Omg this book kept me going I even finished it in one sitting. I loved the setting of the hospital for the MC and then trying to solve the mystery before time runs out. I really don’t want to say too much else I don’t want to spoil anything but wow this book was soo good. I’ll definitely be looking into more books from this author 5/5

Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing, NetGalley, and Mary Kubica for a digital review copy of She's Not Sorry in exchange for my honest review. Kubica has become an instant favorite for mystery thrillers. She's Not Sorry is by far her best yet! From the attention-grabbing start of this twisted tale to the unexpected reveals and twists leaving the reader questioning every character, Kubica does not disappoint. Meghan Michaels is a divorcee, single parent, and ICU nurse who is providing care for a coma patient who attempted suicide. Set in Chicago, Meghan runs into Nat, an old acquaintance from high school, who is dealing with domestic abuse. Meghan's compassionate nature leads her to become entangled in Nat's situation. If that is not enough, Meghan is on high alert because a man has been attacking women in the area of town where she lives with her teenage daughter. Settle in for this chilling read that you won't want to put down until you are finished!

I love all of Mary Kubica's books and this one was no exception. There were so many twists and turns that I did not see coming. It was such a hard book to put down. All the characters are well written. You are not sure who to trust. I highly recommend giving this book a read if you enjoy thrillers.

Don't sleep on She's Not Sorry by Mary Kubica! This psychological, medical thriller is one-of-a-kind. Mary Kubica describes the medical scenes with realistic expertise. I am a respiratory therapist and my profession isn't often mentioned, but Mary Kubica writes like she's worked in healthcare herself without making it too complicated. Very refreshing.
The psychological aspects of this thriller are just as intriguing as the medical parts. I found myself confused and shell-shocked right along with the main character. The story starts off a little slow. If you stick with the slow burn though, you will be burning through the pages at the end.

ICU Nurse Meghan Michaels forms a bond with the family of Caitlin Beckett, a young woman who is fighting for her life after narrowly surviving a harrowing fall. Caitlin was originally thought to have attempted suicide but, an eye witness account suggests otherwise. Was she pushed? And if so, by whom?
She’s Not Sorry was a solid domestic thriller filled with all sorts of twists and turns. There was one particular twist that absolutely floored me, which I loved. However, it changed the trajectory of the book in a way that I didn’t really like and found it difficult to connect with. With that being said, I loved how the author breathed life into the characters and made me feel as though I knew them somehow. The main character, Meghan Michaels was a nurse. While I have no real knowledge of the profession, I really appreciated how the author put a lot of effort into accurately representing the job and everything that comes with it.

Thank you net galley and publisher for this ARC. This book felt different to me than other Mary Kubica books and I enjoyed the different writing style. I couldn't put it down after 70%. There were several twists I didn't see coming and some I did. I would recommend this book,

This was a quickly paced, easy to read thriller by Mary Kubica, that for me was much better than some of her other books I’ve read. I appreciated that there were multiple plots/mysteries, that made it feel like danger was always on the next page. There were many loosely, and sometimes unknowingly, interwoven characters that made committing to the “whodunnit” almost impossible - I changed my mind multiple times, going back and forth throughout the book. And the initial twist? I didn’t see that coming. I don’t know if the plot flew over my head, but I truly was blindsided by the twist, which is rare for me to say. Even now, while I fully appreciate how well crafted it was, I’m still hung up on whether I misinterpreted the timeline or it just made no sense, and there’s a strong possibility I may reread part one for some clarity. The last twist, solving the unrelated (but also somehow related) mystery was not as revelatory and pretty predictable, but still interesting nonetheless.
I’ll be thinking about this one for a while, and that’s high praise for me. Though my thinking is mostly going to be about the twist and the timeline, I think that’s the alone is enough to recommend this to others so I can hear their interpretation of it too.
4 stars, as this wasn’t perfect and there were some plot holes, but definitely a memorable one for 2023.
Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for a chance to read and review this one.

I had a difficult time rating this book, it was so drawn out and descriptive in the first 70% it took me a long time to get through. I was intrigued by the story and waiting to see where it was going so I kept reading, but I felt like I was reading a lot of fluff. Then when the twist came, my jaw dropped and there was all sorts of wild stuff that happened after that. The final reason I am rating this book a 3.5 is that I still have questions after finishing it and I felt that there could have been one more question answered in a twisty way that would have made me like it more. Thank you NetGalley for the arc!

This book hooked me from the 1st page. There were so many twists and I only guessed one (I'm pretty good at guessing after reading so many novels in this genre so I LOVE not being able to guess them all). The ending leaves you with a few unanswered questions, but I think it was done deliberately so you can come to your own conclusions. A true psycholical thriller because it makes you think you're going crazy and keeps you guessing while on the edge of your seat. Absolutely recommend!

This book was way too long.
We follow Meghan, a nurse, go about her life. She spends a lot of time around trains in Chicago. I don’t know Chicago, and a lot of details like names of streets and L trains are thrown in. I didn’t understand any of that.
Nothing happens for the first 65 percent of the book. I struggled to get to that point. I didn’t care about any of the characters or about the plot by this point. I thought I’d end up giving this book only 2 stars. But once the action picked up, it got much better.
I’m not a fan of the step by step writing. For example: Her phone rang. She opened her leather bag and began the attempt to find her phone before it stopped ringing. Instead she found gum, her wallet, and her keys. Finally on the fifth ring, she found her phone. She pulled it out and answered it… Yeah, I get bored from that kind of writing. I know a lot of others love it and that it can build the suspense for them. It was just a miss for me.
The first twist really did surprise me, which is why the star rating went up. I’ll try this author again. She is obviously creative and talented.
I received this advanced copy from Netgalley for my honest review.

I thought this book was an extremely slow burn, the beginning I thought was boring and repetitive, it took me a lot longer to get through this because of that. About 70% through the twist and turns started happening to keep you more intrigued.
![](https://netgalley-profiles.s3.amazonaws.com/avatar1114219-micro.png?1738854447)
The pace in this one starts slow and then gradually ramps up until the final 30% which will send you on a wild ride.
The tone and mood stay consistently dark and creepy, so even when not much is happening, you still feel like something bad is just around the corner, just like in a horror movie and the creepy music starts.
THE TWISTS! The main twist particularly floored me and sent me into a downward spiral of self-doubt, because HOW did the author play me like that?!
Some critiques: There seemed to be an overabundance of unnecessary details and repetition, there were so many loose ends that were never tied up, and the main character’s choices were odd.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced reader copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I enjoyed this book, Keep me all night reading! I read other books from the same author Mary Kubica, and this one might be one of my favourites. The perfect book for a vacation I Recommend :)

Meghan works as a nurse to support herself and her sighted. When Caitlin becomes her patient, she gets close to her story and the investigation into her attempted suicide… or attempted murder.
This is a good one but the excitement and suspense takes sometime to kick in. At about 60%, it goes from 30 mph to 80 and just keeps the gas on the pedal. I loved the main twist, but there were some additional twists to shock the reader even further. There was some good family drama as well for a sub plot.
“I’m not a bad person. I’ve just done something bad.”
She’s Not Sorry comes out 4/2.

Wowowow!!! I literally shrieked out loud when I found out about Caitlin. That was a twist I did not see coming. I expected the Luke thing, but narrator pushing Caitlin was the best twist I have experienced in awhile. I have to admit I felt it was slow at first and was about to put it down. Then I got to about half way through and it took a turn for the better. I was on the edge of my seat and ended up staying up all night reading to find out what happened next ! Thank you for the wonderful writing and interesting storyline !

This book actually gave me nightmares and that's saying a lot. Absolutely a fantastic thriller and chiller for those winter nights and you want something to wrap around you. This book had me guessing until the end and the ending is a plot twist that I would never guess. Absolutely an amazing book and I can't wait for this to be released in 2024, definitely adding this to my list of anticipated books of 2024.

I really enjoyed this slower-paced mystery/thriller from Mary Kubica. Typically I enjoy more fast-paced books, especially thrillers and mysteries; however this book still pulled me in and kept me engaged while simultaneously wondering when the plot was going to start. It seems that most of the book is really the setup so that the big reveal at the end concerning the patient is more impactful. Additionally the subplot about the women getting attacked woven through the whole book added to the thrilling and creepy factor of the story. Overall the book had a an unsettling feel to it which I’m sure was intended. Additionally we have a morally grey main character which certainly made things interesting, especially at the end. I would recommend this book, and it will have you guessing the whole way through!
Thank you for the ARC!

This book is AMAZING! Had me hooked from the first page and kept me guessing all the way to the end. Meghan is an ICU nurse whose life takes a turn when a new patient arrives in a coma. As the story begins to unravel, it becomes apparent that everything is not as it seems... just when I thought I knew what was going on, I was wrong! The twists were unexpected and definitely kept me on my toes! Would 100% recommend!

Initially this was a slow burn for me, but once I hit 60% I absolutely knew there was no way I was putting the book down until it was finished.
I thoroughly enjoyed the twists, and would absolutely recommend to anyone.

Solid four stars. I was reading this at a restaurant and my jaw was dropped for 45 seconds after the big reveal. Kubica is such a skilled writer that I feel dumb for not predicting it. Although I was half right about the ending. I would have given five stars if the resolution is it relates to the patient’s family was better explained. They aren’t really addressed at the end. (I don’t want to give too much away)
