Delightful cozy full of fun little hijinx and some personal growth for some of the characters. I enjoyed the ride; it was better than the third in this series.

The Finlay Donovan books are always such a fun read! The storylines are farfetched, which is one of the reasons they're so fun :) They also stress me about because there are non-stop high jinks!

After the disappointing third installment, Finlay Donovan Jumps The Gun, I was worried whether the fourth novel will be another disappointment and the Finlay Donovan series will be a series I would have to let go. Fortunately, Elle Cosimano has proved me wrong!
Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is a delightful read that has the charm that was missing from the third book.
The plot takes off literally after the third novel but with more chaos, more shenanigans, and a heaping amount of surprising moments that kept me reading all night.
The characters are just as great and lovable as the previous installments. Finlay and Vero’s dynamic is my favorite aspect of the series (other than the mysteries). The other characters are fun, although this book had too many that it was hard to keep up with names.
The reason why it isn’t a 5 star is because there are moments that I found to be too convenient. I’m greatly aware this is fiction and it’s entertaining, however there are a few moments of Finlay’s monologue where she connects the dots rather quick but, personally, it didn’t quite make sense for Finlay’s character.
Overall, a fun and entertaining read, and I can’t wait for the next installment!

Finlay and Vero are taking their show on the road! The story was that they were taking a "girls trip" to Atlantic City for some needed R&R. In truth, it is a ruse to find to clear Vero's debt from a violent loan shark who also happens to be holding Vero's childhood love hostage. Somehow this turns into a very complicated family vacation, with Finlay's mother, ex-husband and children all along for the ride. Murder and mayhem has never been such fun! Elle Cosimano has created another multi-layered story of crime and comedy with Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice.
Readers of The Thursday Murder Club will thoroughly enjoy this Thelma and Louise take on organized crime.

I read the first book a while ago and thought it was kind of ridiculous but mostly entertaining. This one picks up immediately where the first book leaves off, and it had been so long since I'd read it that I couldn't remember enough detail to figure out what was going on. Things were very chaotic and I felt like I should know a lot more about what was happening than I did, making it not an enjoyable start. I ended up not finishing because I was completely lost. Not rating elsewhere since I did not finish.

In this fourth installation of the Finlay Donovan series, the laughs continue as Finlay and her nanny, Vero, go to Atlantic City. They’re pretending it’s a girls’ trip, but really, they need to rescue Vero’s crush, Javi, and negotiate a deal with bad guys in an effort to save lives. Finlay’s mother and ex-husband force their way onto the trip, so, while trying to solve crimes, they also have to ditch Finlay’s children, ex, and mother. Naturally, Finlay’s romantic interest is a cop who is also sent to Atlantic City.

This is a funny, fun, fast read.

NetGalley provided an advance copy of this novel, which RELEASES MARCH 5, 2024.

I think this has to be my last rodeo with Finlay and her merry band of misfits. The hijinks and chaos and suspension of all disbelief is just getting to be too much for me.

I loved the first book so much and I have a lot appreciation for it specifically because it encouraged me to branch out and try some less gritty thrillers and mysteries. While I still prefer the darker books, stories like Finlay’s showed me just how fun mysteries can be!

The writing is good and the story is entertaining here but in my opinion, Finlay & Friends have lost some of their luster and I just don’t care to keep going with the series. If you loved the last few books you’ll very likely enjoy this one! If you’ve started to feel a bit blah about the series, I don’t think book four will knock your socks off.

Either way, kudos to Elle Cosimano for such fun characters and a hugely successful series!

This Finlay Donovan book was just as madcap and outrageous as all the others. I enjoyed it, but I am glad that a lot of threads have been wrapped up, because it was starting to feel like they were going on too long. I also thought there were so many character in this one that I had some trouble keeping them all straight. I will continue in the series and hope they delve more into what is going on with Steven. I look forward to the next one!

I loved book 1 and 2, this one and the third were a bit of a disappointment I enjoy the friendship of Finlay and Varo and all their crazy adventures though they are getting more over the top. If you enjoy a light humorous mystery, then this book is for you. I just feel spoiled by the first two

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice picks up right where the previous book ended. If you are a fan of this series, the 4th installment does not disappoint.

Under the guise of a 'Girl's Weekend', Finlay and Vero decide to take a road trip to Atlantic City to rescue Javi who has been kidnapped. Of course her mother, two children and ex-husband will be along for the ride. Little does she know, almost everyone in her life will also be joining the girls' trip at some point or another.

If you love the silliest parts of these books, you will love this addition. As you can imagine, Finlay and Vero find plenty of trouble and have to be increasingly creative to cover their tracks. There are plenty of the laugh out loud moments that you would come to expect. However, there are also so many heartwarming moments that remind you this series is about a woman who is reinventing herself. No worries if you're looking for some spice (there's some of that as well).

I highly recommend fans of the series grab a copy of Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice when it's released on March 5. 2024! Thank you to both Minotaur Books and NetGalley for the advanced reader's copy!

First and foremost, I would like to thank Netgalley and the Publisher for allowing me to read the ARC version of this book. Thank y’all so much!*

What happens in Atlantic City, stays in Atlantic City… at least that’s what Finlay and Vero are hoping for.

What could be worse than fighting the mob’s biggest bosses… oh yea; having your whole family decide that they too will join in on the adventure.

From ex spouses, whiny children, hot, sexy cop boyfriends and Kevin Bacon… will Finlay and Vero finally pay debts in the most chaotic setting yet?

I seriously enjoyed this novel. As somebody who is very new to the series, I was able to catch on rather quickly to the plot and characters.

If you loved the other books in the series, you’ll love this one as well!

What a wild ride this one was! I feel so attached to Finlay and Vero and let me tell you this book STRESSED. ME. OUT. I was on edge the entire time thinking “This is it. They are definitely not getting out of this one this time.” Finlay and Vero are the dynamic duo that every story needs and I love their relationship.

This story begins exactly where we last left off and does not let up. Atlantic City did not know what it was in for when the gang showed up. The way this story wrapped up was so fun and I truly was not expecting things to go the way they did! I do wish we had a little more Nick, but that’s just the romance lover in me 🥹💕.
If you’ve been a fan of Finlay and Vero’s adventures, you will definitely enjoy this one.

Special thanks to NetGalley and Minotaur books for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review. Be on the lookout for Finlay and the gang coming to you March 2024!

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC!

I’ve read every book in the Finlay Donovan series and want to preface this with how much I love Finlay and Vero! Unfortunately, the third and fourth books just don’t have the same charm the first two books had for me.

This fourth book picks up exactly where the third book ends and is a continued predicament of Finlay and Vero’s troubles from books one through three, which continued to have open endings to every story line... There are SO many characters and SO many story lines in this book that I never really found myself rooting for anyone or that interested in uncovering the mystery.

You have to be able to suspend reality for all the crazy turns this book takes. I’m not sure I’ll be continuing on after this one as I think I may have just grown past my appetite for this kind of book.

This is the 4th book in the Finlay Donovan series. I really enjoyed books #1 and 2 with Finn and Vero's friendship and humor. It was fun keeping up with their adventures.

I started losing interest in the 3rd book and was hoping book #4 would be different. However, this book dragged on and the plot was too far fetched. There wasn't much character development either.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I thought that one was a little more far fetched than the others. The crazy antics of Finlay and Vero take us to Atlantic City ; whole family tags along on this adventure…….. what could possibly go wrong? It was a little over the top initially but it improved as it went along. This is a quick, fun read!
Thank You to NetGalley, St Martin’s Press, and Elle Cosimano for the opportunity to enjoy this ARC.

Finlay Donovan Rolls The Dice is the fourth installment of the Finlay Donovan series, and the antics continue to keep the reader entertained. Over the top suspense, hilarious antics, and hard to believe situations are what author Elle Cosimano specializes in.
This read is pure fun. The book picks up right where the last left off with Finlay and Vero desperately trying to dig themselves out of yet another sticky situation, and bodies are piling up all the way to Atlantic City.
Thank you, NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC and opportunity to provide an honest review.

Finlay Donovan does not disappoint! Elle Cosimanos fourth installment of the Finlay Donovan series had me both laughing so hard I was crying to sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what could possibly happen next.

This book picks up where the third book left off, and begins with Finlay and Vero headed to Atlantic City to rescue Javi, who had been captured and held ransom by a loan shark willing to exchange him for the money Vero owes him, Add in Finlay’s annoying ex-husband Steven, their two kiddos, and Finlay’s mom tagging along on this “girls trip,” what could possibly go wrong?

Almost all of our favorite characters from books 1-3 make an appearance except for Mrs. Haggerty.. but don’t count her out just yet…!!!

From beginning to end this book had me captivated with equal parts suspense and hilarity with a plot that kept throwing surprises. AND now I am left waiting for the next addition in this series! Run, don’t walk, to preorder this book which is set for release March 5, 2024!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Minotaur Books for the advanced reader copy of this title! It made my whole month!

Findlay Donovan Rolls The Dice

⭐️⭐️⭐️

Author: Elle Cosimano
Genre: Cozy Mystery
Publish date: March 5th, 2024

Thank you so much to NetGalley, the author, and Minotaur Books for sending me an advanced copy in exchange for a review!

Findlay and Vero start off right where we left them in the last book. Following a ransom note, they head to Atlantic City to rescue Javi, Veros childhood crush, from a loan shark that Vero owes money to. Disguised as a much needed girls trip, every character decides to tag along. Between more dead bodies, strip clubs, and good cops/bad cops, this is the silliest Findlay Donovan book yet.

This is the fourth book in the Findlay Donovan Series, and I have to say, if you are looking for a silly, but intense mystery, this is a great series for you! I love how each book in the series starts off right where the last book ended. However, I do think this series should have been cut down to just three books. The author is amazing at continuing the plot line, and coming up with fun new trouble for the main characters to get into, but I think the story is getting a little far fetched now. Which one could argue is the point of the cozy mystery genre, but I think it can only go on for so many books before I disconnect from the series because it’s too hard to believe. The author did set up the ending to lead into a fifth book as well which I will read because I am invested in the characters now, but I do not think I will enjoy it as much as I did with the first three. All good things must come to an end at some point. Now to the positives. These books sure do make me laugh. Regardless of all the dead bodies, Findlay and Vero navigate their troubles with the funniest bickering and commentary. They will probably forever be my favorite cozy mystery character duo of all time. I am also really excited to read Veros short story that the author is releasing soon. Overall, I gave this book 3⭐️ because I love the characters so much, as well as the humor, but the plot is dragging on for me.

In the fourth novel of the series Finlay, Vero, and company travel to Atlantic City to find Javi. I enjoyed that this novel allowed us to see the characters in a new environment and also spend more time with some of the side characters. Plus seeing the relationship between Finlay and Nick blossom was great!
