Emmy + Grayson 🫶 After a tough first role on screen, Emmy sticks to screenwriting and prefers to be behind the camera. But when her latest rom-com proves tough to cast the leading lady, she ends up front and center. As fate would have it, she’s starring opposite of her nemesis from that very first role all those years ago - Grayson. Meanwhile Grayson is hoping this more serious role will set him apart from his typical action genre. Back on the same set again as costars, there is a lot of unresolved history and also sexual tension. 🔥 Absolutely loved this sweet story! Small town charm with big time stars, celebrity romance, enemies with benefits, enemies to lovers, second chance, forced proximity, film set, and costars catch real feelings. 🎥 4.5 stars (always hate the miscommunication issue).

I love love love Falon Ballard ! They just know how to do the right amount of spice and the right amount of fluff. The plot and the banter had me hooked the whole time. Another hit !

I enjoyed this book from the first to last page. It is everything you want in a rom com! The characters are great and likable. If you like a hollywood romance this is the book for you. The writing was great and the plot was fun. An easy feel good read!

My review is closer to a 3.9 for this book. Thank you to NetGalley and Putnam Books for allowing me to read this book for a review.

This book is a classic enemies to lovers with a bit of spice in between. When the main character Emmy the writer of the soon-to-be-filmed romance movie finds herself now as the main actress and working with Grayson West her past co-star who ruined her career and reputation she has to decide if she can work with him to make this movie a hit. During this, they discover they actually have a lot in common, and things on set get heated after they are forced to film a sex scene for the movie. However, there is a twist that could set the relationship back when things are moving forward.

I thought that this was a classic romcom enemies-to-lovers troupe. It was really comforting and easy to read. I think the ending could have had a little more drama if you ask me with all the build-up and Emmy's character development during the filming process. They make her seem like her feelings are invalid when I would have been the same way after the conversation she had overhead, it just felt a little rushed and that she was all to blame in that situation.

For those wondering about the spice in this book, there is some spice. I would rate it as a 2.5/5 spice. One spicy scene is heavily described but after that, they are more passively described

Again, thanks netgalley and putnam books!

Right on Cue is the perfect Rom Com! This book has all my favorite elements: witty banter, enemies to lovers, small town vibes, funny supporting characters, a swoon-worthy leading man, true connections and heartwarming moments with a nice dose of spice. I loved Falon Ballard’s two previous Rom Coms, Just My Type and Lease on Love and this makes a Hat Trick of just very well written romance books. Please write more. I do want to thank #Putnambooks and #Netgalley for the ARC, but the honest opinions are all my own and I would be a Falon Ballard fangirl even without the ARC.

This book was an easy read by an author I hadn't read before. I devoured it in a matter of days. It was sweet with a touch of spice but I'm a sucker for these tropes and really enjoyed it start to finish. I felt it was well paced and a fun, light read. Would definitely recommend!

I have read every Falon Ballard book and didn’t think I could love one more, but then I read Right on Cue, and can say this is my favorite one! A fun read that I couldn’t put down. Thanks NetGalley for the early read!

A cheesy romcom book for everyone to devour in a short period of time.
I ate the first 50% of the book. I enjoyed the filming aspect of the story and how the actors and behind the scenes people work. It was very interesting to read. I believe the sexual relationship of the characters happened a bit too quick for my taste that during the 60-70% mark it started to get dull. Nevertheless, it was an average yet good read for someone in need of quick romcom fix.

Oh I loved this book sooooo much!!!

This was my first Falon Ballard novel, but now I have already gone back and read another (Just My Type, equally fantastic!) because I loved this so much. This novel features Emmy and Grayson, once *almost* teenage lovers now enemies with all the pent up angst you could want. I loved every second of reading about these two characters. It was the perfect amount of slow burn, true relationship building, and then FIREEEE when the time was right! These characters had depth and great backstory, without the story feeling too heavy at any time. I would recommend this to fans on Abby Jimenez and Emily Henry.

I will post my FIVE STAR review on instagram @em.readsalot during the week of publication.

Loved this quick and easy read! Falon Ballard is turning into an author that I have to read all her latest books and Right on Cue is another book I have loved by her!

Full of charm, I was rooting for the main character from the first page and read this book in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down! Right on Cue is full of tropes in the best way possible and had a hallmark charm about it! Not to mention, some fun and steamy scenes! You won’t be disappointed when reaching for Right on Cue!

This is the second book I have read from this author and I liked this one much more than Lease on Love. This is the story of a woman who writes a romance film and ends up starring in it opposite the guy who broke her heart as a teenager. I thought the book was alright! Nothing super memorable about this one, but an easy and fun read.

This one kind of reminded me slightly of Annabelle Monaghan's NORA GOES OFF SCRIPT, and I'm not really mad about it. Really it's just because it's another novel where a screenwriter falls in love with the leading man of her movie, but in this one, Emmy is the daughter of Hollywood royalty, and is trapped starring in her own movie. The leading man is an old rival from her sole attempt at acting. The animosity is still there to the point where they agree to one boink to get it out of their systems. Except it doesn't end there.

Cheesy, predictable, and I'm probably only not terribly excited about it because I'm not in the best headspace for romance right now.

Thanks, NetGalley!

This book and all it's tropes, were right up my alley. It was sweet, with a side of spice. I would've loved to have seen more spice! 🌶️ but the dance was good, not overly cheesy! Great read again Fallon!

I found Right on Cue to be a delightful book filled with humor, romance and insight to what actors and actresses go through while making movies. Falon Ballard captures the feelings of the characters in a way that makes the reader empathize with them. If you enjoy reading light romantic novels I would recommend reading this book.

A very angsty enemies to lovers rom com with great chemistry up u til about the 50% mark. These two rushed into a sexual relationship probably too early in the plot development and it then started to fall very flat.

Emmy Harper has made a name for herself as a successful screenplays writer. Romcoms are her bread and butter but after experiencing a tragedy, Emmy wrote a serious movie that won her an Oscar. After some time to heal, she has come back with an amazing romcom script ready to go, but there's one problem - they can't seem to find the perfect actress to play the heroine. Emmy herself would be perfect for the part but she swore she would never act again, not since Grayson West swiftly destroyed her acting career in her teens.

For me this felt like the right book at the right time. I had been struggling with other books for weeks and mentally could not focus, but the second I started this one I was hooked! It drew me in immediately and I binged it in a matter of 2-3 days. Emmy was at times a bit unlikable but over she did win me over - I think she was the right amount of imperfect, in that you were rooting for her but she also felt like a real person you could disagree with. I love an enemies to lovers book and I was glad how early on we find out why Emmy disliked Grayson so much, though I do think it took too long for them to finally yell at each it. It walked the line of entering miscommunication trope, which is what kept this one from being a full 5 stars for me. Grayson was such a great book boyfriend though! And the spice in this one! Whew! Definitely recommend!

4.5 stars rounded up!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC. This story jumps right in and follows a pretty interesting premise. I liked the plot, but had trouble feeling a ton for the characters. This could have been a me problem though.

This was enemies-to-lovers gold with tension, banter, and sweetness galore—plus plenty of steam. I loved the way the characters grew and evolved in their interactions with each other and the introspection that came as a part of that. Really enjoyed — would recommend!

This was my first book from Falon Ballard and I am 100% going to be reading her other ones. I read this book in two days, I couldn't put it down. This book was about two famous people so obviously the plot is going to be fun from the start. It did not disappoint. I am so sad I finished it because I want to read more about Emmy and Grayson!! I love them <3

This story is about Emmy, the daughter of two A-list actors who fell in love. Don't ask me why, but I pictured Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt as her parents LOL. She deals with the loss of her dad and finally gets back into acting after her tragic first attempt, starring in her own rom-com. She was just the most lovable character and I could relate to her so much. She just had this bright energy that translated straight from the pages.

Meet Grayson, hot and lovable action star. He was also part of Emmy's failed first attempt at acting. He steps into the role as the male main character of her rom-com making them CO-STARS... again. Grayson was honestly just a golden retriever. He never failed to make me swoon, even when there was animosity and angst between them. That one scene on set... if you read it, you'll know... BUTTERFLIES everywhere. We love a respectful king.

Anyways, their rough past that led to Emmy's first heartbreak sets the tone for this book. She need to deal with unresolved feelings and work through their past together. They ahave some rough patches, but it is expected with everything that happened. Once they figure it all out, chefs kiss.

The third act saddened me. We all know it'll happen, but I just loved Emmy and Grayson so much I never wanted them to go through heartache. They do, obviously. The third act crisis was so understandable for both of them which made me not dislike any character (sometimes I end up hating one for the rest of the book). I just felt sad for them both :(. Don't worry, we get HEA!!

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I wish it were POV from both main characters, but the way it is written works wonderfully with the entire plot. Emmy and Grayson's story is a MUST read.

I wanted to like this book more than I did. Emmy Harper is a nepo baby who had one disastrously acting credit in her teens and then shifted to screenwriting (Sofia Coppola-inspired, obviously). She's written a rom-com, No Reservations, and reluctantly agrees to star in it when the producers can't find another leading lady. Grayson West was her costar on the disastrous movie and, as a break from his usual himbo repertoire, is a last-minute substitute for the leading man in No Reservations. Cue awkwardness.

I love a sharp, witty, warm rom-com. And there's so much material to be mined from actors on set who fall in love in real life. The best parts of the book are rooted in that; the first begin of thaw is the chemistry that Emmy and Grayson have during filming of a love scene. But ultimately, this plot device hinges on either the reader and writer and characters being in on the joke that the movie-within-a-book is a turkey, or it's got to be genuinely good. And all the looks we get at No Reservations (which is confusingly already the name of a romantic movie) make it seem like a Hallmark Christmas movie. Only it's treated as excellent.
There are shadows of three-dimensionality with Emmy and Grayson, but they're never fleshed out more than that. No spoilers, but the third-act breakup involves a miscommunication no one would have if they just talked to each other, which are the most annoying of tropes. I wanted so much more from the book, and it never went there.

I received an ARC from NetGalley. All opinions are obviously my own.
