I love this book so much! One of the best romcoms I’ve read in a while & my new favorite from this author. Enemies to lovers set in Hollywood. I couldn’t put it down & was sad when it was over. The chemistry between Emmy & Grayson leapt off the page. I loved the wink at other romance tropes. And the scars they each carry were believable & gave their love story more tension & depth. A must read for fans of Nora Goes Off Script & Funny You Should Ask.

Right on Cue was a steamy rom com. It is a light, quick read with the happily ever after we are always seeking when reading a romance. I enjoyed this book.

This story revolves around Emmy Harper, a Hollywood screenwriter who is beloved and the daughter of two Hollywood celebrities. She is taking on the lead acting role in her own rom-com movie beside the actor, Grayson West, who broke her heart early in her career.

This was a 3.5 book for me. It fell short of a higher rating because I felt frustrated with both of the main characters in this story too frequently. The amount of miscommunication between the main characters was over the top for me. I think this story would have been better written from a dual POV. Emmy became very annoying with her insecurities and acted foolishly impulsive and childish.

That said, overall, I liked the chemistry and steam the characters had in the story.

This book is Single POV of the FMC Emmy who is a screen writer and the MMC Grayson who is an actor. The main romance troupes of this book are ennemies to lover and forced proximity with a third act breakup and HEA.

My thoughts:
Big picture, I think this overall is a good book with some small nitpick things that were not my favorite. This isn’t really in my opinion an ennemies to lovers it is more miscommunication to lovers. We aren’t really told what happened to make them “enemies” until much later in the book (miscommunication as children). With this book as a single POV the story and relationships feels very one sided. At many points I was wondering what Grayson was thinking and how he felt about situations. One example is the third act breakup due to another miscommunication; I would have loved to see how Grayson was doing when Emmy basically ghosted him or when they first re met on the set. After the third act breakup I loved that Grayson didn’t take Emmy back instantaneously but rather made her grovel.

This is such a fun enemies to lovers book! Strong chosen family vibes as well, I think I read it in less than three days, I was sucked in and wanted to know what had happened in the past to make these two hate each other, and also how it was going to play out in the end. Falon Ballard does a wonderful job of making the reader work for it, and not just dumping a neat little bow in our laps with a third of the book to go. Definitely recommend.

I love Falon Ballard's writing style; the snarky banter amongst all of the characters, the vulnerability and tenderness of Grayson, Emmy's narration, and I could go on and on...

Communication is SO important in any relationship, and I'm a little disappointed that Emmy reacted prematurely after overhearing a small portion of a conversation; however, it was just a teeny blip in a well executed story.

Right on Cue is a precious enemies-to-lovers romance that was nothing less than a joy to read. You wouldn't think that an Oscar winning Hollywood writer and People's sexiest man alive would make for relatable characters, yet somehow you leave this book feeling like Emmy and Grayson are your friends. Right on Cue is a great book if you are looking for something light with a little spice!

Right on Cue was absolutely adorable! It brightened my day, and was exactly what I needed.

The actor in me was so glad to see that there was obviously research put into this book! I could gush about the scene with the intimacy coordinator for ages, but suffice it to say that I was very glad to see my chosen field reflected so well.

Okay, now on to the really important things - Emmy and Grayson! They are so adorable, and I loved seeing them learn about each other and grow with each other. I’m also very glad that everyone told Emmy exactly how silly she was being, because they were 100% correct 😂

Cute story. I read it on the plane and it was a quick read about a Hollywood story writer and leading man. It felt like a hallmark movie within a hallmark book. Great read for this time of year.

I loved it. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorites. This was so cute and I truly rooted for Emmy and Grayson.

Right on Cue was cute, slightly spicy and overall a easy and fun read. The miscommunication trope (multiple instances) and Emmy's coldness knocked this down a star for me. While the characters had great chemistry and the story was charming, it felt like the the beginning of the story was rushed and the ending felt a bit forced. Although this one might not have been a favorite, I'll continue to keep an eye out for future releases by the author.

This book, overall, was a lot of fun to witness. The last 50 pages or so were sort of infuriating with the lack of faith the characters had in each other. Apart from the 3rd act annoyances, I think the plot was entertaining and held my attention for long periods of time, which is a serious feat. Grayson took some time to warm up, understandably considering the lighthearted enemies to lovers that this book features. But, he ended up being a big part of my enjoyment and thank god for him.

i love second chance/enemies to lovers, and falon ballard did not disappoint! right on cue was a super fun and cute read. this book was spicier than her other books, but i still enjoyed it.

let me start out by saying, @falonballard gives us enemies to lovers gold with this sweet & steamy romcom. grayson & emmy had the banter, sarcasm, and spice we all love and need. celebrity romances can be so hit or miss for me, but this was done perfectly.

After the shocking loss of her father Emmy is left questioning everything. She is a talented, Oscar winning screenwriter, with two dazzling starlet parents. For her whole life she has been in the spotlight, under constant criticism and if it was up to Emmy she wouldn’t have to deal with any of the hard scrutiny of being famous.

When Emmy begins working on her new movie she thinks she’s planned everything out perfectly, the only problem is she didn’t realize how hard it would be to actually be in her own movie.

Emmy is haunted by the media, their judgements, and the judgment of someone from her past who hurt her.

When Grayson walks onto location Emmy is anything but excited, can she really set aside her feelings and work with him?

I just wanted to say without spoilers how much I absolutely loved this book! This has moved to the top of Fallon’s three novels I have read. The whole book I was giggling so hard and just couldn’t get enough of Grayson and Emmy. The development of their relationship throughout the book is so seamless and realistic. I see myself a lot in Emmy. Her fear of commitment and wondering if she can truly love and trust someone, if she can truly be herself. To make things more complicated she has to navigate this in front of the world. The only thing missing was a look more into their future and what it becomes.

I really really loved this book and the story. It’s my first book by Falon, but I’ve already borrowed two others from the library. I like her character development and how she wrote Emmy and Grayson’s love story. I only wish it was dual POV so we could get insight into Grayson’s thoughts. Otherwise, I loved this!

This book was a fun ride of a second chances/enemies to lovers in a small town/Hollywood world (it sounds like a lot but it works so well) where Emmy Harper and Grayson fucking West reunite to film a new romcom written by Emmy years after a horrible debut to acting in a film together when they were teenagers.

There were some parts of this book I really loved, like the individual and together character developments of the main characters, the puns the PUNS, the ~Hollywood Magic~ of it all, the tension builder of having to film an intimate scene with someone you "hate," and the cast and crew of side characters. The only thing that could have been improved from my standpoint was to actually show us more of the dialogue from the script instead of just saying that the characters were saying their lines!

This was such a fun read, a total joy. Enemies to lovers at its finest, in a glamorous movie shoot setting. It ticked all my boxes. Emmy Harper, known for her excellent screenplay writing, is unexpectedly thrown into the deep end as the leading lady of her own latest script, only to find her costar is the man she said ruined her acting career and self esteem when they were both young teenagers starting out in Hollywood. It’s hilarious and warm, and there’s quite a bit of spice for the spice-seekers. Lots of fun characters, lots of nice imagery with being on-set and in the world of movie making magic. I thoroughly enjoyed this, and I recommend for anyone looking for a sweet romantic read to get lost in.

I am a big fan of Falon Ballard's books and her previous one, "Just My Type" is one of my all time favorites!

But somehow (and this could just be me!!) I struggled to see Ballard's signature in this one. The main characters had palpable sexual chemistry. And maybe that's why ultimately, I felt the book was too much about their physical attraction and less of the romance between them. This was overall, a fast and breezy read.

That being said, I do very much look forward to reading the author's future books!

This is so cute!!! I thoroughly enjoyed this book more than I thought I would.
I think Emmy’s character can be frustrating at times, but her personal growth and discovery explains why (that was understandable in the end). I am kind of bummed about the third act break up and the miscommunication trope being in this book, especially because they are over done and not necessary. Also the reasoning for the break up was so stupid!!
That being said, the plot of two actors falling in love is something I am a sucker for. Especially when there is an established history between the two main characters. I do wish we got some of Grayson’s POV because that would have been the cherry on top for me. Maybe a sequel is in the works?!
Overall, this book gets a 3.5 stars rounded up! Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me access to this book early!
