Finlay, Vero, and the family including ex husband Steven hit Atlantic City. What to expect Chaos per usual! I absolutely love FInlay & Vero’s relationship. There was a ton going on in the story. However, this book was nothing short of a whirlwind hilarious adventure. It wrapped up a few things but there is room for a new ride with Finlay!
I love the finlay donovan series and all the characters. I love the friendship Finn and Vero have, and I think the books are so fun. However, this one just missed the mark for me. I feel like there were too many characters and the plot was getting convoluted. Overall, I still think it was a fun read, and would read the next one. 3.5.
I'd like to thank Netgalley for the ARC of this book. In exchange, I am providing my honest review.
This book is generally a 3.5, but I'm rounding up for good behavior.
Once again, I am treated to the mental snack food that Elle Cosimano provides with her Finlay Donovan series. These books aren't thinkers, but they are entertaining with all of their hijinks and chaos. I'll be honest, I was looking forward to this just because they provide such levity from the traditional day to day nonsense I deal with.
I will say, that there were some moments when just too much was going on, and things felt overly complicated. But, I was happy to see some plotlines wrap up. I feel like the series needs something fresh, so hopefully the next book will provide that.
I have been the biggest fan Finlay Donovan and I was beyond excited to get a chance to read Elle Cosimano’s next installment of the series. Fun, easy mystery, just like all the others, filled with many laughs. I am excited for the turn the next one may take (I won’t say anymore so I don’t give away any spoilers). The only thing I could gripe about would be the timeline of this book- I found it hard to follow. But all in all, loved the story and can’t wait to see what else Finlay will get into in the future!
Thanks to NetGalley & St Martin’s Press for the ARC!
I love all the FD books they are easy to read, make you laugh but have an interesting plot as well. I hope this isn’t the last one.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Elle Cosimano does it again. This 4th book in the Finlay series is so entertaining, hilarious, and fun as Finlay, Vero, her mother, her kids, and her ex husband Steven venture to Atlantic City. The result? Dead bodies, blowing up a building, and her police boyfriend Nick showing up at all the wrong times.
Absolutely love this series! Must read.
As always Finlay and Vero are up to their antics. Living their life's of crime while remaining funny. This book will keep you on your toes while making laugh and giving you a tad bit of romance. The plot will feel repetitive at times but the twist and laugh keep you entertained.
Finlay and Vero are back at it again with a lot of chaos and somehow still not suspected by the police. I enjoyed this one so much more than the last two for some reason. The friendship between Finlay and Vero, Steven finally admitting his wrongs, the whole scene with Javi, and even sweet Cam. I just loved it!!
FINALLY, after four books of the same story with no conclusions but many added characters, Finlay Donovan reaches a somewhat satisfying end to her adventure with her live-in babysitter Vero. My beef with the last two books in the series continued with this one. A very short time period since the series began. That Finlay and Vero always escape the most dangerous of situations. That the cops never suspect them. That more and more characters are added in each book while continuing the same story, making it difficult to keep everyone straight, but at least in this book, most of the mysteries and bad guys are satisfactorily put to bed. There’s still a few questions remaining. And a new body is discovered on the last page. But at least the major players from the first four books seem to have been taken care of.
Still fun. Still ridiculous. Lots of loose ends tied up in this one, but thankfully more introduced for the inevitable sequels.
Note:: Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and Netgally for this ARC.
I had the privilege of meeting Elle Cosimano at the signing for Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun where I learned the back story and intent for writing this delightful series. She mentioned how she wanted to create a theme around strong female friendships and you can see it displayed so prominently in her novels.
As with her previous 3 Finlay books, this one does not lack chaos (sometimes a bit too much!) and it felt like I was watching a tv series while reading. I think the books would convert beautifully to a cinematic production for whoever that opportunity arises for both Elle in real life and for Finlay in reel life. I did catch myself having to read a lot of recaps because there’s just so many characters and scenarios that occur between all 4 books, but all in all, it was a fun ride.
Finlay is one of my faves I am definitely enjoying this rollercoaster ride with her and Vero. I laugh so much when reading this series and I love how the characters have developed. I am definitely ready for the next book in this series.
I have enjoyed all of the books in this series, but things are starting to get too complicated and convoluted this time around. I believe by the end of the book almost everything is wrapped up, but new mysteries were starting.
I still love the characters and the humor. I just felt like this one was missing something.
The Finlay Donovan series is a ridiculous, hilarious, and at times heartwarming series that follows a woman who accidentally falls into a live of assassinations and chasing large sums of money to pay back the Russian Mob.
This one is no different- except, this time, we go with Finlay to Atlantic City.
I often have to remind myself that this is just a series, and that I shouldn't be comparing the story to a situation that would *actually* happen. Because we would have ended partway through book one if we were to follow that logic.
Once I was able to remove myself from reality, it was a whirlwind of an adventure!
Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Finlay and Vero are continuing their adventure by heading off to Atlantic City to rescue Javi. This time they have Steven and the kids as well as Finlay"s mother in tow. There is a whole lot going on in this book. It is a madcap adventure that keeps going and going. At times it gets a bit overboard but it is fun to read. It wraps up some things somewhat but it leaves room for another adventure to start.
Finlay Donovan hits the road to Atlantic City with nanny, mother, kids, and ex-husband in tow. Up to her usual shenanigans, Finlay and Vero work to clear Vero's debt and save their own behinds from the mob and a loan shark.
Funny, outrageous, and all around an absolute joy to read, Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is the perfect wrap up to Elle Cosimano's hilarious series.
I have yet to read a Finlay Donovan book that I didn't enjoy and this one keeps that track record going. I really enjoyed the new setting and the hijinks that Finlay and Vero get up to in this book. Looking forward to the next one!
Last year, I heard a rumor that the third book was going to be the last. For some reason, I believed this—despite the book ending on a mild cliffhanger. Well, imagine my surprise—and delight—that a fourth one was being published!
I love this series! It’s so fun to read! All the characters are so great-especially Vero and Finlay. This series gives me the same happy feelings that the Stephanie Plum (Janet Evanovich) series does. It’s just straight fun all throughout.
Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is no exception. I loved the change in setting in Atlantic City. Vero and Finn’s relationship is so amazing—I love that they would do anything for each other…even commit crimes. I’m excited to see the new direction this series will go into now that a key player is out of the way.
Thank you Net Galley for the ARC!
Thank you to NetGalley for the advance ecopy of this title. The latest installment of the Finlay Donovan series lacks a bit of the pizzazz of the others in the series. Finlay and Co. (including ex-husband and mother) head to Atlantic City to find the stolen Porsche and inevitably encounter gangsters. There is much chasing and pseudo-danger, but in the end, out favorite characters are all in one piece. If the series continues, the plot lines need to be tweaked to hold attention.
I loved it! Every Finlay Donovan book has me begging for more the moment I finish one. I can't wait to see where shes going to go next.
