Elle did it again! Finlay and Vero are just as fun to follow throughout this journey as they have been their other journeys. This one got to be a little more tricky and they had to get a little more creative!

My only critique is it did take me a minute to get into, but once I did, I was fully invested! Well written and such a joy to read. I can't wait for everyone to get their hands on this one.

Another cute story of the adventures on the other side of the law with Finlay and Vero. This time they are accompanied by the children, Steven the ex, Susan the mom and of course, Nick the "hot cop" is there to help steam things up a bit.

The Aston Martin they "borrowed" in the last book has gone missing and we know it must be the same bad guys who were after them before. Javi, cousin of Vero is missing along with the car so off to Atlantic City to try to rescue him, find the car so they can return it and try to stay alive. They leave Steven and mom at the hotel so he gets to see what full time parenting is like for 2 preschoolers instead of his usual leave them behind and just have fun.

Some of the antics are a little over the top, but overall they handle it well when they find 2 dead bodies instead of Javi in the hotel room. They do find Kevin Bacon, the dog and he does come in handy as the missing key.

Thank you Net Galley for an advance reader copy. Honest opinions expressed here are my own and freely offered.

This series gives me so much anxiety in the best possible way 😅 As a mom myself, Finlay is so relatable. The situations she and Vero get themselves into are equally nail biting and Laugh Out Loud funny. I was worried that Finlay’s story would fizzle out in this book but it turns out Elle had other plans 🤩 I can’t wait for all of my fellow Finlay fans to get their hands on this book. What a treat!

I looove this series to the max, you have no idea.
I’m always happy when a new one comes out.
It is such a fun cozy hilarious thriller that you can’t help but fall in love with it.

Book: Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice (Finlay Donovan #4)
Author: Elle Cosimano
Format: Digital
Genre: Crime/Mystery, Cozy Mystery
Places Featured: Atlantic City, New Jersey, United States
Review Score: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Review: I have a hard time reviewing the Finlay Donovan books each time because they don’t easily fit into any category (Cozy mystery? Romance? Women’s fiction? Comedy? Action?) so it’s hard to decide if it meets your expectations, but I think if you just give in and appreciate it for being a unique fun story with likable characters (and accept that the plot itself is VERY unbelievable, way too convenient, and pretty complicated), you’ll find that you just can’t help but like the series and want to keep reading. This book does a good job of (mostly) wrapping up a story that’s unfolded in the previous three books, but it is one where you do need to review the first three in order for it to make any kind of sense.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. Thank you Elle Cosimano for writing this great series! 🤗 I love all the characters and all the small stories woven into these adventures! 💗 This is a must read for all who enjoy Finlay and friends! 🥰

I love this series so much! After the cliffhanger in the previous book I couldn’t wait to read this one. I cannot wait until the next one now. The things that Finlay and Vero get into are so funny and so entertaining. This was so good. I’m going to look and see what other books Elle Cosimano has written so I can read those next.

Another exciting installment in the funny, romance mystery series, “Finlay Donovan”. I raced through this one just as quickly as the other three. We follow many of the characters from other books (Finlay, Vero, Finlay’s ex, and more), as well as some new people that haven’t been in the series much like Finlay’s mom.

The relationship between Finlay and Vero was still one of my favorite things about this book. Their banter and how easily they take risks for each other was a highlight as always. I also loved seeing Stephen (Finlay’s ex) be forced to play a bigger role in his children’s life while Finlay was solving the case.

As for the romance in this book, it was put in the backseat (not an innuendo sadly). The police officer love interest was involved in the case and they had a couple of romantic moments together. But it was very minimal compared to the other books I thought. I would have appreciated a scene or two more, especially with the deepening of the their relationship as the previous books set up.

I am not sure if this will be the last book in the series. It wrapped up in a way that could go either way. I wouldn’t mind another book but I’d be okay if it were left with this as the finale.

Overall, it was an enjoyable romp through Atlantic City with lots of near misses and antics. But it didn’t have the mystery or romance aspects as much as I’d like. The reader has a good idea who the killer is pretty early on. The relationship building and interesting predicaments kept me reading. But I couldn’t give it a full five stars for those reasons.

FINLAY DONOVAN ROLLS THE DICE is another fun, fast-paced, sexy installment in this series. I loved all the subplots and the bow Cosimano puts on the ending.

Another great read in the Finlay Donavan series! I read this ARC immediately after the third book in the series, and can’t get enough of Finlay and the cast of characters in her world. I loved Vero having more of a lead role in this story and hearing the hijinx and incredible situations that these two get in each book. Already excited for the next one!

This one keeps you entertained from start to finish and i devoured it in a day, I couldn’t put it down! Finlay donovan rolls the dice picks up where it left off in the third book. This one is filled with so much action, and i was laughing at so many parts. You can’t help but root for these characters. I love them so much! I will read anything by this author, highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun murder mystery!

3.5⭐️

I’ll admit to not totally loving the first two books in this series because some of the situations Finlay found herself in were just too far fetched for me. That being said, I really enjoyed the fourth book in the series.

Are there still plot points I find ridiculous? Yes, wildly so, but the sense of fun, action, and suspense that comes with them makes up for it.

The girl’s weekend gone awry set up was funny, adding literally everyone and their dog to the plot set the stage for some laugh out loud moments, and Atlantic City was the perfect backdrop for all the (more often than not) insane hijinks.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the advance copy of this book.

A big thanks to St. Martin's Press, Minotaur Books and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy to read and review.

Let me start off by saying that I love the Finlay and Vero characters and will always read these books to follow them on their wild adventures.

This is a fun escapism read…but out of the series, this one isn’t at the top of the list for me. It got a little more crazy than the last, which is fun…but I’m starting to feel like it is starting to verge on an unrealistic body count.

However; I was very excited with the hint that there will be more of this story to come!

I was so excited to receive an ARC of this, because I have really enjoyed the Finlay Donovan series. It's light and funny and also a little thrilling. I will say that I started losing interest some in the third book in the series, and I had a hard time finding the same enthusiasm for this fourth one. The story is just getting a little too far out there; the events are so outrageous that it's difficult for me to even play out this story in my head. We aren't seeing any character development or growth either, so the characters feel static. Still an enjoyable three-star but not as good the first two. I'd group one and two together and then three and four when it comes to rankings. In the epilogue, I thought that the series was coming to a close, but then it ended on a cliffhanger. I guess we'll be seeing more of Finlay and Vero - I know I'll read it, but I think it's time this series starts to wrap up.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for this ARC!

My favorite duo, Finlay and Vero, are back! Once again, they find themselves in over their heads while in Atlantic City with the whole crew, including the hot detective, Nick.

Though the family believes they are there for a girls weekend, Finlay and Vero are really there to search for Javi, who has been kidnapped by a loan shark. There is no shortage of drama, hilarity or action. Each page is better than the next, so good luck putting this down once you start.

Though each book in this series can be read as a stand-alone, you would definitely be doing yourself a favor by starting with book #1. The Finlay Donovan series is a brilliantly written comedy/cozy mystery that is sure to make you laugh and swoon. Honestly, I live for these books. They make me so happy and I can’t wait for the next one! Thank you, NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read this amazing 5-star book. It is due to hit the shelves on March 5, 2024.

Thank you St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

I was so excited to get this ARC since I have been a big fan of the first three books and now a big fan of book four! This book was right up my alley and a lot of fun! Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice picks up immediately after book three (Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun) ends. Finlay and Vero head to Atlantic City under the guise of a girls weekend to try to fix Vero's gambling debts with a loan shark. The girls weekend quickly spirals out of control as Steven, the kids and Finlay's mom (and later Nick, Georgia and more) tag along. Finlay and Vero get themselves tangled in another murder and try to sneakily investigate.

Since this is the fourth book in the series there were a few moments that I thought how much more trouble can these women get in to? (The answer is lot!) It kind of felt like a lot of craziness and them just getting deeper in the mess, but how else are they supposed to get out of it without getting arrested? So I suspend some belief and just have fun with it.

For me this book (and the rest of the series) was the perfect combo of mystery, thriller, and romance. The mystery is interesting and keeps me guessing and there are high stakes moments, but it is not gory or scary. The romance is a side plot, but I am still invested in Finlay and Nick's relationship and if all this crime gets in the way of them being happy I'm gonna be so upset.

I will be curious to see how the series continues since the plot/crimes of the first four books is wrapped up. (Or maybe it isn't and this new teaser is connected?? Especially since there are a few things about Steven that didn't get wrapped up!) Either way I'm excited to continue the series.

Overall I recommend if you love a fun, modern cozy mystery with a side of romance.

I started this series earlier this year, and I went into it blindly (because I liked the cover). I had no idea what it was about, but I'm glad I read all 4 books. This 4th book was so much fun. Vero is my favourite character, especially with her hilarious lines. I just wish that there would be another book after this one.

Finlay Donovan and crew are back in the most outrageously funny, sexy, fast paced story yet in FINLAY DONOVAN ROLLS THE DICE. Author Elle Cosimano doesn’t miss a beat or trick in giving fans of the series all they’ve been clamoring for and then some in book four of the Finlay Donovan series. Get ready to repeatedly laugh out loud while holding your breath in anticipation of the next fine mess these two hard luck ladies will inadvertently land in. It’s never a matter of “if” but rather “when” another dead body will surface as Finlay and Vero entertain readers in another adventure of a lifetime. They’re in Atlantic City, baby! Let the good times and dice roll!
Under the guise of a girl’s weekend away, Finlay and Vero plan to slip away in a desperate search for Vero’s guy Javi who’s been kidnapped by a loan shark willing to exchange him for the money Vero owes him. Simple, right? Not with these two self-appointed sleuths! Before they can skip town, an entourage including Finlay’s mother and kids plus her annoying ex Steven pile into their rental to join their getaway. It’s only a matter of hours after their arrival at a rundown hotel until Finlay and Vero break into the loan shark’s room and discover him and an accomplice dead. They do what any responsible citizen would do . . . put the bodies on ice in the bathtub and start covering their tracks, of course! Complicating an already stressful situation, they return to their seedy hotel to discover that Finlay’s crush hunky cop Nick and dirty partner Charlie plus Finlay’s sister and her cop lady friend have checked into rooms across the hall under the ruse of protecting Finlay and family from Russian mobster Feliks Zhirov. In a matter of hours, a bad situation hits rock bottom with conflicting personalities, desires and motives clashing and more dead bodies surfacing. The story that unfolds is a hysterical runaway train of impossible situations careening off the tracks as the twists and turns keep coming page after page. Plan on reading straight through as there’s no more chance of you pausing reading than there is a prayer of stopping the train wreck happening on page.

From start to finish, FINLAY DONOVAN ROLLS THE DICE is pure reading entertainment with fast-paced action, over the top suspense and slapstick style comedy reminiscent of the age-old antics of Lucy and Ethel fame. If that’s not enough, it’s also sensuously sexy and steamy as affairs between Finlay and Nick heat up much to the delight of fans, but the despair of Steven who’s delusional in clinging to hope of a reconciliation with Finlay. Cosimano excels at rendering visual scenes that draw readers into the story while charging them with figuring out how in the world these two seemingly doomed characters will worm their way out of another catastrophe resulting from being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Highly entertaining, hilarious and heartwarming, FINLAY DONOVAN ROLLS THE DICE pushes all the right buttons for fans of the series. While each book stands alone, I recommend beginning with book 1 and enjoy each subsequent title in turn. You won’t regret getting to know these characters firsthand as the overall story arc unfolds from book to book. This reader’s already looking forward to the next addition to the series and the convoluted adventures this duo will undoubtedly find themselves in. Highly recommended to fans of the series and readers who enjoy a hardy laugh along with their suspense.

In the latest book we follow Finlay and Vero who take a road trip to Atlantic City to track down Vero's friend Javi who has been kidnapped. Along for the trip comes Steven, the kids, and Finlay's mom. What follows is a lot of shenanigans.

During the trip things get chaotic. Dead bodies show up and once again Finlay and Vero find themselves in the middle of it all. It was fun watching Finlay and Vero work together to unravel the mystery of the bodies and figuring out who was involved as well as tracking down Javi. There are fun moments that involve a dog named Kevin Bacon, and Finlay and Vero trying to avoid the bodyguard hired by Nick. Steven has more scenes in this book as well, his plan to try and win back Finlay does not go as planned as he is soon left to care for the children for most of the trip.

A fun, quick read with your usual twists and reveals. I can't wait to read the next book and learn more about what Steven is hiding and the cliffhanger involving Mrs. Haggerty. Looking forward to Finlay and Vero's next adventure.
