This was a fast paced thriller and kept me hooked. I enjoy when medical meets thriller in a storyline. The ending fell a little flat for me, but overall I would definitely recommend!

i was so excited to receive an advance copy of a mary kubica book (!) and talk about a book to get you out of a reading slump! this one had me hooked and i devoured it. the twists just kept coming and i couldn't stop reading. i would have liked some more wrap-ups with some of the side characters, like the restaurant owner and the brother, but would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a fast-paced thriller that hooks you from the start! i finished it in 24 hours. i couldn’t decide if i was more worried about caitlin’s story or the man killing women and the way it all tied up in the end was A+!

When I started this book, I thought okay this is a kidnapping story like all the others. I do think some of the book was predictable for me, but I'm very good at figuring things out! I enjoyed the authors writing and style, I continued to turn the pages engaged in the story.

My only downfall was the ending, I feel like it was just open ended mediocre with unanswered questions.

Overall I enjoyed this read. Thank you

Thank you so much NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review! This book had all of the makings to be a five star thriller! I loved how it kept me guessing the entire time. I never would have guessed who actually pushed Caitlin off the bridge! The part that didn’t align well for me was the ending. I suspected Luke was the one from the start, but it never really tied in for me. Did the husband know she killed Caitlin? Why did Luke kidnap Sienna really? Him kidnapping her didn’t make sense to me. There were just too many loose ends. Overall it was still a great thriller!

Thank you to @netgalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing/Park Row for an arc of She’s Not Sorry in exchange for an honest review!

I really enjoyed this book! The pacing was perfect and I was hooked instantly. I finished this book in two sittings and didn’t realize I was almost done until I looked, very bingeable! I will say part of the plot was a bit far fetched but still did not take away from this book! There were a ton of twists, I did not see them coming! Definitely get your hands on this book!

She's Not Sorry follows our main character, Meghan, who is an ICU nurse and single mother. She's taking care of a young woman who barely survived jumping off a bridge, becoming more and more involved in trying to figure out her family dynamics and life story. It comes out that this woman, Caitlin, may not have jumped off the bridge after all...she was likely pushed. In other news, a man is attacking women around the city and has yet to be caught. While this book had a major plot twist that did catch me off guard, I thought the reveal of this plot twist was cheapened due to the reader being completely unaware of an alternate timeline taking place. The nursing aspect of the story was well done and accurate, and make the main character relatable. While both the main storyline and the secondary storyline of the attacks were both interesting to read about, it didn't seem like they really connected or needed to be in the same book. I would've enjoyed reading about them as separate novels instead, as they both carried so much weight that it made it hard to be entirely invested in either one. The conclusion of the story was left a little bit open-ended, which added some thrilling uneasiness to the story as a whole.

I love Mary Kubica!! Her writing is addictive and never fails to leave me with my jaw dropped open.

She does a fantastic job of instilling doubt into each character you’re introduced to, so you truly never know who to trust or who is at fault. I LOVED the twist - maybe someone who has read more mystery than me would have guessed it was coming, but it was a complete shock to me. After I was about 60% into the book, I could not put it down and finished it in one sitting. Kubica has her audience in a vice grip with She’s Not Sorry, as all the characters are compelling and you’re not sure what’s next. All the relationships (romantic and platonic) were well established so we felt like all the character choices had intention behind them, making this story all the more confusing and intriguing.

I do think that Meghan came off as gullible near the end of the story. After everything she’s been through and what happened, how is she so easily mentioning key information to people?? C’mon girl. LOL but besides that, this truly was a page turner that I enjoyed. I also loved where we were left off at the ending - her writing just keeps giving and giving!

I agree with many other fellow reviewers - Mary Kubica did not disappoint. This psychological thriller kept me guessing til the end. There are many unexpected twists that I will not reveal. All I can say is get a copy, set aside a few hours and you will be totally immersed in this book.

Thank you Net galley for this ARC.

This might be my favorite book from Mary Kubica so far! While the beginning is a slower start, the rest of the book is built around those early chapters. I had an inkling as to what was going on early on but I was still surprised by some twists and revelations. I love when I'm able to predict some of the story but still end it with surprises I didn't guess.
As usual, I was hooked pretty early on and I finished this quick. I didn't want to put this down, even reading at a family gathering.

Meghan Michaels, an ICU nurse, recently divorced and raising her 16-year-old daughter, Sienna, She's assigned to take care of a suicide patient who recently jumped off a bridge, The patient's name is Caitlin, and she's in a critical condition that she may not survive. Meghan finds herself drawn into Caitlin's life, forming a bond with her family members, who share their daughter's secrets, Meghan also worries about an old school friend she recently crossed paths with: Nate, who might be an abuse victim needing urgent help. There’s also a dangerous man out there hunting women, and he's too close to the district where she and her daughter live. Meghan also notices a suspicious man lurking around Caitlin's room outside of visiting hours. Are these three mysteries connected? That is what I kept asking myself the whole time I was reading this book. I love Mary Kubica's brilliant and riveting writing style, and this book is a winner. I absolutely recommend it.

Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing/Park Row for sharing this amazing book's digital review copy with me in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Can I just say wow, Mary Kubica does it again! This book was such a fantastic suspense/ thriller I couldn’t put it down. As a critical care nurse myself I was very intrigued by how she wrote Meghan’s job and the difficulties nurses are currently going through at the bedside. The way the story and the characters wove together was so wonderful. The twist at the end of part one I did not see coming at all and the cliff hanger at the end was so good. So beyond grateful for this ARC!

I’ve read quite a few titles from Mary Kubica and this by far is my favorite. She’s Not Sorry grabbed me from the beginning and kept its hold until I finished. We are following Meghan, an ICU nurse, and divorced single mom, tasked with caring for a patient named Caitlin, who suffered a fall from a pedestrian bridge. Was it intentional? Self-inflected? Or did someone else have something to do with her fall. She is in a coma and no one knows whether or not she will survive.

Meanwhile, Meghan reconnects with an old friend from high school, Nat, at a support group for divorced individuals. Seeing a bruise on Nat’s head, her nurse intuition kicks in, and she goes all in trying to find out what is going on with Nat, and how she can help her.

There are so many twists in this book that I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I had to know what was going to happen next.
This book would have been a five star read for me, but I felt like I needed more from two of the storylines. I felt they just ended abruptly and without explanation. However, I didn’t see the ending coming and it was- WOW.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC copy in exchange for my honest review.

I will definitely be adding this book to my collection the day it comes out!

Thank you for the opportunity to preview She’s Not Sorry. This novel is centered on a single mom with a teenage daughter living in Chicago. Meaghan is a nurse. Recently divorced she is filled with anxiety. For her daughter and for herself. Recent muggings and beatings are stressful. The book opens with her worst nightmare. The background of Meaghans life provide the history of her current life and introduces the reader to the people who are in her circle. Plenty of suspects. The book’s dialogue slows the story at times.
Good book. Good author. 3 stars

Mary Kubica is my favorite author to read. Her details of Chicago neighborhoods, ( that ironically are my own) , make each story feel like it is happening outside my apartment door. What happens when patient relationships become unethical and leak into life outside the hospital room? This is for fans of Greys Anatomy and relationship based thrillers.

Thanks NetGalley for the advanced copy! In true Mary Kubica fashion, this book was full of twists and turns. It made you think… who in your life can you really trust? Sometimes family and friends can make you question what is right and what is wrong. An ICU nurse wants to be a good person but sometimes things happen that can be out of your control and what will it take to keep those close to you safe? I like that this book referenced real life places in Chicago so that I could feel like I was there (having previous knowledge of those areas). There were two separate issues/story lines going on in the book but again the bottom line was the same … who can you really trust? Can you assume everyone is noble based on how they present themselves to you or should you have your guard up at all times? You decide…

There’s a lot to unload in Meghan’s life. First she’s worried about being assigned as the critical care nurse for a coma patient that fell from a bridge. Second she reconnects with a friend from high school. Thirdly, there’s a man sexually assaulting and raping women in her neighborhood.

The friend comes to Meghan at just the right time providing the comfort and support from being a single mother stressing out over the fear of living alone with her daughter in a dangerous neighborhood.

Meghan is on edge and rightfully so. Having to walk home alone at night is scary for a woman especially with the recent robberies and attacks. The apartment her and her daughter share is under the L and not in a good neighborhood.

Mary Kubica writes an intriguing story about a single mother working full-time trying to raise her sixteen year old daughter living under the L in Chicago. Mary Kubica sets the scene with a patient arriving in ICU and Meghan the nurse responsible for her care. Going forward readers get an in-depth view into the life of Meghan living with her sixteen year old daughter sharing custody with her ex. What transpires from our time in Meghan’s life is nothing short of scary. Mary Kubica imposed many factors into building and creating the edgy feeling of being watched and followed.

She’s Not Sorry is about fear and how it’s stemmed from many things. Mary Kubica slowly moved readers into Meghan’s world walking us thru her life as a nurse, mother, and friend. The first part of the story creates this scary atmosphere where Meghan lives in a neighborhood that isn’t safe for women to walk home alone at night. Just when you’ve reach your breaking point in part one Mary Kubica hits you sideways with a blow so big you won’t know what happened. It’s a doozy of a shocker. Part two comes fast and at full speed. I read part two so fast it was like the rest of the world didn’t exist as I inhaled the words.

Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the opportunity to read this ARC! This was a solid 4.5 stars for me, rounded up. Boy was this a twistyyy one. The first half started off a little bit slow, but it still had great suspense and a good story line. As I got to about the halfway point, I literally couldn’t put the book down. I was constantly left trying to figure out which characters were trustworthy and which ones weren’t. As soon as I felt like I could trust somebody, the author was like, “think again.” I felt like I was being yanked in a million different directions, but in the best way. Almost like one of those roller coasters where it feels like you’re going to fly over the edge of the track and then it jerks you really fast the other direction.

Definitely a quick, fun read! My favorite by Mary Kubica to date.
