on the edge of your seat!
I received this ARC from NetGalley & Harlequin Trade Publishing to readeview. All of the statements above are my true opinions after fully reading this book.

My first read from Kubica was a mystery at every turn. I felt as though the first 47% of the book was a lot of filler. I had no idea what the plot of the book was until halfway through. When the book picked up I truly did enjoy it and was at the edge of my seat the entire time. When the initial twist came, I appreciated how the timeline intersected and was not at all expecting all that had ensued. I will say the last twist seemed quite rushed and not developed enough throughout the entirety of the book. I also would have loved to see the storyline of Caitlin’s family developed a bit more.
Overall, I rate this book 3.5 stars (rounded up to 4) because it had everything I wanted from a mystery and it was genuinely filled with suspense. Thank you NetGalley for this ARC!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Do you need a page turner from the start? You won’t want to put this book down as this book draws you in and won’t let go until the end!
Meghan is a divorced single mother working as an ICU nurse. Her work and personal life are equally demanding, especially raising a teenager. She also has to worry about the rise in crime close to her neighborhood and her high-school friend going through a domestic violence situation. Can she juggle it all and stay safe?
Meghan is assigned to Caitlin, a patient who jumped off a bridge over a railroad track, where she is now fighting for her life. This hits close to home as Meghan’s sister died of suicide by jumping from a bridge. There is a man that visits Caitlin. When confronted, he quickly leaves. Caitlin’s father shares information and a voice mail he receives right before her suicide attempt. Is it what it seems? Was she pushed? Who is the man who visited Caitlin? Is he connected to her accident? Are people who they seem to be?
I loved the plot and the unassuming characters that have secrets! The unexpected twists and turns will keep you guessing until the end. Just when you think you have figured it out, something else is revealed. I didn’t see the end coming! A perfect book to take on vacation where you can read for hours. Be sure to add this to your TBR list!
Thanks to Harlequin Trade Publishing (Park Row), I was provided an ARC of She’s Not Sorry by Mary Kubica via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. #Netgalley #ShesNotSorry

Great, twisty plot with turns you dont see coming! Highly recommended! Characters are interesting and intriguing.

Meghan Michaels is a nurse, recently divorced, and trying to raise a teenage daughter. To say she is stretched thin is an understatement. From the opening line to the last sentence this book is a thrill ride with twists and turns you do not see coming. The only reason this is not a solid 5 stars is there are some answered questions that I would have loved see play out. The story could be left as a stand alone, but I would love to see more about Meghan and her life in Chicago, hopefully her story will continue.

Wow! Really engaging and different book. I read the whole thing in two sittings. Twisty and dark with complex characters. Start this book early so you can read it in one sitting and not stay up all night! Skip if you don't like some descriptions of medical procedures/hospital setting.

Probably the most exciting and thrilling book I have read this year. I stayed up way too late to finish the book. The twists were very clever and shocking I never saw them coming. There were also secrets, secrets that could change the lives of more than one character.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This review has been posted on my Goodreads account.
Did I just binged this book in less than 24 hours? Yes, yes I did. When I say I’m in the mood for thriller this is what I mean. A binge worthy ride.

A woman in a coma with a traumatic brain injury due to her fall from a bridge. Was it suicide? Did someone push her? Meghan is also still dealing with the aftermath of her divorce and while attending a support group, she runs into Natalie, a woman that she went to high school with over 20 years ago. Natalie appears to be in abusive relationship with her husband, and even though she won't open up, Meghan wants to help her any way she can….She has a lot to juggle right now but her main focus is her daughter and figuring out what happen to her patient.

My Thoughts-
Okay soooooo my jaw was on the floor. I devoured this one. This book was truly a ride. Like I kept thinking to myself, “oh this is how the story is going to turn out” and I was wrong every single time. What I loved most about this book was the way the author successful weaves together multiple dark storylines. Kept me guessing until the very end. This is a slow burn book but once everything starting unfolding , I kept getting whiplash…like waaaait let me catch up and breathe for a second. *chef kiss*There is one twist halfway through that had me questioning what I had just read. I had to go back and read the paragraph for a second time just to absorb the shock. feel like this one of those thrillers you have to pay attention to every detail because it was mentioned for a reason.
This is my first book by Mary Kubica and I’m excited to check out her other work. I recommend this book to all Thriller/Mystery lovers. She’s not sorry will be available to read on 4/2/2024 add this book to your TBR.

“It’s all anyone is talking about, the woman who dropped over twenty feet from a bridge and just nominally survived.”
Here are reasons to read the Thriller book:
A Nurse - Meghan is a nurse working in a hospital when a patient comes in
A Jumper - Caitlin has jumped from a bridge and they are not sure if she will survive
A Stalker - Additionally there have been some reports of a stalker that is attacking women as well. How is it all connected?
I was originally drawn to this book because of the purple cover and who wrote it. But I have to say that this book is very slow to get going. The first ⅔ is really all about Meghan caring for Caitlin as well as connecting with an old high school friend. But then a major twist happens in the last third of the book and everything gets turned on it’s head. This is where it gets very intense and crazy. I think I would have rated it higher if the pacing was more consistent. However, I would say, this book really took me by surprise for a thriller.

Cue Taylor swift’s “you’re not sorry” which was stuck in my head the whole time while reading this. My first by this author and I was pleasantly surprised! Didn’t see the twist coming and I’m excited to read more by her.

I just finished up this ARC for @marykubica upcoming release, She's Not Sorry - and I absolutely loved this. This story gripped me from the first page. This is definitely more of a slow burn but in my opinion, worth it. The pacing of this book allowed for Mary to slowly bring you into what was going on with each character.
This book follows Meghan, an ICU nurse, divorced, and navigating raising a teenage daughter. One day a patient comes in to the ICU, in a coma, after jumping off of a bridge. Meghan tries to keep her distance but she finds herself sucked into this patient, her family, and what really happened at the bridge. But with that comes danger, not only for her but for her daughter.
This book was truly a ride. It was everything I look for in a thriller, with so many different things that keep you guessing and a twisty ending that you'd never expect. Another amazing, TBR worthy book from Mary! Release date April 2, 2024. 💫

As a nurse, I enjoyed reading the point of view of the main female nurse character in this book. Sometimes slow burn thrillers like this bother me. While the characters were well-developed and the premise for the book was intriguing, I was confused with the timeline (it wasn't very clear about the timing of Meghan and Caitlin's reconnection and Caitlin's becoming the patient). I also felt that the slow build-up of the book's first half led to a real let-down of an ending.

This book was definitely entertaining, and kept me hooked until the end. There were a lot of complicated pieces to the story, and I got a bit confused by the timeline. Overall, this is a good solid read. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
