This is one of my favourite genres.
Set in Dublin, it tells the story of two gang families. When Danielle Lewis returns to Dublin after the attempt on her life 10 years before. She has a reason to return and wants answers.
I enjoyed this book by this new author. Gritty thriller with lots of twists.
It had quite a slow start and quite a few characters that came and went quite quickly.
But it did keep my attention and I’m definitely interested in reading where it goes from here as it did finish very suddenly
What a twister if a read, enjoyed the twists and turns of this book keeps you on your toes.
Danielle is back in Dublin hoping to find out who tried to kill her. But while she’s looking there area few surprises in store along the way who can she trust and who is looking out for who.
Hoping this will be a series as it was left as if it may continue, will look out for further instalments
I love this type of book so couldn't wait to get started, I don't think it's comparable to Martina Cole or kimberley Chambers but it's a good start, I would definitely buy future books by this author and hope that this story is explored more in further books. It is an easy read with some surprising twists. I loved the character of Danielle and was routing for her from the beginning, fingers crossed there is more to come
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this eARC.
Casey King is a new author to me and I'm a big fan of gangland thrillers and this read looked like something I'd enjoy. I think this is a good, well written, easy gangland read where I didn't like a lot of the characters who all have their own agendas. Danielle returns home to her family after a 10 year absence and not everyone is happy she is back, or that she is expected to help run the family business. I felt this book had a slowish start with the introduction of several characters quite quickly so it took a while for me to familiarise myself with them all. There is a lot going on in the story, at times it was hard keeping up and the pace soon began to pick up. I think the ending felt very abrupt and quite hurried. A good read overall, just not a great one - or one that wowed me, however my interest has been piqued and I think I'd like to read the next book to see how the characters develop. If you like gangland thrillers give this a go.
3.5 stars ⭐⭐⭐
If this is her first book well come on down and join other writers in this genre. A epic story I finished the book in 2 evenings. I didn't want it to end. Well done. Already waiting for her next book
I found myself both looking forward to reaching the end to find out what happened and dreading it because I didn't want the fun to end. I couldn't put this book down and you won't be able to either. I cannot recommend it enough!
Firstly thank you Netgalley for this Arc
