My 2.5 year old and I both loved this book! She wants to grow radishes now!! Great lesson also! This would be fabulous for kids entering contests for the first time since we don’t always win!

What a cute story!!! Poppy and her sidekick, Vincent Van Goat star in this sweet little tale about Poppy’s quest to earn a blue ribbon at the fair, and her funny little fur friend that somehow always manages to somehow keep that from happening. On the day of the fair, Poppy finally could present her radish and learn a really tough lesson – that you can’t always win the prize, but trying and having fun while doing so, is the REAL prize. And then of course, Vincent comes up with own little blue ribbon. Thank you to NetGalley, Kimberly Derting and Shelli R. Johannes for a digital advanced copy of Blue Ribbon Radishes in exchange for an honest review.

When i first encounter this book, i was puzzled "huh? Blue-ribbon radishes? What's that? New kind of radish?" that's exactly what i thought.

So,it is about a little girl who grows up in a family of farmers. This story tells us about her life as a farmer and not to mention her good companion, Vincent Van Goat, yes... A literal goat who's cheeky and cute!

So, what's up? What's the blue ribbon thing?

Aww, you need to uncover it yourself!

But,here's my two cents of the story:

1. It is set up within a realistic setting. Hence it could be an educational material for young readers.

2. The illustrations are eye-pleasing and clean, makes the book more enjoyable to read.

3. Last but not least, it instill the right lesson about life, how we shouldn't be afraid of failures.

Cant keep writing anymore, but go read it, i guarantee it will worth your time♥️

Thank you netgalley for the e-copy!

Cute book, with short chapters and cute illustrations! The lessons were very important and there were a couple of writing and talking prompts at the end. I enjoyed this!

Thank you to Capstone & Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this ARC in exchange for a honest review. I read this book to my kids and they both really enjoyed it. My daughter loved the goat and farm setting. I especially liked that this book teaches the lesson that no matter whether you win or lose it’s important to have a good attitude and try again next time. I definitely recommend this book.

I absolutely adore this book!! I love the sections at the end of the book that prompt the reader to discuss and write about what they have read and how they may have handled different situations that occurred throughout the book. Adding a section about how to "Grow Your Own Radishes" is a great way to introduce children into growing vegetables and seeing how seeds grow into vegetables. I love how this book thinks about ways to continue the learning beyond just the story. There are so many wonderful opportunities in this book to encourage children to learn more and to think about! What a wonderful way to also introduce competition to a child! I love this book and look forward to reading more of the Farm Friends stories!

Thank you to NetGalley and Capstone for the opportunity to read and review this book.

A perfect book for primary school-aged children.

Join Poppy and her best friend Vincent Van Goat (arguably my favourite children's book pet name) as they enter a radish into the fair.

The illustrations are beautiful and engaging, drawing even this adult in to read on quickly.

The characters are cute and well-written, making it a book that adults will actually enjoy reading while also bringing children to the wonderful world of books.

A must-have for my niece's shelf that I will be picking up once it's released.

I will be getting this for my first grade. It's the perfect book to help kids feel grown up but still give them the ability to read. It has short chapters but makes a lot of sense!
And what a valuable lesson it has! I hope to see more in this series
