This was my favorite of the Finaly Donovan series. I liked that there was some closure to the Feliks Zhirov case because it seemed to be dragging on a little too long. I also think a new setting for the storyline and new characters made this book much more interesting; especially because the last 2 books were a bit dull, in my opinion.

Overall, 3.5 stars.

Another chaotic, fun and funny books about Finlay and her shenanigans and situations she finds herself in.

I enjoy Finlay and Vero’s friendship (and chaos). I love this series, and it’s all definitely fictional, but this fourth book does seem quite far fetched. If you enjoy a light, humorous mystery, then this book is for you!

Finlay Donovan series is one of my favorite ones and I seem to wait for it every year.

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is the perfect in line of installments in the series which needs to be read in order for it all to make sense. It was funny, so intriguing and made me want to keep turning pages till the very end. I was here for all Finlay and Vero's camaraderie and the twists and turns. Just a fun read all in all.

it was amazing

Are these books utterly ridiculous? Yes. Highly unbelievable? Absolutely. But what they lack in reality, they make up for in character. If you love these characters, you'll likely love the series, no matter what shenanigans happen.

What I love best about this series are the characters and their relationships. The friendships feel real and expertly crafted. I find that I care deeply about them and want nothing but the best for them.

Several readers complain that Stephan gets too much page time, but for me, it is one of the most realistic parts of the book. Separation/divorce can be messy. It is hard. Finlay can't just drop her kids off and go on an adventure. So, it makes sense that they have to come along. Also, it adds to the story, creating additional obstacles for Finlay and the gang to deal with while being chased by the mob. One of my favorite movies growing up was Adventures in Babysitting, and this series reminds me of that.

I don't want to say much about Rolls the Dice since it is the 4th in a series, but I enjoyed this. I think readers who had issues with "Jumps the Gun" will enjoy this installment a lot more. I am glad it moved locations, and a place like Atlantic City is perfect for this series. I would love to see what would happen if Cosimano sent them on a European vacation where they have to figure out another murder mystery where hilarity ensues.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

In the fourth series installment, we see Finlay and Vero right where we left off--recovering from escaping a fire at the police academy. But there's no time to relax, as the two immediately hit the road on a "girls trip" to recover a stolen car and Vero's kidnapped crush. But it wouldn't be a road trip without Finaly's ex, Steven, the kids, and Finlay's mom all tagging along, too. And when her boyfriend Nick, her sister, and her sister's girlfriend all show up, it becomes a true family affair! But can Finlay and Vero rescue Javi, get a mobster off their backs, and make sure a dirty cop gets what's coming to him without ending up in jail themselves?

Each book in this series gets more outlandish, but I don't hate it. With major Weekend at Bernie's vibes and laugh-out-loud moments, it's hard not to embrace the crazy. Throw in a complicated web that's a bit more puzzle than mystery, and it's a fun buddy romp through Atlantic City. I really appreciated that this book really wrapped up a lot of loose ends and didn't torture us with a cliffhanger, but still gave us something to look forward to in book number five. I'm sure I'll be reading this series for as long as it continues!

Thanks to Minotaur for my ARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

5 stars - 10/10

I am struggling on how to rate this one.

I like Finlay.
I love Vero.

But ..

this series has gotten SO over the top and unbelievable. I found myself skimming a lot and rolling my eyes a lot. :(

3.75 ⭐️

Finlay does it again! While I was somewhat disappointed in the last book, I think this one felt closer to the first in the series. It was fun adding in the aspect of all of the hijinks happening in a new city all while Finlay’s mom is along for the ride. Excited to see where the next book takes us!

Thank you NetGalley, Minotaur_books, and Elle Cosimano for a copy in exchange for my honest feedback.

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is the 4th book in the Finlay Donovan series. Finlay and Vero are back in action and heading to Atlantic City for a girls weekend in order to find Vero's crush. However, Finlay's ex-husband Steven, mother, and kids quickly join the trip. Vero and Finlay have to work around them joining the trip and figure it out when Finlay's boyfriend, sister, and other police officers from their department also join them in Atlantic City. Finlay and Vero continue to get themselves in sticky situations and have to figure out how to get themselves out without anyone else knowing what they are actually doing.

This book is a lot of chaos, but oh so much fun to read. I love reading this series and cannot wait until the next Finlay book.

Like the other 4 books in the series, this book was a lot of fun to read. The crazy situations and humor was great. I also loved the romance between Javi and Vero that was explored more. The suspense part was exciting but not really scary or anything. I’m definitely excited for the next book as Finley and Nick and Javi and Vero explore their relationships more. This book does end on a cliffhanger so I’m definitely ready for the next book.

As the fourth book in the Finlay Donovan series, this book had a tough task to achieve. But I loved this one more than two and three. It's a crazy short romp through the dingy glitz of Atlantic City, and the change of scene was just what these characters needed! The banter between Finlay and Vera was awesome. The growth of their friendship keeps me coming back for more. I love the love triangle, of course, and the spicy scenes are a nice touch! I'm on board for a bunch more installments of Finlay Donovan adventures!

When I tell you I was SCREAMING at Finlay and Vero this whole book…this was a wild ride! Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is the fourth instalment in a series about an author and her nanny who accidentally get wrapped up in murder, mayhem, and mob business. Finlay and Vero plan a girls weekend to Atlantic City as a cover to save a kidnapped man, track down their stolen car, and get a loan shark off Vero’s back. An entire cast of characters end up tagging along, including Finlay’s hot cop boyfriend, who doesn’t know her secrets. Shenanigans ensue! The ending of this book totally clinched it for, and sets up the next book perfectly. I was totally locked in for all of the misadventures and close calls, dying to know what the girls get up to next. Can’t wait for Finlay #5! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a free ecopy of this novel for review.

Okay, so after finishing Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun, I wasn't sure if I really wanted to continue this series. It is the third book, and I thought it was the weakest addition to the series. However, after finishing Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice, there is no way I can stop here. This was my absolute favourite so far.

Now I wasn't expecting to read the entire book tonight. I thought I would just start it - but I could not put it down. I could not figure out a spot that I would be able to stop reading without me wanting to find out what happens next. The shenanigans that Finlay and Vero (and even Finlay's mom) get caught up in are laugh out loud funny, and even more ridiculous than previous books.

I really enjoy Elle Cosimano's writing - the way the story unfolds and the way the characters act are just so fun. Also, the ending was so unexpected, but perfect for making me want to pick up the next book whenever it comes out!

This is a great continuation to the Finlay Donovan stories. This novel was just as thrilling and complex as the others in the series, a great, consistent story. There weren't any plot holes I found myself fixated on, just good, consistent drama.
Finlay Donovan has to be the absolute luckiest character there has ever been. She is able to talk herself out of situations, no matter how complicated or concerning. Finlay is yet again a funny charming character that you can't help to love and root for. No matter how she messes up, you'll always be rooting for her and Vero's success.
I took off a star for the romance with Nick, I just don’t see a connection on any level other than physical between the two. Finlay is ALWAYS lying to him, I’m not sure how they can love each other with the minimal truthful interactions between the two.
If I'm being honest, the fact that this is the 5th book in the series is confusing to me, the events of the past books begin to blur, but I think Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice will stand out from the rest.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a mess and I loved every second of it. I have listened to all the Finlay books, but I read Vero’s, so it took me a second to get used to Finlay/the narrator again. I found this funny, sweet, interesting, fast paced, a truly enjoyable time. I am very curious to see if there will be another!

I loved this addition to the series. Cosimano has done a fantastic job with these books. They do tend towards the unbelievable but they are so fun with such colorful characters that it doesn't matter. This story was great, entertaining and an overall great read.

Thank you NetGalley and Minotaur Books for the advanced ebook copy of Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice! The book is out now!!

This book picks up right where the last one left off, and Finlay and Vero find themselves on a road trip to Atlantic City with the kids. Don’t worry about missing the other characters. They all somehow weasel their way into the girls trip.

I absolutely loved the first Finlay book, and as the series goes on I’ve lost interest. Everything with Finlay is becoming too repetitive and confusing. The part I enjoyed the most about this book was Vero and Javi’s story line. I tried to read this before the pub date, but I ended up needing to listen to the audio because I kept loosing interest in the ebook. Unfortunately, this will be my last read for the series.

I loved this! I love the Finlay Donovan books and this one was no different. I love the characters and the plot. There wasn't any plot holes and the story was set at such a good pace. It held my attention

Elle Cosimano delivers a masterful blend of comedy and mystery, making this an irresistible read from start to finish. Finlay's adventures are as heart-pounding as they are hilarious, ensuring this book earns a well-deserved five stars!

Although this was the slowest in the Finlay series, it was still action packed, sweet, and absolutely ridiculous! What I really want is a Vero series, she is own bad ass chick.
