Have you ever read a book and immediately decided you must read everything written by the author? This was one of those books for me!

This book captured my attention from the very beginning and did not disappoint. Full of twists and an ending I could not have predicted. I loved everything about this one. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who loves psychological thrillers.

<i>She’s Not Sorry</i> is a twisty thriller with problems arising from all angles. You’ll be immediately drawn in with an intense phone call that sets the tone and pace.

The story (first person POV) follows Meghan, an ICU nurse who happens to be a recent divorcee and thus, a single mother of a teen daughter. Her family situation brings struggles of its own, but then Caitlin Beckett comes into the ICU as a patient.

Caitlin has the entire ICU staff buzzing. She’s apparently tried to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge, but she somehow survived the treacherous fall. Now she lies in critical condition, in a coma that she may or may not come out of. Her parents are always around to care for her, but there’s something off about them. The happy family dynamic they attempt to display doesn’t quite seem to fit in with the little bits of information that Meghan learns about the Becketts, and it seems Caitlin may be the root of the problem. Just as we learn this, the details of Caitlin’s fall become more and more murky. Did she actually attempt suicide or was she pushed by one of the many characters who have a reason to hold grudges against her?

As we follow Caitlin’s story, Meghan tells us another—that of Nat Cohen, a friend from high school she’s recently reconnected with. She suspects Nat’s husband is abusing her and having lost a patient in the past to domestic abuse, she’s determined to save he. But things aren’t always so cut and dry…

What I like about <i>She’s Not Sorry</i> :
- The gradual pace that builds effectively. Each chapter drew me deeper into the story without presenting too much information at once.
- Meghan’s character development. Mary Kubica did a phenomenal job making her seem real and relatable.
- The setting. I’ve never been to Chicago, but the way Kubica describes it makes me feel like I have. And as someone with a medical background, I can attest to the details of the ICU and of nursing in general that she describes. She talks about Meghan’s duties as a nurse just enough to be realistic.
- The twists. Kubica did a good job weaving together various plot points that all seem unrelated initially.

What I didn’t love:
- The story leaves some loose ends. I won’t mention them specifically so that I don’t give any spoilers, but there are some questions I’m left with after having finished the book.
- Predictability. I guessed most of the twists long before they were revealed.

Overall, it’s well worth the read. You can grab your copy on April 2nd, 2024.

Although I did like the main twist in this I felt like too many of the shockers were coincidental to all happen to the main character. It felt too forced to be shocking. Not my favorite Mary Kubica. I'll round my 2.5 to a 3 since it did not take me long to get through this.

The formatting was a little difficult to read on this one, but I still had a very good time with this one and the twists were fantastic.

I’m always excited for a new Kubica! This was a quick read and the last 40% or so I devoured. Kubica weaves multiple stories together to create an intriguing mystery. Meghan, the MC, is an ICU nurse.. which was a different take. I think that aspect and her personal life as a whole kept me interested, even though things were slower in the beginning.

I questioned most of the characters… they’ll all leave you pondering. The twists come towards the end and I actually had to stop and go back a few pages to wrap my head around one of them. I’m a sucker for a good twist! An enjoyable quick thriller, although not my favorite from her.

I was hooked on this book from the first page. This book had a choke hold on me. I questioned all the characters at one point, the twists were so unexpected. Mary Kubica is the perfect storyteller.

I got ahead of myself since this book is not publishing until April 2024, but the second I was approved, I moved this to the top of my list! Holy cow, this book was absolutely A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! Kubica is one of my favorite authors, and I will read anything she writes. This is her best yet, which is hard to beat since her previous books are also amazing!

This was a slow burn thriller, and even though the first half was slower, the leading up to the chaos was done perfectly, I could not stop reading! The second half was a freaking rollercoaster ride, so hold on tight!

Meghan, a seasoned ICU nurse, has a new patient who tried to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge. Caitlin is in a coma, but as details emerge, Caitlin's family and police think she may have been pushed off the bridge. Meanwhile, there is a man on the loose stalking women and entering their apartments. Meghan has a teenage daughter, so not only is she worried about that she is also dealing with her patient. Add this one to your TBR list!! This is one of the best thrillers I've read in a long time!

Kubica just keeps getting better and better. This had so many twists and turns, I was suspicious of everyone the entire time! Part 2/the ending pieced everything together just right. I wish the Milo situation had more of an ending, but oh well! Still fantastic.

The newest book from Mary Kubica is here and it's another winner! She's Not Sorry is Kubica's April 2024 release, and even 5 months out, I couldn't wait to start it. I found myself audibly gasping at times reading this one and couldn't stop turning the pages fast enough.

Mary Kubica continues to write some of my all time favorite thrillers! Book after book she manages to create the most interesting characters and gripping plots. A must read!

Mary Kubica did not disappoint with her newest release! I loved the setting for this one. And I especially loved the shoutout she gave to OTs! The storyline features an ICU nurse caring for her patient whose background and accident keeps you guessing. Kubica does such a good job tying in every storyline and keeping you on your toes with every character. SO many good twists!! This was a hit for me.

Wow! This was a great book! So many twists and turns I never saw coming! Just when I thought I knew what was happening another twist! This book was so unpredictable! I’m a nurse, so it was impressive to see how so many aspects of the protagonist’s job as a nurse were so true to real life. There were just a few things about this story that gave me considerable pause, as they weren’t true to character, but the story was so riveting I didn’t care. I would recommend this book as a true page turner every day! I want to thank the publisher for allowing me to read it and write a review. Mary kubica newest book, “She’s not sorry” is a psychological thriller that had me hooked from the prologue! I got through this book pretty quickly.

Kubica did do a good job of adding in a lot of twists and turns along the way, although I did figure some of the plot twist out, before it was fully revealed.

Overall I enjoyed the characters in the story, and completely didn’t expect how the story ended. I enjoyed caitlin as the villan but still don’t understand why she targeted Meghan in the first place. Additionally I did think it was weird that their eas no follow up with the Bennett’s and Meghan after what she did with Caitlin.

I was excited to get an ARC copy of She’s Not Sorry because I really enjoyed Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica. This book truly kept me guessing and all the twist and turns truly kept me on my toes. I love a story I cannot easily predict and Mary Kubica truly delivered. The book is fast paced and it kept me engaged and not wanting to put it down. It shows how sometimes good people are at times preyed upon because of how selfless they are but also a good person may have to examine what they would do in the end to save themselves.

ICU nurse Meghan has to care for Caitlin, a beautiful girl that tried to end her life...or did she?

As the story unravels, there are multiple storylines at play. Meghan is trying to protect herself and her daughter--from an ex husband that tries to undermine her, from a killer praying on single women on the streets, from dark characters that seem inevitably bound to her ICU patient with the mysterious past.

The high-stress job, high-risk neighborhood, and highly suspicious family of her patient keep Meghan on edge and naturally build suspense. She's a modern woman with relatable fears, and all the elements keep a reader cruising through the story quickly.

There were definitely a few obvious moments, but overall a solid story worth the investment to read.

Really well done mystery/thriller with fun twists and turns. The novel falters a bit towards the end as the author throws in too many moving parts.

Mary Kubica does it again! Five bright stars for this gripping psychological thriller. While reading this the dread is palpable. I felt uncomfortable in my skin and was looking over my shoulder while I was home alone. Ma'am, the twists are TWISTING. My mouth was agape, on the floor, in need of a jack stand to bring it back up after the first twist was revealed. And make sure to keep that jack stand close by because it doesn't end there. I went in blind and I recommend you do too. Trust Queen Mary Kubica to take you on a wild ride.
