Emma and Grayson were teenagers when they were in their first movie together and it set them both on a trajectory that kept them on opposite sides of the silver screen and diehard enemies. Now, many years later, Emma was not only talked into acting again but with nemisis Grayson opposite her again. With all that pushes them together, but Hollywood trying to keep them apart, which is going to win?

This felt like a Hallmark read but it was cute and fun and feel good but with enough righteous indignation to not be too Hallmark. The callbacks made the constant connections good reading. The characters were quirky, comical and fun as Falon Ballard does.

I'm always so unbelievably grateful when I get a chance to review one of Falon's books. Like many books recently, it has taken me longer than anticipated to finish some books because of life circumstances.... but I finished it last night and it was just *chefs kiss*

I loved everything about this book. It includes everything that I love:
• Hallmark Vibes
• Enemies to Lovers
• Co-workers to Lovers
• VERY LITTLE Miscommunication (bonus points)
• My perfect amount of Schmexy Stuffs 🫢

These two are just everything.

I'll be thinking about this book for awhile LOL

Such a fun and flirty read by Falon Ballard! Emmy is an actress turned screenwriter turned actress again who's starring in her very own movie that she wrote. Grayson is cast as her leading man and Emmy is less than thrilled given their complicated past. Enemies to lovers and forced proximity with a little second change romance sprinkled in, I loved how steamy and sweet this romance was! Thanks Putnam and Netgalley for my copy.

I will 100% say that I am a rom-com snob - haha.

So I enjoyed listening to this book. I originally got it as an ARC, but didn't get to in by release day, so I grabbed the audio for it!

I don't always love a third act break up & this was one that missed the mark for me. The miscommunication (or no communication) trope just doesn't do it for me.

Grayson was fine as a character. Emmy was fine as a character. There was not things that I would outwardly say I did not like (other than Emmy's OVERUSE of the phrase "Grayson fucking West")

It was a good read, but not a super memorable read for me.

This reminded me of Ava Wilder's "Will they or won't they" combined with Bridget Morrissey's "Love Scenes," featuring excellent chemistry and the enemies-to-lovers trope!

I loved Lease on Love so I was thrilled to get to read Right on Cue! I loved the tension between the two main characters it was done flawlessly!!! I was rooting for them wholeheartedly!!!

I loved loved loved the first 2/3 of this book and read it in a day but the last 1/3 took me a sold 9 days to finish. I've spent the last few days trying to think back on why that was. I loved the character development and immediately related to Emmy and how she still felt the sting of a teenage love/infatuation to then be made fun of/embarrassed by the MMC. Then to come back and see him again as an adult and feel all those feelings and insecurities. I felt that. I loved watching the main characters fall in love with each other but I think I just hate a 3rd act break up/resolution/miscommunication that felt like ughhhh just freaking talk to each other. I can't say that I'm a talk about my feelings kinda person but it just made me feel so frustrated. Anyway... I did like this book, I love Falon Ballard and would read a menu if she wrote it. So there is that.

I love rom coms set in the celebrity world, so from the start, I knew this was going to be a win. From learning about the filming process to the scenes with the intimacy coordinator and the amazing small town location, I felt like I was part of the movie crew. All the articles and tabloids from the press were a great addition too! Enemies to lovers is never my favorite trope, but I think since this was more one-sided with Emmy versus both of them bickering, it worked really well. Still, I think the fact that Emmy was hating on Grayson for something that happened when they were kids was a bit immature, especially when it took her a good chunk of the book to get past it. To me, this definitely felt like one of Falon’s steamier books, which I guess comes with the coworkers with benefits trope, but I was all here for that!

I’ve read three of Falon Ballard’s books so far and have enjoyed all three. But this one has to be one of my favorites. Grayson and Emmy are perfect and I love them so much.

I have REALLY mixed feeling about this one!! I love Falon Ballard and I loved the plot/setting and characters BUT miscommunication played a HUGE role in this latest romcom and it got really FRUSTRATING for me!!

I wanted to like this more than I did. While still enjoyable overall, I found that the story and characters missed the mark in a few areas for me. First, Emmy was a difficult character to get behind. Maybe it was the setting of being an actress/producer in the world of Hollywood, but I found her to be overly privileged and immature. Same with Grayson. I found him to be unprofessional as well. Also, it's really hard to feel bad for someone who has a booming acting career who wishes they had become a professional hockey player instead.

The Right Person Wrong Time trope was also annoying to me mostly because of the multiple miscommunications that take place throughout the book. The third act breakup was the worst offender and, again, came across as emotionally immature of both parties in making these huge sweeping assumptions based on overhearing a few words.

Overall, I still enjoyed it and like Ballard's writing. I just hope her next book is more like Lease on Love!

This started out promising but then the miscommunication trope really kicked in and it was difficult to finish. It was unclear how Grayson came to suddenly be cast in a romcom when it was so different from his usual work and Emmy would believe whatever she heard without following up and would internalize it, leading to inevitable issues. Both their thought processes and their actions towards each other was aggravating. Readers who don't mind the miscommunication trope will probably appreciate this book more.

I was so excited to read this one because I loved Lease on Love but this one fell a little short for me. In many ways the characters felt underdeveloped and immature. While they had physical chemistry, I didn't sense any emotional connection. I would have loved to see more of Emmy's best friend and other characters that were briefly mentioned. Also, the third act breakup fell short for me and felt so rushed. While I don't enjoy the miscommunication trope, I think there are times when it can be done well and I didn't get that impression from this book.

I enjoyed the way this book balanced a mix of small town/Hollywood romance ideas and the setting of this book. I think with the mix of the set being in a small town, this book didn't feel like just another Hollywood romance. Emmy was down to earth and Grayson felt like a MMC you could trust, though their characters could've used a bit more development.

Overall, a solid 3 stars for me! There were parts I really enjoyed and made me smile, but others that completely missed the mark.

With moments of comedy gold and emotionally charged moments of grief and heartbreak, Falon Ballard has once again crafted a winning story perfect for a real-life Hollywood adaptation.

Emmy and Grayson are costars in a new movie Emmy has written. This isn't the first time they have met. They have actually worked before years prior where they shared a kiss in one if the scenes. That scene wasn't just a regular kiss, it was Emmy's first kiss and she was made fun of behind her hack by Grayson that it wasn't good. That haunted her to the current day. When she literally runs into Grayson, she still harbors all those negative feelings towards him. They have to learn to work together to make this movie work. This book contains tropes of enemies to lovers, a work relationship, forced proximity, he falls first, and instant attraction. I love hollywood romance so I am very biased. It's easy for me to like any book surrounding celebrity romance. I didn't think this was the BEST but it was definitely entertaining. I wish there was slightly more depth and I wasn't 100% sold on them being in love but I still thought it was a cute and entertaining rom com!

I love a good celebrity romance, and this one is worth the read! Emmy was a little immature at times from holding on to a grudge from their past, but it made for some excellent enemies to lovers scenes and for us to see her character grow throughout the book.

It was fast paced, and I loved the setting of them being on location while filming in a small town. It was fun to watch Emmy and Grayson evolve from enemies to costars with benefits to lovers. This book definitely had some steamy scenes, but also some really sweet, swoony moments. Both characters were dealing with insecurities which lead to deeper conversations between the two.

I was a teeny tiny bit disappointed that we didn’t get an amazing secondary cast of characters. Don’t get me wrong, there were still plenty of people to help Emmy find her way (and tell her when she was being an idiot 😂), but Falon’s previous two books, Lease on Love and Just My Type, had such phenomenal secondary characters that brought so much comedy to the storyline, that I felt this one was lacking in that department.

This was such a cute and sweet Rom-Com! I enjoyed it so much. I would definitely recommend this book. I read it in one sitting!

I ate this book up! I loved Greyson and Emmy and really loved the writing for this. The pacing felt a little slow at times, but I appreciated how it played into the small town tropes while still being a celebrity type romance. Really, I appreciated that Emmy was portrayed as a full woman, with wants and needs and she wasn't afraid to just go for it when she needed to. Greyson was also kinda adorable for a supposed grump.

I think where I felt like the book felt short was in an exploration of the original relationship between Emmy and Greyson. Maybe we could have used more flashbacks? There are times where Greyson is honest and tells Emmy is was basically in love with her the entire time and Emmy glosses over those admissions and never really reflects on them as revelations and I think that could have added depth to the book without messing with the timeline too much.

All in all though, I inhaled this and can't wait to read more!
