Finlay and Vero are two of my favorite main characters ever! These books are hilariously unhinged and unpredictable. I love following along and all the laughs, craziness, and suspense that comes along the way. Finlay Donovan continues to get herself stuck in the most interesting situations and she low key gives me anxiety as I sit and watch her try to get out of them. I cannot believe some of the stuff that happens in this book, but they make for great laughs and even better conversations with friends who are also caught up in this amazing series. I really loved the Atlantic City setting of this book- it made for a great addition to the story as a whole. I definitely enjoyed this book more than the 3rd one and I cannot wait to see what comes next!
Thank you to @netgalley and @minotaur_books for the digital ARC of this book (which I know I read too late, but still loved it all the same and am eternally grateful to have had access to it ahead of the pub date!!)
4.5/5 stars!

I was absolutely hooked on this one! As always, Finlay Donovan kept me fully entertained the whole way through. As the fourth book in the series, I didn’t know what more Finlay and Vero could possibly get up to, but they sure did shock me yet again. This book really got me out of the reading slump I’ve been in all year and I couldn’t put it down! Yes, there were some silly parts and the book is definitely not realistic in the slightest, but I did not expect it to be. If you don’t mind suspension of disbelief, you’ll love this one. It’s a mafia thriller with lots of comedy thrown in. I loved it!

Finlay and Vero’s crazy shenanigans continue in the fourth installment of Cosimano’s Finlay Donovan series. This story was filled with laugh out loud, along with, several shaking your head moments. I was entertained as Finlay and her partner in crime travel to Vegas for an adventure filled road trip. I had to suspend belief at times but I felt this book had a nice blend of mystery and romance to keep me invested.

I received an advanced electronic copy from publisher Minotaur Books and Netgalley. Thank you for the opportunity to preview this book.

I have been a fan of this series from the beginning. I have read all of the books in the series as they came out and have enjoyed the ride with Finlay Donovan and her crew!

Finlay and Vero, our favorite reluctant detective duo, take a road trip to Atlantic City to save Vero's high school sweetheart, Javi. The trip gets hijacked by Finlay's whole family, including her ex husband, her kids, her mom and the her hot new detective love interest. Dead bodies, the Russian mob, strip joints, and various other antics make this installment a fun ride. Is this series realistic? Not necessarily. Is it a fun ride? Absolutely!

Thank you to the author, St. Martin's Press, and Netgalley for the ARC of this title in exchange fr my honest review.

I don’t know what it is, but this mystery series will always be a comfort for me ☺️ Let’s review Finlay book 4!!! 🙌

MY THOUGHTS:
Finlay Donovan is a character that truly never dulls. 💖 Her chaos mixed with Vero’s humor always makes for an entertaining read! Their banter is one of my FAVORITE things about this entire series. 😂 Book 4 was a delightful lil read that can be consumed quickly due to its short length (win!) 👏 I love the how over-the-top and crazy these stories are (this one was no exception 😂)— you definitely have to be in the mood for all things unbelievable to fully enjoy them!

RATING EXPLAINED:
This mystery series is so fun & bubbly! With book 4, I did feel like it was BUSY… a lot was going on! 🤔 I started with the physical copy and got 100ish pages in. Then I remembered how much the narrator, Angela Dawe, brings all the characters to life, so I switched to the audiobook!! 🎧 These audiobooks hit SO GOOD, so that switch kept my attention better! I didn’t feel as invested into this one as books 1-3. It’s my least favorite in the series 🤷‍♀️ All that being said, you’ll still catch me reading book 5 if/when it comes out! 🤓

The fourth installment of the Finlay Donovan series takes Finlay, her nanny/bestie/literal partner in crime Vero, and Finlay’s ENTIRE family on a vacation to Atlantic City. If you are familiar with the other books in this series you can expect the same chaos, humor, and mystery (with a sprinkle of murder) that we have grown to love from the Finlay books. If you aren’t familiar with the series, what are you waiting for? For those of you picking up this latest installment, be aware, you will not want to put it down! I was very thankful to have an audiobook courtesy of Macmillan Audio. Angela Dawe’s narration really brought the story to life and allowed me to stay immersed in the story without stopping.
I was especially excited to binge read this over the weekend before going to an event with Elle Cosimano. I loved hearing her talk about the book, the process, and more about this genre-bending series. It was such a fun event hosted by @oldtownbooks - and special shout out to my favorite book event buddy @rachelwritesromance for all the fun.

Thanks to St Martin’s Press, Macmillan Audio, and NetGalley for the advance copy.

Finlay is out here doing the most and I love every bit of it. This is another wonderful addition to the series and I wait wondering what she will be up to next.

Oh Finlay. I just love this series! I have never been let down by it. I am guaranteed laughter, head shaking antics, and a page turning read every single time. I really hope this series never ends. Finlay and Vero are a duo I want to be friends with in real life, even though I would most definitely wind up finding a dead body at some point and have to help them move it and pin it on someone else in some hilarious way. Only Vero and Finlay could make murder funny.

If you haven't read this series yet, I highly recommend it. It's one of my favorites!

I just love all of my Finlay Donovan Books! They are a good time from start to finish. They are not to be taken very seriously so they won’t be for you if you have trouble suspending reality in order to immerse yourself in Elle Cosimano’s genius imagination. Bring on the next one Elle — I know it’s coming!!!

This was my favorite of the Finaly Donovan series. I liked that there was some closure to the Feliks Zhirov case because it seemed to be dragging on a little too long. I also think a new setting for the storyline and new characters made this book much more interesting; especially because the last 2 books were a bit dull, in my opinion.

Overall, 3.5 stars.

Another chaotic, fun and funny books about Finlay and her shenanigans and situations she finds herself in.

I enjoy Finlay and Vero’s friendship (and chaos). I love this series, and it’s all definitely fictional, but this fourth book does seem quite far fetched. If you enjoy a light, humorous mystery, then this book is for you!

Finlay Donovan series is one of my favorite ones and I seem to wait for it every year.

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is the perfect in line of installments in the series which needs to be read in order for it all to make sense. It was funny, so intriguing and made me want to keep turning pages till the very end. I was here for all Finlay and Vero's camaraderie and the twists and turns. Just a fun read all in all.

it was amazing

Are these books utterly ridiculous? Yes. Highly unbelievable? Absolutely. But what they lack in reality, they make up for in character. If you love these characters, you'll likely love the series, no matter what shenanigans happen.

What I love best about this series are the characters and their relationships. The friendships feel real and expertly crafted. I find that I care deeply about them and want nothing but the best for them.

Several readers complain that Stephan gets too much page time, but for me, it is one of the most realistic parts of the book. Separation/divorce can be messy. It is hard. Finlay can't just drop her kids off and go on an adventure. So, it makes sense that they have to come along. Also, it adds to the story, creating additional obstacles for Finlay and the gang to deal with while being chased by the mob. One of my favorite movies growing up was Adventures in Babysitting, and this series reminds me of that.

I don't want to say much about Rolls the Dice since it is the 4th in a series, but I enjoyed this. I think readers who had issues with "Jumps the Gun" will enjoy this installment a lot more. I am glad it moved locations, and a place like Atlantic City is perfect for this series. I would love to see what would happen if Cosimano sent them on a European vacation where they have to figure out another murder mystery where hilarity ensues.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

In the fourth series installment, we see Finlay and Vero right where we left off--recovering from escaping a fire at the police academy. But there's no time to relax, as the two immediately hit the road on a "girls trip" to recover a stolen car and Vero's kidnapped crush. But it wouldn't be a road trip without Finaly's ex, Steven, the kids, and Finlay's mom all tagging along, too. And when her boyfriend Nick, her sister, and her sister's girlfriend all show up, it becomes a true family affair! But can Finlay and Vero rescue Javi, get a mobster off their backs, and make sure a dirty cop gets what's coming to him without ending up in jail themselves?

Each book in this series gets more outlandish, but I don't hate it. With major Weekend at Bernie's vibes and laugh-out-loud moments, it's hard not to embrace the crazy. Throw in a complicated web that's a bit more puzzle than mystery, and it's a fun buddy romp through Atlantic City. I really appreciated that this book really wrapped up a lot of loose ends and didn't torture us with a cliffhanger, but still gave us something to look forward to in book number five. I'm sure I'll be reading this series for as long as it continues!

Thanks to Minotaur for my ARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

5 stars - 10/10

I am struggling on how to rate this one.

I like Finlay.
I love Vero.

But ..

this series has gotten SO over the top and unbelievable. I found myself skimming a lot and rolling my eyes a lot. :(

Finlay does it again! While I was somewhat disappointed in the last book, I think this one felt closer to the first in the series. It was fun adding in the aspect of all of the hijinks happening in a new city all while Finlay’s mom is along for the ride. Excited to see where the next book takes us!

Thank you NetGalley, Minotaur_books, and Elle Cosimano for a copy in exchange for my honest feedback.

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is the 4th book in the Finlay Donovan series. Finlay and Vero are back in action and heading to Atlantic City for a girls weekend in order to find Vero's crush. However, Finlay's ex-husband Steven, mother, and kids quickly join the trip. Vero and Finlay have to work around them joining the trip and figure it out when Finlay's boyfriend, sister, and other police officers from their department also join them in Atlantic City. Finlay and Vero continue to get themselves in sticky situations and have to figure out how to get themselves out without anyone else knowing what they are actually doing.

This book is a lot of chaos, but oh so much fun to read. I love reading this series and cannot wait until the next Finlay book.

Like the other 4 books in the series, this book was a lot of fun to read. The crazy situations and humor was great. I also loved the romance between Javi and Vero that was explored more. The suspense part was exciting but not really scary or anything. I’m definitely excited for the next book as Finley and Nick and Javi and Vero explore their relationships more. This book does end on a cliffhanger so I’m definitely ready for the next book.

As the fourth book in the Finlay Donovan series, this book had a tough task to achieve. But I loved this one more than two and three. It's a crazy short romp through the dingy glitz of Atlantic City, and the change of scene was just what these characters needed! The banter between Finlay and Vera was awesome. The growth of their friendship keeps me coming back for more. I love the love triangle, of course, and the spicy scenes are a nice touch! I'm on board for a bunch more installments of Finlay Donovan adventures!
