My first Cathryn Grant novel, and I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end. Can't wait to read more from this author!
Wow what a great read, I really enjoyed this book! It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through, I couldn't put it down!!!
Fairly predictable read - understood what was going to happen and who did what fairly early on. Some of the plot was too out there for it to be believable.
3⭐️⭐️⭐️
✨psychological thriller
✨ past trauma
✨ the story was straight to the point .
fast paced. But I just don’t understand the friend getting along with Dylan. The wife has more sense inviting Eden . It just doesn’t make sense with the story.
Anyway, some of the sentence or plot is repetitive, I thought I was losing my mind but I have to re read again and yup .. I’m right .
✨ it’s an okay read. It was already predictable at the end.
✨ Thankyou for the arc copy of this book for a honest review

Thank you NetGalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a solid 3 star medium burn thriller. I figured out who did and why pretty early on but it was still entertaining to read the past and present stories and how it all came out in the end. I was entertained from the start. Definitely a recommendation for someone wanting to start in on a psychological thriller.
It was a quick easy read. Some of the story line was too far out for it to be believable for me. I mean what married couple would let someone stay with them that has kissed one of them recently? I didn't like Dylan's character because he was an awful husband. Eden was way out of line and Parker was whiney and complained too much without doing something about it. The whole thing became too far fetched to be believable. I am happy that I was given the opportunity to read this book through netgalley. I would give this a 3.5 stars if able but since I cant I am giving it a 4.
Enjoyed the Novel.
Definitely will recommend to other readers.
Cathryn Grant does not disappoint!!!
Outstanding, loved it from the first page and one of my favourites of the year, it had everything in it and a great storyline
DNF for me in this case. I really do appreciate Net galley’s allowance for me to get an advanced copy.
3.5 stars
“The killer always returns to the scene of the crime,” or so we are told. Eden returns to her hometown on the 20th anniversary of the murder of her best friend’s sister, but things aren’t always what they seem.
I did enjoy the book, but it felt more like a struggle between two ex-friends than it did the solving of a murder. It was a little hard to believe that Eden was still welcome in Parker and Dylan’s home after some of the things that happened; in real life, any wife would have kicked her to the curb pretty early on.
Some character development lacked a little bit, but I would still recommend the book because I know a lot of people would really enjoy it.
Don't Trust Her by Cathryn Grant.
Parker had the perfect marriage. Then Eden came home.
A really good read. Twisty.
I had a theory but was sort of right. 4*.
This book got me out of my reading slump! It was so interesting from the start! Thanks #NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC!
I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. This book was good but not one of my favorites. I normally love books by this author but most of it just read like a typical women's fiction book until the last 20 percent. The twists were predictable also. I will definitely read more by this author but this one was just okay for me.
I always enjoys Grants work and intend to read the next. This one, while bringing us into the middle of grief, anger and suspicions of the three never-to-separated (pledged as children) friends 20 years after the older sister of one was murdered. The problem for me was that halfway through, we still only have these three major characters and we immediately guess who the killer is. This leaves us with the heavyness of the grief and guilt and it just wasn’t satisfying enough for me the way I usually feel with this authors books.
Cathryn Grant returns following The Secret She Kept with her latest thriller, DON'T TRUST HER—a deliciously wicked twisted triangle when the past and present collide in a clever game of cat-and-mouse, leaving you guessing which is predator or prey?
It has been 20 years since Celeste was murdered while reading a book in her favorite spot in the woods. (this was me as a child, except the Walkman was not invented yet). While listening to her Walkman, she was unaware of the monster approaching behind her.
Celeste Campbell was nineteen and had finished her first year of college when a monster without a soul crept up behind her and smashed the back of her head with a rock. Her murder changed all their lives. Celeste was Dylan's older, wiser sister, who always said a friendship with a triangle could not last. The group thought she was just jealous—she was correct.
What if Celeste had not come home that summer, gone out to read by the creek that evening after dinner, or had not been listening to music with her headphones on? There were so many what-ifs.
Dylan has planned a 20th-anniversary memorial service for her and invited some of their childhood friends. He is married to Parker, and they have two children, Brianna and Maverick. Dylan never got over her death.
Dylan, Parker, and Eden were best friends years ago. Two friends after the same man, which tore their friendship apart. When Dylan invites Eden to stay with them at their house when in town, Parker is unhappy (livid). Eden planned to stay at a local B&B, but Dylan would not hear of it. They needed to catch up. Eden had lived in Milan for the past fifteen years and recently divorced.
There was also a creepy neighbor, Julian (veterinarian), who liked to keep tabs on the neighbors with his expensive pair of binoculars. He never married or found a life partner. He lived alone in his parent's house since their deaths. Who was initially a suspect but was cleared.
With Eden staying with them, Parker's life she thought was perfect until now. Parker is suspicious and jealous when Eden flirts with Dylan. She wants her gone from their home. Why would her husband invite Eden to stay with them without discussing with her first? How far will she go to protect their family? What are Eden's motives?
Alternating from then and now, we hear from POV: Eden, Parker, and Dylan. In the present, someone dies. Was it murder or an accident? Does it have any connection to the past? Did Julian know something about the murder years ago? Was he getting too close?
No one is what they seem. And the fates of these two women twist and turn until the shocking truth emerges. Often, the monsters are right in front of us.
Cathryn Grants weaves a twisted tale of love, revenge, trust, and betrayal. DON'T TRUST HER is a fast-paced domestic suspense that keeps you guessing until this toxic triangle drama ends. A diabolical cat-and-mouse thriller; however, who is the cat, and who is the mouse? For fans of author Hank Phillippi Ryan, Miranda Rijks, and Emily Shiner.

Thanks to #NetGalley and #InkubatorBooks for the ARC #DontTrustHer by #CathrynGrant. An on the edge of the seat thriller, where people are still looking for answers on a murder from years ago. the shocking events from back then and now will totally surprise you.
I really loved the pacing of the story. The breadcrumbs are dropped little by little to make you form your suspect list. I was pretty sure early on who it was but couldn’t figure out why. It was wrapped up very nicely. Books like this make you really question how well you can really know someone and how can someone live so many years with no remorse for killing someone.
Cathryn Grant does it again! I was gripped instantly and on the edge of my seat throughout this twisted, fast-paced thriller. Lifelong friendships should be comforting, eliciting memories of happy, simpler times. The bond between Eden, Parker, and Dylan was strong and unbreakable. They shared treasured experiences and had a connection that they thought would last forever. An unsolved murder, suspicious behavior, mysterious motives, and past rivalry can be toxic and deadly. Will their friendship stand the test of time, or was it ever actually real in the first place? I highly recommend this to all thriller addicts. Thank you Inkubator Books and NetGalley for my copy. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I really wasn't sure what I was going to rate this, but I landed on 3-stars. It wasn't awful but I easily and early on guessed who did it, so that surprise was ruined when it was finally revealed. Some of the story was kind of outlandish... I mean, what married couple lets someone stay after that person kisses one of them? Dylan's reaction was not realistic. If he was actually committed to Parker, he would have understood why she wanted Eden to leave. He seemed to convert back to his childhood self and it was just cringey to read, as a married woman myself. I did like the idea of the book, I just wish it were executed a little more psychologically.
Thanks to NetGalley and Incubator Books I've had a chance to read and give my honest review of this book. It's a story about three childhood friends told by three POV's about a tragedy that tore the friendship apart. The characters are all unlikable and it was hard to find any redeeming qualities in any of them. Parker was paranoid, Dylan was naive, Eden was an instigator and Julien was a creep. The time jumps made the story hard to follow as they broke up the action. I didn't really like the book and probably would not recommend it. I generously give it 3 stars.
