Finlay and Vero are a duo that everyone needs to read about. If you haven’t read the first books in this series, you’ll want to read those first! But this one was SO much fun! I’m always in shock at the hilarious situations Finlay and Vero find themselves in but it’s so fun to read about how they get themselves out of the situation.
Love love love Finlay and can’t wait for more!
In Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice, Elle Cosimano delivers another thrilling installment in her beloved series. As Finlay and her partner-in-crime, Vero, navigate a girls' weekend in Atlantic City that quickly turns into a high-stakes mission, readers are treated to a fast-paced narrative filled with twists and turns.
Cosimano expertly blends humor and suspense as Finlay and Vero negotiate with a dangerous loan shark, rescue a childhood crush, and unravel a web of deception surrounding a stolen car and a missing nephew. The dynamic between the characters is engaging, and Cosimano's sharp wit shines through in their banter.
While the plot may stretch believability at times, the sheer entertainment value of Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice makes it a satisfying read for fans of the series and newcomers alike.
We’re back again with Finlay and Vero as they once again are trying to clean up their mess and get out from under some shady criminals.
I think this series has been great and highly entertaining but I’m just not sure how much more books like this we can handle. The story went from shocking and amazing as this single mom of 2 and her nanny end up in the wildest situations but now it feels exhausting. Everything always just happens to fall into place so easily. They always seem to get away and somehow her super amazing cop boyfriend never catches on at all? When will Nick finally catch her in all her lies? Maybe next book, who knows.
While I loved parts of this book and always enjoy Vero/Finlay/Stephen banter, I almost wish this story will wrap up and the author will give us new characters to experience.
Always a delight to be back with Finlay, Vero, Stephen, & the kids! I am a big fan of the Finlay Donovan series. This was the most chaotic of all the books (in my opinion) so it took me longer to get into because I was not following all that was going on! But It was funny and wild and you'll enjoy it if you are a fan of the series.
Thank you to Netgalley & the publisher for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review!
Another fun entry in the Finlay Donovan saga, this series is reminiscent of the Stephanie Plum novels. Equal parts light-hearted and fun, while still packing a wild mystery, Rolls the Dice was an enjoyable read. Nothing like a road-trip from hell to spruce up a story! I haven't had a book make me laugh out loud so many times in a long while.
Thank you to NetGalley and Minotaur Books for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily and all views expressed are my own.
It is safe to say, Finlay is one of my all time favorite characters and book series! The humor. the romance, the frienships, and of course the witty banter and action!!! Favorite series ever!
TITLE: FINLAY DONOVAN ROLLS THE DICE
AUTHOR: Elle Cosimano
PUB DATE: 03.05.2024
From New York Times bestseller Elle Cosimano comes Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice―the fiercely anticipated next installment in the beloved Finlay Donovan series.
THOUGHTS:
Finlay Donovan and her nanny/partner-in-crime Vero take an unplanned trip to Atlantic City, to rescue Vero’s childhood crush Javi, and hunt down a stolen car with Finlay’s ex-husband Steven and her mother tagging along for the ride.
I think the series is getting better and better, higher stakes, more fun and adventure, and so hilarious. Just the prologue alone had me in stitches and Cosimano just knows how to set up a scene in this absolutely delightful mystery romp.
I enjoyed this one a lot!
I enjoyed this so much more than the third book! I feel like Elle really found her groove with this story, and while I was unsure if I would continue the series after book three, this book has solidified that I will continue!
I just love Finlay and Vero - two unlikely friends that always seem to find themselves in a bind. Add Atlantic City to the mix, along with a plethora of side plots, and you have another enjoyable ride. Grab this one to read by the pool this summer!
This might be my favorite one yet! It seemed to have a lot higher stakes than the others but it was still just as fun. I think the addition of Finlay’s mom and Steven being on the trip made it a lot more interesting. Especially the interactions with Vero and Steven, definitely some of my favorite parts! I also loved seeing more Finlay/Nick and Vero/Javi!
I really think each one of the Finlay Donovan books gets better as they go on. I know Elle Cosimano puts a lot of effort and research into her books and it definitely doesn’t go unnoticed. I can’t wait for book 5!
Thank you to Minotaur Books and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!
Many thanks to Minotaur and NetGalley for this 4th installment of Finlay Donovan’s adventures! I was very on the fence with continuing this series, and I’m glad I chose to.
I really struggled with the third book, and this one definitely was a step up - is it wild and outlandish? Absolutely. Is Steven the absolute worst? For sure. Is this a fun adventure? Definitely. At a very reasonable length, these books are really easy to read and quick to finish. I’m glad I liked this one better - it sounds like we’re getting 3 more installments, and I think I’m planning on continuing it through.
Thank you again to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC in exchange for my honest review! The 4th Finlay is out in stores now!
I don’t think I could ever not love a Finlay and Vero story. The way the friendship grew into a family, I have a friend like that and want to keep her forever. She is my Vero.
I swear this series is much funnier if you listen to the audiobooks!
I didn't think I was going to enjoy this one as much as the first Finlay book but surprisingly, I did. I had so much fun with it.
I recommend reading this series in order. By the end of Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice. It felt like an arc had ended. So I'm excited about next Finlay's adventure.
This novel begins with Finlay and Vero planning to travel to Atlantic City to find Javi and the Aston Martin but their girls' weekend becomes complicated when they can't leave alone. Finlay's ex-husband Steven, her children, and her mother are all coming with them.
Their trip became even more complicated when the cops showed up.
I loved the emerging Finlay. The character continues to evolve and is becoming more assertive. I also love her friendship with Vero. They are a great duo.
I look forward to reading the next one.
Cliffhanger: No

This was really heartbreaking for me, but I DNF’d this book at 20%. I loved the previous installments in this series, but this one just was so hard for me to get into. I think it was mainly the decisions that the characters were making that kept me out of the story. After all of the events of the previous books, Finlay and Vero continued to make choices that were just so dumb in my opinion. It was like they had learned absolutely nothing from the past events and the antics that seemed fun and entertaining before just became irritating. It might have just been my mood when I was trying to read it, but I did not have a good time with the first 20% so I had to put it down.
I may revisit this one at a later time because, as I said before, I loved the first 3 books.
Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press/Minotaur Books, and Elle Cosimano for the e-arc of Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the fourth installment in Elle Cosimano's Finlay Donovan series, and I am pleased to say that it had all of the charm I have come to expect from Finlay and crew! Finlay and her nanny/partner Vero plan a girls' trip to Atlantic City. As it turns out, they are actually trying to run from a dangerous criminal by negotiating a deal with an equally dangerous loan shark, find a stolen car, and rescue Vero's on again off again boyfriend, Javi. They are hoping to do all this without attracting the attention of Finlay's ex husband or new boyfriend, who is a cop. Their plans are foiled when Finlay's mother, kids, and ex husband insist on accompanying them. Furthermore, when they arrive to Atlantic City, her new cop boyfriend also shows up with a team of police. This sets the stage for a story that has all of the hilarity and hijinks that Finlay readers have come to know and love. I can't wait to see what Finlay and crew get into next!
Really enjoyed this! Finlay Donovan is one of my comfort characters at this point, however, I do think the charm of the first book has diminished slightly
This was unhinged and I ENJOYED THE HECK OUT IT! Watch out Las Vegas because Finlay & Vero are BACK for round #4 and they will literally stop at nothing to take care of business. They are taking names and kicking ice buckets. My conclusion about this book and the overall state of things—LIFE CHANGING because when it comes to difficult choice-making and overthinking all of the things, just ask myself WWFDD? 😏
The Finlay Donovan series is literarily the banana sundae of genres. On top of that Rover 🍌 you get hefty scoops of mystery & thriller with a drizzle of hot romance, and confetti-burst sprinkles of humor spread evenly across the top. For those of you who don’t know, Finlay Donovan is a stressed out single mom of two and struggling novelist who takes on some pretty crazy shenanigans with her partner-in-crime slash nanny Vero. You have to start from the beginning of the series, Finlay Donovan is Killing It, because each book builds on the last.
The first one starts with Finlay and her agent chatting about the plot of a new book just to be overheard and mistaken for a contract killer. It gets a whole lot of crazy from then on.
I started this series with @thereadroversbookclub in June 2021 and had the opportunity to continue with the Rovers over the years & visit with @ellecosimano multiple times! Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is my new favorite. It’s so deliciously fun and I cannot wait for more!
The first Finlay Donovan was such a fun, unique read, and I was so excited to hear it would be a series. I enjoyed the second as well, though I was less impressed with the third. I hoped that the fourth book of the series, Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice, would recapture some of the early magic, but it just didn’t do it for me. The plot felt forced, and I realized I no longer felt invested in the characters.
A road trip with Finlay Donovan? Count me In! The last Finlay espiode I read left me with a major book hangover and I have been dying to know what happened next. This new title checked all the boxes for me. Finlay and Vero go escape from Finlay's family and friends multiple times to try to locate Vero's friend. There are so many mishaps and laughs along this expedition that I wasn't sure whether their plans would be successful. If you are looking for a funny take on a murder mystery series, you need to read this book. It's not just good for laughs and you may be contemplating whether you have a future as a PI mom. Aah this book was so fun and I'm really hoping we see more from Finlay Donovan in the future.
I listened to this. I’m just not as excited to read this series anymore. So for that I have to rate low and as of now I think I’ll skip the rest. Thank you to Netgalley for the eARC!
