This is the fourth installment of the Finlay Donovan series, and it continues where the third novel left off. In this installment, Finlay and her nanny/fellow sleuth Vero travel to Atlantic City to strike a deal with Marco, a violent loan shark, to recover the stolen Aston Martin and save Javi from kidnappers. When Finlay's ex-husband, their two children, Finlay's mother and sister, Nick, and two other police officers join in, the scenario becomes tedious.
Like all the previous books in this series, you have to suspend your disbelief and just go along for the ride.
Thank you so very much to Minotaur Books and NetGalley, for providing me with an ARC to read and review.

Finlay Donovan is back and I’m so happy! After feeling lukewarm about the previous book, Rolls the Dice was just what I was looking for. It was zany and fun and I laughed. Good mystery as well! Can’t wait to see where Cosimano takes us next with this group!

Unfortunately, I still stand strong that this series should have ended in the first 3 books and I only suuuuper loved the first one . I’ve lost entertainment more and more as the series has gone on due to the story just becoming more and more far fetched and unrealistic . So I will be DNF’ing this one sadly and won’t be continuing the series.

For as many books as there have been in this series, I’m still just consumed by Finlay and Vero’s antics. This was so fun!

The fourth in the series, Finlay is full of fun. I was a big fan of the first two in the Finlay Donovan series. I was less impressed with the third and even less impressed with Rolls the Dice,

This entire series has been so entertaining and I have loved the writing style throughout them all! This was such a fun and easy read. I felt this had a lot of unpredictable turns! Would recommend to my friends!

It's like visiting with old friends. I just adore this series. It's always a trip catching up with Finlay and Vero. Their latest adventure does not disappoint. All of the usual high-jinks ensue. Funny and suspenseful with a bit of rom-com added to the mix. Just a delight!

Thanks to NetGalley and Minotaur publishing for the advanced copy! Read it now!

I don't know if Elle Cosimano has another Finlay up her sleeve (I'm sure she does), but this would be a nice ending to the series if not. Still maintains the funny, quirky characters and plot lines, while being interesting and doesn't feel like a 'filler' book that so many series tend to get themselves into. Four stars!

I’m going to start by saying I LOVED the first in the Finlay Donovan series. I really enjoyed the second and I also liked the third (just not as much as the first 2). The novella about Vero’s story was cute and I enjoyed it!

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is the fourth in this series and I have to say that it definitely missed the mark for me. I was SO excited for it and it was fun at the beginning to be back with Finlay and Vero! It definitely felt repetitive to me and it felt like it was dragging on in most areas. I’m ok if a book feels like it’s dragging on for a bit here and there, but for whole chunks of the book? Idk, it just fell flat for me.

I think this series would have been amazing with 2 books and the novella!

Thank you to St. Martins Press and Minotaur Books for my copy of this one!

My favorite besties are back and they’re in over their heads once again. This time the girls are on the road to Atlantic City under the guise of a girls’ weekend. What they’re actually doing is scheming to rescue Vero’s crush Javi who’s been kidnapped and held for ransom. In Finlay’s fashion nothing goes as planned. I adore this cozy mystery series. The characters are so down-to-earth, relatable, lovable, and funny. I’m hoping the way this book ended that there’s going to be at least one more book. Thanks to Netgalley for the gifted copy.

Thank you to St. Marten's Press and Minotaur for letting me read Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice early. This one is out now!

I really love this Finlay Donovan series. The books are easy to get lost into and I've grown quite fond of the characters. I love getting more of Vero's backstory in this one and if you aren't a big fan of Vero, this installment will probably change your mind. The plot was a little repetitive, but I also found it cozy and it was an easy escape. I definitely recommend adding this one to your TBR.

Hear me out I LOVE the Finlay Donovan books so I was ecstatic to get this arc, but this one was not it for me. I really blame that I read the ebook instead of the audiobook. The narrator is SO good and fits the characters so well that my focus was lost in the ebook, and it took me ages to finish it. I'll try to reread it in a few months with the audiobook so my star rating may change, but right now 3 stars. I hate Steven, and he was in it too much for me.

Finlay and Vero are back at it attempting to get out if the trouble they managed to get into😅 This book was just as fun as the rest and maybe a little more fast paced!

Finlay and Vero decide to go on a “girl’s weekend” to Atlantic City to rescue Vero’s friend who has been kidnapped…and when Finlay’s mom, ex-husband, and children end up tagging along, things get trickier, stickier, and funnier!

You do need to read these books in order as the plot continues from one to the next - but if you enjoy hilarious cozy mysteries, I have a feeling you’d fly through this series!

Elle Cosimano does it again. If you enjoy a quirky mystery, look no further. I first discovered this author in the YA section, having jumped to her Finlay Donovan mysteries has been a joy I have not regretted. I know that the entire story can be on the incredulous side, the characters and story more than make up for it. I have enjoyed the wrong place, wrong time Finlay Donovan. I will be waiting anxiously for the next installment.

This book was great, it felt fresh and not like anything else I've read lately. It kept me intrigued all the way through, I didn't want to put it down.

Finlay and Vero do it again!! I can't believe this is the fourth book in this hilarious and amazing Saga! And the end.... Gahhhh!!!! does this means we will have a Finlay Donovan number 5????!!!!!

So far, this has to be my favorite book from the saga. This book started with a bang and ended with another one. I love the chemistry between the two main characters and the chance of knowing more about Finlay's mom, Steven, Georgia and other secondary characters.

Thank you to NetGalley, Elle Cosimano, and Minotaur Books for the advanced ebook of Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice.

I am a tried and true Finaly Donovan (and Elle Cosimano) fan! I can't get enough. All of the Finlay Donovan books are such a great combination of humor, crazy situations, bad choices, loyalty, friendship, and pure entertainment. I'm always thinking "no Finlay, don't do that!" but still along for the crazy ride.

Finlay and her nanny / partner-in-crime Vero need a cover story to get to Atlantic City and negotiate with a loan shark, save Vero's longtime crush Javi, and track down their stolen car. They decide on a girls weekend, but it quickly becomes so much more than that with the kids, mom, ex-husband, and a whole group of people that just get in the way.

This book had all those things I love about this series - the unpredictability, the crazy situations, the solutions they come up with to get out of said crazy situations, and things getting worse before they get better. I wouldn't say this was my favorite book in the series, but it was still a fun read that I would recommend! (I think maybe I just didn't love the Atlantic CIty vibes? And as a mom I kept getting stressed out about the kids. :))

I gave book #1 and book #3 five stars, with book #2 and now book #4 four stars. This is such a beloved series to me and I was so happy to be a part of Finlay's chaotic world once again. I highly recommend all the books in the series and would definitely read them in order.

This is the latest entry in the Finlay Donovan series. It’s fast paced with some humorous scenes. Finlay is divorced from her jerky husband Steven, but they have two children so they’re still connected. She has a friend/nanny named Vero who helps her with the kids and more. The two of them have “accidentally” gotten mixed up in several crimes, they’re trouble magnets, and their involvement guarantees that situations will escalate and spiral out of control.

Their adventures have gotten them involved with some very dangerous people. In this book, Vero’s boyfriend Javi has been kidnapped and they go to Atlantic City to find him. What starts as a girl’s trip now includes Finlay’s kids, her ex, and her mom, with her boyfriend coming later.

I enjoyed this book, it requires you to suspend belief and go along for the exciting ride, 4.5 stars.

Thanks to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley, I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Thank you Macmillan audio for the audiobook and extra goodies and to Minotaur books for the digital ARC. Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is the fourth book in the series and these books must be read in order. First off, the audiobook is the way to go. Angela Dawe has been consistently great at narrating this series and because this is a fast-paced story, I think she does a great job of keeping up with the energy of the book. In this book, Finlay and Vero travel to Atlantic City to find Javi. Of course to make things a little chaotic, we also get Finlay's ex-husband, both kids, her mom, and some surprise guests along the way. As soon as they arrive in Atlantic City, the craziness begins and it doesn't stop until somehow everything works out without her family finding out the truth about just exactly what Finlay and Vero get themselves into. There are a lot of characters in this story! Personally, I struggled a little with this book, but I think it may have just been the mood I was in. The story is outrageous and the characters are extreme, and the book just started to feel silly. I love a good laugh and the humor from book 1 is what pulled me into the series, but this one felt over the top with the shenanigans and coincidences. If you're wanting a book that will make you laugh though, I recommend trying out the audiobook. It was a fun light read, with a little romance and multiple mysteries.

Thank you to NetGalley, Elle Cosimano, SMP & Minotaur for the digital ARC of Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice in exchange for an honest review.

I was sold on the Finlay Donovan series from Book #1, so it was a no-brainer that I needed to review this one! I even treated myself and re-listened to the audiobooks of the first three prior to starting #4 and was reminded of just how much I love this series! I am so excited that we are getting at least 3 more!

In this installment, Finlay, Vero & the whole crew travel to (or end up in) Atlantic City. Finlay & Vero are on a mission to save Javi, get the Aston Martin back & get rid of Vero's gambling debt. If the reader is on Book 4, they know what kind of chaos & antics follow Finlay & Vero and this books was just as fun & hilarious as the previous three!

Elle returned with her unmatched humor & gave us everything we were hoping for. We got to have a storyline more focused on Vero's issue, but still primarily involved Finlay. We got to know Finlay's mother a bit more, we learned more of Vero & Javi's backstory, and, of course, the heat turned up some more with Finlay & Nick!!! Eeeeeekkkkkkk!!!

My favorite part of the book was early on when traveling to Atlantic City & Finlay was working on her next book with a sex scene & Steven mentioned that those sex scenes were so unrealistic & that no guy can make love to a woman standing against a wall or while she has her legs wrapped around his waist while he's standing. And then Finlay gives him a look that shuts him up. I can just visualize that look so perfectly in my head! Steven shut his mouth real quick! I mean, HELLO!!!! Have you MET Detective Nick??

Needless to say, I absolutely loved this one & can't wait for the next ones!

***Please forgive me with any spelling errors with Javi or Steven's names. I have listened to the audiobooks since Book 1 & have never actually seen them spelled out, so I apologize if they're spelled incorrectly.***
