Elle Cosimano does it again! The latest installment of Finlay Donovan is just as exhilarating and hysterical as the rest.

I found this one just a bit harder to follow, but it may be because I am not familiar with casinos and gambling. It seemed like there was a lot of detail regarding how casinos are laid out and my brain just couldn’t see it clearly, and I think it took away from the story a bit for me.

Overall, I still think this was a great book and I’m looking forward to the next one!

Thank you to Minotaur Books and Netgalley for my ARC of this much anticipated release, which is out March 5, 2024.

What can i say? I absolutely love Finlay and Vero and the naughtiness they find themselves in. This one finds them off to Atlantic City for a girls' weekend away. But if you know these ladies, the odds are stacked against them actually having a relaxing time. With too many passengers in tow and many hands in the pot, all bets are off on this trip.

As always, we have some great banter between Vero and Steven. But Finlay's mom takes the cake in this one. I certainly found her humor to be a breath of fresh air in an otherwise redundant story line. I did enjoy it and I am not going to lie, i was kind of hoping to see the ending wrap up the series, but I'm not so sure. I guess I will wait and see if there is more to come!

Finlay and Vero are back at it again for the fourth installment of the Finlay Donovan series by @ellecosimano. In FINLAY DONOVAN ROLLS THE DICE, they’re hitting the road and heading to Atlantic City. This book starts right where book 3 left off so I don’t want to give anything away if you haven’t read the other books in the series.

Vero and Finlay are just as funny as ever and throwing Finlay’s mom into the mix proved to spice things up. I was laughing out loud at their trip to the “diner for a burger.” The Donovan series is similar to Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series as far as humor, dynamic duos, and a good cozy-ish mystery feel goes. And I am here for it! I’ll look forward to the next installment — good cliffhanger at the end of this one so I know the girls’ adventures are not done yet.

If you haven’t started this series yet, it is a must if you like quick, fun, mysteries that will have you laughing out loud. They’re perfect palette-cleansing books and must reads in my opinion. Read them in order for all the fun! I didn’t reread Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun before this one but Cosimano does a good job of reminding us of the important parts of previous books.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Many thanks to @minotaur_books for an early galley! Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is set to release on 3.5.24!

I am so fortunate to have read every Finlay Donovan book as an ARC (and I’ve also bought every single physical copy to display on my bookshelves)! I thank my lucky stars every day that I get to read books and review them - especially ones I love and want to read, anyway!

If you haven’t read any of the other books in this series, do not fret, Cosimano does an excellent job of catching the reader up on all things Finlay as the story unfolds.

I just love that this ordinary woman who deals with balancing family, friends, work, and life like any normal person gets caught up in such insane and illegal activities, while also being so close to the law!

All the characters have something to add and really do come to life in these books. Even the ones I thought I’d dislike at the beginning have grown on me. Finlay and Vero are definitely a dynamic duo you don’t want to miss.

It’s so fun to read this series!

I was so close to thinking this might be the last book, but that final page made me think there are definitely more to come and I CAN’T WAIT!!

First, let me start by saying that I'm a big fan of this series. I love Finlay and Vero so much, and they are on of my favorite book friendships. That said, Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice missed the mark a bit for me.

While I've had to suspend my reality with the entire series, this one was so far over-the-top unbelievable to me that I struggled a little to get through the middle bit of the book. The plot in this series went from humorous and far-fetched in the first book to completely ridiculous and implausible in this one. I don't want to post spoilers, so I'll just leave it there.

I did still enjoy the overall book, and I liked how the main storyline wrapped up. The characters continued to draw me in, and they are the reason I will continue reading this series. I appreciated that we got to see more from some of the secondary characters in this book, like Georgia, Sam, and Finlay's mom. And Nick continues to be a great guy who I honestly feel a little sorry for with how much Finlay lies to him.

Overall, I'm thinking my rating falls somewhere around 3 stars.

Read if you enjoy:
✔️ Cozy mysteries
✔️ Far-fetched plots
✔️ Female friendships
✔️ Casinos
✔️ Funny moments

I did a happy dance when I was approved for an advanced read of this title - thank you @NetGalley and @ElleCosimano for this opportunity. I LOVE Finlay Donovan and have devoured every single book, hoping for more. If you haven't jumped into this series yet, you have time to get caught up before the release of this title on March 5th!!

In this 4th book, Finlay and Vero are right where we left them, accompanied by the quirky cast of characters I can't help but love. Finlay and Vero head to Atlantic City to save Javi from his kidnappers and attempt to clear Vero's debts in the process. What the ladies hope to be a quick trip, is of course complicated when Steven, the kids, and Finlay's mom insist on coming along. I loved all the banter and can't help but thank Elle Cosimano for including Steven and some extra laughs at his expense.

Things become even more difficult to navigate for Finlay and Vero (but A LOT more fun for the reader) with the surprise arrivals of Nick, Charlie, Georgia, and Sam, who are there to track down some leads on the Felix case and to protect Finlay and her posse.

I don't want to spoil any of the fun twists and turns we can expect from this series, but can say they are on par with books 1-3 and are so much fun. I couldn't put the book down and just love everything about the dynamics between these characters. I wish I could jump in and be part of the action.

I am already SOOO excited for book #5 after the ending of this one!

Elle Cosimano has a talent for making me laugh on each page while I fly through the chapters. It’s a simple task, but almost impossible to successfully achieve. Finlay Donovan’s escapades has been one of my favorite series in the past year, and the fourth installment was no different.
In this book, Finlay and Vero try to sneak off to Atlantic City, only to have Finlay’s ex-husband Steven, her mother, and her kids all join in on the fun. The two must work together to hide their real objective (saving Vero’s “friend” from a loan shark) and maintain the charade of a fun girls’ weekend while entertaining Steven and the kids. As the plot thickens, more of the series’s recurring characters pop up, keeping the pace break-neck fast and fun!
Finlay and Vero are incredibly well-developed characters, with full backgrounds that influence their decisions at every point. Learning about their backgrounds and connecting the dots makes each book feel like a layered mystery, keeping me fully entertained. But the real magic is in their friendship. I love that Cosimano focuses on their friendship over the romantic endeavors in their lives, and emphasizes the importance of a loving support system.
If you’d read the first three books in the series, it’s time to pick up #4! And it’s definitely not the last in the series, so buckle up for even more adventures with Finlay and Vero.

This book picks up right where the third in the series left off- Finlay and Vero are headed to Atlantic City to find Javi and put the whole mess they've gotten themselves into behind them. But suddenly Steven, the children and Finlay's mom are tagging along. Once they get to AC, Georgia, Sam, Charlie and Nick show up making this trip a bit too crowded for comfort. High jinks and craziness ensue with so many twists and turns you might get whiplash.

I really enjoyed this entry into the series. I found the third book lacking and way too confusing, but this one was so much better. More of the humor from the first book was present and while the plot was confusing and sometimes convoluted I was able to follow this one better. I loved that things were tied up at the end, but with a new cliffhanger indicating that the series will continue in a different direction.

You really can't read these books out of order. They won't make any sense at all. So although this is a great book, don't start here if you haven't read the others. Can't wait for the next entry in the series! Thanks @netgalley for the ARC!

Elle Cosimano wrote another entertaining Finlay Donovan book. Finlay is on a girls' weekend to Atlantic City. She and Vero are looking to rescue Javi. They get into some mischief in their pursuit and uncover some new bad guys. A few friends and family members also end up in Atlantic City to add to the adventure. It's an enjoyable series, and I'm looking forward to book 5 in the series!

There are no luckier and unluckier women alive than Finlay and Vero. Somehow they manage to get tangled up with gangsters, loan sharks, hitmen, the Russian mob, dirty cops, chop shops, demanding agents, hot cops, and survive. At least for another day. I love this series! Wonderful characters and fun plots.

Book 4 in the Finlay Donovan series, and this is a series you must read in its order as this book would be hard to read as a standalone. Finlay Donovan is a supreme multitasker, otherwise known as a single mother. She manages two children, her career as an author, an ex husband, a hot cop boyfriend, an overprotective cop sister, and an overbearing mother. AND, she balances helping out her accountant/babysitter who owes money to the wrong people, a young hacker who has made more than a few mistakes, the Russian mob, and the Atlantic City mob. Her escapades will leave you both laughing out loud and rooting for her success. In this installment, Finlay and her accountant/babysitter head to Atlantic City to rescue Vera's childhood friend/boyfriend who has been kidnapped. Only they don't go alone. Why wouldn't you bring your children, your mother, and your ex-husband to rescue a man, find a stolen car, and outsmart the mob. As usual, the dead bodies pile up, and Finlay's prowess for making up stories as an author helps them come up with ideas to be the good guys in the story. This book is great fun, and I always look forward to a new Finlay Donovan book. This is probably my second favorite in the series (after the first one).

Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an advance copy. My opinion is my own.

n this 4th installment of my favorite mystery series, Finlay Donovan & her nanny/ best friend Vero go to Atlantic City to rescue Javi (vero’s long time love interest) from a loan shark who kidnapped him, because Vero owes the loan shark a LOT of money from using his money to gamble, losing it & never paying him back.

However, this “girls weekend” to Atlantic City sparks finlays mothers interest & her ex husbands. So everyone + the kids packs their bags for a seemingly normal weekend away (at least it is for her mom, kids, & ex) but then Finlay and Vero discover two bodies in a hotel room and find themselves once again with their fingerprints in a crime scene. The mystery involving the Russian mob also continues in this installment.

This was probably my second favorite book in the series thus far- I liked it so so much better than the third installment, & I really enjoyed the banter, mystery, & suspense in this one. The romantic aspects between Finlay and Nick were also a lot more intense and fun in this one!!

what I didn’t like- I feel like it will never measure up to the first installment- I just didn’t get that five star feeling for it and some things felt too easy for our characters to get out of, especially toward the end when something huge happens and I wasn’t expecting it to be so easy.

Thank you to Netgalley & Minotaur books for the eArc in exchange for an honest review!

I hate to say it, but this might be my last Finlay. For most of the book, the hijinks felt tiresome to me. The ending, however, gave me hope, since it resolved some ongoing conflicts. I'd be open to book five if it takes on something newer or goes a different direction. I don't know how long the romance with the hot-detective-who-doesn't-know-her-dark-secrets can last, and the tension makes me cranky instead of curious.
If you're a fan of the series, you'll enjoy this book. It hits a lot of the same beats and has the signature humor. Cosimano's writing is still in great form, and she delivers on what the series promises.
If you haven't read any books in the series, I highly recommend the first book. It absolutely delighted me and kept a smile on my face from page one to the end.
Thank you to the publisher for the advance ebook copy!

FINLAY!! this has become one of my favorite series, it’s been hilarious to read and i love the murder mystery aspect to it. i felt like this was solid, it moved the story, the pace was nice and everything from books 1-3 was connected and brought back here. i expect that this is the last book in the series, though that ending had me like 👀, but honestly what a nice touch ha. i think this Finlay Rolls the Dice wrapped up the entire Finlay story in a great way and it’s been a wild adventure reading these books. i can’t wait to reread the series, i think it’s will be a fun reread!

Cozy-ish Mystery that finds a writer and her nanny who travel to Atlantic City to negotiate with a loan shark, save her BFF's crush, find a stolen car and tie up lose ends.

4/5 stars: This is the fourth entry in Cosimano's Finlay Donovan series which is a Cozy-ish Mystery that features a romantic suspense writer and her nanny / partner-in-crime. With plenty of twists and turns, Cosimano has crafted rollicking madcap adventure that deftly finds Finlay and Vero finally wrapping up many of the unresolved mystery plot lines that have carried over from the first three books. Additionally, Cosimano's character work is stellar; the characters are well-rounded, complex and yet remain likable. It's the relationships that really shine in this series, whether it's Finlay partner-in-crime / BFF's through thick and thin vibe with Vero, her often antagonistic dealings with her ex-husband or the tentative second-chance romance with Nick, the detective. I always look forward to reading this series and seeing where everyone's at and what hi-jinks they're going to be getting up to. I have to say that while I LOVE this book and series for it's wild and crazy plots and antics, you really have to suspend belief to enjoy this and there were a couple times when things happened that just plain threw me out of the story. But as I said I overall very much enjoy the book and series and will always be back for more... I mean that ending, come on! This book touches on some sensitive topics, so take care and check the CWs. While you could read this as a stand-alone, you'll gain so much more by reading this series from the beginning; so be sure to pick up book one, Finlay Donovan Is Killing It.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (3.5)
Steam Level: 🔥🔥 (fade to black scenes)

Finlay and Vero are headed to Atlantic City to try and tie up some loose ends and save someone important. Unfortunately, they won't be alone on this trip, so they'll have to get creative to cover their tracks and avoid suspicion. Will this trip bring more trouble than they bargained for?

This series is such a fun form of escapism. Finlay and Vero have the best friendship, and this book just continued to show how they help each other out no matter what. I do think the plot got a little too outlandish and complicated in this one, and I found myself getting a little confused trying to follow what was happening. I'm really glad that the ending provided closure for several things while still setting up the next book for more hijinks. Nick continues to be a great love interest for Finlay, but I was a little conflicted by how the romance played out. I'm pretty sure we'll get an HEA at the end of the series, but I'm nervous about how things were left between them in this one. Here's hoping the series goes out with a bang🤞

Finlay and Vero are hitting the road! I love a road trip setting. I've never been to Atlantic City, but I'm right at home in a casino (because I lived in Vegas and worked in them frequently, I'm not a gambling addict). The timeline picks up right where Book 3 left off with almost no gap.

I enjoyed that Book #4 wrapped up a lot of loose ends from the previous books. The mystery was a lot more interesting to me than Book #3, and I was thrilled that the kids played more of a roll in this one.

The romance also really ramps up in this installment, which I was overjoyed about. I love Nick! Of course, Steven was there to get in the way, but that just made it even more sweet when Finlay and Nick did catch some time together.

Lovers of this series are going to be pleased. I definitely don't recommend you read this one as a standalone--there's too much history in the previous books. It ends in the most hilarious way, which is hopefully a setup for the next book!

Elle has done it again!! I love the Finlay Donovan series, and this next one in line is amazing. I will read 100 of these books!

Book #4 in the Finlay Donovan series, and I don’t know how Elle Cosimano keeps coming up with hilarious stories…but she does it again! I REALLY enjoyed book 4, and it gave me serious Hangover vibes with the shenanigans!

It’s been a year since I read book 3, so I was worried I wouldn’t remember much (there are a lot of characters and plot points), but Elle does a great job weaving in the tidbits to refresh your memory along the way.

Finlay and Vero get away with some pretty incredible stuff all while their family is oblivious 😂. Luck was definitely on their side! I love the humor in these books, and that you go on an adventure (albeit not a realistic one - but that’s half the fun).

I loved the ending and how everything tied together.
