This the most perfect rom-com read. I absolutely loved the premise, especially with a FMC who is a down-to-earth woman with an interesting story.

The spice was perfect…and perfectly written. And the witty banter between not only the two MCs, but the FMC and her best friend and mom, is perfect.

If you love a good rom-com, you’ll love this book from Falon Ballard.

I will spare you the general synopsis but I will share this: We have Emmy and Grayson who must work together and can't manage to get their professionalism together!

You know those times when you are waiting for transportation or @ an appointment and you need something to read?
Yeah perfect book for those scenarios.

The characters were lacking depth and chemistry for me thus unable to connect and relate with events.
In various stages of the story we do get sprinkles of funny banter and 'SEXY scenes' and so
as an avid reader I must get to the end and the MEAT!

But for the most part it was those instances that kept the story fun for me but not really easy to engage.

Torn between 3 and 4, but ultimately decided to round up because this book was a fun, quick read that held my attention durning my reading slump. Can’t help but enjoy an enemies to lovers story, with a bit of nepo baby backstory. Emmy was a likeable character from the beginning and Grayson won be over by the end.

Fallon Ballard will continue to be an automatic read for me.

We need to take a moment to appreciate the perfection of a male MC that is Grayson Fucking West.

In a nutshell, Emmy Harper is a Hollywood nepo-baby, but after having a horrible acting experience in her first film at 15 & after her co-star badmouthed her, stomping on her deepest insecurities, she swore off actor & is now solely a screenwriter.

When a qualified female lead can’t be found, Emmy has to step in to play that role in HER story or else the film is getting canned. She finally agrees, but at the last second, the male lead gets injured & has to be replaced. He is replaced by none other than Grayson West, the jerk who was Emmy’s co-star in that first film that scarred her for life.

Obviously, Grayson is completely swoon worthy. However, the tension, of all types, between Emmy & Grayson is palpable & comes dangerously close to tanking the film. That is, until Emmy has a “light bulb” idea to fix their issues.

Y’all! This book was incredibly sexy & emotional & funny & panty soaking & just EVERYTHING! In my opinion, it’s Ballard’s best book yet. I don’t reread books often, but this one will for sure be reread.

This was a 5-Star Romance for me & I highly recommend snagging a copy!

Emmy is a rom com screen writer who is reluctantly staring in one of her movies. After having to be convinced to star in the movie, she arrives on location to find out her leading costar has been replaced by Grayson West. Emmy and Grayson have history and it's not pleasant. Now they have to pretend to fall in love.

There were a lot of things I liked about this book. I really liked the enemies to lovers aspect and the dynamic of hating the man you are supposed to pretend to love. I loved the friendship between Emmy and her best friend (the movie director) and Emmy and her mom. Her mom was hilarious and I enjoyed all of the scenes where she was a part of them. I liked the hair and make-up people for the movie and the friendship they developed with Grayson and Emmy. I did like the romance between Emmy and Grayson when it got to that part, It was believable that they would go from enemies to frenemies with benefits to a relationship.

I will say I felt the romance was a bit rushed and I would've liked to have seen a little more development of that relationship. I absolutely hated the 3rd act conflict. I thought it was childish to just run away and not get an explanation, I thought it was even more childish to not even let him explain when he desperately tried to. I was really enjoying the book until that point.

Overall, I did like the majority of the book and I did like how it ended.

I enjoyed this book much more than I thought I would! I am not the biggest fan of celebrity romance, but the author did a great job of keeping the characters grounded throughout the story. I appreciated the communication between the characters and this book has definitely cemented Falon Ballard as being an “auto-buy” author for me!

A cute, second chance romance, with a touch of steam and Hollywood glam. Probably my favorite book by this author so far.

Once I got into this one I didn’t want to put it down! I flew through the last two thirds of this book! Once we got to know Grayson I loved him! He was such a sweetheart! I loved Emmy too but she drove me crazy at the end. I loved the movie set setting and am enjoying how many Hollywood romances have been coming out. The chemistry between the two main characters was great and was probably my favorite part of the book! I also really liked the steam level of this book! The side characters were great and really rounded out the story.

The miscommunication in this book drove me crazy and honestly if it wasn’t for the major miscommunication at the end this probably would have been a 5 stars for me (I still loved it though overall)! Especially at the end if they would have just had a conversation like adults it would have been so much better. As someone who reads a ton of romance books every year (at least 75 the last two years) the miscommunication at the end is getting so overdone.

This is a fun read for anyone looking for a Hollywood romance! This was a 4.25 stars for me.

What happens when a romance screenwriter and the hottest guy in hollywood are cast on the same film? Sparks fly and not just romance sparks! Emmy and Grayson have chemistry that is off the charts. But they also hate each other, or so it seems. Grayson can't understand why Emmy is so mean to him, until she reveals he humiliated her on the set of her first movie. In order to get their roles and line right, they're forced to work together, and the chemistry sizzles...so they decide to get it out of their systems, and then get to work. But was starts as a one time romp, turns into more.

A Hollywood romance trope is a dime a dozen these days - if you want to set yourself apart, you really need to be exciting. While Right on Cue was surely cute and fun, it didn't have anything that set it apart from the crowd. It's childhood romance to enemies to lovers again, but it's one that's going to fall to the back of my brain in a few weeks. Fun for now, forgotten tomorrow if you know what I mean.

Emily Harper is known for her screenwriting skills, putting on some of the generation's greatest romance movies, but she hasn't been in front of the camera since her disaster first-film as a teenager. Grayson West is a heartthrob actor, but he was the reason Emily's acting career failed. So when they're cast alongside each other in Emily's latest film, disaster is sure to ensue.

In order to overcome their on-screen tension, Emily and Grayson enter into a friends with benefits situation to try and build some chemistry. But can they truly get over their childhood hurt when feelings start to develop?

If you're looking for fun, flirty, Hollywood glitz and glamour. Right on Cue definitely has plenty of all three. I thought this was the perfect balance of spice and plot, but again, just nothing that really wowed me overall. Not a bad read, but not anything to write home about either.

I declared Falon Ballard one of my auto-buy authors after reading Just My Type…and Right on Cue didn’t disappoint. I’m now convinced that I’m going to enjoy everything she writes (no pressure).

Super cute and fun rom-com. I could have done without the third-act breakup, but the rest of the book made up for dealing with the frustrating miscommunication trope.

Emma and Grayson were teenagers when they were in their first movie together and it set them both on a trajectory that kept them on opposite sides of the silver screen and diehard enemies. Now, many years later, Emma was not only talked into acting again but with nemisis Grayson opposite her again. With all that pushes them together, but Hollywood trying to keep them apart, which is going to win?

This felt like a Hallmark read but it was cute and fun and feel good but with enough righteous indignation to not be too Hallmark. The callbacks made the constant connections good reading. The characters were quirky, comical and fun as Falon Ballard does.

I'm always so unbelievably grateful when I get a chance to review one of Falon's books. Like many books recently, it has taken me longer than anticipated to finish some books because of life circumstances.... but I finished it last night and it was just *chefs kiss*

I loved everything about this book. It includes everything that I love:
• Hallmark Vibes
• Enemies to Lovers
• Co-workers to Lovers
• VERY LITTLE Miscommunication (bonus points)
• My perfect amount of Schmexy Stuffs 🫢

These two are just everything.

I'll be thinking about this book for awhile LOL

Such a fun and flirty read by Falon Ballard! Emmy is an actress turned screenwriter turned actress again who's starring in her very own movie that she wrote. Grayson is cast as her leading man and Emmy is less than thrilled given their complicated past. Enemies to lovers and forced proximity with a little second change romance sprinkled in, I loved how steamy and sweet this romance was! Thanks Putnam and Netgalley for my copy.

I will 100% say that I am a rom-com snob - haha.

So I enjoyed listening to this book. I originally got it as an ARC, but didn't get to in by release day, so I grabbed the audio for it!

I don't always love a third act break up & this was one that missed the mark for me. The miscommunication (or no communication) trope just doesn't do it for me.

Grayson was fine as a character. Emmy was fine as a character. There was not things that I would outwardly say I did not like (other than Emmy's OVERUSE of the phrase "Grayson fucking West")

It was a good read, but not a super memorable read for me.

This reminded me of Ava Wilder's "Will they or won't they" combined with Bridget Morrissey's "Love Scenes," featuring excellent chemistry and the enemies-to-lovers trope!

I loved Lease on Love so I was thrilled to get to read Right on Cue! I loved the tension between the two main characters it was done flawlessly!!! I was rooting for them wholeheartedly!!!

I loved loved loved the first 2/3 of this book and read it in a day but the last 1/3 took me a sold 9 days to finish. I've spent the last few days trying to think back on why that was. I loved the character development and immediately related to Emmy and how she still felt the sting of a teenage love/infatuation to then be made fun of/embarrassed by the MMC. Then to come back and see him again as an adult and feel all those feelings and insecurities. I felt that. I loved watching the main characters fall in love with each other but I think I just hate a 3rd act break up/resolution/miscommunication that felt like ughhhh just freaking talk to each other. I can't say that I'm a talk about my feelings kinda person but it just made me feel so frustrated. Anyway... I did like this book, I love Falon Ballard and would read a menu if she wrote it. So there is that.

I love rom coms set in the celebrity world, so from the start, I knew this was going to be a win. From learning about the filming process to the scenes with the intimacy coordinator and the amazing small town location, I felt like I was part of the movie crew. All the articles and tabloids from the press were a great addition too! Enemies to lovers is never my favorite trope, but I think since this was more one-sided with Emmy versus both of them bickering, it worked really well. Still, I think the fact that Emmy was hating on Grayson for something that happened when they were kids was a bit immature, especially when it took her a good chunk of the book to get past it. To me, this definitely felt like one of Falon’s steamier books, which I guess comes with the coworkers with benefits trope, but I was all here for that!
