Elle Cosimano does it again with Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice.
A woman, her accountant/nanny/bestie, two small children, mom, and ex-husband walk into a Atlantic City Hotel/Casino... If this sounds like the perfect setup for an unputdownable, action-packed, hilarious romp, that's because it is! With competing mobsters, a cadre of cops and feds, kidnappers and kidnappees, a yappy dog, and a sexy boyfriend that won't let Finlay out of his sight, what started out as a girl's trip won't be a relaxing day at the spa. This over-the-top adventure packed a perfect punch.

Love love love me some Finlay Donovan. Sure, the hijinx are increasingly out of control and unbelievable (there’s always one or two that has me wanting to toss the book in frustration) but overall this series is just pure fun. I love the characters so much, especially Finlay and Vero. Honestly, Steven also kind of entertains me. We are definitely getting a fifth book and I just can’t wait. I will always recommend this series- it’s the perfect escape from reality, but also encapsulates motherhood in an incredibly honest and refreshing way.

This is probably my favorite book that I have received from netgalley in 2023. I was beyond excited to be accepted to review it. I am a huge Finlay Donovan fan after reading the first two books in the series. I am eagerly waiting the next Finlay book, but in the meantime I have also preordered this one. Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book!

I absolutely love this series. Even though the storyline is a little far fetched-it is a quick read and funny. The characters are awesome and relatable.

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is the 4th book in Cosimano's Finlay Donovan Series. I wasn't sure how easy it would be to pick up the series starting at the 4th book, but it was easy AND lots of fun!
It could be read as a stand alone, but you'll want to go back and start from the beginning after becoming invested in these wacky characters. Finlay and her nanny Vero get in so much trouble it keeps the story moving quickly!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this advanced reader copy. My opinions are my own.

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice by Elle Cosimano
Under the guise of needing a girls' weekend away from home, Finlay and Vero are heading to Vegas. Finlay's ex, Steve, insists on going, along with the kids. Oh, Finlay's mom is going, too! She doesn't want to miss the time away since she seems to be on the outs with Finlay's dad.
Trouble is that Finlay and Vero are in their usual very deep and dangerous trouble so they will have to attempt their illegal and extremely unsafe deeds without ex hubby and mom knowing what is going on. At least they will now have two babysitters so that the kids will be safe and sound in their rooms, right?! But does anything ever go right for Finlay and Vero? I give you one guess!
Most of the rest of the cast of this series show up soon, no need for a truly logical excuse because this in Finlay's world, where the most outrageous things happen night and day. Non stop action and lying make up the entire story, with a little bit of romantic action to add flavor to a couple of love lives. Know that there will be more non stop craziness in the next installment of Finlay's life going off the charts wrong. Finlay and Vero are giving Lucy and Ethel a run for their money, for sure!
Thank you to St. Martin's Press, Minotaur Books, and NetGalley for this ARC.

Some random thoughts first:
1 The children need to go outside and get some fresh air sometimes. Too much television can't be good for them.
2 We need to figure out what Steven is hiding. And he most definitely is hiding something.
3 Why is Finlay so even-tempered with Steven after all his garbage? Yes, she is annoyed with him but why hasn't she tried to get some sort of payback on him yet? Even something small just for amusement?
4 The heat was only about 🌶🌶 but still very adorable. I'm loving Nick and not missing the young lawyer-to-be.
5 Nice to see most of the old plots being wrapped up. I'm ready for new, fresh drama to ensue.
I was super excited to get an advance view of the latest Finlay Donovan book (#4). This is quite possibly my favourite after the first book, but it still packed a 4 star punch for me. They have all been 4 star reads for me and what I think would push it to a five is to have less zaniness in the plot but more actual humour involved in the dialogues. Everything is amusing but not much is actually laugh out loud funny. But still, it's nice to sometimes read some popcorn fiction because it's simple easy fun.
Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This is not my go-to genre so it says a lot that I have inhaled every single one of the books in this series. I can't get enough of these characters - no matter how much trouble they seem to find themselves in!
We jump right back into the story with Finlay and Vero headed to Atlantic City to tie up all their loose ends from the last novel: we've got a missing person, a missing car, a mob boss on the loose... AND MORE. I really didn't know how Elle Cosimano was going to resolve everything, but once again she's managed to do it in her unique, fun and twisty way.
My only con is that this book just seemed to fly by too quickly and was over before I knew it 😩

FINLAY DONOVAN ROLLS THE DICE • Elle Cosimano • Pub Date: March 5, 2024
Finlay and Vero are back at it again, round 4! Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for an eARC in exchange for an honest review. If you have not started this series yet, do yourself a favor and go pick up Book 1 — Finlay Donovan is Killing It.
Abridged Goodreads Synopsis: Finlay Donovan and her partner-in-crime Vero plan a trip to Atlantic City to negotiate a deal with a dangerous loan shark, save Vero’s childhood crush Javi, and hunt down a stolen car. When Finlay’s ex-husband Steven and her mother insist on tagging along too, Finlay and Vero suddenly have a few too many meddlesome passengers along for the ride. Then four members of the police department unexpectedly show up in town, including hot cop Nick, who is a little too eager to keep Finlay close to his side given the events of Book 3. If Finlay can juggle a jealous ex-husband, two precocious kids, her mother’s marital issues, a decomposing loan shark, and find Vero’s missing boyfriend, she might get out of Atlantic City in one piece. But will she fold under the pressure and come clean about the things she’s done, or be forced to double down?
Sometimes the longer a series goes on, the more likely it is that the quality of the books may decrease. I am thrilled to report that this was not the case. Book four was GREAT. While the first book in any series holds a special place in my heart, this book has officially become my favorite of the series. The journey is fast, furious, and fun. The ending brings a satisfying conclusion to many of the overarching plot points of this series. And most importantly? We leave off on a cliffhanger that teases an entirely new, delicious plot that will hopefully be picked up in Book 5.
TL;DR: Fans of Finlay will love where Book 4 takes the series.

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is the fourth installment in the adventures of Finlay and her bff/nanny Vero. While I absolutely loved the first book in the series, the second and third both fell a little flat for me, but I was pleasantly surprised by this newest addition. There were moments where I genuinely laughed out loud, and I loved that Finlay was finally able to put her foot down and stand up to ex-husband Steven. While the antics in this book were just as over the top and unbelievable as in the previous books, I did enjoy the read.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice in exchange for my honest review.

Breezy and fun as always… I have enjoyed this series, but the implausibility has gotten to be too much and I’m getting bored. Despite laughing out loud a couple of times I think I might have just read my last addition to the series. By no means is it bad, it's just not enjoyable enough for me.
*As of early February 2023 casinos in Atlantic City don't allow guests to have firearms. Considering that this title publishes in March 2024, I'm hoping that maybe this is edited.
Thank you to Minotaur Books and NetGalley for the DRC

Ready for the next installment in the Finlay Donovan series? It doesn’t disappoint! These characters remain so fun to read, there are many moments that made me laugh. The second half of the book really brought it all together and that last page is sure to keep me on my toes for the next book!
Fans of the series; pick this one up!
If you haven’t read these books yet; get started! You can read the first three before March comes around.
Thank you to the publisher for the gifted ARC

I have loved all the Finlay Donovan books but this one might be my favorite! I love that Finlay is a single mom and a complete badass. I love that Vero is snarky and sarcastic. I love the addition of Finlay’s mom and her contribution to this story. This book was laugh out loud funny with a fantastic plot and storyline. I can’t wait for this series to continue!!

Whether you've read the other Finlay Donovan books, or this is new to you, this is the book for you.
I've read the prior books, and this one might just be my favorite.
From the character development to the storyline, the writing is superb. Humor and thrilling is a great way to describe this book. This is one of the best series in my opinion. I loved everything about it.
A big thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for this ARC in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

My favorite in the series so far !!! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. Finlay Donovan is best described as a car crash you can’t look away from but SO MUCH FUN if you’re a cozy mystery lover. For a premise you think is far fetched, this is awfully relatable

Finlay is just as hilarious as in her other titles. I don't know how she does it! I was thinking of these titles from a writer's perspective and left with two choices for the character, they always pick the worst and most chaotic. Hilarious! I already can't wait for the next title!

Does this book even need an introduction?
If you have been living under a rock and have not yet read a Finlay book, you are quite frankly, a criminal.
BUT, I will let this one slide and let you know, there is still time to catch up before the release of, Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dive.
I was first introduced to Finlay in Finlay Donovan is Killing It. This was my first time reading a book by Cosimano and I hung on her every word. This book was literary gold and I could not get enough. I began recommending Finlay to everyone I met! There wasn't a person I told about this book that didn't love it as much as I did.
Finlay Donovan Knocks Em Dead and Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun soon followed and I was wildly surprised at how much I was enjoying this series when I am usually not one that gets involved in a series (I have commitment issues) .
When I heard about Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice, I truly believed that Cosimano started writing books specifically for me. A book that takes place in Atlantic City? You mean, my home away from home? Yes, please.
No need for spoilers, Finlay will pull you right in on her adventures, you need to know nothing except the fact that this is a must read. The entire series, don't skip ahead. Im sure you could read these as standalones but why would you want to? Finlay Donovan, is LIFE!
Check out this teaser :
From New York Times bestseller Elle Cosimano comes Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice―the fiercely anticipated next installment in the beloved Finlay Donovan series.
"Finlay Donovan is irresistible!"―Janet Evanovich
Finlay Donovan and her nanny/partner-in-crime Vero are in sore need of a girls’ weekend away. They plan a trip to Atlantic City, but odds are―seeing as it’s actually a cover story to negotiate a deal with a dangerous loan shark, save Vero’s childhood crush Javi, and hunt down a stolen car―it won’t be all fun and games. When Finlay’s ex-husband Steven and her mother insist on tagging along too, Finlay and Vero suddenly have a few too many meddlesome passengers along for the ride.
Within hours of arriving in their seedy casino hotel, it becomes clear their rescue mission is going to be a bust. Javi’s kidnapper, Marco, refuses to negotiate, demanding payment in full in exchange for Javi’s life. But that’s not all―he insists on knowing the whereabouts of his missing nephew, Ike, who mysteriously disappeared. Unable to confess what really happened to Ike, Finlay and Vero are forced to come up with a new plan: sleuth out the location of Javi and the Aston Martin, then steal them both back.
But when they sneak into the loan shark’s suite to search for clues, they find more than they bargained for―Marco's already dead. They don’t have a clue who murdered him, only that they themselves have a very convincing motive. Then four members of the police department unexpectedly show up in town, also looking for Ike―and after Finlay's night with hot cop Nick at the police academy, he’s a little too eager to keep her close to his side.

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dicd by Elle Cosimano was fantastic! I’ve read and loved the three previous books in the series and this might be my favorite! Finlay, Vero, the kids, Finn’s ex, Finn’s mom, sister, and current beau all head to Atlantic City. What could go wrong? Two dead bodies, an ex-cop is out to get them and they’ve got quiet the to do list to keep everything from falling apart. This book was fast paced and fun!

The story flowed well and the characters were well developed. I recommend this book and look forward to more from this author.
****Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for my honest review****

I want to preface this with I love Finlay and Vero so much and will likely read these books until the very end!
However, I can’t help but feel they’re starting to drag and become slightly unrealistic, because honestly how many dead bodies does one come across in their lives ?!?
I hope at some point in their near future we get some real answers about Steven because while I loved the pacing of this book more then the last, I feel like every book opens and closes with Steven as a potential villain but not discourse on the matter through the whole book.
