My favorite in the series so far !!! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. Finlay Donovan is best described as a car crash you can’t look away from but SO MUCH FUN if you’re a cozy mystery lover. For a premise you think is far fetched, this is awfully relatable

Finlay is just as hilarious as in her other titles. I don't know how she does it! I was thinking of these titles from a writer's perspective and left with two choices for the character, they always pick the worst and most chaotic. Hilarious! I already can't wait for the next title!

Does this book even need an introduction?

If you have been living under a rock and have not yet read a Finlay book, you are quite frankly, a criminal.

BUT, I will let this one slide and let you know, there is still time to catch up before the release of, Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dive.

I was first introduced to Finlay in Finlay Donovan is Killing It. This was my first time reading a book by Cosimano and I hung on her every word. This book was literary gold and I could not get enough. I began recommending Finlay to everyone I met! There wasn't a person I told about this book that didn't love it as much as I did.

Finlay Donovan Knocks Em Dead and Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun soon followed and I was wildly surprised at how much I was enjoying this series when I am usually not one that gets involved in a series (I have commitment issues) .

When I heard about Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice, I truly believed that Cosimano started writing books specifically for me. A book that takes place in Atlantic City? You mean, my home away from home? Yes, please.

No need for spoilers, Finlay will pull you right in on her adventures, you need to know nothing except the fact that this is a must read. The entire series, don't skip ahead. Im sure you could read these as standalones but why would you want to? Finlay Donovan, is LIFE!

Check out this teaser :

From New York Times bestseller Elle Cosimano comes Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice―the fiercely anticipated next installment in the beloved Finlay Donovan series.

"Finlay Donovan is irresistible!"―Janet Evanovich

Finlay Donovan and her nanny/partner-in-crime Vero are in sore need of a girls’ weekend away. They plan a trip to Atlantic City, but odds are―seeing as it’s actually a cover story to negotiate a deal with a dangerous loan shark, save Vero’s childhood crush Javi, and hunt down a stolen car―it won’t be all fun and games. When Finlay’s ex-husband Steven and her mother insist on tagging along too, Finlay and Vero suddenly have a few too many meddlesome passengers along for the ride.

Within hours of arriving in their seedy casino hotel, it becomes clear their rescue mission is going to be a bust. Javi’s kidnapper, Marco, refuses to negotiate, demanding payment in full in exchange for Javi’s life. But that’s not all―he insists on knowing the whereabouts of his missing nephew, Ike, who mysteriously disappeared. Unable to confess what really happened to Ike, Finlay and Vero are forced to come up with a new plan: sleuth out the location of Javi and the Aston Martin, then steal them both back.

But when they sneak into the loan shark’s suite to search for clues, they find more than they bargained for―Marco's already dead. They don’t have a clue who murdered him, only that they themselves have a very convincing motive. Then four members of the police department unexpectedly show up in town, also looking for Ike―and after Finlay's night with hot cop Nick at the police academy, he’s a little too eager to keep her close to his side.

If Finlay can juggle a jealous ex-husband, two precocious kids, her mother’s marital issues, a decomposing loan shark, and find Vero’s missing boyfriend, she might get out of Atlantic City in one piece. But will she fold under the pressure and come clean about the things she’s done, or be forced to double down?

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dicd by Elle Cosimano was fantastic! I’ve read and loved the three previous books in the series and this might be my favorite! Finlay, Vero, the kids, Finn’s ex, Finn’s mom, sister, and current beau all head to Atlantic City. What could go wrong? Two dead bodies, an ex-cop is out to get them and they’ve got quiet the to do list to keep everything from falling apart. This book was fast paced and fun!

The story flowed well and the characters were well developed. I recommend this book and look forward to more from this author.

****Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for my honest review****

I want to preface this with I love Finlay and Vero so much and will likely read these books until the very end!

However, I can’t help but feel they’re starting to drag and become slightly unrealistic, because honestly how many dead bodies does one come across in their lives ?!?

I hope at some point in their near future we get some real answers about Steven because while I loved the pacing of this book more then the last, I feel like every book opens and closes with Steven as a potential villain but not discourse on the matter through the whole book.

Finlay is back with more chaos and more fun than ever! I really liked this one. While the first half was a lot of setup and chaos (there are a lot of characters to keep track of and some suspension of disbelief is definitely required 😅), it really picked up in the second half the whole ending was AMAZING! I couldn’t put it down and it answered so many questions and tied off loose ends in such a satisfying way. But don’t worry, there are still plenty of unanswered questions too and I’m so glad that we have many more Finlay books coming our way!

Sign me up for any and all Finlay Donovan books - another great installment. I was almost upset that everything was wrapping up too neatly, worrying that this would be the last book! True Elle Cosimano style, that last sentence changes everything and leaves you hanging

The Finlay Donavan story continues! This is such an interesting genre of a story. We have mystery, the mob, a single-mom, sexy cop, and funny LOL moments.

As with all of the books in the series, you have to go into it suspending reality. Is this realistic? No way. Do I love it? Yes! I liked the story line. It did get confusing at some points to tie everything together but I felt like I didn’t have any questions by the end.

Thanks to NetGalley for the arc!

Yet another great book with Finlay! Sometimes series can get a bit redundant and use the same plots in different ways but these books just keep getting better! Elle Cosimano nails the humor yet again in the 4th book of the series. The situations that Finlay and Vero find themselves in were ridiculous, hilarious, and plausible! I liked the story lines with other characters like Nick, Javi & her ex-husband. The arc of her husband seemed like a long time coming. And let’s not forget the last sentence of the book- eluding to another book in the series! Can’t wait!
Thank you Net Galley for the ARC!

Thank you, NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press, for providing me with an ARC of Finlay Donovan Rolls The Dice by Elle Casimano.

This thrilling fourth installment follows Finlay Donovan and her trusty nanny-turned-friend, Vero, as they embark on a supposedly relaxing girls' trip to Atlantic City. However, their true mission is to track down a loan shark who kidnapped Vero’s childhood friend, Javi.

To add to the madness, Finlay's mother and her unpredictable ex-husband decide to tag along. As if that wasn't enough, they find themselves staying at the same hotel as the detective Nick Anthony. With so many unexpected companions, Finlay and Vero must race against the clock to locate Javi before time runs out.

✨Thoughts✨
Finlay Donovan Rolls The Dice was absolutely epic, filled with mystery and laughter. Elle Casimano's masterful storytelling kept me on the edge of my seat, eagerly flipping through the pages, desperate to uncover every twist and turn.

As Finlay's relationship with Nick develops, the stakes grow higher, testing her loyalty and forcing her to make difficult choices. The tension between them adds an extra layer of excitement and keeps me emotionally invested.

One of the standout aspects of this book is the dynamic friendship between Finlay and Vero. Their witty banter and unwavering support for one another bring so much joy to the story. I couldn't help but root for their success and laugh along with their hilarious escapades.

In conclusion, Donovan Rolls The Dice is a must-read for fans of mystery and comedy. This series only keeps getting better, and I can't wait to read more.

Thank you to both #NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press/Minotaur Books for providing me an advance copy of Elle Cosimano’s fourth book in the #FinlayDonovanSeries, Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice, in exchange for an honest review.

#FinlayDonovanRollstheDice opens where the cliffhanger in #FinlayDonovanJumpstheGun left us readers…well…hanging. The dynamic duo is back at it, chasing down leads to an Aston Martin and encrypted thumb drive in Atlantic City, leaving more than a couple of dead bodies strewn in their wake. All while Finn continues her writing career, making her latest novel the most meta of mystery thrillers.

While the novel is less plausible than a Bruce Willis action movie, keep in mind that again this is fiction, so technically no matter how implausible the story becomes it was never intended to be a blueprint for real life. Suspend all reality, and strap in for the chick lit counterpart of a spy/action series. If you’re not ready for having fun and using your imagination, then dear reader, this series is not for you. Overall, 3.5 stars rounded up.

🌟🌟🌟🌟
I just can’t get enough of this series, and I shrieked with excitement when I was approved for the newest ARC!

My favorite duo, Finlay and Vero, are back to create some more chaos in book four of the Finlay Donovan series. Their crazy escapades take us to Atlantic City, which is the main setting for this installment, and of course “the hot cop” and his posse end up trailing along.

Can I just say how much I ADORE Finlay and Vero’s friendship? Their loyalty and devotion to each other just warms my soul. #friendshipgoals

While the plot may be a bit fantastical at times, the well developed characters make it work. And if I wanted realism, I’d read true crime. This is a laugh out loud, cozy mystery, that I could not put down!

Side note- Angela Dawe, the audiobook narrator for the first three books is absolutely amazing! Her voices are better than the ones I do in my head.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s press for my advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you for the ARC, Netgalley!

I was quite surprised how much I enjoyed this book. My mom and I read it together and we both had a blast guessing the characters next moves. To be honest, this is not the first book in the series (which I didn’t realize before reading) BUT there was no problem getting to know the characters and the world. I will be looking into the authors backlist of books and catching up on them.

I couldn’t put this one down, it was GO from the first chapter. This one picks up right where the last book left off, and for such a tight timeline there is SO MUCH to cover. It starts with Finlay and Vero’s “girls trip” being hijacked by Steven and her mother. But, it kinda works out because that is built in childcare while Finn and Vero take off around Atlantic City trying to piece together clues to save someone close to them. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Finlay Donovan story if things went smoothly… pretty soon they are surround by friends and enemies watching their every move. Can they figure out the clues before the bad guys?? This book was action packed and such a fun mystery, this is why Elle Cosimano is now an auto-buy author for me. I can’t wait for the next one!!

ROAD TRIP!!!

How did Finlay and Vero end up on a road trip to Atlantic City, with Finlay’s ex husband, her two kids, and her mother?

Well, it all started with a ransom note, and a plan to rescue the kidnapped!

Book 4 picks up right where the last book ended! No spoilers for any of the books here, but it really is imperative to start at the beginning of this series, as each installment builds upon the last!

This is the SILLIEST CAPER yet, and all of your favorite characters (except for Mrs. Haggerty) will find their way to Atlantic City to participate in the shenanigans, including hot cop, Detective Nicholas Anthony…ooh la la!

But, if you are disappointed that Mrs. Haggerty didn’t tag along, do not worry! It looks like she will have a prominent role in the next book in the series (yay!)

These books are reminiscent of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series for me-so if you enjoy(ed) those-you will love these! Both feature a leading lady who is always finding trouble, a side kick who once had a questionable past, a love triangle, and a lot of laughs!

🍿Pop the popcorn and enjoy the ride! 🚗🚓

3.5 ⭐️ rounded up!

A buddy read with DeAnn! Check out her amazing review!

This series is always hilarious and Nick is always steamy. Vero and Finn have a great relationship, minus all the dead bodies stacking up. The story is suppose to be a little far fetched in the circumstances that they find themselves in, which makes the story! I love this series b

I love this series so damn much. Finlay and Vero = best friends forever. I hope there’s a million more

I’m a Finlay Donovan fan, and this latest book in the Finlay series was delightful. Finlay and Vero bring their A game. Sylvia was a riot; labor focused on Findlay’s book success, oblivious to the real danger going on. Nick was the perfect hot cop devoted to Finlay despite her shenanigans. We should all be so lucky. This book read like a comedy action movie with so many memorable, hilarious scenes; possibly my favorite book of the series.

Thank you #MinotaurBooks and #NetGalley for the ARC e-book!

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is the fourth book in a planned series of seven. At this point, spending time with Finlay and Vero feels like hanging out with that one crazy college friend who was always getting into shenanigans and narrowly and miraculously avoiding trouble.

There were some laugh-out-loud moments in this series installment and some much-needed closure for certain storylines.

Looking forward to new shenanigans in the next book!

Fans of the TV show “Dead to Me” would love the Finlay Donovan series. And, fun fact: I just read it’s been optioned for TV, with Marlene King of Pretty Little Liars adapting the books into a screenplay. Yay!
