Thank you to @netgalley, @minotaur_books, and the brilliant author, @ellecosimano, for the opportunity to read this #advancedreadercopy in exchange for my #honestbookreview! The final installment for the Finlay Donovan series is out March 5 so run now to preorder! 🧡
Note: this is the fourth book in the series and for maximum enjoyment, I recommend reading the prior three Finlay Donovan books and also the super fun novella, Veronica Ruiz Breaks the Bank before you read this one.
This was Finlay, Vero, and co’s wildest ride yet and I loved every minute! Cosimano does a great job of setting a scene so well you can perfectly visualize it in your mind while simultaneously keeping you on the edge of your seat with the fast paced antics of this crew. I’m so sad that the series is over but I can honestly say this is one of my favorite series I’ve read to date. I highly recommend this series for fans of suspense, friendship, and funny shenanigans!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 5/5
I was a fan of the first Finlay Donovan book, so continued reading the series and requested book 4. Unfortunately, I don’t think cozy mystery is for (although I’m sure Finlay Donovan is the best of it and is enjoyable for some people)
Just feels repetitive and Finlay should get her life together lol
Recommend for people who like this genre, or just want a chuckle
From page one this book made me smile. So witty. The laughs just keep coming. The things that happen make you shake your head. It plays like a movie reel. There are nods to earlier books but if you have not read them it does not spoil the enjoyment. The end hints of a possible next book. Please!!!!!
I've been fortunate enough to get ARCs for most of this series. So I might have actually pumped my fist in the air and cheered when I was approved for this one. Yet again, Finlay and Vero are on another wild adventure. This time they've found themselves headed to Atlantic City with Finlay's ex-husband, mom and two kids. Their mission is to rescue Vero's longtime crush from Marco. However, the situation gets more complicated when during their quest they find the bodies of two people intimately involved with the mob.
I would say I liked this book; however, it was not my favorite. I feel like this plot line has come to it's end and has started to become a bit too over the top and unbelievable.
I ALREADY NEED MORE. I can’t get enough of Finlay and Vero’s misadventures.
The cliffhanger was *chef’s kiss.” This might be my new or second favorite after the first in the series. The story was incredibly fast paced and I loved that it felt heavy on Vero’s story, especially after Vero Breaks The Bank. This is currently my new favorite series and you’d think considering this is book FOUR (and a half) the storyline would get old and tired, but it’s far from it. It seems like Finlay and Vero are always finding themselves in far-fetched situations while still being relatable and likable main characters.
Huge thank you to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for review.
These Finlay Donovan books are always fun! This offering was just as wacky and madcap as the previous three were.
Finlay and Vero, plus a gigantic entourage, head to Atlantic City to solve some crime and clear their names. There's not a ton to say for set up that doesn't give away previous books' story lines, but I was glad to see that several past open cases were tied together at the end of this book.
This book was so entertaining! Finlay and Vero bounce from one misadventure to another and it keeps the book moving at a great pace. I love all the personal details, like Finlay's relationship with her hot cop and Vero's past struggles. The cases are amusing, but filled with over-the-top coincidences and are quite unbelievable. That's pretty much what you are signing up for with a cozy mystery though. My biggest issue with these books is how many small details that are pulled through from book to book. I've read these as they come out and it's really hard to remember callbacks from the first couple of books. That said, I always do end up enjoying these and I will continue reading the series.
Thank you to Minotaur Books and Netgalley for the advanced e-book in exchange for my honest review!
4.5/5
Elle does it again. I got hooked on the Finlay series a bit ago when I was randomly searching out books. Growing up, I had always loved the Stephanie Plum series. This series though, hits me in the soul. Finlay is so relatable as a mom and as a character who has her flaws and she knows it. She's always finding herself in these crazy scenarios and I eat that up every single time.
I was so excited when I saw that this book was coming out. The stories always leave me wanting more at the end and wanting to know what happens. Seeing Finlay and Vero in Vegas was an absolute trip. Nick is still sweet as always and the perfect man. Steven always proves to me that while he has grown as a character since book one, he still sucks as a person lol. The action was amazing, it was so nice to see characters from the previous books continue through this one.
I had so many expectations for this book going in and honestly, they were all met. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC, this was an absolute wonderful ride.
The Finlay series is officially my comfort series.
Of course you have to suspend your disbelief in this newest adaptation but that rings true to the rest of the series as well. Finlay Donovan Rolls The Dice was probably my favorite of the series since the first book.
Finlay and Vero drive to Atlantic City to save Javi but surprise! Finlay’s mom, children and ex husband are coming along for the ride, as well as some other guests who make everything much more complicated.
This book had humor, twists, great relationships and of course lots of dead bodies. Also there was a 10/10 dachshund Kevin Bacon who I fell in love with. The only thing that knocks this down to 4 stars for me was that the timeline has confusing. I wasn’t sure how long each day was (like Finlay and Vero did a lot in a day, I would be dead). But overall this was a fun, easy read that I devoured. I look forward to the rest of the series!
this one was the best installment of this series yet!!! 🤯 after loving the first one, not liking the second one at all, and feeling like the third one just set up the fourth one, I was so pleasantly surprised at how action-packed this was!!
finlay and vero are back at it again, this time racing against time to rescue vero’s boyfriend from the mafia and clear their names!! and while both of their actions left me going “huh” at their stupidity, everything worked out so nicely for them at the end?? I was 100% that math lady meme 😶
this one picked up right where the third one left off, and let me tell you, I needed a recap for sure because I couldn’t remember anything 🫨 the names and events truly were a mystery to me so thank you google
I will say that the action and non-stop adventures definitely kept me going and led me to binge this in one day! and I loved how it included all of the characters from ex-husband steven to finlay’s hippy mom to nick, the hot cop boyfriend!
I have no idea where this series is going from here - especially as everything was wrapped up with a nice lil bow (even though I’m still wondering how they managed to get away with it all but it’s fine)
thank you to netgalley and minotaur for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review!

I’ve enjoyed the three previous adventures with Finlay Donovan and this one was no different. Fast-paced stories full of somewhat improbable hijinks. This book was a good time.
I’d definitely recommend this to others.
I received this book free of charge from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
These books stress me out- but in the best way. I can’t say I loved the setting of this book- it seemed like a stretch that so much would be going on with every character packed into a few hotels. That said, it was fun following the twists and turns.
Finlay takes on Atlantic City!
How can you not enjoy the roller coaster ride that’s Finlay Donovan’s life. Pursued by a loan shark, her Aston Martin, a gift from the Russian for the mob, stolen, presumably by said loan shark, she’s constantly tripping over dead bodies. Then there’s staving off a jealous husband who just doesn’t get it, whilst melting into a puddle whenever hot Detective Nick Anthony comes her way. On top of that her nanny/business partner, Vero’s childhood sweetheart, Javi is missing.
Finlay and Vero decide to quietly slip off to Atlantic City to get both back.
What was supposedly a quiet, quick trip for these two turned into a family gathering with Finlay’s mother, her children, her ex-husband Steve, crashing the party. What else could go wrong? Well Nick turned up with his partner Charlie, along with Finlay’s FBI sister and her new girlfriend.
Is there anything else?
Oh, how about a couple of dead persons of interest in a room at a high rolling casino.
Life is just one action packed, high octane scene after another.
Meanwhile Finlay’s supposed to have pages from her new novel with her agent. Parts of Finlay’s Atlantic City ventures inform the pages, with her agent salivating at the developments. There’s the promise of a TV series on the horizon. Finlay’s not convinced.
Another stunning, fun packed episode in Finlay’s life.
An exhilarating read and I’m totally exhausted!
A St. Marin’s Press ARC via NetGalley.
Many thanks to the author and publisher.

Wow, what a fun read! I think this one may be the best since the first book of the series. Lots of high jinks & shenanigans, as Finlay & Vero head to Atlantic City to rescue Javi & find the stolen Aston Martin. There was more of hot Nick & several (!) dead bodies, along with disguises, explosions, & gambling. I may have loved this one even more because I read it while we were on vacation in Vegas.
Thoughts:
Finlay and Vero are back again in this fourth book of this series.
In this book Finlay and Vero plan a much needed girls trip which is really a trip to Atlantic City to save Javi and look for a stolen car.
But before leaving this girls trip ends up becoming a family trip when the kids and the mom and the ex husband decide to go.
Suddenly this trip turns into very thing but a fun girls getaway.
Soon Finlay and Vero of course end up finding a dead body in the hotel and that’s where this fun road trip turns into a crazy road trip that only Finlay and Vero can find themselves in.
The banter between these two are wonderfully written and These two are just hilarious together and the situations they find themselves In are so out of the normal it’s perfect for this series.
If you’re a fan of the Finlay Donovan series you will enjoy this book.
The 4th installment of of this series, in true Finlay fashion, it was a ✨w•i•l•d✨ ride 😅😅😅
I don’t truly know if anything could beat the magic of the first book but, this is definitely one for the Finlay obsessed reader!!!

Very fun installment! I did love the change of scene and who doesn't love a road trip book. Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice turned up the humor and the wackiness, with a Weekend at Bernie's style plot and an Atlantic City setting. I had been a bit on the fence about Vero but really enjoyed getting more of her backstory and seeing more of her more vulnerable side.
I'm a fan of the series but am hoping that the whole EasyClean and FedUp storyline can be over and that we can get a completely new plot line. The ending gave me hope, so we will see.
Short synopsis: Finlay and Vero are back, and this time they are trying to rescue Vero’s crush Javi from a Loan Shark in Atlantic City.
My thoughts: I absolutely adored the first book in this series. It was hilarious and I couldn’t read it fast enough. This one just didn’t quite hit the mark for me.
The beginning pages in true Elle Cosimano fashion were hilarious! The shenanigans just got a little bit too ridiculous for me. There’s no way they can get away with so many dead bodies.
I think so many people will eat this up. I just love the “ride or die” relationship between Finlay and Vero, everyone needs a friendship like that!

I am so in love, obsessed with this series and this book had me stressed out and screaming at Finlay and Vero just like the others. If this was the end of the series, I would be satisfied with where it wrapped up, but if it's not, I am thrilled and ready to be along for the ride.
First of all, can we just start this review off by acknowledging that Steven is the actual worst? Admittedly, his presence did allow for the events of this book to go in some truly wild places, but still. The book starts off with the most ridiculous set up for this road trip with Finlay, Vero, the two kids, Finlay's mom, and Steven on their way to Atlantic City. Ultimately, so many of the characters we've come to know and love wind up in this book, which is what makes me think that this could be a conclusion to the series.
If you're not here though, content to yell at Finlay and Vero for committing probably their 60th felony in four books, I wouldn't recommend this series to you because truly, these books have been wild. If there's a right move, Finlay and Vero won't make it. Find a dead body? Let's cover it up. The love of Vero's life has been kidnapped? Best not involve the authorities, the women will figure it out. But if you do love their antics, then this book is full of them and it's so funny and fun and sometimes stressful.
Ultimately, as I've stated a couple of times, if this was the conclusion to the series, I am satisfied with where Cosimano leaves us. But if she wants to keep tugging on the thread she laid down at the end of the book and give us more adventures, I'll be right here waiting anxiously to devour them.
Finlay and Veronica are my favorite duo so obviously this was one of my most anticipated reads for 2024! I love the shenanigans they get themselves into, and I love Finlay’s mom!😆 The girls find themselves in Atlantic City with the kids, Steven, and an assortment of others that make surprising appearances! There is mess after mess after mess with hilarious banter that gets me every time!
These books are always such a wild ride! It’s so fun to read something that tackles how complicated it can be to experience the unglamorous parts of motherhood, while simultaneously trying to blaze a new path for yourself, IN TANDEM WITH TRYING TO COVER YOUR ACCIDENTAL CRIME TRACKS.
Finlay and Vero and their “girls’ weekend” in Atlantic City are full of mishaps and close calls and dangerous mobsters, while also giving moments of hilarious levity and some heart pounding romantic moments as well.
I don’t know if this is the last installment in Finlay’s adventure, but so many of the loose ends throughout these four books do get tied up pretty nicely…while also landing us on a bit of a cliffhanger that leaves plenty of room to keep going.
I would highly recommend this book for a bit of fun light reading with an excellent sense of suspense!
