I love the Finlay Donovan series and this latest addition was no exception. The humor, chaos and mystery is such a fun read. The hijinks that Finlay and Vero get into are hilarious and unexpected but overall it works. The characters are well developed and the banter they have is great. I am really looking forward to what Elle Cosimano does next.

pre-read: I’m in the quarter into book 3 and wondering if there was going to be a fourth — safe to say that I’m thrilled for this one already

post-read: Finlay! I missed you (and Vero) so much. And I got one of my favourite plots: road trips! And family ones are always thrilling lmao. I enjoyed reading this fun and chaotic plot so much.

Nick, Silvia, the kids, and Finlay’s mom were real ones as well. I love all the characters, even Steven cause he was hilarious (especially the part where he was dealing with the hotel manager and the kids). They all have such a crazy dynamic with Finlay and Vero which made this adventure so much fun.

Finlay and Nick are so hot. She’s me as a writer.

I hope we get more from Finlay Donovan.

Thank you, Netgalley, for the ARC!

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is book four in the Finlay Donovan mystery series by Elle Cosimano and was just as much fun as books one-three. I grabbed this one on audio. Like the others in the series, I found myself practically covering my eyes, wondering how in the heck Finlay and Vero would get out of the crazy situations and I love going along for the ride. The dialogue is so hilarious between the characters–I love them all, even the bad ones! The ending certainly piqued my interest and I look forward to reading more. Give me more hilarious and a bit steamy mysteries and I will happily suspend my disbelief and jump right in.

This was another great add to the Finley Donovan series! I must say, after book three I was a little hesitant to pick up another because I felt like Finley and Vero’s story just kept getting more and more far-fetched. But a change in location and some high stakes intense situations made book four an exciting page turner! Thank you, NetGalley, for the ARC!

3.75 star but I rounded up to 4!

This one was a boost up from the last. I felt like Finlay was finally in her element.

The build up in this series is both serious and so silly. They get out of situations JUST IN TIME. I feel like it is equivalent to watching scooby doo but with a lot more mature topics and of course some cute romance in the mix.

This one picks up right where the last one left off, and as much as I read and re-read to make sure there were no loose ends, I could not find any which is super impressive considering the absolute chaos and messiness Vero and Finlay get into.

I think this one was among my fav in the series because the ending was left for interpretation, while it also opened it up for a new book.

KEEP THEM COMING!

This one was a winner! I love following along in the escapades of Finaly and Vero. The Atlantic City setting of book #4 was fun and there was never a dull moment. I loved how we finally got a glimpse into Vero's life and she was just as much a MC as Finlay. I did get all the side characters/mob participants confused throughout the story, yet I still enjoyed the ride. There were a lot of tense moments balanced by comedic relief. If you love the Finlay Donovan series, this installment won't disappoint! The ending was a bit of a cliffhanger, so I expect we will be getting more of this story!

“But I’m telling you, Finlay, this book is good. This whole series is good. The plots may be a little far-fetched, but these characters are so real! It’s like they just leap off the page!”

I love this series so much!! This book immediately picks up where the last one let off; and as Vero and Finlay attempt to flee town to solve some issues from the previous book, they end up on a road trip to Atlantic City with Finlay's mom, ex-husband, and the two kids in tow. Matters are further complicated when various members of the local police show up, investigating people and events that Finlay may have ties to...

I found aspects of the third book to be a little too far afield for this story; and I wasn't a huge fan of the insular police academy setting. This one really returned to the roots of this series while also using a fresh new setting of Atlantic City. I loved the use of hotels and casinos to drive the plot. It all felt so real, and I would watch the heck out of a limited series of this on TV.

If you have read any parts of this series, you know that it's all really one big plot. This fourth book wraps up that major overarching plot, but leaves room for more things to be explored in later installments if the author wishes. I sincerely hope she keeps writing more books, because I would love to read more of Nick and Finlay's relationship and tie up a few remaining loose ends that have intentionally been left unspooled.

FINLAY DONOVAN ROLLS THE DICE
by ELLE COSIMANO

72 hours not to die
2 sticky toddlers in tow
An ex she may murder.

This fourth instalment in the Finlay Donovan did not disappoint.

This book is a road trip to Atlantic City with :

- [ ] Finlay,
- [ ] her nanny and partner in crime Vero,
- [ ] both toddlers ,
- [ ] Findlay’s mother
- [ ] and her ex Steven.

As the bungle their way through another series of events, it is very humorous.

I enjoyed this, as I have all the other books in this series.

I highly recommend this if want a nice easy read.

Thank you Netgalley and Minotaur books for the arc.

Finlay and Vero at a citizen's police academy can only mean mayhem & we sure get that here. Nick takes a big role in this book which I loved and we get Julian Baker too for a bit of fun. I could not be more intrigued by Mrs. Haggerty, the elderly neighbor. She's definitely a character to watch and I'm looking forward to more of her story. This one ends in a cliffhanger that had me ready to jump into book 4!

FInlay Donovan is continuing her adventures! In this latest installment, Finn, Vero and the gang are traveling to Atlantic City on a "family" roadtrip!

Book 4 literally picks up right where book 3 left off, this series must be read in order or you'll be super confused!

I have to say that I've really enjoyed this series as a whole... that being said, this might be my least favorite book in the series thus far. I think this one just wasn't as funny to me as previous books. I did enjoy this one thought and read it in a day.

However, I did LOVE that Detective Nick had a more active role in book 4. And... that CLIFFHANGER! I am SO looking forward to book 5.

Thank you Elle Cosimano, Minotaur Books and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Finn and Vero are my kind of friends! Their shenanigans keep me guessing who will they find (dead) next. Atlantic City was the perfect setting for this book. Plus, I loved the fact that Finn's exhusband traveled along with them, and his trip wasn't as exciting as Finn's - serves him right! I have already recommended this book to a coworker and look forward to the next installment! (I never liked the neighbor anyway!)

The 4th installment of the FINLAY DONOVAN series, unfortunately, fell short for me. This was definitely my least favorite of the 4 😕. I think maybe I’m just growing tired of the series in general & think it should’ve ended on book 2 or 3?

Despite its action packed narrative, fatigue sets in. The audiobook experience, with an irritating Vero voice 🥴, adds to the disappointment. I physically read the first 3 so maybe that would’ve changed my rating 🤷🏼‍♀️ on this one had I done the same.

Nevertheless, the chemistry between Nick & Finlay 🔥 shines, offering moments of enjoyment amidst the series' fatigue.

It picks up right where book 3 ended. If you're a die hard fan, the adventure & humor are still worth a read! In true FINLAY fashion, it’s full of comical moments, with a witty dialogue, & adventure galore!

This was fun! I always love following Finlay and Vero. I liked that Nick was in this one a little bit more, and I did enjoy the road trip aspect of the book. Unfortunately it did feel very similar to the previous books, just in a different location. I would love to see something totally new and different for the final few books of this series.

I love the Finlay Donovan series, but this one just fell flat for me. It felt like a filler season of your favorite tv show. So much happens in a short amount of time, I don’t know it was just so unbelievable this time around.

This is book 4 in this series. Usually books get stale in a series- but I loved this one! More than 2 and 3- but 1 stays my fave. Another author whose writing I love.

Funny and zany- this is like reading “The Other Guys” or #The Heat.” 2 of my favorite funny, unrealistic and yet captivating mystery movies. Finlay and Vero are some of my favorite characters. Their adventures are always fun to read. Definitely recommend!

Finlay and Vero are back to their shenanigans and this time their adventure is taking them to Atlantic City in hopes of finding Vero's childhood best friend to lover who has been kidnapped.

I really enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I felt like the last book was a lot of just running in circles with the same ol story, same ol bad guys and getting no answers. I was worried that this is what #4 would look like and I was pleasantly surprised!

Of course it had some of the main points with Finlay and Vero getting tangled up with the bad guys, messing up horribly, and having to get out of the most outlandish situations, but what I thoroughly enjoyed with this one was the ending. Questions got answered and loose ends were tied up. It really felt like the true ending I have been hoping for with this story.

Now, don't get me wrong! Wanting loose ends tied up doesn't mean I won't be following and reading along in the future installments -- trust me, I will! I am just excited that it seems like this entanglement has been solved, and I look forward to the next!

Thank you to Minotaur Books and Macmillan Audio for the copies to review!

This latest installment in the Finlay series, narrated once again by the fabulous Angela Dawe, was super fun and a delight to read as always. I loved that this took place in Atlantic City for a weekend getaway for the girls. Finlay was juggling both a new and old relationship in more ways than one here, and Vero did not disappoint as her trusted sidekick. It does help to read these in order, but honestly, why would you not? This series is the best, the audio is great, and I highly recommend it.

The setting was fun as were the usual characters in this series. However I was hoping that the series would be wrapped up as this one did finish some of Finlay’s problems, now it seems like there is another book coming. Not sure I will continue to read this series as I was getting bored with a few of the characters. Plus a lot of it is so far fetched. 3.5 stars

As with all Finlay titles, I really enjoyed the characters in this and the zaniness was a lot of fun! I think this one might be my least favorite in this series and I was surprised it’s not the last with how it all wrapped up. I found the plot a little too reliant on previous stories and a bit too complicated, but I did like the change of setting.

I’m interested to see what Elle writes next!

I don’t know how, but she’s done it again. I cannot wait to see what Finlay does next and I need more of Finn and Detective Nick. This is one of those series I always recommend to friends who are looking for something fun to binge, or who are getting back into reading after a slump. Elle never disappoints! I’m anxiously awaiting the next installment!
