Thank you to NetGalley for this copy of “Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice”!
As usual, Finlay and her nanny/co-conspirator, Vero, are up to more shenanigans – this time in Atlantic City for a girls’ weekend. Unfortunately, this time her ex-husband, Steven, and her mother want to tag along – putting a real damper on their adventure.
Their goal is to bring Vero’s longtime boyfriend, Javi, home safely from his kidnapping, along with the Astin Martin that Vero needs to pay off a debt. It SHOULD go well according to their plan, but, well….it is Finlay!
Elle Cosimano has done it again with another great Finlay book! From the Russian mob in a seedy motel, to side-splitting capers with Vero, to a dog named Kevin Bacon – it kept me entertained from start to finish! Can’t wait for Finlay Donovan #5!

Finaly and her partner in crime Vero are in trouble again. They want to save Vero's crush Javi, negotiate with a loan shark, find a stolen car, avoid her ex, her mother's issues and avoid getting caught. So many more hijinks than before. Love the ending... Looking forward to the next book!

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

Let's start by thanking Netgalley and Minotaur Books for the ARC! This series is the perfect balance of witty, clever banter and thrilling, convoluted mystery and Book 4 does not disappoint. Our Dynamic Duo takes off for Atlantic City, with the whole family in tow, and pandemonium ensues.

+Chaotic "Vegas" style vacation
+All the relationship tensions!
+High stakes drama
+So much character growth!
+More dead bodies

-I need more recap from previous books
-I'm too stressed about Nick finding out Finn's involvement
-Whose body did they just find??? I need answers!

Can't wait for the next book. If you are looking for an addictive, suspenseful, AND hilarious book, look no further. Finlay Donovan IS KILLING IT.

Finlay and Vero are back with their hilarious shenanigans and ballsy adventures! The action was non-stop, and I loved every minute of it! This is the fourth installment in the series that picks up right where the third book ended. It was a highly satisfying, fun and fast paced read. Finlay's mother played a big role in this story, and I was thrilled to have more from her character. I hope that the author includes her more in any future books. And I was extremely excited to see more development between Nick and Finlay, but I wanted more!! The ending is an obvious cliffhanger, and I can't wait to get my hands on book five to see what happens next. If you haven't started this series yet, what are you waiting for?? I highly recommend that you get started now. You will not be disappointed.

Thank you to the author, St. Martin's Press, Minotaur Books, and NetGalley for granting me digital access in exchange for my honest review!

It’s no surprise that Finlay and Vero find themselves in a hot mess of troubles again, the Russian mob, a crooked cop, loan sharks, dead bodies, and even Kevin Bacon just to name a few. Off to Atlantic City to try to hunt down a stolen car and deal with a dangerous loan shark/kidnapper, Findlay and Vero find themselves having to sneak away from the entourage that has somehow ended up accompanying them on what had been billed as a girls weekend. Suddenly they’re being set up for murders in addition to the troubles they already have and Findlay is having to try her best to use her fiction writers skills to imagine themselves out of the ever growing spiderweb they’ve caught in. The series is such a fun excuse to suspend reality a bit and just enjoy the ride, the hook at the end will have me looking forward to book 5. This is not a stand alone book, there were enough comments made to the previous books to jog my memory as to what had happened that I was never lost, but you’ll definitely miss a lot of fun if you skip books 1-3 as well as the backstory that explains what is going on in this one.
Thanks to NetGalley and Minotaur Books/St. Martin’s Publishing Group for an enjoyable weekend read, my dog was rewarded with treats whenever Kevin Bacon popped up as a way to apologize for ignoring him while I read.

Synopsis: If you haven’t started this series- start! The first book starts with a romance mystery writer meeting her agent at Panera. A woman eating nearby mistakes her for a hitman and that sets off a chain of events with murder, the mob and the police. Each story picks up from the last (so no standalones) and each gets more outrageous and over the top than the last.
Pros: I love these stories. Finlay and Vero are a dynamic duo who keep me laughing despite their terrible decision making.
Cons: I felt the beginning of this book needed to remind me a little bit more of where the last left off, because I was trying to piece together what was happening. The story also takes place in a casino and seems very unrealistic (aren’t there cameras?!) but I don’t care. This story was pure fun and I was pumped to get an early copy from Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press.
The story seemed to hit a conclusion but I’m hopeful that this isn’t the last we’ll see of this wild crew. Unfortunately this book doesn’t come out until March- but that gives you time to read the first three in anticipation!

Finlay and Vero are back in the fourth installment of this series, and they certainly left their mark on Atlantic City! 🎲

We start off only a short time after where we left off in Book 3 going from the police academy over to a road trip to New Jersey. Only Finlay and Vero have to take the long way around due to Vero's crimes she committed in Maryland... and Finlay's ex husband won't let her leave with the kids without him so he tags along... as well as Finlay's mom, sister, boyfriend, and the local police squad. What could go wrong?!

So much goes on in the short amount of time that the gang arrives to Atlantic City that I am amazed Finlay could even function with the little amount of sleep she accrues in the first few chapters. The crimes that Finlay and Vero have committed only grow longer as they attempt to defeat the Russian mob before Finlay's boyfriend and his squadron find it out first. This adventure is more absurd than the previous stories and the comedy is great if you allow yourself the chance to not overthink how crazy this strays from reality 😂

I wish there was a "here's what happened in books one through three" sort of prologue to help the reader dive back into the story. Especially ones who have kept up with this series from the beginning and engulf the latest story a year since the previous one. There were a few characters I forgot even existed from previous books and had to take a moment to jog my memory before continuing on with Book 4. I didn't always agree with the choices Finlay and Vero made in this story, but that brings me back to my statement that just go with the flow and don't overthink when it comes to this cozy mystery!

Despite the plethora of plot points thrown at you in a short amount of time, Elle once again does a fabulous job of tying all the webs together to create a fun ending. The cliffhanger we're left off with at the end of this current book should make for a fun Book 5, bringing back a fan favorite character! Overall, this was another fun and quirky adventure that I hope one day comes to life in the planned tv show! Book 3 still holds superior though.

Finlay and Vero, consider me along for the ride for many years to come! ❤️

Elle Cosimano delivers another winner with the fourth Finlay Donovan installment- Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice!

This story picks up right where book #3 (Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun) leaves off. Finlay and Vero are heading to Atlantic City to take care of a few issues related to past escapades! This trip, however, includes Finlay’s kids, her mom, her ex-husband, and her boyfriend Nick amongst others. As usual, Finlay and Vero manage to take care of their business but with a lot of chaos involved!

Finlay Donovan books are always fun reads and make for the perfect book to read when you need something light and humorous, and this one was no exception. Definitely add this next Finlay Donovan novel to your TBR and pre-order now to get it as soon as it releases in 2024!

Thanks #NetGalley for the advanced reader copy !

Thank you to St. Martin's Press, Minotaur Books, and NetGalley for an e-ARC of FINLAY DONOVAN ROLLS THE DICE in exchange for my review. This novel will be available on March 5th.

CW: murder, infidelity

Finlay Jumps the Gun was my favourite in the series at the time when I read it last year, so I was so excited when the author revealed she was extending the series to include four more books. I was even more excited when I was granted an e-ARC of this book. I feel like I have whiplash, however, because this was my least favourite book in the series to date. This was mostly plot and not a whole lot of action. Steven was insufferable. And while I loved Finlay's mom and how she stuck up for Finlay and Vero, I felt like this book was nothing more than a "filler" that set up the next book in the series. The ending was clever, though, and I am looking forward to the next book, but my expectations will be a bit lower next time.

Favourite quote: "You deserve opportunities, Finlay. And you deserve to be with someone who cares about what those opportunities mean to you, who puts what you need first."

Thank you Netgalley and Minotaur Books for the opportunity to ignore the world for a day and a half and devour this book.

Elle Cosimano had me snort laughing, on the edge of my seat, speed reading, and trying to also take my time and enjoy the story with this one. I love this one the most. I can't wait to read all four books again, and again, and again....

This book was a lot of fun to read. It was thrilling and had a wonderful combo of crime and humor. I need to go back and read the other books. Highly recommend!

Thank you NetGalley for the arc of this book.

I never, ever get sick of adventuring with Finlay and Vero. This book picks up right where the last one left off, with Finlay and Vero looking for the Aston, as well as the loan shark that Vero owes. They end up heading off to Atlantic City with Finn’s mom, kids, and ex-husband in tow. They are joined quickly by Nick, Georgia, Sam, Garrett, and Charlie.

I don’t want to give away anything because this book was just so fun to read. The shenanigans are bigger, the laughs louder, and the sweet moments even sweeter. With the misunderstanding about the diner and it’s actually a strip club, I cried laughing. Finlay’s mom is so great. I freaking love this series. It’s one of my absolute favorites and I want to read about Finlay and Vero’s crazy adventures forever.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Finlay and Vero always seem to get themselves into such a messy bind. But they always somehow manage to weasel their way through it.

If you know me, this is one of my all time favourite book series. And we’re only on book 4 out of 7? I believe it was approved for. I honestly don’t know how Elle keeps coming up with these crazy plot twists and characters.

This book is such chaos. You’ve got obviously dead bodies, a missing dog, an unexpected strip club visit, a Psychic doing readings while hiding, and the whole damn family and police force all in one hotel with the russian mafia all while trying to find Javi and the Missing Car from Feliks in Atlantic City. All this while Vero and Finlay are trying not to be sus.

I always laugh at the shit that goes down in these books. I’m always kept on my toes, I can never ever put the book down until I’m finished. This book was no different I am obsessed. And this is honestly I think my favourite book of the series thus far! These books are crack. I don’t know what Elle puts in them but I am addicted, I have a problem- and it’s a problem I’m not willing to put down.

Thank you so much St Martins Press and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this early in Exchange for my Honest Opinion.

Finlay Donovan is back again! I recommend Elle Cosimano's work to everyone - this fun, thrilling, and the perfect combination of humor and crime!

Once again, Finlay is caught up in murder as she heads off for a girl's weekend in Atlantic City. The weekend turns into something so much more which leads to a great read that will have you laughing. The one-liners that the author interjects into the dialogue are so on point. The Finlay Donovan series is so much fun and like a breath of fresh air. I can't wait to see what happens next for Finlay and her family.
