FInlay Donovan is continuing her adventures! In this latest installment, Finn, Vero and the gang are traveling to Atlantic City on a "family" roadtrip!

Book 4 literally picks up right where book 3 left off, this series must be read in order or you'll be super confused!

I have to say that I've really enjoyed this series as a whole... that being said, this might be my least favorite book in the series thus far. I think this one just wasn't as funny to me as previous books. I did enjoy this one thought and read it in a day.

However, I did LOVE that Detective Nick had a more active role in book 4. And... that CLIFFHANGER! I am SO looking forward to book 5.

Thank you Elle Cosimano, Minotaur Books and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Finn and Vero are my kind of friends! Their shenanigans keep me guessing who will they find (dead) next. Atlantic City was the perfect setting for this book. Plus, I loved the fact that Finn's exhusband traveled along with them, and his trip wasn't as exciting as Finn's - serves him right! I have already recommended this book to a coworker and look forward to the next installment! (I never liked the neighbor anyway!)

The 4th installment of the FINLAY DONOVAN series, unfortunately, fell short for me. This was definitely my least favorite of the 4 😕. I think maybe I’m just growing tired of the series in general & think it should’ve ended on book 2 or 3?

Despite its action packed narrative, fatigue sets in. The audiobook experience, with an irritating Vero voice 🥴, adds to the disappointment. I physically read the first 3 so maybe that would’ve changed my rating 🤷🏼‍♀️ on this one had I done the same.

Nevertheless, the chemistry between Nick & Finlay 🔥 shines, offering moments of enjoyment amidst the series' fatigue.

It picks up right where book 3 ended. If you're a die hard fan, the adventure & humor are still worth a read! In true FINLAY fashion, it’s full of comical moments, with a witty dialogue, & adventure galore!

This was fun! I always love following Finlay and Vero. I liked that Nick was in this one a little bit more, and I did enjoy the road trip aspect of the book. Unfortunately it did feel very similar to the previous books, just in a different location. I would love to see something totally new and different for the final few books of this series.

I love the Finlay Donovan series, but this one just fell flat for me. It felt like a filler season of your favorite tv show. So much happens in a short amount of time, I don’t know it was just so unbelievable this time around.

This is book 4 in this series. Usually books get stale in a series- but I loved this one! More than 2 and 3- but 1 stays my fave. Another author whose writing I love.

Funny and zany- this is like reading “The Other Guys” or #The Heat.” 2 of my favorite funny, unrealistic and yet captivating mystery movies. Finlay and Vero are some of my favorite characters. Their adventures are always fun to read. Definitely recommend!

Finlay and Vero are back to their shenanigans and this time their adventure is taking them to Atlantic City in hopes of finding Vero's childhood best friend to lover who has been kidnapped.

I really enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I felt like the last book was a lot of just running in circles with the same ol story, same ol bad guys and getting no answers. I was worried that this is what #4 would look like and I was pleasantly surprised!

Of course it had some of the main points with Finlay and Vero getting tangled up with the bad guys, messing up horribly, and having to get out of the most outlandish situations, but what I thoroughly enjoyed with this one was the ending. Questions got answered and loose ends were tied up. It really felt like the true ending I have been hoping for with this story.

Now, don't get me wrong! Wanting loose ends tied up doesn't mean I won't be following and reading along in the future installments -- trust me, I will! I am just excited that it seems like this entanglement has been solved, and I look forward to the next!

Thank you to Minotaur Books and Macmillan Audio for the copies to review!

This latest installment in the Finlay series, narrated once again by the fabulous Angela Dawe, was super fun and a delight to read as always. I loved that this took place in Atlantic City for a weekend getaway for the girls. Finlay was juggling both a new and old relationship in more ways than one here, and Vero did not disappoint as her trusted sidekick. It does help to read these in order, but honestly, why would you not? This series is the best, the audio is great, and I highly recommend it.

The setting was fun as were the usual characters in this series. However I was hoping that the series would be wrapped up as this one did finish some of Finlay’s problems, now it seems like there is another book coming. Not sure I will continue to read this series as I was getting bored with a few of the characters. Plus a lot of it is so far fetched. 3.5 stars

As with all Finlay titles, I really enjoyed the characters in this and the zaniness was a lot of fun! I think this one might be my least favorite in this series and I was surprised it’s not the last with how it all wrapped up. I found the plot a little too reliant on previous stories and a bit too complicated, but I did like the change of setting.

I’m interested to see what Elle writes next!

I don’t know how, but she’s done it again. I cannot wait to see what Finlay does next and I need more of Finn and Detective Nick. This is one of those series I always recommend to friends who are looking for something fun to binge, or who are getting back into reading after a slump. Elle never disappoints! I’m anxiously awaiting the next installment!

In this fourth installment, Cosimano expertly "ties up" the loose ends from the previous books. In this novel, the reader follows Finlay to Atlantic City to retrieve Javi. The shenanigans definitely live up to what readers are used to, however, things are complicated as this turns into a family trip. There is, of course, sexual tension as Steven and Nick vie for Finlay’s attention, but in true Finlay Donovan style, there are numerous close calls, and lots of sleuthing! I love this series, and this fourth novel reignites my appreciation for the series.

Finlay Donovan is back and she is up to her old shenanigans.
Honestly, after the thrid book was a bit of a let down, I wasn't planning to read the fourth book. BUT I am so glad I did. This one was fun. It had the whole cast of characters heading to Atlantic City for more of this story to play out.
I always describe this series as a cozy mystery. Although this is filled with murders, the charm of the characters really makes it feel harmless. There is little to no suspense, just a story being told.
I adore Finlay and her budding romance with Nick...but I see some major trouble for them if she keeps up the way she is. I know one thing for sure, I am dying to find out how it all plays out.
I alternated between the audio book and the ecopy of this one. The audiobook is so fun and brings the story to life!

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice has been one of the better Finlay books I've read since the first one. I loved the first book in the series, but since then, the story is just so drawn out and I've become less and less interested. Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice did feel a bit more fast-paced—maybe it's because Nick and Finlay finally got together in the last book so there isn't that "will they-won't they-they definitely will" energy about them. I felt like this book wrapped up the story really nicely, though it sounds like there might be another one coming. However, I hate to say it, I am happy with this ending, so I think I'm saying goodbye to Finlay and the crew.

As always, this book was so fun! Just when I think the story can’t go on, it does and the mystery of how Finlay and crew get out of their jams continues. According to the author’s website, there will be books 5, 6 & 7 - and I’m all in!

I've seen many people criticize this series as being unrealistic, and while I do agree, that's kind of the point. I don't pick up a Finlay Donovan book expecting a hyper-realistic policie procedural. I read this series to have fun and suspend my disbelief for a bit. That antics that Finlay and Vero got into were as wild as ever. I loved seeing Finlay's relationship with Nick grow deeper while she was naviagating the newest mystery. I also really enjoyed seeing Cam's character development. He really is just a naive kid, doing what he can to survive. Finlay and Joey are both good role models for him. I loved any and all scenes including Kevin Bacon.

My main gripe with this series is that it seems to be drawing out longer than necessary. Things could have easily wrapped up nicely to let everyone have their happily (ish) ever after, but the epilogue through another wrench in the mix. I am looking forward to seeing what's going on with Mrs. Haggerty, but I'm afraid that too many more books in the series will ruin the overall story.

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is Finlay and Vero's fourth adventure. I loved the first three books, but this fourth book slightly lost my interest. The story's continuation was good, but it didn't grab my attention like the previous books. This book was a four-star read for me, and the others were all five-star reads.

I have listened to all the audiobooks, and they are well-narrated. Thank you, Macmillan Audio, for this ALC.

I need to read the other books in this series before I can get to this book. I didn’t realize that at the time of request.

DNF at 33% This isn’t a full statement on the book but rather my disposition on reading at the moment. I’m in a terrible reading slump and just cannot get into this book. I hope I can come back to it when I get out of this slump, I enjoyed the previous books in the series.

This book picks up right where the third book left off, literally!

The whole gang of Finlay, Vero, Finlay’s mom, the kids, and Steven the despised ex-husband, all head to Atlantic City for an alleged girls’ trip, which is a cover story for F&V trying to recover a certain someone who was kidnapped. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Finlay Donovan story without a band of overly concerned hometown cops joining in on the fun.

I really enjoyed reading this one, but there were times when I thought some of the antics were a bit over the top and wildly unbelievable. But it’s all in good fun, even if it felt a bit formulaic.

This book could theoretically be read as a standalone, but I wouldn’t advise it. Even having read all of the previous books, I was a little confused with who was who with some of the side characters.

Thank you @minotaur_books for sending me a @Netgalley widget to read an e-ARC of this book in exchange for my review.
