Amish Love Letters by Shelley Shepard Gray, Charlotte Hubbard, Rosalind Lauer ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a collection of short stories by these 3 amazing authors. All connected by the characters writing letters for various reasons. They stand alone so you would need to read them all but I'm recommending you do. I enjoyed all of them.
I was surprised when I started reading Charlotte's story because it new characters joining characters and location from a previous novel Hidden Away at Promise Lodge.
Wish writing letters were a thing today. As with these 3 stories it a great example that its easier writing thoughts on paper than face to face.
I was given an advanced copy if this book from NetGalley. Download your copy today.
In these three sweet Amish romances, written communication might work much better. In 'Love Letter Courtship', Jennie's family loves Matt so much that they monopolize his time when he visits. Jennie suggests writing letters to each other so they can know each other better. In 'S.W.A.K ', Eddie is hoping that his move to Promise Lodge will stop a persistent girl from pursuing him. Eddie is confused when he doesn't realize that he is receiving mail from two different Fannies. My favorite story is 'The Wrong Valentine'. Romance blossoms between a widow and her driver as they pass secret valentines between them. I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher through Netgalley. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. I liked all three of these stories very much. The first two stories are based on very young couples, but I still enjoyed them. I felt there was more depth to the last story.
This book has a very good choice of stories. I have read the first 2 of these authors before. They are very good. I especially enjoyed the first one and the idea of letter writing. A very good collection of amish stories in this book. A VERY GOOD READ
I recently discovered Amish romances and am absolutely loving reading them.
This collection gave me the opportunity to read several different new to me authors and was incredibly enjoyable. I was planning on reading one at a time, between other longer reads but in the end read this entire book in one sitting. Each one was sweet and special and beautiful to read. I am very happy to have read this sweet romance collection.
I am giving 𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗛 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗟𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦 the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!

Amish Love Letters
Average 4-star rating.
by Shelley Shepard Gray; Lenora Worth; Rosalind Lauer
What a wonderful three novellas in one book!
Love Letter Courtship by Shelley Shepard Gray
This is perhaps the first time I have read about domestic violence in an Amish book. It was handled very well and without any graphic details. I enjoyed the story and how Ms. Gray handled the more painful aspects of the tale. 4 stars
S.W.A.K by Charlotte Hubbard
The second book was so good. This was by far my favorite of the three. I enjoyed the silly mix-ups and misunderstandings. This is a cute, light Amish romance. I loved the way the bishop helped Eddie and Fannie. SWAK is just a sweet unexpected romance book. 5 stars
The Wrong Valentine by Rosalind Lauer
The third book was good as well, but it was a very expected Amish romance. It falls back on the trope of pushy Amish parents and a reformed bad boy preachers son. I would say this one is a 2.5 – 3 stars.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and Netgalley.
My description; i.e., the blurb
Love Letter Courtship * Shelley Shepard Gray
The title is a perfect description of the story — when regular courtship doesn’t work, Jennie Miller and Matthew Lapp begin a one-month correspondence.
S.W.A.K * Charlotte Hubbard
Fannie Kurtz loves Eddie Brubaker He has grown up a lot and likes Fannie far more than she knows. And then … pink envelopes start appearing for Eddie.
The Wrong Valentine * Rosalind Lauer
Working in her mother-in-law’s restaurant, Martha Lambright is grateful but most important are her two young children — making sure they are safe from harm. Mose had, er ah — quite a rumspringa, drives Martha to work daily. They are friends. Just friends until a valentine goes astray . . .
My review …
Love Letter Courtship * Shelley Shepard Gray Rating 5 stars
S.W.A.K * Charlotte Hubbard Rating 2 stars
The Wrong Valentine * Rosalind Lauer Rating 5 stars
Total 12 stars
Average 4 stars
ergo … Amish Love Letters Book Rating 4 stars
How I rated each novella …
I enjoyed reading “Love Letter Courtship” and “The Wrong Valentine”. “S.W.A.K.” — not so much because it was loaded with characters. Way too many for a novella.
“S.W.A.K ” is part of the Promise Lodge series by Charlotte Hubbard — an Amish series. I have read books 1 & 2 and in the process of reading another. The first two books were rated at 5 stars each. So what other issues with “S.W.A.K.”? Eddie. He is very young — too young for marriage and he knows it. But the more this “envelope girl” pursues him — and she is beyond something else if you get my meaning — instead of telling her no, No, and NO!!!! He ignores her and the advice he receives about dealing with her. I am up in years but haven’t forgotten how boys (and men) act around girls like that. The “envelope girl” and Eddie get very old very fast. So boredom plus every character (it seemed like) from the Promise Lodge series, the author lost my interest completely.
As for “Love Letter Courtship” and “The Wrong Valentine”, the authors, Shelley Shepard Gray and Rosalind Lauer respectfully, immediately grabbed my interest and presented a fun-to-read, engaging story. And a complete one. You will enjoy these two.
AND … Try the “middle” story by Charlotte Hubbard. Other reviewers rated it much higher and you may feel the same. I received a complimentary DRC (digital review copy) of “Amish Love Letters” via NetGalley from the publisher, Kensington Books.
Average Rating for all 3 novellas: 4 stars

In our fast paced, technology driven culture, it seems that hand writing letters is quickly becoming a dying art. But in these 3 novellas, home made cards and valentines take center stage as they bring people closer together like nothing else can.
This collection of stories was like a warm comforting blanket on a cold day. I enjoyed them all very much, even though it is not Valentine’s day yet. They were a good reminder to be kind to everyone no matter what day it is, and that love can be found in unexpected places.
I deducted a star because one story in particular was a little confusing, in my opinion, and had quite a few typos. None of that will keep me from recommending this book however. It is a sweet, easy, clean read that will take you to a simpler place where people still actually write letters.
*I received a complimentary copy of this e-book from NetGalley and Kensington Books. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A good book by three great authors. Each one took the love letters theme and did a interesting story. Each story was heart felt and easy to read . I enjoyed this book. And was given by netgalley to read.

I loved this novella collection. The stories were enjoyable, especially the one written by Charlotte Hubbard, I love Promise Lodge and it’’s a pleasure to return to it.
The three authors wrote heartwarming short stories that stayed with me long after I finished reading them.
A fast read that will appeal to readers of Amish and Christian fiction readers.
My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the copy of this book. Opinions are my own.
For the most part, I requested this book just for the Shelley Shepard Gray novella but excited about the others.
Three wonderful stories about our favorite topic, Love! In Love Letter Courtship Jennie and Matt learn about each other through their words shared through the letters they send. Matt thought he knew Jennie and Jennie learned to appreciate Matt.
S.W.A.K. is a funny cute story about a lot of confusion and speaking up from the start. Another quick trip back to Promise Lodge, Fannie knows she wants Eddie but things don't go exactly as planned when pink paper and love get mixed up. Don't assume anything in matters of the heart.
The Wrong Valentine story wasn't so wrong. Martha, a young widow helps the giggly young girls at work create Valentine's. When a card accidently gets mixed up with another, Mose is taken off guard and ends up making a few cards of his own. There is a lot of kindness in the giving of a card, especially where love is concerned.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book, opinions expressed in this review our completely my own.
Three beautiful stories written by three talented authors. I loved the book. Such a joy of writing letters of love to someone. In this world letter writing is rare everything is texting. A great book for Valentine"s day.
Three sweet Valentine's novellas that warmed my heart through and through.
When I seen my three favorite authors I knew I had to have this book.
I loved the idea of writing letters! To me, that's a great way to tell someone how you feel about them. And a good and easier for shy people that aren't good with words to say how you feel.
Writing is easier for me or texting either way. I know the Amish doesn't do that unless they're in Rumspringa or a business.
Some guys are rather slow in asking but I guess I can't blame them. They want to be sure it's the right lady or vice versa.
I really enjoyed this book even though they are short stories. The only bad thing is they make u want more of each story!
I did take my time and read one a day believe it or not. I wanted to savor each one. Each one was a sweet one.
A little romance/something for everyone!
5 stars for keeping me engaged in each story. I recommend it
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Loved reading this novel, I would definitely recommend it, great writing style. Her books never disappoint!
Three short, sweet Amish love stories make up this book. They each focus on a couple/ potential couple communicating through letters, some secret, some not. I like that the couples all used this medium to open up and express themselves and their feelings. I think everyone could benefit from writing notes/ letters to those they love! They are stories that warmed my heart.
These are three sweet Amish love short stories that have letters involved and they take place near Valentines Day. Each can be read in a short amount of time. If you're in the mood for something quick and easy to read with light-hearted romance, these will fit the bill!
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

U highly recommend this book for fans of Amish fiction. A great collection. Ofbshort stories.
A wonderful novella written by three amazing authors. All the stories take place around Valentine’s Day and are clean reads. Definitely worth picking up and reading.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book given to me by NetGalley and the publisher. All words are my own.
Three different stories of Valentines Day romances, each one a delightful read. I have read all the books from both Shelley Shepard Gray and Charlotte Hubbard, and they felt like coming home to a place you’ve been many times. Rosalind Lauer is new to me, and I enjoyed her story just as much, especially the part about crafting Valentines cards with her co workers. I would recommend this collection of novellas to anyone who likes a wholesome read. Thanks to NetGalley and Kensington books for the advanced copy.
